Narldon:Making anointing oil wouldn't be a problem for the CU chm department lol. And in fact CU has quite a number of patents registered at NOTAP in addition to ranking top three at the Min of Sci and Tech exhibition since the maiden edition last year. The university has equally had bronze and I think silver for innovation and exhibitions as far as Brazil and south Korea. On the other hand your federal universities are the poo centers that are subsidized with about 8-10 billion naira each year and with nothing tangible to show for it. |
Awesome.... The issue I have is that it is still some deeper life members/catholics that would come to attack the likes of Oyedepo and Adeboye when they build their own big cathedtals. I remember that before deeper life went into building of universities some of their members here on NL criticized and compared endlessly against the rccg's and the likes. Soon enough deeper life got a university and it turned out equally as expensive as that of them Oyedepo and Adeboye. Same with the catholic universities that sprung up. Augustine university might even be more expensive than landmark. Let us stop this I better pass you complex in christianedom! Lalasticlala |
Adaowerri111:Sounds like Oyedepo true true. |
Bishop Abioye Arriving in Kinshasha and preached in the French speaking church. Lalasticlala

While Bishop Oyedepo arrived in Winners chapel Osun, Bishop Abioye also arrived in Kinshasha Congo.

If I apply for a PVC now, will I get it before next year's election? Been at that place twice now at fagba, Lagos and they keep telling me they are done registering at 8am! |
Lol this news is three years old!

Hmm that's so sad. They have no reason to feel inferior. There is no proof anywhere in this Nigeria that a university graduate is necessarily better than a polytechnic graduate. And there is no proof that both class of graduates studied anything meaningful to even make a difference. The curriculum for both Universities and polytechnics are both redundant. I don't see myself ever making any dinstinction between a poly and uni grad as an employer. |
Said by a man who took 6 months to create a cabinet of redundant and vestigial politicians. A man who claims sluggishness as a core value... |
He calls two million Nigerian youths who apply to universities with only 600,000 carrying capacity as "wanting freebies". Has this man who ought to be in an elderly home ever seen hundreds of youth lining up at factories in Ikeja just to work and make 500 naira a day. I begin to wonder what his brain-dead children ever contributed to the development of this country. Lalasticlala |
They took third behind Brown University... |
See questions. With all the noise of private schools being simple blah blah blah. Lalasticlala thevictorious |
Rosskii:I'm Yoruba and I love Igbos and I'm sure there are numerous Igbo's who also love Yorubas. I hope one day we can rise above hate and see our differences as beautiful diversity and not a reason to castigate one another. |
Lalasticlala come and see o. This thread go reach like ten pages ![]() |
State universities are the worst category of universities in this country... Poorly planned, badly run and poorly funded. For those who can try taking transfers they should do so asap without wasting much time. |
EmagNig:Are u taking that one serious. They are not related at all. |
laudate:It must have been. Before graduating as a PhD student in CU, you must have two peer reviewed publications and one conference paper indexed on SCOPUS. |
olapluto:She is just a graduate assistant lol. There are GAs in public universities that don't even have a single publication to their names. Pls tell me exactly what is wrong with pay to publish articles? And in what way are they buying recognition? And no shed didn't do PhD for 6 years. She started in 2014. |
The reduction showed that “returning students in the Faculty of Law would now pay N100,000; Faculty of Science, N100,000; Faculty of Social and Management Science, N100,000; Faculty of Education, N80,000; Faculty of Arts, N80,000 with an option to pay twice, that is N50,000 and N40,000 per semester respectively. Final Year students across all faculties are to pay N70,000 with an opinion of paying twice, that is N35,000 per semester. NANS kicks However, National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has rejected the 50 percent tuition fees reduction on returning students to the institution. Its National Public Relations Officer, Idowu Odebunmi, said: “The new arrangement by the state government indicates that the students would still have to pay 200 per cent increase in their tuition fees.” He urged the state government to consider the plights of the students and their parents by announcing pocket-friendly fees. Also, President of Student Union Government, SUG, of AAUA, Olawale Ijanusi, who announced the new tuition fees, said: “This is the lowest he can go and he urged every individual that they should abide by this.” In addition, Ijanusi said: “Sequel to this, the union is willing and ready to seek the opinion of students, the final decision of the union lies with the students.” Meanwhile, Vanguard gathered that the leaders of the students have called for a congress to discuss the governor’s proposal and the way forward. The meeting is to hold this week and its resolution would be communicated to the government this week. Just say mosque. Which kain call to prayer Christians dey do? |
barojana:100% This Yoruba or Igbo girl would house her Fulani friend but might close her door against a Yoruba or Igbo stranger. Your so called Igbo brother can rob you of your belongings while a Yoruba stranger could be the one saving you from your stranded fate. Good and evil, Success and failure abounds in all tribes and religions so deal with people as individuals and not groups. Rep your friends and family members irrespective of tribe or religion because they are the ones who would come looking when you go missing... . ![]() |
4kings:Well quality of libraries is not part of the criteria used by Times to judge how good a university is. Meaning you can have an iconic library without ranking on times. |
barojana:You are sort of right. Covenant wasn't always this conservative tho. I heard it was an issue of cultism nearly rearing its head-some cultists from OAU found visiting their colleagues in CU during the early 2000s that made Oyedepo steer the university on a seclusion, exclusion path. He banned phones to isolate the students from what he saw as external bad influences, stopped admitting people above 21. And till today Covenant would never take a transfer student from any other school talk more of a Nigerian university. But the university is gradually liberalising though. These days if you go for an Intl conference in cu you would see hijabis everywhere, from northern nigeria, middle east which was probably not possible sometime ago. |
Ejo nitori olorun where did you guys see chiamaka? I thought her name was 'motilewa deborah bolanle'. Well maybe she also bears chiamaka sha. No wonder tho she looks more like a chiamaka than a bolanle ![]() |
Well in the least his reputation has been forever tainted... The fact that women don't come out to face their oppressing lecturers is because nigerian universities don't put in place systems where women can feel safe to come out and address these issues. I'm glad for what the whistleblowing lady did. By her single act of releasing the audio she has sent out a clear threat to any other lecturer who intends to exchange sex for marks in the future. The govt however needs to mandate universities to set up mechanisms where harassment is reported and addressed with the victim fully protected from gang - oppression. |
The North keeps advancing while the southerners continue to argue who has the best waec results. |
Earthbound:Chrisland? |
SpoiltVirgin:Yes they did |
jaychubi:What an irony...you just accurately described your self |
nenergy:you ppl do misplaced protest in Nigeria. A person is celebrating her personal achievement and you are talking about Nigeria. Who told you she is a Nigerian citizen by passport sef? jaychubi:The three universities she graduated from would trump any of your useless federal universities on any level so keep quiet. Abi who in their right senses would study in the UK and return to do an advanced degree in a public Nigerian uni.... |
chrisbaxtian:Well if she studied in Covenant uni for BA and MA she might not make it at 25 for a PhD because of national youth service year plus CU masters is nearly two years and PhD is four.. But if I am not wrong Masters in UK is just 1 year. That sort of amplified her chances here. |
