blizard44:and what adult have proven otherwise? Was it the like of Abacha, Abdudalam, Obasanjo? Shagari, Murtala, ziks, awolowos etc were young when they entered to politics, and they performed creditably well. Apart from Goodluck who is kinda young, no younger one have taken power for long. What I am saying in essence is that, those old men can not be kicked out completely from the politics of the state, but they could be a great adviser and criticize when necessary rather than being at the helm. |
blizard44:when its time for selection, age will never matter, but after selection and trying to woo votes, the youth will be remembered as the future leaders. Age matters, an old man has nothing to loose if he fails to do anything, and most information he would be dishing out would be a second class one, he would hardly go to see for himself. There are young leaders such as Peter Obi, Godswill Akpabio, fashola, etc who are very active compared to those old men. What some old men ought to do is to sit aside and give good advices else the youths leadership may come in thier old age. |
doctokwus:and some of Buhari kindsmen have been there since we got independence, what have they done for the igbos? The fact is that Jonathan is not the best, but he is better than those parading themselves as the best. Was Benin-Ore passable-a single road where abt 60% igbos passes on daily basis and on festive periods? But its better than before. Ppl think the govt would just do everything in every region at the same time or period. Just as u want urs to be done, others want theirs too else they will see it as been tribalistic or bias. What u need do is ask ur representatives and legislators what they are really doing over there when other people are getting thiers done. Its just unfortunate that you see some of those represent the southeasterners keeping mute in sessions while others are airing thier view and speaking for their people. |
dcaliph:exactly, no one knows your economy better than your own. IMF makes African govt believes they are dullard. They roll out statistics that instill fear into their target government so they could bow to thier antics. Obasanjo and Goodluck are not fools for allowing Okonjo Iwealla to work for them. She knows them and is not ready to bow to thier tricks. If Goodluck had not bow to pressure by some former PHCN employees to remove Prof. Bath Nnaji, our economy would have been better than what we are having today. |
Galadimabawa:no mind me. I de carried. Just remember say them de always do big boy for us. But make them sorry and take am easy. |
Hahaha! Ghana. But sometimes you do think Nigeria is ur mate. You tend to flex muscle whenever Nigeria does and beats hand on your chest whenever Nigeria tends to be passing through their challenge. Well, now you know its not easy. If Ghana should face the type of challenges Nigeria has been facing, then Naira will be a dollar to them. With Nigeria's numerous challenges, we are still classified as the best in Africa, imagine a Nigeria with little or no challenges. Well make u guys take it jeje |
How do you know Sahara. You have been giving false news since our independence. Nonsense!! |
kenbee:you just said it; "nothing is impossible". If the likes of innoson, a Nigerian can make cars, if some unilag student could design a moving car, if some Niger Delta youth could refine crudes, etc then it is very possible. The question is do you have a brain? There are some youths who are good programmers who if they are given the chance they can do exploits. One problem is , will our indigenous companies and government institutions be ready to patronize and give them a try. Will those companies and government institutions be ready to employ these youth and get the best out of them? |
Zuria:my dear, people demands for pre-paid meters, it has been observed that even some so called "big men" bypass thier connection because they don't want to pay what they used. Some people in face-me-I-face you in combination consumes electricity more than some so called flats and apartments yet they pay very meager and still complain that the bill is much. Pre-paid meter is more costly than postpaid because you will still pay the fixed charge, u hardly use a hot-plate, AC, electric iron, bulb, electric kettle etc. So what is the need. |
MacluvPH:hahahahaha. Funny guy! |
I am in full support of the police and military paying bills. These government bodies have not been speaking up whenever the people complains except when they leaves office you will then hear thier voices in situations like pension, poor state of the roads, poor local government administration, high tariff etc. With them paying bills, I see them fighting for themselves and the people, I see many organizations becoming serious and taking responsibilities, I see improvement in the power situation as well as their services, moderate tariff and I see the power companies also smiling to the banks. |
OmoEniafelamo:and are u saying he is not making sense? This is a well known fact. For the fact that there was a Muslim-Muslim ticket in 1993 which brought Mko and Kingibe does not mean it will come to reality in this present Nigeria maybe it can in the future when politicians are no more desperate to be in that seat of power. Then It happened because ppl were just tired of the military system being practiced-the killings, jailing, less freedom etc and for now that some Muslims have displayed thier skills in killing innocent souls and even threatening to do more to Islamize the country, hmmm many people will not even dare it. Why not attempt a Christian-Christian ticket since a muslim-muslim had won before or are there no better Christians in the north and south? Imagine a 73 year old military taking power! If he does anything silly when hr wins, he won't mind after all, how many years does he need to live on this planet before getting his virgins. Buhari should go and be an elder statesman like his fellows. People complain that Nigeria has so much money, how much do we have? Divide a budget of 3trillion by 165million and judge if Nigeria truly is rich compared to those countries with little population to a similar budget to Nigeria. Those former military men placed us in our predicament and yet they are not satisfied. Until those key military men leaves this planet earth, Nigerians may still be living in fears. APC party can combine anyone possible, GEJ will win. |

These senate are sometimes funny. What happened to allocations and funds for security and development in the budget. The east is been swallowed up by gully erosion, the south south suffering from pollution, Lagos is been washed by the ocean, and the north suffering from desertification yet money is about to be channeled for a wrong course. |
No matter how some people see it, Obi has taking the best move ever for the interest of the Anambarians and Igbos in general. He never disagreed with what Bianca said, but gave reasons why he need to leave. Obi played a good role in developing Anambra, he played a good role in installing an APGA governor, he drew the federal presence to Anambra notwithstanding he was not a member of the ruling party then. Do they want his career to be destroyed because he wants to remain in APGA? Meanwhile all those including Bianca accusing him of betrayal should tell us why they have to receive appointments from a PDP led govt? Some Anambarians and igbos in Nigeria and even out of the country should tell us why they are not developing the east but help to develop other cities? They should tell us why they are not coming back home and demand for what they believe in rather making statements and incisive ones from their comfort zones away from home? Today almost all towns have town halls in Lagos and other part, they do a whole Igbo day celebration in Lagos rather than in any part of the east. Some of they claim Eze-Igbo in cities rather than home. Most of build and help develop other cities leaving thier home to be taking by erosion yet calling a man that have done well and is still doing well a betrayal? Are all these once accusing Obi, taking political positions and running from their fathers land not betraying Ojukwu and what he wants for the Igbos race? For me, Obi is on the right part I don't care what some people thinks, there are many platform to achieve the course of the igbo man. So they shouldn't be myopic and and learn to seal thier mouths in public. |
MadCow1:I wouldn't be surprise when the disease of a mad cow infects a self claimed man, He tends to misunderstand and attack without a word to justify his points. Go and crucify Baba Adeboye because he said what he is sure of. Sadist |
If this information is something to go by, do people expect him to say what he is not sure of, just like so many pastors who were hasty in crucifying Oritshajafor? So many people especially the APC would have rejoiced if he had said otherwise, but Pastor Adeboye took time before making this statement because I believe he would consulted Oritshajafor and be very clear on the matter. Though Oritshajafor romance with the presidency is too obvious, which personally I loathe, but Baba Adeboye is a good Christian and haven't abandoned his friend in this trying times. Some member churches in CAN ought to have come together as a body and find out the truth from him rather than backing out just like a minister in the catholic said they did, expose the truth, penalize him if need be and apologize to Nigerians. Christians in Nigeria should be the brothers keeper and correct in love not in rejection and jealousy if need be. Thank God for Baba Adeboye. |
Except he wants to be an informant for the PDP when he enters APC, but I think his body movements have spoken what his heart is desiring and his mouth is practicing to say. He should leave so the PDP will know those loyal to the party. Tambuwal I personally believe will not be instrumental to the victory of GEJ, his romance with the opposition is so obvious. |
Funny explanation and justification of indebtedness. 1. Loan is good for development, but for a state like Lagos, 160billion is not encouraging notwithstanding the huge monthly IGR. 2. Fed published to mislead d public according to him, but some media houses sponsored by the APC as well as Fashola himself never saw anything good been done by the Federal government, is this not misleading and dishonesty? 3. LASG supplied poles, bulbs, diesels.. By fashola, was it not expected that any govt with good taste of aesthetic would provide lights in streets and also maintain them even without borrowing to do such, why is providing those such a big deal in the case of LASG? Are they the first to provide those things? 4. Please let us understand the issue of Badagry-mile2-orile, what is the stake of Ecowas in the project? I have heard they made fund available to fund it because it links the other Ecowas states. 5. Is Lagos state the only state where govt have built schools, hospitals etc. Other states have federal institutions yet they are running without the state saying the borrowed to give them light, water etc. Fashola should not use that as an excuse to borrow, its cheap to the ear. 6. Now rather than clearly and in details justify the over 160billion and cover the shame brought to APC govt, fashola diverted into attacking the Fed govt politically just to blackmail them. If I may ask Fashola, as a claimed wise governor or a government of APC that he mans, since the fed govt agreed states should borrow, if the fed ask them to plunge into the lagoon, i believe they would do exactly that, because I know, Peter Obi governed Anambra state without a debt but rather left over 30billion for the state. I love fashola at his bold stride, but for this loan and indebtedness he plunged the state into notwithstanding the monthly IGR, its a NO NO for me. States that are Progressive ought to develop and still leave some amount behind for the next administration to use, not plunging the state into debt of such magnitude. Ekiti is owing about 57billion, Lagos is owing 160billion, I heard Imo is owing too as well as Rivers state. Are these politicians of the APC state really progressive as they call themselves or are they just propagandist party who just intentionally cover thier ears and mouth to the good things the FED is doing? GEJ is not better, but some of these APC governors and even thier green snake presidential candidates are less than good. |
I thought the APC refused to join in the conference for a new constitution? I also heard most of them saying the report will not see the light of the day and its dead on arrival? why are they ready to approve what they never accepted and classified dead?Funny sets of Clowns! meanwhile, what happen to the issue of making the business of legislature in Nigeria a part-time one; will they not approve that or is it because it will be affecting them seriously? If they believe the delegates did a good job, then they should pass all thier recommendations or are they trying to tell us they are wiser than those wise men and women because they are still in position of authority? my conclusion is this, our legislature are more corrupt than any political office holders else let them start with those reports that affects them then move on to the others. Nice and a bold step though. |
I love this thread. If our media houses, individuals just as the nairalanders could direct the attention of the governments to thier various responsibilities scattered in different zones, states and localities just like this and never relent until they are done, then many places will be developed and the immigration Lagos, Abuja is experiencing will be reduced. Nice one OP. |
adino:I am laughing too in different concoction of languages. I thought they say PDP are full of daft Politicians? APC never see nothing. |
On this, both the PDP and APC have agreed that justice have been delivered. I was wondering was APC thinking Ngilari will be thiers? Now that he has disclosed where he belong, I am waiting to hear from Lia Mohammed. On Nyako; I think he is day dreaming to be a governor again when the court never made any provision for him since he resigned-he can't eat his cake and have it. Politics is a very funny game, if I am not mistaken, is Festus Keyamo not Ngilari's lawyer and an APC member or sympathizer for that matter? Funny! See how money could make politicians shoot thier feet with their own guns. APC as a party is full of confused bunch of ingrates. Now Ngilari is the governor, I believe in 2015, he would want to contest. APC get ready to receive Nuhu Ribadu back as well as Nyako because PDP will not replace a loyal Ngilary for any politician who is not loyal to the core. |
oneeast2:I kind of agree with u but I am looking at a situation whereby the middle belt would get the presidency before the southeast. But it is all good. He said he would rather be a competitor rather than a spectator. Peter obi have shown good leadership style. He worked diligently for the party till the very end. He helped APGA to win the seat of power in Anambra and made sure the party was not in crisis before leaving. He didn't cross carpet because it was an election time so he could use some political blackmail to bite the hands that fed him; he was simply sensible. He displayed to some party prostitutes that there is a need to be loyal to their party even when things are not working well. Well Obi have finished his job for APGA but I believe he still love the party, but then, the interest of his people- the igbos and Nigeria at large supercedes the interest of a party. Obi needs a platform where he would have the better opportunity to take his leadership prowess to a greater level. Obi is fit to be a president of Nigeria from the Igbo extraction and APGA cannot offer him that opportunity. PDP is fast enough to come to him else the opposition could come with anything possible to lure him to be theirs. So people from the southeast who expected Obi to have remained in APGA should not feel bad, the man means well for us and we ought not to complain but rather support him. Lets leave the complains to APGA Members who directly enjoys the gains, I mean money. But this does not stop APGA From taking over imo and abia next year. We should understand that APGA is simply the immediate younger brother to PDP. |
slap1: As an Anglican, I'm ashamed. Is this really necessary?what do u mean ashamed? Is the Anglican church not right? Has President GEJ failed in distributing resources fairly? How many of his kinsmen are in his cabinet? Are the roads been constructed in his hometown or state alone? Are the airports been remodeled in his state? Is the rail way tracks passing through his state? The developments in agriculture especially fertilizers, how does it favour a fishermen in the south south? Are the almagiri schools in Bayelsa or the south south? Is the INEC chairman electoral reforms favouring only the Bayesians? See, I am an Anglican and I hate when people are bias and pessimistic. Don't just hate someone because you heard people say why they hated him for unsubstantiated reasons; don't follow the bandwagon, make ur own judgment and criticize constructively. I hail the Anglican church for that, GEJ is not the best, but I believe oneday he would be counted as one. May God bless him and sustain him. |
bobo65: yesterday d governor was commended for d improvement in security, now thisnothing is wrong with Anambra. It happens everywhere so don't make it seem as if its peculiar to Anambra. People should do what is right; obey traffic, don't drink and drive, dnt give nor receive bribes, dnt dump refuse indiscriminately etc and see if Anambra or the country is wrong or if law breakers are insane. Anambra is getting better. Be positive |
ROCKJ1: After paying 27 million you still lose the election ... what a waste of funds.the anger causes many of them to engage in post election violence |
I see pain some where, but I am trying to fathom if it is against GEJ, CAN president or the state of the nation. With all due respect Cardinal, you said you are not a prophet so I guess its a personal thought and feelings according to you. GEJ never said he is negotiating with terrorist but if it will secure the release of the girls I believe he would be ready or would you want the girls to die in Sambisa? It was in the watchful eyes of CAN when Cardinal was in active service and during babangida regime that our nation was mortgage to OIC yet some Catholics were there and found nothing wrong with it; today there negligence is costing the Christian communities in the northeast so many lives and properties and even threatening our nation. If you saw the handwriting on the wall abt oritshajafor and yet nothing was done about it, who is then to be blame? Some priests in the south and christians are selfish, how many of them have been to those troubled north to show sympathy to those Christians and others to boost thier belief in Christianity. If the president failed to have done so, why not some priest in the Christendom after all Christ and some whites sacrificed thier lives for us. The cardinal made personal feelings known but no solution. But the last time I checked, God do not reveal everything to all man of God. compared to the previous administrations, GEJ has been better off even in the face of killings and propaganda caused by the passage of FOI bills though I don't expect everyone including priest to agree to it. Orisajafor is not the only one with jet, mind me I am not holding brief for him but the bible says correct in love. Is the cardinal telling me backing out of CAN is the solution to the failure of CAN or the country at large? If Goodluck is not the right person who then; Is it Atiku or Buhari? This country started decaying in the watchful eyes of the previous administrations, yet the cardinal never sighted instances were he advised the president at that time or does he expect this president to turn the decays in four years; was Rome built in four years? Even if the elections has not been 100% better, can the previous elections be compared to the once we are having now? Cardinal flies and drives in federal roads, what is the state of our fed airport and roads compared to OBJ administration? The schools have received more money from this govt than any previous administration, what has the cardinal has to say? Our agriculture is receiving a boost with silos, and rice mills built what has the cardinal has to say. For corruption, I cannot hold brief for the president because I don't know much about that but there could be a better way of siphoning money, if the president had wanted to, not even with oritshajafors jet. He could have done so with his private jet and in his trips.for the killings in the north, if we fold our hands to think that God will descend to fight for us, then we should go and ask the Israelis while they are still fighting to defend themselves; We need to speak and defend ourselves. Personally I don't take all what some priests say seriously, they have personal feelings, shortcomings like everyone else so I am not surprise at his comments. Except he is a pessimist, I expect the the cardinal to point out some progress of this administration to balance the negative statement he had made. He should tell us what the federal and other govt including the states and local government who receives allocations too should be doing in order to move the country forward nit just to paint the fed. govt black while they all have failed. No one is perfect, in one way (God forgive me) priests have aided corruption in this country else when a man comes to pay tithe, make billions of donations, and offerings and you as a priest never asked how he got the money or you as a priest failed to received money from those who made I'll gotten wealth then you are or once part of it. Catholic church use to be in the forefront of humanitarian service but where is the free medical service, where is the free sch etc. Let change our value system for better to move this country forward. God forgive me if I have spoken against the priest some how but it is my candid view. |
Space booked |
My candid opinion is that the United states is the one behind the insurgence in the north. They are the one funding them both in cash and ammunition. The United state deceived Nigeria govt that they are here to help, but rather came to supply weapons and cash to those Camels called Boko Haram as they noticed that the security was beefed up then, else why is the sect so powerful and more equipped immediately they left? After thier visit, no single impact nor report on that. They later intended to use the clown from Australia to cause a clash between the north and the east, as they believe the igbos may still be willing to fight for succession yet its failing. They decided to stop the importation of oil from Nigeria for no good reason, yet out country Economy is booming. On the case of Ebola, they used Sawyer to bring disease, and expected it will destroy us so we can beg for their help, they also made words of mouth and no impact, yet without drugs we are defeating the disease. Now, Ammunition. Why all these! U.S. Why? Just because we refused to sign the gay right law which is forbidden by God or what? But they should bear in mind, if they have one, that there are other Countries that are ready to do business with Nigeria if they stop. They are other countries like china, Indian that would want to supply ammunition to Nigeria if they fail. They should also understand that US citizens are scattered everywhere and could be victims at any time just as they have been in the middle east. And finally they should take heed, lest they fall as many countries would love to be the most powerful nation of the world just as they are enjoying and misusing it now. And my advice to our dear governments they should not be deterred. They should look downward, inward, upward and forward, whatsoever they find that would benefit our country, they should use it. They should start tapping the untapped resources, using the dormant but powerful and active human resources. They should develop more on research especially using our herbs to develop drugs to cure us of our diseases. They shouldn't be all that doll in the hands. Let them emulate Zimbabwe. Finally, the governments at all level should try as much as possible to win the trust of all Nigerians and we the citizens should give the government our best. We have no other country, but Nigeria. |
1. Address all the angers in the society. My question on this is what are the angers in the society and who are those angry and to whom. Again even in a civilize society, is it possible to address all the angers? 2. Secondly, when the president called for a national conference, award given, why did the APC shun them and even ask its members not to participate? 3. Why did the APC boycotted the passage of this years budget? who are they angry at, Goodluck, PDP or the past Presidents who failed to address our problems. He should think for a more better statements to make. |
