What I noticed when I observed public waste bin in less than one hour.

Witnessing the unfortunate situation today reminds of palliatives looting from various warehouses during #EndSARS last year and Lai Mohammed and Femi Adeshina later came out to say even though Nigerians were seen scampering for food items does not mean any Nigerians are eating from the waste bin. Today, I have a proof for them and their APC government.

So I left house this morning to meet someone who had promised to link me up with someone who can help my unemployed status. Having reached the place early enough, I called to notify but I was told to hang on there and I found a place and sat down.

Looking around, I noticed a public waste bin and in no time, condemned iron pickers with their truck entered the place and ransacked everywhere in search for iron and other condemned household items. While they were still there, some kids presumably homeless joined them in search for rotten food. I could see them picking things from the bin and directly into their mouths and until no other to pick again before they left. Just as though the bin has regained its freedom from the attack of the street urchins, immediately, I saw an elderly woman ransacking the same bin in search for woods presumably to be used as firewood (a kg of cooking gas now is N600 and Kerosene N450). While she was still trying to pick her interest, a man with wheelbarrow pushed into the place with a heap of cartons/paper materials. He parked and ransacked the same bin for cartons and any paper material thing. He greeted the elderly woman and they both had conversation which I really didn't know what they discussed before they finally left together.

As all these were happening, I had no choice than to still wait for "my helper". Before I knew, another set of women came to visit the same bin. These ones, their interest was on plastic bottles and nylon/waterproof materials. They picked as much was available before they left.

Not long from then, a new visitor to the bin was another child in search for rotten food not knowing early birds have already taken all that were available. I felt so bad and disturbing seeing what was going on there so I was eager to leave the place. Just then, the person called me that I should be going back to my house that the appointment can no longer hold today.

As I made move to pass the bin, the underage greeted me and added "Oga abeg help me with N50 make I take buy something chop". I felt pity for him. This boy is too young for this. Ideally, he should be under the care of his parents. Anyways, even though I was left with only my transport fare, I couldn't pass and I gave him N200.

Wow!!! Honestly I left the place very disappointed and broken down physically and mentally.

Disappointed due to the cancelled appointment and mental breakdown due to the gory site of where some Nigerians now resort to sourcing for means livelihood. Indeed, IMO, this country is a terrible place. It's structured to favour very few and that is why we are still the way we are today and until normalcy and sanity is forcefully returned by eliminating those who have spoilt and reduced the country to this mockery stage, I see no changes where some Nigerians would not have to sleep with empty stomach and start a new day by picking things from waste bins while others spend public funds sleeping in world best hotels in and outside the country.

As I'm typing this, I can't tell how many other persons have continued to visit the same waste bin afterwards and other waste bins in search for source of survival. Rather, this has forced me to ask myself, is this the dream of the founding fathers of Nigeria? Unemployment? Poverty? Frustration? Sourcing livelihood from thrash bins?

I rest my case!!!

This simply shows the colossal failure of our security system in Nigeria. If a Major in the Army can be kidnapped in his own terrain (military school), and then succumbed to the witt of these bandits by paying a huge ransome to secure his freedom, what then would be the security fate of the average Nigerian out there .
Kidnapping in Nigeria has been a cankerworm that has eaten so deep into the fabric of the country, and has has made us as a reference to a country in security failure in the global world.


A whole EFCC chairman has the gut to conceal the identity of the sponsors of these heinous crimes, on the ground that it will not be safe for the country's unity/stability. So illogical to the core and absurd to say.


Where exactly is this country heading to

Lol. I can relate. I do it as well sometimes and I think it's something my parents have subconsciously instilled in me, as a courtesy gesture. I don't know if it's right or wrong sha. You don't want to appear like a wild and famished animal, or that you only came to their place to eat (their) food. You no eat before leaving your house? And it depends on the kind of meeting too.

After I have initially, but 'politely' ignored the offer, I'll acknowledge and put it down beside me or on the table first, then ignore again for another round and the host will be like, 'eat your food; you haven't started eating?' 'Oh, I will eat, ma... it's hot, it's this, my stomach...This movie...' and I'll go back to watching the TV, genuinely, though. There are even some guests that will come to your house and NOT touch any of the drinks or meats you put before them. I always pray for that sha, na that one dey sweet me, because I know I'll get to deal with them later. After all, if the guests had eaten it, it won't be there anymore, so mummy, let me eat it.

It depends on different social cues sha, but as a norm, you're not going to your guest's house to eat. I mean, eating, as in your main meal and such. The food is a refreshment added to the main reason for the gathering's purpose.

It's courtesy for you to offer, it's courtesy for you to decline. Exceptions apply though.

As expected, as is the norm: the whites are busy etching their mark in the sands of civilization, creating beneficial tech, while the black man is cursed with religion (islam and Christianity) , coupled with the deadly virus called tribalism. I've come to the conclusion that we blacks are 'technologically' inferior to the white man.

Our firm was called upon to correct the cracks on the first-floor slab (decking) of an abandoned building which was left uncompleted for a very long time.
After inspecting the cracks, we got to realise that the cracks were due to poor edge and continuous reinforcements for the hogging moments near the beams, thus leading to serious deflections which caused such cracks.

Now, our firm is supposed to correct such anomalies, and also to complete the building.

I am the one that is supposed to come up with a good Long-Lasting solution to the problem.

How can someone take care of the problems?
(Should I crack open the slabs in order to introduce more reinforcement rods?? Or are there better alternatives to salvage the situation??)

Hello my nairaland family. I'll make this post short & precise... I buried my dad around april this year.

Am the only available child, as my elder brother relocated abroad in january & has refused to make contact. I took a loan to sponsor my bro's trip abroad, & also took another loan from my bank to partly sponsor the burial as all the family burden rested on my shoulders..

Last month, my dad appeared in a dream telling me to hurry up in paying a vow he made in church of abt 50k before he died. I was warming up to pay the vow this month's ending as am stil servicing the loans i got from my bank.

He appeared last week to remind me but yesterday night's own came with severe flocking. Am stil feeling the pains from the cain he used at my back & joints..

How do i contain him before month end when i'll be bouyant to pay the vow.

Am afraid he may return with more beatings,. & am jst 30yrs old, & wouldnt want to have any part of my body deformed as a result.

Your suggestions wil be greatly appreciated!

Doctors in the house, abeg make una educate me more..

When it comes to your health or diet, doctors and researchers advise/encourage us to drink lot and lot of water because of the health benefit it gives, rather than in take of coke and sugary substance...

I tried putting this advice into practice so many times.
First thing in the morning after devotion or before stepping out for work, I make sure I drink at least 2 glass cup of water..

But one thing I have come to notice is that, after drinking enough water before stepping out, the rate at which I use the gent (urinate) is quiet higher than when I don't even drink water in the morning.. Within 1hr, I would have make use of the gent like 3-4 times, till like 12pm before I return back to norm..

So I began to wonder, is something wrong with my system or do I need to go for any check up or that's how it suppose to be

I tried making some findings on google, but I could not lay my hands on something convincing enough.

So Please doctors in the house, educate me more,
Am I in good shape or I still need a medical check up??

I know se some fellaz go still yab me, it is allow..

They have access to church assets like Jets and Choppers like a company board of Directors with paid annual vacations and several perks
