I have always talked about the bias and nonsensical reportage of news from daily trust newspaper. All they do is initiate or fuel crises with religious sentiments and it has become more of an islamic religion newspaper instead of a circular one. i will always remember their bias reportage of the jos crises. I am glad today that a state government has banned their reporter from reporting in jigawa state. Pls i call on other state government to do same. Daily trust newspaper is a propaganda newspaper. Hardly seen a newspaper where all the staff are muslims including all the management. This is a case of what goes around, comes around. Congrats Governor lamido. |
Daily Trust newspapers’ correspondent in Jigawa State Malam Yusha’u Ibrahim has been posted out of the state and no replacement will be posted there until further notice, the Media Trust management announced in Abuja yesterday. It said the move was in response to “security concerns arising from hostile events emanating from the state government.” Early yesterday, the Director of Press Affairs in the Dutse Government House Alhaji Umar Kyari called in Ibrahim and conveyed to him a decision to ban him from covering any event or activity at which Governor Sule Lamido is in attendance. Kyari said the decision was arrived at the State Executive Council meeting on Monday. He gave no reasons for the action. According to Kyari, the Daily Trust reporter is however free to report on other activities anywhere in Jigawa State provided Governor Lamido is not present. He also suggested that Ibrahim “could rely on his colleagues” to obtain stories from events at which he is banned. Last night, Kyari confirmed to Daily Trust’s editor that the order was indeed handed down. Media Trust’s Editor-in-Chief Malam Mannir Dan Ali said yesterday that the arrangement was unacceptable and that it poses security risks to the reporter and to Daily Trust’s robust reporting activities in Jigawa State. He said even though there are a lot of activities that the newspaper could cover apart from government activities, the hostile posture of the state government poses security risks. He said in the light of this unfortunate turn of events, the company would not post any reporter to Jigawa State. There were no immediate indications as to why the Jigawa State government took this action, though Governor Sule Lamido had expressed unhappiness at some reports and opinion articles published by Daily Trust and its sister titles in recent months. http://www.dailytrust.dailytrust.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=19986:daily-trust-suspends-reporting-from-jigawa-state&catid=1:news&Itemid=2 |
BORING BORING BORING . . . . . But guys, somehow i believe there is a third house, where so called evicted housemates go to which will remain unknown for now. Guess thats the amplification. |
maddock:maddock has hit the nail on the head. Bank MD's are no fools. They are in for business. Ohakim's era has passed. These Bank MD's cannot afford to loose government business for the next four or possibly eight years. They can keep playing Ohakim for the next two weeks by begging or telling him to understand their predicament. bank no be charity oh! |
GenBuhari:Guy, your username alone sells you out to be biased in all this. If you categorically said CPC did not use underage voters in the north, then am sorry your posts on nairaland lacks credibility and will be treated as such. Where is your own evidence that PDP used underage voters in the north? Lets stop all this biased posts and think of Nigeria for once! |
mikeywise:Guy, which trial are you talking about? how dare you compare the crimes of Saddam to that of Osama? Was Saddam a terrorist? Were his crimes ever outside his country? How can a human being with very painful and gruesome manner kill over 3000 innocent humans ( including children and pregnant women) on thesame day and at once and you are talking about he should have been tried? If your wife and son were part of the dead you wouldn't write what you just did. If Osama did not think human life sacred why should his be thought so. Abegi! |
Sincerely speaking, all the bla bla bla we are uttering here will change nothing. But lets point out some truth. 1. PDP rigged the election 2. CPC too rigged the election 3. The smartest rigger had the day 4. CPC initiated, supported, encouraged and even attempted justifying the violence before and after the elections. 5. CPC should allow the elected government face the task they were elected for by giving up all the court tribunal brouhaha 6. PDP should also know that this era is not business as usual, they must show that those who died during the elections is not in vane by getting to work with intent to bring about serious development. 7. Jonathan should put technocrats as ministers and not just human beings please! 8. Buhari should bury his sword, congratulate the president and offer his services towards a better Nigeria. |
abibio2001:Guy, were you expecting a sentence llike '' Jonathan wanted to win at all cost, that was why we killed and destroyed properties". When you read an article, read between the lines and you'll uncover what its not being said. Have you heard of deductive reasoning before? Read what the CPC lawyer said " CPC Legal Adviser, Abubakar Malami, said: “To us in the CPC, it is our belief that the breakdown of law and order that ensued after the declaration of President Goodluck Jonathan as the president-elect on the basis of concocted results was the by-product of the determination to win elections by incumbents by any means which has always characterised such actions by historical antecedence. By deductive reasoning this is what he meant. " Jonathan wanted to win the elections by any means and historical antecedence has taught us that one sure way of curbing such acts by incumbents is using the breakdown of law and order gateway'' You need another evidence? read this by thesame lawyer. “Our national history has however taught us that the determination to win elections by incumbents by any means has always given birth to spontaneous reactions in the form of breakdown of law and order". What he is trying to say hear is this " We are students of history, we simply cashed in on what history has taught us to work" you need more? Read this by thesame liar, sorry lwayer Malami said CPC could not sit by and allow electoral misdemeanours wreaking the very foundation of the country’s stability, prosperity and unity to continue unchecked forever Invariably what he's saying is that '' we couldnt as cpc sit down and just watch things, we needed to stand up and register our displeasure by using historical antecedence" |
Congress of progressive chaos indeed! These are the guys that wanted to govern Nigeria. AAAh! Na God save us oh! |
ABUJA — Stakeholders of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, 72 hours ago, rose from a crucial meeting in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, where a free-for-all almost broke out. The stakeholders have called on the party’s leadership to quickly announce a date for a special national convention of the party where new members of the party’s national exco would be elected. Some stakeholders in the party physically assaulted some members of the party’s National Executive Committee, NEC, leading to an abrupt end of the meeting. Some NEC members of the party in attendance scampered to escape being assaulted by the aggrieved stakeholders. Trouble started at the meeting which commenced at about 3 p.m. last Tuesday in a hotel at the Utako District of the FCT, when some stakeholders from the floor shouted down Dr Sule Yahya Hamma, Director General of the Muhammadu Buhari Presidential Campaign Council, as he tried to “intimate participants that the meeting was essentially called to assess how the party faired in the recently concluded general elections and that the meeting was called to also inform them on the resolve of the party to seek judicial challenge on the 2011 presidential election among others.” Some participants shouted at Hamma and told him to “shut up,” while others shouted in hausa language “Karya ne (it’s a lie).” While Hamma attempted to call the participants who were already demonstrating signs of restiveness to order, he was reportedly told to “sit down.” Vanguard learnt that “similar fate was visited on some other exco members that wanted to make any comment too, including Prince Tony Momoh, national chairman of the party. But when Abubakar Yabo, gubernatorial candidate for and representing CPC, Sokoto State chapter, called on the exco members to resign forthwith, he “received the applause of most of the participants.” Another participant called for a vote of no confidence on the exco members. This outburst was said to have led the Deputy National Chairman, Mustafa Salihu to warn “that participants should know how to talk ay such a gathering, and that they should stop behaving as if they love the party more than the leaders of the party” but this further angered the participants. Bedlam ensued. Some participants rushed to the high table where some exco members were seated, reaching for Salihu and Buba Galadima, the party’s national secretary. Sensing that matters were getting out of hand, Dr. Hamma tried to bring the meeting to a close by “reminding the participants of the evening prayers” but he was rebuffed as the aggrieved participants called on him and the entire leadership of the party to resign. Most of the exco members scampered for safety afterwards. Vanguard leant that the participants were particularly angry at the party leaders because of the rancour which greeted some of the primaries of the party leading to its woeful display at the polls last month. Leading the meeting were Momoh, Salihu, Hamma, Galadima, Sadia Farouk Mahmud (f), Abu Mai_Kano, Tanko Al_Makura, the party’s only governor_elect from Nasarawa State, Hadi Sirka, Abu Ibrahim, Dambalki Cammanda, Yabo and Joi Nuniye (f). General Buhari, the CPC presidential candidate was expected at the meeting but he never showed up. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/05/cpc-stakeholders-meeting-ends-in-chaos/ |

The only handover date that is really called handover in nigeria is that of the president. The handover date is not and cannot be shaken. |
Atiku is trying to soften the heart of the federal Government because he probably got aware that investigations into the root cause of the planned post election violence are well in advance stages and some confessions have been made. He wants to placate Jonathan and also so that nigerians will see him in a different light. The people who sponsored the planned post election violence are known and it wont be long . . . . . . |
13volts:@13 volts, where are you? You said i know nothing about politics in the north. But suprisingly what i said actually happened. PDP won the gubernatorial elections in kaduna. Check all my posts on politics on nairaland. All my predictions about politics based on sound deductions always happens the way i say them. My guy, i have all the politics in the north on my finger tips. Please remember to send the kaduna PDP governor a congratulatory message. cheers. |
JaaizTech:Are you ok? which CPC won? common wake up! well for your information PDP won in kaduna. I said it earlier, it would be difficult for CPC to win kaduna. The next thing i will also say is that, the only CPC governor in nassarawa state is getting set to decamp to PDP. A minute silence for CPC pls. |
13volts:@13faults, I can assure you that CAN will never send text msgs to anyone on whom to vote for neither will they say that in any sermon. The only sense you made in your post is in bold. If only people will think like you in this regard. KAduna gubernatorial is not a do or die thing. Any kaduna state indigene can become governor irrespective of his religion. and bros, stop deceiving that your' christian babe' and little wonder you don't care who wins in kd. |
From all indications so far and the CPC shooting herself on the leg, it will be very difficult for CPC to capture kaduna. The candidate the CPC is fielding is from southern kaduna too same as the governor and there were texts messages purportedly sent by the MUSLIM UMMA urging fellow muslims not to vote for the CPC candidate even though being a muslim he's not a hausa muslim but from southern kaduna. They as the text carried urged their members to vote for the ANPP candidate instead. Now this is already causing confusion. Also with the upturn of events in kano where it was thot the CPC would win but didnt rather the PDP, the kaduna people may have a rethink to vote in CPC. Dont also forget that it would be a disgrace to Namadi Sambo if kaduna does not go the PDP way so am sure high level consultation would have taken place which should usher in the PDP. I am not sure kaduna people wouldnt want to loose the extra attention it would get from the Federal Govt by going the PDP way. Everyone knows today that the CPC as a party is only waiting for the burial rights to be performed on her. The party is already dead. |
~Bluetooth:@Bluetooth, i gave out the reasons why the drugs were banned and even rolled out the WHO recommended/ministry of health approved antimalarial drugs. I used the chemical components of the drugs and not their marketing names. the post was deleted, I was banned with my posting rights withdrawn. I had to ask why the ban? i wasn't told why but my posting right was released. |
dominique:Don't mis-inform people. That is not the reason the drugs were banned. If you know nothing about this topic, simply keep quiet and allow people that know contribute meaningfully. |
MOD, Wait! i dont understand. I gave a very non biased and cautious response to the banning of some antimalaria drugs only for my post to be deleted and my posting rights withdrawn. can you point out why i was banned? You cant ban and unban me without a reason. I demand to know why i was banned. if its a mistake i demand an apology. Else you are simply INCOMPETENT as a moderator. BAN ME AGAIN! MSCHEWWW! |
The reasons for the banning of artemisinin monotherapies, sulfadoxine pyrimethamine and chloroquine is tied to the build up of resistance of the malaria parasite. But note that sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine 2nd and 3rd trimesters) and chloroquine( All trimesters) are still the recommended medications in pregnancy The current therapies we have now are being safe guarded against the malaria parasite building resistance to them. i tell you the truth, if the current approved antimalaria drugs fail again we are in for trouble. And yes, the WHO can regulate drugs worldwide. NAFDAC for your information collaborates on a high level with the WHO and in some instances answerable to the WHO even if not directly. The recommended antimalaria drugs are as listed below. but please note that self medication is highly discouraged. You have to be confirmed to having malaria before you take these antimalaria drugs. if not you'll be contributing to the build up of resistance. These drugs are not for prophylaxis ( not for prevention) but for treatment of established malaria case. Pharmacies and the laboratories can test you for malaria. 1. Artemether lumefantrine combination drug 2. Artesunate amodiaquine combination. 3. Quinine for celebral malaria and even in pregnancy ( consult the pharmacist or the doctor first). others that can also be used are 1. Artesunate -sulfadoxine combination 2. artesunate- piperaquine combination. NOTE: DO NOT SELF MEDICATE. CONSULT YOUR PHARMACIST OR DOCTOR BEFORE TAKING ANY MEDICATION. |
Guys, there seems to be no news yet about the polls in plateau. Please i want to know how the labour party gubernatorial candidate, Hajiya Fatima Paullen Tallen is faring at the polls. |

. He is a public figure and where He comes from exactly is not unknown to the najority of the people in the state or the CPC cheiftains. This was a cheap propanganda from either ACN or PDP, you should see how people are jubiliating for the CPC victory, even though not official. It is in the air that CPC has won
