Boko Haram, the dreaded Islamist group have said the only way for a possible negotiation with the government is for president Goodluck Jonathan to repent as a Muslim, foreclosing any possible negotiation with the Government.

Leader of the sect, Imam Abubakar Shekau in a Youtube video in response to the President’s request for a dialogue, threatened "If Jonathan does not repent as a Muslim, even if I die myself, Jonathan's going to see. He's looking at me like I'm nobody, but he'll see.

Shekau said he will enjoy killing anyone “Allah instruct me to kill like a chicken…”

The message allegedly posted to the Internet by the leader of a radical Islamist sect in Nigeria threatened President Goodluck Jonathan and denied its members killed Muslim civilians in an attack last week that left at least 185 people dead.

The Associated Press reports that the video posted to YouTube, shows a still image of Imam Abubakar Shekau sitting on a beige sofa, a Kalashnikov rifle at his back.

Speaking at times in Arabic, English and the Hausa language of Nigeria's Muslim north, Shekau said negotiations suggested by President Goodluck Jonathan between the sect and the government will not happen.

"He's lying. He cannot do it," Shekau said. "If Jonathan does not repent as a Muslim, even if I die myself, Jonathan's going to see. He's looking at me like I'm nobody, but he'll see."

In the message, Shekau acknowledged that Boko Haram carried out the January 20 attacks in Kano, Nigeria's second-largest city that killed at least 185 people.

Gunmen from the sect armed with explosives and assault rifles, some wearing army and police uniforms, others suicide car bombers, attacked police stations, immigration offices and the local headquarters of Nigeria' secret police.

However, Shekau denied killing civilians in the attack, claiming the sect's gunmen tried to protect the more than nine million people who live in the important city in Nigeria's north.

"We're killing police officers, we're killing soldiers and other government people who are fighting Allah and Christians who are killing Muslims and talking badly about our Islamic religion," Shekau said.

"I am not against anyone, but if Allah asks me to kill someone, I will kill him and I will enjoy killing him like I am killing a chicken," he said.

what a shame. The Government showed itself very weak and not united when Azazi ruled out negotiations with the boko haram only for GEJ to tell them to show their faces for negotiation the following day.
IT IS A BIG SLAP ON GEJ FOR BOKO HARAM TO BE THE DETERMINANTS AS TO WHETHER OR NOT TO HOLD NEGOTIATIONS.
If the negotiations hold, GEJ will be negotiating from a weak position.

The man Jonathan wants to appoint is presently a commissioner of police. it would have been too wrong to bring up a commissioner of police as IGP. Jonathan brought up Abubakar an AIG in an acting capacity to clear off all the DIG's. This will further pave way for the promotion of the commissioner of police to become an AIG then susequently to IGP. Abubakar is only acting and will soon be shown the way out.

An Abuja court has granted the NDLEA an extension to keep popular comedian Babatunde Omidina aka Baba Suwe  for fifteen days.

The decision come after the NDLEA operatives claimed new scan have revealed that there is still more drugs in Baba Suwe’s body.

The NDLEA arrested Omidina while he was about to board a plane to Paris at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport  in Lagos, he was arrested and placed under “observation” after a scanning device indicated that he had ingested substances suspected to be hard drugs.

The comedian has since remained under close observation at the NDLEA detention center. The NDLEA said they kept him to until he excretes the narcotic drugs from his system.
This has drawn public scrutiny against the NDLEA and some have criticised them of picking on the actor because of his celebrity.  Yesterday a Lagos –based attorney filed a N1 billion  lawsuit against the NDLEA over Mr. Omidina’s detention.

Agency officials had claimed that they were waiting to check Baba Suwe stool and examine it further before further action can be taken.

Earlier, NDLEA spokesperson, Mitchel ofoyeju told SaharaReporters they had just confidence due to results from recent scans conducted on the comedian
