if mr. President didn't say a thing on the blasts critics will still talk. Moderatorr: Why is attention on the president when kaduna state has a governor and police commisioner? Those people will never do their duties until all attention turn to them. The Juvernor was quick in declaring a curfew but not quick in protecting his people. dolpaz: @Moderatorr, i wonder ooo...i have read all tru 9ja comments and they are all pointing accusing fingers toward Jonathan..what's the governor nd CP doing about it..Lets be quick to hear but slow to speak..If you were the president, what would you do?? are you also gonna behave like OBJ when he Ruined a particular place??let the governor nd police do their work jare !!!Are you guys from the moon? Since when does the governor or commissioner of police have the power to deploy security agents without clearance from aso rock? The so called chief security officer of the state is simply ceremonial. The real deployment of security i from aso rock. Now you know why Mr president is always blamed. |

Mr president sir, everyone has the capacity to be sad and thats not what we elected (elected?)you for. God allowed you to be president, you have the constitution and you are the commander-in-chief of the armed forces and you are still asking God to intervene? You want God to come down from heaven, search for the bombers and their sponsors then prosecute them? Common Mr president, leave God out of this. All you need to stop all these senseless killings is in your power. Haba! you no go wake up! |
Dailytrust with their sensational reporting. They mentioned that suicide bombers attacked churches but were quick to say christian youth burnt down mosques and carried out reprisals. Who told them they were christian youth? Why didnt they mention that muslim suicide bomber attack churches. |
Anyone who wants to lead people aright must be ready to do that even if it means laying down his life. You can never achieve effective leadership of a nation if it has never occurred to you that it may cost you your life. The only reason why corruption has found a more resting place in the administration of Goodluck is because he is afraid. The only reason why bombs go off almost everyday in nigeria with nothing done is because Goodluck is afraid. The only reason why he is afraid is because he does not want to loose his life. A man who is not afraid to loose his life has nothing to fear. I know some goons and irrationally thinking individuals here who have nothing pushing them but regional bias will come in defence of Goodluck. I remember when sharia issue reared its head during OBJ's tenure and Nigerians were shouting about it, OBJ said '' Dont worry nigerians, sharia will die a natural death, I have done my home work well'' and true to his word, sharia is merely dangling in the so called states it was implemented. Goodluck is afraid to step on toes. Question is , how on earth do you intend to run a nation as Nigeria without stepping on toes? Answers is, he doesn't consider dying for his nation a worthy cause. Nigeria is getting more into sham today because Goodluck is doing nothing. Please don't tell me, the responsibility lie on all nigerians. Why are we not all presidents at the same time? look at the oil subsidy scam of 2.6trn. I cant believe that even after the report made it to his table, nothing serious was said or done by him. Isn't that magnitude of scam that few individuals stole about 52% of a nations budget suppose to bring out visible anger in you and assuring nigerians of your concrete mission (if you have one) to straighten things? Yet even when your Minister of justice said ''it's a mere fact finding mission'' you did not deem it fit to caution him. Rather you are only after an unfortunate faruk who was alleged to 'help' himself with a stipend compared with the subsidy scam. Goodluck functions better as a follower, but as a leader am not sure. leading a nation is not about contesting for election, winning and carrying yourself around to be addressed as president. It is about putting your feet on the ground not minding whose ox is gored and bringing out transformations that will propel your nation forward and making your nation a pride in the committee of nations. No country being led by a selfish leader ever achieved anything great. Goodluck does not deserve a second term, and nothing on ground shows that with time anything will be on ground to suggest that he has an idea of what he is doing or he should do. His Goodluck brought him to presidency, and am sure we all by now know that we do not need good luck to run any nation. We need a fighter, a dogged individual who parades beyond a Phd. This write up is out of sincere love for my nation and is not ethnic or religion motivated. Please you are free to agree or disagree with me but let it not be out of regional or religious bias. Lets talk fact and figures. Thank you. |
Who are these govt agents on nairaland? Nigeria had about 2300MW in 1999, and today it has peaked at about 3200MW. PDP govt has only added 1000MW in all the 13yrs of her rule, what makes you think PDP, GEJ or is it Barth, is serious and committed to any power reform? A govt that is only thinking about generation without mapping out a well laid strategy for gas production and distribution is only joking. Are they going to be transporting the gas (that is not even available) via trucks to the NIPP's or have they started laying down pipes for gas distribution? Power sector reform my foot! Guys, the so called improvement you see today in generation is simply an overworking the systems currently available to deceive nigerians. The systems will soon pack up and we'll be back to square one. |
It is only a foolish mind that is incapable of understanding the rot of the oil industry, the ties to the powers that be of the personalities involved and how far they are willing to go to bring to a halt the fuel subsidy brouhaha and rubbish one of the finest probes ever carried out in nigeria, that will believe Otedola and his group. Above report is a written script waiting to be acted. There is no iota of truth in it. Farouk Lawal is a man of integrity. I tell you the truth, if there were options of buying one's self out of the indicted list of the oil companies, they would have all bought their ways out. How come with all the money paid to the adhoc committee as claimed by Otedola, we still had all the names of the indicted companies? Otedola is the one sent by the oil companies because of his tie to the president. I believe strongly that GEJ's hands are not clean in all this. We heard of the meetings between GEJ and the media. Time will tell. One more thing, if the video recording were true, it should have gone viral by now. |
I had no SHOES . . . I always wondered if GEJ meant shoes as in real shoes or it is an acronym. May what GEJ means every time he says I HAD NO SHOES is ''I Had no Sectionalism, Human rights abuse, Office to flaunt, Extravagance tendencies, Selfish spirit but now i have them in different designs from different designers'' |
Kobojunkie: How much longer are you going to keep blaming his advisers? The man you hired to do the job is the President. You had no hand in selecting said advisers. So if something is going wrong, does it not make sense that you point your blame to the man you elected to do the job and not some random K who was selected by the man?hmmmm, thats true. I think GEJ should do himself, Nigeria and his posterity a favour by not contesting in 2015. If he contests, we'll be witnessing for the first time in Nigeria a defeat of the incumbent president. |
Gbawe: There is nothing wrong with GEJ because he is just being himself i.e a very mediocre administrator placed far above his Station. Instead, there is something wrong with Nigerians. Look at the most successful Nations in the World. Do they go out of their way, shunning what is terribly obvious, to vote a total mediocrity into the most powerful position in the land only to then be complaining they are not seeing progress? You are so right. |
I am beginning to think either the president is bewitched or his advisers are. Its now i understand why Reuben Abati refused to release an advance copy of Mr president's speech to press men as is the tradition. The president knew the change of the UNILAG name would be met with opposition. Naming any national edifice after anyone as a mark of honour should be a thing of joy if there are no political undertones to it. Why not name the National stadium, UniAbuja, national Hospital after Abiola. Why is GEJ always forcing things down our throats without due consultation? Is this a military rule? Fuel subsidy removal met opposition, Renaming of Unilag met opposition, increase in electricity tariff is meeting opposition. GEJ is so unpopular in the north, he's adding to his unpopularity in the southwest. Truth is that there is nothing wrong with subsidy removal, renaming of an edifice after anyone as a mark of honour or even increasing electricity tariff if only first things are done first. if the north put their acts together and de-emphasise religion or regionality as the focus of their campaign and move a step further by putting a christian candidate as the northern candidate, GEJ will stand no chance in 2015. There is something wrong with GEJ. |
UPVILLE NOMINATIONS All indications are clearly showing that Zambian artiste Mampi could be going home. After the Upville Diary Sessions where all housemates were tasked by Big Brother to nominate atleast two fellow housemates with a reason, most of the housemates nominated her and generally cited gossip as the reason as to why she should be nominated. Interestly, Roki nominated fellow Zimbabwean Maneta and Zambia’s Mampi and he said that he wanted to save them from what may happen incase things got out of hand. “Am going to nominate my sisters Mampi and Maneta because i want to protect them,” Roki stated. Well, let’s have a brief outlook at how the stars nominated; Mampi was nominated by 6 of her fellow housemates. Maneta and DKB were all nominated 3 times. Goldie was nominated by 2 of her fellow hoiusemates. Lady May and Prezzo were each nominated once. Roki and Barbz were the lucky fellas in Upville because they were not nominated for possible eviction! Since DKB is Head Of House, he has a chance of saving himself, whom do you think he will replace himself with in the house? |
Guys, anytime i look at Barbz i know she's well and far above 34. Have you seen the wrinkles around her eyes? 34yr old african ladies (enlightened as she claims) dont carry wrinkles). The oldest lady in BBA6 (from Ghana) looked way younger compared with Barbz. From Barbz disposition, she's well above 40yrs. Na wetin carry am come the house sef? Abi them force her? |
Guys in case you have not noticed, Seun, Mukina and Twinstaiye have moved everything nairaland to the blackberry platform including the official thread of the bigbrother stargame. Make una go buy blackberry oh. Seun is one of the distributors for RIM. |
How on earth would this so called agencies waste a breath telling us they are set to when they are suppose to use the opportunity to tell us who the killer sponsors are? Waste of money on the agencies! |
prettyG: http://dailytimes.com.ng/article/boko-haram-targets-guardian-daily-trustcan't you simply copy and paste the article? Tomorrow you'll be out blaming govt and NEPA when you in your little capacity have not made life easier for nigerians. |
Where is the |
It's quite unfortunate that i have to mention this. But the truth be told, his excellency Goodluck Jonathan's major challenge is that Nigerians dont trust him at all. Nigerians dont take him serious and whatever he says makes no meaning. His words are meant to bring hope to Nigerians but any time he talks Nigerians are not interested in hearing him and when they do it sounds like a stand up comedy. His predecessors enjoyed some level trust by not always saying things they cant deliver. GEJ has earned a reputation of not delivering on his promises and he keeps making more promises. I may be wrong and I hope someone here will help me. I wish to move a motion that GEJ be banned from making further promises until he delivers on the promises he has made. |

pls are the movies ADESUWA and PHONE SWAP already on sale in nigeria? |
Mr President sir, the Lawal Farouk committee has given you a rare platform. One that predecessors shied away from. Sir, without mincing words, your place in the history of Nigeria is 100% dependent on what you do with the Farouk Report. Farouk did the dirty job for you, please dont make him look stupid! All your noise about fighting corruption starts here. We are watching . . . |
martyns303: Am a christian and that's because I was born into a christian family and grew up with that ideology, most time people don't choose for themselves. So because you were given birth to in a garage, it now means you are a car. |
i use my phone nokia E72 and also my laptop with firefox 9. |
i'm not enjoying the new nairaland look. The characters are too crowded. It makes reading so distracting and unenjoyable. May be with time i may get used to it. But right now am so not enjoying at all. Can something be done about the crowded characters. |
If sultan is your target, does he reside in a church? |
Why on earth is this Dissluminati always craving for attention by commenting on what she knows nothing about or does not concern her? Yours comments are IRRITATING! mtcheww! |
why would the sss parade a redesigned Joseph Yobo and call him kabiru Sokoto? is this for real? |
These Boko harams are only making noise. if they are not afraid, why threaten the ambassador? PLEASE LETS ENCOURAGE THEM TO ATTACK THE US AMBASSADOR, at least we can be sure that would be their last attack ever! |
Hmmm, so many kids on nairaland. |
1. How much does glo charge for sms to other networks since its only free to glo lines 2. On registration, you are given 60 free sms, what happens after exhausting the 60? 3. what does it cost to renew the subscription? Glo is silent about all this, i hope people dont just fall victim to some exploitation! |
