LordReed: How can a person's spirit be banished from the presence of the god if the god is everywhere? Also in the story Adam and Eve can still hear and converse with the god so how were they able to do that if they were banished from the presence of god? Another story says Cain killed his brother and still had a conversation with the god, how was he able to do that if he was banished from the presence of god? LOL.. I don't claim to have much knowledge on this subject but... From what I know.. Adam and Eve were banished from God's manifest presence. You see.. There are two types of God's presence that I know of.. His Manifest presence and His omnipresence. His omnipresence means He's everywhere.. But not everywhere in the sense that He is actively involved in every event at everytime but rather nothing is hidden from His Sight and Knowledge... He witnesses everything and is aware of all that is happening. His omnipresence can't be sensed... We only believe it by faith... According to what is written... His manifest presence is when God physically goes to a place His manifests His presence to the physical senses (smell, touch, hearing, etc).. (Like when Jesus appeared to Paul.. He didn't see Jesus but heard him)... And sometimes even to the eyes like when Jesus appeared to John in the account of the Revelation... So to answer your question, Adam and Eve were banished from God's manifest presence.. They lost the privilege of having God walk with them in the cool of the day.. And having God bring animals to them to see what they would name them. God's omnipresence even extends to hell. God is well aware of the punishments being metted out on sinners there... Even David wrote that if he makes his bed in hell God is there and there is nowhere he can go to evade God's Spirit. This is the best answer I can think of with my level of understanding. |

MaxInDHouse: They often make mockery of God's word with their ignorance and arrogance. Instead of humbly learning from those who knows better than them they feel everyone could just pick up the book (Bible) and gain the accurate knowledge thereof.
Of course there is spiritual death but it simply means the death of a Bible trained conscience, it has nothing to do with the gibberish they're spewing.
Adam became spiritually dead even before eating the forbidden fruit because he had to kill his godly trained conscience to join Eve in doing what God commaded them not to do. Note that the order not to eat the forbidden fruit was primarily given to Adam before he passed on the information to Eve. So for him to have agreed to eating the fruit is a sign of spiritual DEATH!
The death God actually meant at Genesis chapter 2:17 is a physical one, Adam will die the day he eat that fruit. Before then time was unspecified because they don't have to grow old or die, but from the moment they ate that fruit the countdown began nobody both Adam, Eve nor any of their descendants ever lived up to one day after they ate from that fruit! 2Peter 3:8
In the Christian congregation we often refer to someone who decided to stop living by God's standard as spiritually dead person even though he's still walking up and down but to us such a person is DEAD {Matthew 8:22} so each time anyone began taking in the accurate knowledge of God's word, dedicate his life and symbolized it by water baptism we accept such a person as living forever because even he should die his name is already written in the book of life so Jesus will surely resurrected him! John 11:25-26
But as for Adam and Eve they're dead forever! LOL. You Jehovah's witnesses will not kill somebody oooo... Lol... |

Ever since I was a kid, I've always been used to eating the meat last, that is, after eating the rice, or swallow or whatever is served.
I noticed that my father, mother, brothers all follow this rule.
I have also noticed it in public events. When rice is served, people usually eat the rice first and the meat last. The same goes for swallow or anything that is served with meat.
My question is, why is that so?
Why is it that most Nigerians follow this unwritten rule? |

Barristter07: " And Manoah arose and went after his wife and came to the man and said to him, “Are you the man who spoke to this woman?” And he said, “I am.” " Judges 13:11
Is the angel God Almighty for claiming I AM ?
Secondly you haven't said anything about Daniel being worshipped and if it means he is God Almighty. That's a different context. That's like someone asking me whether I am a man and I reply by saying 'I am'. The context in which Jesus said I am is different. In His context He's simply implying a status of divinity. As for the Daniel passage. The truth is obvious. Look, just keep on believing as you have. I'm tired of arguing. I hope one day you'll learn the truth. And if you don't, well, na you Sabi. Am sure you didn't read a thing, if you do you would have saw that the only point of my quoting you was to point out that True worshippers worship the Father. John 4:23
Not Father and son. So which means all translation that use worship for people postrating to Jesus are misled, they should have done the same thing they did to others by using something else aside worship.

LordReed: I hear Christians use the term spiritual dead or death a lot but I haven’t gotten a decent explanation yet. If someone’s spirit is dead then how is the person still alive if humans are spirits? How is a spiritually dead persons spirit moving about after physical death, isn’t the spirit dead? Well the word death as used in the Bible means three things, but two are only relevant to this discussion: 1. Physical death, that is, when it refers to the body. (see James 2:26) 2. Separation from God. Which is what God meant when He told Adam and Eve that they would die after eating the forbidden fruit. " For in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." Literally dying, "thou shalt surely die." In other words, death processes will begin the day you eat of that fruit. When the Bible talks about a person's spirit dying it doesn't mean it ceases to exist it just means that persons spirit is banished from the presence of God. |

MaxInDHouse: You can learn the truth only when you're open minded but when you've gotten some preconceived thought/opinion then no matter what you see you'll continue to support your opinion!
All what you quoted are the works of trinitarians who misinterpreted God's word, the word they translated into WORSHIP means HONOUR or OBEISANCE just as King Nebuchadnezzar did before Daniel! Daniel 2:46
Of course what the King did there should be called WORSHIP because apart from bowing before Daniel the King offered presents and INCENSE to Daniel!
Now ask yourself is Daniel Jehovah? Did Jehovah asked anyone to worship Daniel?
People often honour anyone through whom God performs supernatural signs that's exactly what those people did before Jesus. But God Himself said from heaven:
“This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved. Listen to him.” Matthew 17:5b
Note that JEHOVAH didn't say "worship him" rather what He said was "listen to him" and since Jesus himself has spoken saying his father is the one to be worshiped whoever think that worshiping Jesus will earn them a favour are threading on the part of destruction! Matthew 15:9 Barristter07: Daniel was worshipped too, I guess he is God .
" Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him. " - Daniel 2:46 King James Bible
The same Greek word was applied to other humans but worship wasn't used, it was translated differently , why ?
That answer will tell you why what you quote above is a wrong translation. And if you say Daniel 2:46 quoted above is wrong, say why Barristter07: Honor not worship. Are you guys ignorant of English language ? Lol. There's really no convincing you people. Your minds are already set. The truth is glaringly obvious but i can't discern why you can't see it. omo I'm tired of arguing.. It is leading nowhere.. I'll leave you with one last food for thought... Why would Jesus say in John 8:58 - Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM."'?He is in essence saying that He existed before Abraham who was born (physically) before Him thousands of years earlier. Think about it... who else is referred to as I AM in the whole Bible besides God Himself? I wish you the very best in all that you believe.. have a nice life. |

MaxInDHouse: Let everyone honour the representative sent by the President because whoever dishonour the representative surely dishonour the one who sent him.
Does the above makes any sense to you?
God said whoever touches His servant is like touching His eyeballs {Zechariah 2:8} so do you think God's prophets are literally God's eyeballs?
Well if you must know what you quoted simply means whoever dishonour God's servants dishonour God Himself who sent them!
I will raise up for them from the midst of their brothers a prophet like you, and I will put my words in his mouth, and he will speak to them all that I command him. Indeed, I will require an account from the man who will not listen to my words that he will speak in my name! Deuteronomy 18:18-19
Compare to what Jesus said here: John 17
“I have made your name manifest to the men whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours, and you gave them to me, and they have observed your word" :6
"because I have given them the sayings that you gave me, and they have accepted them and have certainly come to know that I came as your representative, and they have believed that you sent me" :8
"I have made your name known to them and will make it known, so that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in union with them" :26
Jesus told us that Jehovah is his own father and our father, his God and our God {John 20:17} so we must honour God's servants as God's representatives but WORSHIP belongs only to JEHOVAH! Mark 12:29 Worship belongs to only Jehovah, true. Even Jesus said so - Mat_4:10 Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.'"But Jesus was worshiped - Mat 2:2 saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him." Mat_2:11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. But why didn't Jesus reject worship?Mat_8:2 And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, "Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean."
Mat_9:18 While He spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped Him, saying, "My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her and she will live."
Mat_14:33 Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, "Truly You are the Son of God."
Mat_15:25 Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, "Lord, help me!"
Mat_28:9 And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice!" So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.
Mat_28:17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted.
Mar_5:6 When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshiped Him.
Luk_24:52 And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,
Joh_9:38 Then he said, "Lord, I believe!" And he worshiped Him. Paul referred to Jesus as God - Tit_2:13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, What do you have to say concerning these scriptures? For this reason, your KJV says "spirit itself" @Romans8:16,26. Greek words for "Guide/Helper/Advocate" is Masculine gender, that is why John 16:13-15, personified spirit as "him/he." Go ahead and confirm oooo Lol. So you're saying thatGod and angels have a shared Image and all humans are made in the image of angels? Lol.. The Spirit itself is an error in translation... Who was God referring to when He said, 'Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.' 2. What do you have to say about these scriptures - Act_13:2. As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, "Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." (Does a force speak)?
Act 8:29. Then the Spirit said to Philip, "Go near and overtake this chariot." Act_10:19 While Peter thought about the vision, the Spirit said to him, "Behold, three men are seeking you.
Do they or do they not show that the Holy Spirit is a person? Isn't it only people that speak? There are other scriptures like John 16:7-8, John 16:13-15 where Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as He or Him. But i won't post them. You can check them out for yourself. LordReed: This is still incomprehensible and disjointed to say the god loves but is willing to standby by while billions of people suffer over the course of thousands of years but he is waiting for some undetermined day to right all wrong. Meanwhile people continue to suffer and die under horrible circumstances and the god with the power to do something is just watching silently. It makes more sense when you realise there isn't any such god. First of all, God is not to blame for the way the world is right now. He created a perfect world. In the beginning there was no sickness or death. There was no evil in the world. But according to what scriptures teach, our ancestors Adam and Eve are responsible for how the world is today. They determined the course of this world. God gave them a choice. Life or death. They chose death and today we're all paying for it. They introduced evil into the world. Remember the phrase, 'The sins of the father are paid for by the son'?. That's the phrase that best describes today's reality. We are paying for our parents' error. As regards why God isn't doing anything this is the answer I'll give. According to what the Bible teaches, God has committed His Work on this earth to Christians. We are His chosen vessels through whom He brings healing, love, salvation, deliverance, shelter and all the good things that today's world lacks. He has entrusted Christians with His Power and we are to represent Him fully here on earth. Given the number of Christians that are in the world today, if we were of the same caliber as the early Christians, today's world would be different. So the fault lies with us Christians and not with God. Because He has done all that needs to be done. It is now up to Christians to let Him move through us. |

LordReed: The only 1 of these that we can agree is a fact is someone called Jesus was crucified by Roman authorities, I don't agree he did it for humanity or to grant forgiveness. You are going have to establish these as facts before you can say that they are facts. They are facts indeed. The very facts upon which the entire Christian faith is based. You are right to say that Jesus was crucified by roman authorities. But was He raised from the dead as His early disciples claimed and were even willing to die for it? Absolutely! The two facts that proved His resurrection are - 1. The empty tomb. Jesus' empty tomb was discovered by women and told to the disciples and they believed. This may not shock you but if you understand Jewish history you'll discover that the opinion or testimony of women didn't hold much water back then. However, the disciples didn't just believe because they were told so by the women, but they went and investigated themselves and found out that their claims were true. And this is also the fact that supports the resurrection claim because if Jesus' dead body was still lying in the tomb, the disciples wouldn't have gone around telling people that He had risen from the dead. 2. The postmortem appearances. Jesus is reported to have appeared to 500 people after His resurrection and the apostle Paul lastly. Now, most skeptics claim that these so-called appearances were hallucinations. Do you know why that is wrong? Because it is impossible for that large number of people to hallucinate at the same time and see the exact same things and also, if those were truly hallucinations, the disciples wouldn't have jumped to the conclusion that Jesus had risen from the dead, because based on Jewish belief, the Messiah that they were expecting was not a dying or rising from the dead Messiah. They were expecting a political Messiah who would deliver them from Roman rule. Also, the resurrection from the dead that the early Jews believed in is the general resurrection of all dead which the scriptures teach would happen at the last day. So you see, Jesus truly was who He claimed to be. He talked about His death and resurrection but the disciples didn't understand Him. They saw His crucifixion as a defeat. They never were expecting Him to rise from the dead. So, if His claims about His death and resurrection were true, how much more are His claims about dying for humanity to grant forgiveness true? |

Near1: Historian Flavius Josephus, wrote one of the earliest non-biblical accounts of Jesus.
The first-century Jewish historian Flavius Josephus, who according to Ehrman “is far and away our best source of information about first-century Palestine,” twice mentions Jesus in Jewish Antiquities , his massive 20-volume history of the Jewish people that was written around 93 A.D.
Thought to have been born a few years after the crucifixion of Jesus around 37 A.D., Josephus was a well-connected aristocrat and military leader in Palestine who served as a commander in Galilee during the first Jewish Revolt against Rome between 66 and 70 A.D. Although Josephus was not a follower of Jesus, “he was around when the early church was getting started, so he knew people who had seen and heard Jesus,” Mykytiuk says.
In one passage of Jewish Antiquities that recounts an unlawful execution, Josephus identifies the victim, James, as the “brother of Jesus-who-is-called-Messiah.” While few scholars doubt the short account’s authenticity, says Mykytiuk, more debate surrounds Josephus’s lengthier passage about Jesus, known as the “Testimonium Flavianum,” which describes a man “who did surprising deeds” and was condemned to be crucified by Pilate. Mykytiuk agrees with most scholars that Christian scribes modified portions of the passage but did not insert it wholesale into the text.
Another account of Jesus appears in [ Annals of Imperial Rome ], a first-century history of the written around 116 A.D. by the Roman senator and historian Tacitus. In chronicling the [burning of Rome in 64 A.D., Tacitus mentions that [Emperor Nero falsely blamed “the persons commonly called Christians, who were hated for their enormities. Christus, the founder of the name, was put to death by Pontius Pilate, procurator of Judea in the reign of Tiberius.”
As a Roman historian, Tacitus did not have any Christian biases in his discussion of the persecution of Christians by Nero, says Ehrman. “Just about everything he says coincides—from a completely different point of view, by a Roman author disdainful of Christians and their superstition—with what the New Testament itself says: Jesus was executed by the governor of Judea, Pontius Pilate, for crimes against the state, and a religious movement of his followers sprang up in his wake.”
“When Tacitus wrote history, if he considered the information not entirely reliable, he normally wrote some indication of that for his readers,” Mykytiuk says in vouching for the historical value of the passage. “There is no such indication of potential error in the passage that mentions Christus.” https://www.history.com/news/was-jesus-real-historical-evidence
Based on the independent mention of Jesus’ trial and execution, I believe Jesus existed. This, in no way, proves the Biblical account of Jesus being the son of God via “immaculate conception” or performing miracles. It merely suggest he existed and was a preacher who was convicted of blasphemy and crucified. A common practice in those days and still today. Although today they just behead you with a machete.
Since we started this discussion, you’ve never established what you think a fact is, how you determine factuality. History is always a probability. Show me how you calculated this, based on what. On second thought, don’t bother me. Look up your facts, then look up the scholarly consensus on each one. Not some general statement from a bishop, the actual data behind the conclusion.
EDIT: After further digging, I've stumbled accross some online resources that state that Josephus’ account was doctored to support the idea that Jesus was historical when he was not. See here, here and here. There are more sources, but some are not even in English. If you really need more to show that this was a false account and added later by Christians I can show you that too, but all one needs to do is pick up a college textbook to find that the Testimonium Flavianum is a falsified by Christians. Other languages do not have this quotation as it appears to English speakers.
So basically, the best historical record of Jesus was written 60 years after the Bible says he died, is controversial, and doesn’t comment on his divinity. You do realize that those articles were written by non-Christians who are understandably biased? Give me an article by a honest skeptic who is open hearted and presents the truth with no biases behind them and I'll take you seriously. |

LordReed: 6 million jews killed in WW2. Islamic terrorists killing in the name of the Abrahamic god. Christian pastors and priests taking advantage of their congregations.
To all of this the heavens are completely silent. No god booming out to deliver any sort of proclamation condemning any of these actions which is the least a god as powerful and righteous as the Abrahamic god is said to be should do but absolutely nothing happened/happens. The Bible teaches that one day God will rid the world of evil and wipe away every tear. The Bible also teaches that God is not a sluggard with regards to that promise but is patiently waiting for the evil people to repent of their evil and turn wholeheartedly to Him. But whether they repent or not He is returning one day to judge all. You talk about God being silent with regards to the evils being done by others while you're not taking into consideration all the evils that you yourself have done and are doing which God is also silent (but not consenting) to. If God were to behave as you expect without giving you or the others involved in evil a chance to change would that be fair? God loves the terrorist as well as He loves their victims. And don't you dare question God's love for terrorists because in the eyes of God both the terrorist and their victims are guilty and worthy is punishment (I'm not supporting the terrorists) but I'm just saying that just because people fell victims of terror doesn't excuse all the bad things that they may have done. The so-called victims could have been involved in adultery, lying, stealing, etc. and the fact that they fell victim to terror doesn't excuse them. As regards all these claims the Bible teaches that there is a set day for judgement. After a man dies he is judged. So this is how God works. He just watches them while they do the terrible things that they do (hoping that they would repent) but in the event that they don't, and die in that state, God will punish them in hell. God will not let evil go unpunished. All those terrorists and false pastors will answer to God one day and it is a fearful thing to fall into the Hands of the Living God. |

Janosky: A helicopter hovers overs over the face of the ocean, is the helicopter a person? Aircraft was hovering over the airport, is the aircraft a person or a bird? The finger of God was hovering over the face of the waters,is the finger of God a person ? Compare Psalms 33:6
Look carefully at the screenshot, do you observe there is no definite article "THE" before "spirit" in Hebrew lexicon?
Bros, Hebrew ruach "spirit" is NOT a person. English Bible translators added "THE" for their own whim and Caprice [/b] First of all, it doesn't say the finger of God. It says the Spirit of God. John 14:16-17 says, '"And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever; "the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. If only you people sought to understand the scriptures for yourselves and were not gobbling up every false doctrine the watch tower society tells you. How many times in this scripture does Jesus refer to the Holy Spirit as He or Him? Do people refer to lightning or thunder as he? Or do people refer to a force as him? Another scripture. John 16:12-15. " I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. "He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. "All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you. How many times does Jesus refer to the Holy Spirit as He? Can a force speak? Can a force hear? Can a force guide? Another scripture. John 16:7-8. " Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. "And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: The Holy Spirit is a person, not an impersonal force or influence. The Spirit of God has personal qualities and personal functions. The Spirit of God is God Himself present in the world of man working out His own purposes.
Receive understanding. Think for yourself please. MaxInDHouse: Just be patient and keep on asking! Matthew 7:7-8 Meanwhile go and continue worshiping your God with your fellow believers, JWs are perfectly OK! What do you have to say about these scriptures? Isn't the truth obvious? Janosky: Job 38:1-7 & Genesis 1:26, JEHOVAH God spoke to the heavenly assembly of angels and morning stars, all spirits present at the Creation of man, the last work JEHOVAH did before He rested. Hebrews 1:2, JEHOVAH made the universe through his first born Son, Jesus Christ, called "Wisdom/Craftsman" working at his Father's side. @1 Corinthians1:24 & Proverbs 8:22-29.
Is your finger a person? Luke 11:20 , Matthew 12:28, Exodus 8:19, holy spirit is God's finger. The hand of JEHOVAH God, Ezekiel 37:1, 1:3.Psalms 11:4, God's eyes observe men,Do you agree that God's eyes, ears are persons?. The truth is glaringly obvious in these scriptures. What is your response to them? |

Janosky: This is the ONLY Truth in your post. The others are GIBBERISH misrepresenting the Bible based TEACHINGS of Jehovah's Servants.
Polytheist,Worshipper of 3 Gods pretending he is a Christian. Okay answer this question in honesty. Who was God talking to when He said, 'Let Us make man in Our Image, according to Our Likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth'. Genesis 1:26Also why does the scripture say, '... The Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters'. Genesis 1:2. If the Holy Spirit is merely a force as you people claim, why is He mentioned at the start of scripture? |
