A former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, yesterday criticised
Aviation Minister, Ms Stella Oduah, for allegedly taking his advice to her
out of context.
In a statement in Lagos, Fani-Kayode said: “Stella Oduah made some
comments about me today (yesterday), which were uncalled for, malicious
and petty. She reportedly said I should ‘bury my head in shame’, suggesting
that I was ‘speaking out of context’ in my essay, where I called for her
resignation and that I spoke under some ‘influence of something or other’.

“My advice and counsel to her is to stop being petty. She is meant to talk
like someone who befits her office and not like a market woman… I do not
like joining issues with women publicly; this is why I was very gentle with her
in my essay, though I made my point. But this woman is endangering the
lives of our people with her insensitivity, and we cannot just keep quiet.

“This is a woman under whose watch as Aviation minister almost 200
people have been killed and, instead of focusing on how to save lives, her
obsession has become smearing and abusing Femi Fani-Kayode. This is a
woman who only yesterday told Nigerians that ‘accidents are inevitable’
and that they were ‘acts of God’. This is a woman who thinks more about
how her headscarf …than she does about protecting Nigerian air
travellers.

“If anyone should bury her head in shame it is her; not me. After about 200
of our fellow citizens have been killed under her watch, instead of abusing
her critics and those of us who have expressed our concerns and offered
our advice, she should be seeking repentance from God and tendering her
resignation. She should be attempting to encourage Nigerians and assuage
their fears rather than indulging in cheap side shots and a futile press war.

“Instead of comforting the families of those who died, she is abusing me.
What a shame!
“Under her tenure, we have beautiful terminals but deadly and blood-
soaked skies. Our skies have become death traps because she really does
not care.”

My advice to her is to get serious and focus on doing her job, rather than
attempting to smear me with lies and innuendos.
“I raised some serious issues in that essay, which were clearly above her
level; I avoided personal insults. That is what civilised people do. She should
learn from that and address the issues that were raised rather than spend
her time trying to kill the messenger.

“When someone says that God is the author of fatal crashes, you know that
it is not the same God that we worship as that person. It is devil that
causes accidents and kills people; not God. You can say that a fatal
accident is an act of God only if the devil is your god.
“When I speak and write, I am under the influence of one thing and one
thing alone – the Spirit of the Living God who sees through her and who
knows her for what she is.

“She is the one that is under the influence of one thing or the other and not
me. She is the one whose hands are filled with blood. She is the one that
must bury her head in shame and no-one else. I will pray for her because
she needs it and I will pray for Nigeria to. May God deliver us from these
people.”

There is a factor left out in this comparison. Most internet connections offered at the stated price in the U.S. are with wifi and nowadays, LTE access, larger broadband and mega fast connectivity. With it, you can download tons and tons of streaming videos, play unlimited games, watch your local, international and cable tv online, make unlimited calls, and do so many other things that you have to pay extra for in Nigeria. How do you compare that with the Nigerian service providers who offer no such wide and efficient services?

I would rather use U.S. unlimited broadband access at $85 per month than any Nigerian network at N3,500. I will browse all day and all night and get value for my money.

It's evident. The U.S. adminstration is really getting ready for an apocalyptic uprising. But there seems to be more of growing distrust of fundamental Christian groups, probably because they are the main bane of the Conservatives.

The present administration is putting the noose on groups who oppose their programs like the LGBT protection, removal of religious symbols and words from national properties, Obamacre involving microchipping of Americans, spychecks on U.S. citizens, control of private ownership of guns, expensive foreign wars, reduction of gross support for Israel, globalization, mounting debt profile, involvement of Illuminati in government control and many others. Most of these groups opposing the administrstion are comprised of Bible believing Christians.

I'm envisaging a situation where soon, it's going to be riskier to be a Christian in the U.S. The authorities are suspect more because they believe that it is these people that could lead an uprising.

With no disregard intended towards our parents and ancestors and even our peers who have tribal marks, I know that continuation of facial or any other tribal marks has already been banned by UN and Nigerian government too. For those who already have tribal marks and are desperate to get rid of them, I suppose plastic surgery can do some magic here, if they can afford the cost.

I see some people with tribal marks wearing bushy moustache and side burns to cover the marks, but at times I wonder whether women with marks would often wish they had moustache and side burns too.

Israel has accused the Council of Europe of “fostering hate and racist trends”
after it passed a resolution calling the male circumcision ritual “a violation of
the physical integrity of children.” Tel Aviv demands the decision be
rescinded immediately.
The Council, a 47-nation pan-European intergovernmental organization that is
not affiliated with the EU, passed the controversial non-binding resolution on
Tuesday with only 13 members voting against it.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe called on states
to “clearly define the medical, sanitary and other conditions to be ensured for
practices such as the non-medically justified circumcision of young boys.”
It would like the member nations to “initiate a public debate, including
intercultural and interreligious dialogue, aimed at reaching a large consensus
on the rights of children to protection against violations of their physical
integrity according to human rights standards.”
Council members have been advised to adopt laws to ensure that such
operations and practices will not be carried out until a child is old enough to
be consulted.
The report also highlighted female genital mutilation, or female circumcision,
which is commonplace in the western, eastern, and north-eastern regions of
Africa. It is also common in some Asian countries and the Middle East.
Israel has harshly criticized the European Council resolution, saying that any
comparison of the ritual to the “barbaric practice of female genital mutilation”
is “either appalling ignorance” or “defamation and anti-religious hatred.”
“Israel calls on the Council to rescind immediately the resolution,” Israeli
Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said in a statement. “This resolution
casts a moral stain on the Council of Europe, and fosters hate and racist
trends in Europe.”
“Circumcision of male children is an ancient religious tradition of two
important religions, Judaism and Islam, and it is also common among some
Christian circles,” the Foreign Ministry said.
Palmor argued that circumcision does not harm young boys’ health or bodies,
saying that the American Academy of Pediatrics has proven the health benefits
of newborn male circumcision, while the Council’s report does not carry any
scientific evidence.
Rabbi Menachem Margolin of the Brussels-based European Jewish Association
suggested that the science which the resolution is based on might not be fully
complete.
“The writers of this report have made a partial examination, and did not take
into consideration the opinions of most experts, including from the World
Health Organization, about the positive health aspects of
circumcision,” Margolin told The Jerusalem Post.
Earlier this week, Jewish groups also spoke out against the resolution.
“This is a sign of anti-Semitism, in my opinion,” The Jerusalem Post quoted
the president of the Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece, Benjamin
Albalas, as saying.
The European Jewish Congress said that any offer to ban circumcision “sends
out a terrible message to European Jews that our practices, and therefore our
very presence on this continent, are treated with disdain,” the Congress’
president, Moshe Kantor, said, according to the Post.
Last year, Germany sparked debates and angered Muslim and Jewish groups
in the country after a local court ruled that parents cannot have their sons
circumcised on religious grounds. It said that circumcision “for the purpose of
religious upbringing constitutes a violation of physical integrity.”
The ruling provoked fury from both Muslim and Jewish religious groups, who
condemned it as discriminatory and “a serious interference in the right to
freedom of religion.”
Following mass outrage, Germany last year passed a federal circumcision law
that allows specially qualified members of the religious community to
circumcise boys during their first six months of life. After that, the procedure
must be performed by a physician. Germany is home to around 120,000 Jews
and four million Muslims.

A bishop and a public servant once went to pray in church at the same time.

The bishop comfortably took position right in the front of the altar. Pounding his chest and looking straight up to the magnificent roof of the cathedral, he spoke confidently:

"Lord God, I thank you for your great anointing on my life. I have reached a position where I can comfortably say I have done so much for you and for the progress of the global Church. With over 87 parishes established within the last 10 years in 8 countries and spread over 4 continents, my ministry has grown tremendously. Oh Lord, you have blessed me with a good family and riches beyond what I ever thought I could have. I am also a proud owner of 3 other ministries that cater for evangelism, missions and charity, 6 mansions in posh areas of 4 cities in 3 continents, several exotic cars and a Lear Jet to facililate my movements around the countries where my parishes are situated.

"Above all, my ministries are not only progressing, but you have put me in position of high honor before the whole world. I am presently providing employment for at least 5,000 people worldwide. Everywhere I go, I am highly praised and honored. My parishioners run helter skelter to please my every wish. All these because I am exemplary and not like the rest of humanity; greedy, dishonest and adulterous."

Suddenly, looking sideways, he saw the civil servant crouched in a corner of his giant church edifice and was further pleased with the favor of God upon his life while he continued praying,

"I am happy that I am not like that civil servant over there. Although I know that he brings his tithes and offerings to church, I also happen to know that he makes his money from dubious and dishonest means, depending on bribery and extortion of innocent people. But I thank you that his money works great wonders in contributing to the building and other projects of the church. I now see why the Bible says money answers all things because if such people do not pay tithes and offerings, the church would have no resources for evangelism, missions and other projects. For that too, I thank you Lord.

"I also thank you for giving me the ability to fast twice a week as I have seen the effects on the progress of my ministries. I thank you more because you give seed to the sower by providing me so much money as to be able to pay my tithes in the region of 7 figures every month. What shall I say unto you Lord, all I have to say is thank you for making me so great and privileged. I will forever worship you and you alone as long as your blessings continue over my life".

As he concluded his prayers and walked briskly to enter the vestry on his way into his opulent office, he once again noticed the civil servant, who had been convicted of his gross sins and had come to church to pray for repentance and forgiveness from God. He stood there and bowing his head in shame, held his hands against his chest and spoke in very low and almost inaudible voice:

"O God, have mercy on me, a poor sinner ..."

"Is that all he could say", the bishop questioned in his mind. And almost loud enough to be heard, he said, "This sinner had better repent now and accept Christ as his personal Savior. Anyway, I have preaced to them all from the pulpit and he who has ears let him ear."

Then at the instant, they both heard a voice came from heaven saying, "Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted".

To this the bishop retorted, "I hope this sinner-man, 'evil' servant heard that because I know he's always behaving so proud because of the wealth he has amassed".

The Lord looked at the two of them and said...

You know the rest of the story, don't you?

This is the way I see the message of grace.

It was by keeping the Law and Ordinances that people were saved in the Old Testament. Then came the New Testament with the concept of grace.

The righteousness of the Old Testament were not changed in the New. But it is no longer by keeping laws and practices, but freely given by grace from the sacrifice of Christ, and no longer the sacrifice of of animals, which were previously the works towards salvation.

The righteousness demanded by God is translated, transmitted and imputed into us by the power of the Holy Spirit, who guides and empowers us. As we listen to and obey the voice of the Spirit, we keep the laws of Christ in the New Testatment.

But anyone who looks into his/her life and sees that he/she is able to keep to the righteousness demanded by scriptures and believes that he is good or depends on that righteousness for his/her salvation or looks down on others who are unable to keep his/her own definition of the laws of righteousness disproves the message of grace.

A lot of us believe that if we dress in some ways, eat only in some particular ways, organize our fellowships in a particular ways, believe some particular things, say some particular things and in some particular ways etc., then we are the ones who are saved. This is an error. Others who you think differ from you in doctrines and practices that do not negate the word of God, and still live righteous lives are also saved.

For those who sin after they have accepted Christ, grace is still there for their full pardon if they repent and forsake by turning from the sin. For those who are caught up in unconfessed and unrepented sins, they become guilty because they have neglected to take advantage of the grace offerred by Christ.

Both those who take grace as licence to sin and those who are able to live in righteousness by the power of the Holy Spirit and then claim they are thereby better than the others are guilty of sin against the message of grace. The first group live lascivious lives, the second depend on their own works and condemn all others who do not practice Christianity the way they do.

I hope she wasn't the lady I saw last week at a beer palor shacking Star-beer. Why didn't I check her out properly? She may have disguised as a black widow!!!

Underground: It is way to early to conclude that a diplomatic solution has been achieved. There are vested interests that have put in too much money and resources into toppling the Assad government. I highly doubt they would just accept this as a solution.

When the Church of God refuse to judge and correct their errors, they are judged by the devil and the world. I advise that we all examine ourselves and correct our errors before the world start to accuse us before man and before the Throne of God. a shameless liar.
The pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial
Crimes Commission, EFCC, Nuhu Ribadu, has
described a former Inspector General of Police (IGP),
Mike Okiro, as a “shameless liar,” for denying that a
former Delta State Governor, James Ibori, helped
him to secure his appointment as the nation’s
number one cop.
Mr. Ribadu, in a statement by his media aide,
Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, argued that “If Okiro is now
denying this in public, there is no way he can deny
this open secret to a number of people including an
influential governor from the North-Central then,

accusing the former EFCC boss of falsehood.
Mr. Ribadu said his attention was “drawn to the
shameless lies a former Inspector General of Police,
Mr. Mike Okiro recklessly spewed to the media
yesterday.
“The cause of Mr. Okiro’s anger, the statement, in a
London court, by Mallam Nuhu Ribadu that James
Ibori was instrumental to his emergence as the
Inspector General of Police (IGP) needs no further
equivocation as it was an open secret to everybody
in the government circle then.”
On the allegation that he (Ribadu) wanted to be the
IGP, Mr. Ribadu, said it was a proof that Mr. Okiro
was a perennial peddler of falsehood.
According to the statement, the former EFCC
chairman’s focus then, was consolidating on his
efforts at the Commission, especially at a time he
was working on high-profile cases, including that of
Mr. Ibori.
It said, “The assertion by Okiro that Ribadu wanted
to be the IGP further underlines the former IGP as a
perennial peddler of falsehood. The truth is Nuhu
Ribadu’s focus then was consolidating on his
modest efforts at the EFCC, especially at a time
when he was working on high-profile cases,
including that of Okiro’s godfather, James Ibori.
“We therefore challenge Okiro to name those
people he called Ribadu’s friends that narrated the
fictitious story of Ribadu’s interest in becoming the
IGP to him,” he said.
According to the statement, Mr. Ribadu regretted
that the former IGP, attempted to rewrite the well-
known and widely documented assassination
attempts on him (Ribadu), saying he (Okiro) was
now trying to paint himself in another colour after
all the scheming he orchestrated.
“The highest distortion in Okiro’s statement,
however, is his attempt to rewrite the well-known
and widely documented assassination attempts on
the former EFCC chairman, and Okiro’s hands in it
all. It is ridiculous that Okiro is now desperately
trying to paint himself in another colour after all the
schemings he orchestrated.
“It beats our imagination that Okiro would want a
Nuhu Ribadu he was fighting to destroy to report
those incidences to him. It would have been a case
of having a culprit to be a judge in his own case.
“At the time, the trio of Michael Aondoakaa, the
former Attorney General of the Federation, Okiro
and Mrs. Farida Waziri, the former EFCC chairman,
had created a hell out of the world for Ribadu.
“The only sensible thing to do was to avoid these
characters and seek solace somewhere else. This
notwithstanding, it is a blatant lie that Okiro
telephoned Ribadu “several times” but that he did
not answer his calls.
“What Ribadu and other Nigerians easily recall was
an elated Okiro rushing to address the press to deny
something he knew nothing about. The bullet-
riddled car Ribadu drove during that unfortunate life
threatening incident is still there, if Okiro or any
other person would want a further proof.”
On the issue of the withdrawal of Mr. Ribadu’s
personal security, the statement said, “If Okiro is
suffering from selective amnesia, let him be
reminded that that was exactly what he did.
“He also redeployed Ibrahim Lamorde out of the
EFCC to Bauchi State Police Command as Area
Commander in Ningi. He did the same thing to other
top EFCC operatives that Nigeria spent a fortune to
train as investigators. One of them suspected to be
too close to Mr. Ribadu was even locked up for
months,” the statement added."

The attack tactics employed by the Kenyan security forces are very impressive and commendable.

First was the quick response.

Then also was the immediate efforts to save and evacuate innocent civilians.

Third, so many of the security forces who entered into the mall to combat the terrorists used only small firearms like pistols, which must have ensured less civilian casualties, although it exposed them more to the line of fire from the terrorists.

The fourth was the general boldness and dexterity showed in the attack by the Kenyan forces. They were determined and not chicken or scared.

A fifth factor I noticed, was the use of communications gadgets by the Kenyan forces.

Sixth, you could see the compassion in the attitudes and actions of the security forces as they attempted to save the innocent and at the same time, attack the criminals. Some others would have resorted to harassments and harsh treatments of the civilian victims, which is a sign of cowardice.

Lastly is the tactic of room by room mopping of the mall instead of using explosives and gases to flush out the terrorists, which also would have escalated civilian casualty.

Bravo, Kenyan security forces. I hope Nigeria and other nations will learn from your professionalism.
