peteregwu: AM SORRY I DONT NEED TO FLOG MUCH ON THAT. YOU DONT UNDERSTAND!Good answer! You got off my hook. You are right; I can't understand what the Bible does not sanction and is completely antichrist. |

peteregwu: who told you that the lords chosen members help in using that cd for eevangelism? where you their or you heard? My dear peteregwu, please permit me to rock your boat a little. What you have posted only smacks of tagging your church a secret cult... I quote, for instance, "... for your information, it is a taboo for us as chosen evangelists to use any other material from other source for evangelism ..." Paul planted, Apollo watered, others too built on the same foundation without dividing the body of Christ. The early Christian disciples retained the unity in the Body of Christ. But from the precedence I see in your church, you believe that only your members are saved and heaven-bound. Meanwhile, what happens to Christians in other churches, other towns, cities and villages where you have no membership and even those who have died before your church was birthed? Please, I believe that these are the questions you should be asking yourself, not defending the defenceless. There is no perfect church. Even the seven churches in the opening book of Revelation all had their vices. I hate it when people preach 'church' or 'pastor' instead of Jesus. |

I'll rather predict when the world would end instead. |

I know that so many people believe that the U.S. is modern day Babylon. But I seem to have quite a different opinion. Whenever I read Revelation chapter 18, I have only one picture on my mind... the INTERNET... www., the most modern city built by man with all the power, glory, riches, colors, lightings, trading and glitterrati highlighted in the book of Revelation, chapter 28. |
50calibre: My question is - why is it that most visions of hell or Divine manifestations are experienced by blacks, and mostly in Africa. Is hell made only for the black man?Well, I've read many more narratives of people who visited hell and returned to tell the story; many more than from Africans. Here's one trending on NL from a white woman... https://www.nairaland.com/1420931/compelling-testimony-reality-hell-fire |

Luluvich: Pastor J is Jimi Odukoya , the son of the late Bimbo Odukoya. He's a minister of the gospel as well as a gospel singer.I won't bet on that. I know Pastor J, Late Pst Bimbo Odukoya's son, and I know he would not get involved in discussions like this, as a matter of principle. |
Let me share a personal experience. Some decades back, I was a civil servant in my state. I had a messenger who kept boasting that by hook or by crook, he must be rich. After a short while, he asked to travel with me to Ibadan during a weekend as he was en route to Iwo. I was surprised as he never failed to spend the weekend with his family in his home town. By the following Monday, my messenger came to the office with his whole hair fully shaved, Gorimapa style. This was at a time when Afro hair was the vogue! Being close to all my subordinates like a family, I insisted on knowing why his hair was shaven and he confessed to me that he went for money rituals. Why did I believe him? He actually trusted me so much that he invited me into his home and showed me a calabash covered with feathers with human air, a white handkerchief and black soap inside. On top were crisp Naira notes which he said always magically appeared in the calabash every morning. Suddenly, his lifestyle changed and he started buying new gadgets for his one-man bedroom. His disclosure was that he was asked to sleep with a prostitute and clean up with a brand new white handkerchief, which was used in the juju. Of course, that meant himself and the victim would remain barren for life, which he didn't mind because he already had 3 children. Another weekend, he asked to travel with me again on same journey along with a driver friend of his, who also returned next Monday wearing a 'Yul Brina' skin head. Of course, his disclosure of the secrets soon led to cessasion of the magical money after a few weeks. He explained to me that the jujuman was annoyed with him for bringing another customer without informing him previously and so decided to discontinue the voodoo, despite his pleadings. I really don't know exactly what happened after because he returned to his poor state and soon after, I left the civil service to work in the private sector in Lagos. But he came to visit me one day and was begging me to find himself and his wife jobs. 2 lessons to learn here instigated my posting. 1 is that the devil is a deceiver and what he gives do not last. 2 is to make our girls wary of such grave risks that they face sleeping around. |
I quote Pst J: "...My candid advice to the church at this end time is that the church must grow in knowledge; it’s high time we stopped bamboozling you. You must stop making idols of men. You must stop making men such as I, substitute for the Holy Ghost. Honour us; revere us… but that is where it ends..." I would say this is the summary of the whole epistle by Pst J and I commend his courage because if his colleagues get to know who he really is, they would ostracize him. (Perhaps, why he did not use his real name.) I really feel some of the diction in the write up are bit too strong. But I commend this pastor for at least letting us know the truth about how we should relate to "men of God". Unfortunately, even with all said and done about the saga and even if Pst Biodun confesses to all the escapades, yet refuses to step down to review his life and get right with God and continues his assaults (that's if he is guilty, because I do not personally know if he is or not and will not conclude based on hearsay only) there would still be people who would follow him for what they gain from church. I imagine, even with the escapist attitudes of the accused pastor, some have nothing doing than to defend him and vilify all other people as sinners and haters. Even the words that some use on others who differ from their opinions show the depth of their knowlege of Christian values. To such people, I would say, 'beware of God's judgment for leading people astray because you may threaten hell fury on critics of your men of God, you are the ones on the firing line of God's judgment'. For those turning agnostic or abandoning church attendance because of all these, I, for one, refuse to be discouraged. I only see a lesson that tells me, "read your Bible and learn the truth from the Holy Spirit if indeed you are filled with Him". |
demelza: God forbid that we put this issue behind us. The only way to move on is to go get the evidences she's talking about and get to the root of this shameful act.I feel you, but wouldn't this amount to ghost hunting? The pastor refuses to talk and the Church elders like PFN refuse to intervene, probably fearing what the scandal could do to them too. If God wants to expose any of the two accused further, I believe He has a way of doing that. But methinks we have dwelled so much on it as humans without any way forward, so I will prefer we all move on until God decides to directly intervene. Noone has anything to gain from staying long on the imbroglio. We have stayed too long on this mountain; time to evangelize and win souls. That's what Jesus asked us to do. |
I like this bit, "... I am far from right, but I have used the only means available to me to free myself of the bondage I put myself in. Lastly, to all the media people seeking interviews and whatever else mailing me, I have nothing more to say on this issue..." Maybe finally, we can all put this behind and move on. |
alexleo: Its like you are one those people who are intimidating your members with touch not my anointed? Be careful not to miss heaven because nobody tells you where you are wrong. When you can't accept correction from human being, is it the still small voice of the Holy Spirit that you won't supress with your pride or whatever?Exactly what is happening in the case currently going viral... # Pastor versus congregation member sex scandal. The still small voice may be saying, "Confess, repent and seek God's face for a renewal", but pride says, "God says we should be silent" and "wait for a robust reply". |
JMAN05: guy you greatly miss the point. the bible knows that there were different gifts. but none can function independently of the other parts no matter how insignificant. that is true of the body of Christ.Very much on point. |
stagger: In an army, there are privates, corporals, lieutenants, captains, colonels, and generals. You make much sense and you are very right on rankings and levels of anointing in the Church. But I want you to consider some verses in the Bible: Matt. 18:6: But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Matt. 18:10: Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. These verses, to me, show who exactly God must have been referring to when He commanded that his anointed should not be touched. I see God placing emphasis of responsibility and accountability more on the leadership; more duty of care and protection on the followership. I would like us to juxtapose that with what the Op wrote by quoting: "... by citing the story of Moses and his siblings in Numbers 12:4-10, then back it up with Ps. 105.15 or 'we' place people under a curse { I wonder if we understand scriptures at all ... we place God's people under a curse, after that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the Law, being made a curse for us}..." This cursing of followers syndrome is now common in churches and I believe what the Op wrote is more relevant than for us to try to justify why people of God should be placed under bondage or curse from men of God who live in error but who rather feel they have been "touched" by their followers when they are corrected and proceed to use verses in the bible to utter curses and condemnations. This was a point I ruminated over before going to sleep last night, and what I concluded is that the leaders who make their followers to err or who curse their followers are in for bigger judgment from God, who has saved and blessed them (and who says, 'touch not my anointed'). How does God warn leaders from judgment and let them know this to correct themselves if we are to keep silent without "touching the anointed"? I know that you will likely say that they should be left to God only. But you must also realize that God often speaks to leaders through voices of men who are 'less anointed' than those leaders. Many kings and spiritual leaders were warned in scriptures by people whom they ruled as subordinates. Your insistence that erring leaders should be left alone would only tell me that I may have to delete the writtings on prophets and watchmen whom God sent to warn the leaders of Israel in the OT and Christians in the NT from my Bible. A lot of men of God apply their rights as leaders to rain curses, but I have news for them. Their ministries would soon be taken by God and their anointing, like in the case of King Saul and little Shepherd Boy, David, handed over to much more responsible people who would build their followers even when they feel they have 'wrongfully condemned' or 'opposed' them. Remember, when David was hurt by even his son, he did not place a curse on him but rather pleaded for leniency. Remember also that Moses pleaded with God to reverse or reduce His judgments on offenders too. It's such leaders that God delights in. This is one reason I respect Pastor Adeboye. When he had issues with Pastor Bakare, he would only say, "May God forgive him". A man of God is expected to build rather than detsroy due to personal grievance. |

Insight2013: It is not any man's biz to judge any man of God. Take it or leave it, he God's anointed. Be careful!I guess these were the same words said by several of the followers of James Warren "Jim" Jones. Not surprisingly, they innocently believed him until they joined him in a mass suicide... Check out a summarized info at http://www.infoplease.com/spot/jonestown1.html You can also check http://www.trutv.com/library/crime/notorious_murders/mass/jonestown/father_4.html Excerpt: "...While his outside influence was growing and his control over his congregation was almost unbroken, Jones was not able to prevent all negative criticism directed at the People's Temple, although he did attempt to do so. He had members of his congregation take jobs in some of the leading newspapers in the area to warn him of any plans to print negative material about him. Before the papers could take the story to print, Jones would begin threatening them with legal action. Any of his opponents who persisted in discrediting him would soon receive threatening mail and be awoken in the middle of the night with threatening phone calls. Defectors from the Temple were too terrified to tell of their negative experiences with Jones, as they were constantly threatened with grave punishments..." |

All these untoward practices are already affecting the Church. 1. Many more people are not only turning against the church leaderships, they are turning agnostic or pagan. It's even very apparent on NL, where atheistic posts get more 'likes' than godly ones. 2. Church leaderships are groping for survival to prove that they are not complacent or complicit, even as they spend more time on the pulpit trying to exonorate themselves, leaving the preaching of salvation comatose or less relevant. 3. Everywhere, churches and their members are facing investigations and even persecutions. In Britain, Ashimolowo faced the drills of Metro police and was only recently let off. Oyedepo's Winners is facing the same thing now as he's under investigation for funds transferred to HQ in Nigeria. In Cameroon, about 100 churches have been closed up. In the western countries, many pastors and tele evangelists have either been slammed in jail, fined or are presently under investigations. 4. In Egypt, Syria, Libya and many Islamic countries, churches are being torched and believers jailed. When God's people neglect to judge themselves, God sends strangers and the heathen to judge them even harsher. Check out the stories of Children of Israel in the Old Testament, which is meant to be our own road map as Christians. 5. Need I add that a lot of church goers have their faith shaken by recent events? Imagine, if after about 4 decades of Born Again Christianity, someone I'm very close to presently doesn't find it so pleasant attending church services as before, what does that make of him? Either backslidding or rethinking. I hope he would not turn a gnostic or even atheist. Even strong Christians are having their faith shaken and a lot of charlattan Christians are arguing only towards the survival of their man-made gods... and souls are perishing because of the actions of their man-made gods... and they 'remain loyal' like Nigerian police. The Bible is more concerned about offending the "little ones", recommending such offenders to have millstones tied to their necks while they drown. But 'Churchians' are more concerned about saving the face of their pastors. When the affliction of judgement comes, don't think you will be spared; all of Israel often suffered for the SINS OF THE FATHERS. |

76Naira: When dropouts police us, this is what we get.You are very right. Can you imagine Braide also justifying such uneducated action by the police? Where is human rights? I see a lot of people filiming the riots in Arab and Northern African countries all the while without molestation. Even in the U.S. now, there is a program whereby police officers have to film themselves in every process of arrests. But here, our police force is dragging back to Abacha days... (Moaning seriously) Ohhhh, I hope Al Mustapha's release has nothing to do with this, o. |
Op. from the pic you posted, if I were to present you to Deeper Life Bible Church, you fail the litmus test of Christian dressing too. But personally, I like your swag; its just on the average. |
mojeer678: You lie sir. Red ipsa in Latin & as a principle in law means 'The fact speaks for itself'. In your confused ignorance, you meant 'audi alteram partem' which in principle is roughly translated as 'hear the other party'; one of the twin pillars of fair hearing. The other being 'nemo judex in causa sua' - no man can be a judge in his own matter.Haba! Why you come fall hin hand now? |
So much talk about 'kiss and tell' & 'whodunnit'. Proverbs 9:17 reads, "Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant." Now lets get on a new page with this question: HOW MANY NAIRALANDERS HAVE NEVER TASTED "STOLEN WATERS" nor EATEN BREAD IN SECRET? While you answer that in your mind before posting any other comment, be truthful o. |
