illicit: excuse me, weed didnt do that to majek, hard drugs did, tins like coke, heroine, all those adultrated chemicals, and u need to know weed isn addictive, never, do ur research and prove me wrong, btw weed is nt for everyone and thats whats important about itPlease read my posts well. I never said weed did it to Majek, even though it's obvious weed could do it to a light headed person so I also agree that weed isn't for everyone. So there, we're on the same page. But I differ with you on the 2nd page with your submission that weed isn't addictive. I was there for nearly 20 years, struggling to be free, so for me, it was an addiction. I can't exchange your views for my personal experience, can I? |
rasojie: and one of my personal qutes is, do what ever makes you happy, and helps you maintain a healthy relationship between you nd Jah your Creator. That's quite a mature response, my Man. I used to feel the same way too. I could have been doing hard drugs too like Majek... I am Majek... It could really have been me. |
GustavoFring: This is a thread for weed smokers in case you cannot or did not read the title.I'm a Nairalander like you, Boy. You can't deport me. |
sweetguy10: @ the person posting Majek Fashek's pictures , weed will never do that to you. That bros did lots of drugs , from cocaine to heroine , ecstasy and probably promethazine, rephnol . Nuff said bout him , never castigate anybody because they sin a different kind of sin from the one you do.My dear friend, you have to permit me to express my own valid views too by saying people should ask Majek. It seems you've not been reading many of the posts on this thread. I've read so many experiences shared by people here, which indicate near or complete madness even at just the first tote of weed. So, your submission that "weed can never do that to you" is definitely invalid. After all, Majek is not considered as mad and that means his case is not necessarily the worst experience. Yes, there are some people with pot heads who are able to bear the effects of weed without running off the cliff; yes, weed can be a herbal medicine to treat some medical conditions; yes, weed may not be as damaging as coke, H, alcohol or even nicotine in some cases; yes, you may find the experience exhilarating... yes; yes; yes... But not starting drugs at all is much safer than trying and depending on it or going on to higher grounds with coke or H or going 'kolo' on it. I'm not claiming to be holier than Majek. I too was once down that road for almost 2 decades, when I used to love it jumbo sized. I knew Majek Fashek too way back in the very early 80s. That was even before he had his first hit music. He was a regular visitor to a female colleague at work, who was tripping too and was also a popular part time actress in "Mirror in the Sun", one of the first popularized Nigerian soap apera, but is nowhere near fame or sight right now. Way back then we found his utterances interesting because of the jives and the music he could strum up on his guitar. It could even have been a source of inspiration for his music like in the case of Fela too. But there are definitely dangers associated in being addicted to pot, or even to anything else for that matter. And nobody can say that weed is not addictive and any form of addiction portends danger and caution. No-one says you as a person has no right to turn yourself into what you like, but for you to encourage other people to emulate the same is not acceptable. There are youth and adolescents viewing this thread too. They need to be educated on the other choice of remaining weed free, rather than encouraging them that it's just a great trip to heaven becoming a pot head. I read a post by someone, who after being encouraged by the positive posts wished she too could go on the trip just to experience the 'great' feelings that are being potrayed. Way back in my school days, I had friends with whom I did stuff, but none of them is standing today. They are either dead from the effects and results of stoning or on the kolo mental road. What I always say to myself is, "it could have been me". |

Majek Fashek says it all in pics... Perhaps, the experience of this one time music idol is enough to tell us everything we need to know...

NairaMinted: For now Iran 1- Israel 0. The warmongering nutcase in the person of Netanyahu has failed with his propaganda and outlandish liesLet's not forget however, that there is the reality of a script played by North Korea being repeated right before our eyes. The Oslo Accords that eased sanctions and restored relationships between the West and Pyongyang for a promise to freeze nuclear program only gave leverage for North Korea to secretly continue their nuclear programs until it was no longer possible to stop them. I forsee a repeat of this scenario, and I guess Israel too is looking in that same direction. Coupled with the incumbent Iranian P.M.'s recent repetition of "death to Israel" jingo, I can see why there's palpable apprehension by Netanyahu. Israel is not the only nation that could be threatened. The Shiite-Sunni divide which is presently assuming more dangerous proportions with mass killings in Iraq, then the Hezbollah and Iranian Revolutionary Guards' intervention in Syria and Iranian diplomatic oppositions to Saudi and their allied Arab governments is a factor to make even the whole world jittery. I don't personally see a peace treaty signed here, but more or less a proposition for Iranian domination of Arabia and the Middle East and probably, if care is not taken, a war that would shake the whole area so violently that the whole world would reel at it's effects. It may interest us to note that Iran is already backpedaling on the US terminology of the sgreements. endtimeheadlines./2013/11/26/iran-accuses-white-house-of-lying-about-details-of-nuke-deal/ This comment comes from someone who has had a taste of Iranian 'hospitality'. mavister: u call them trash? Only unongu has been able to say some meaningful thing here. You all havent. Am still waiting thoughYeah, unongu, one of the enlightened Catholics on NL. |
mavister: yes bro. Cus they are turning here to a circus. We actually dont need clows here. We need people who can stand uo to their belief and 'dogmas'' i still say it and i will say it again.. If the pope were to be a nairalander, he would have excommunicated so many of them. They are not representing their church well lahExcommunication would be a very mild and generous way of punishment for some of these insultive ones. I've seen pictures and documentary films of some of the gadgets used by Catholic priests and bishops in the Dark Ages for torturing 'heretics' but I wouldn't recommend that they pass the same discipline. |
mavister: what a pity bro , just forgive him bro. It is now clear that all catholics will always resort to insult when asked to say somtin about their doctrines. Shame! Besides this may be the teaching they recieve. 'hey,, if they hold u down and u cant answer their questions, just insult them and run away' hahahahMavister, don't let's generalize. It's not ALL Catholics that are like that. Probably, this chap is still too young to understand ethics and manners. I've met quite some decent and very knowlegeable Catholics, even on NL. Mostly, they just conclude by saying, "That is what the Catholic church teaches, and I'm a Catholic, so that is what I believe". They are right to say that because even Pope John Paul II in Vatican II book admitted that many of these doctrines are not in the Bible, but based on Catholic traditions. Such have my respect more than those rigmaroling, throwing tantrums or abusing. |
mavister: bro let me get this straight ok. See no one is here to mock the other. Diverting into jet and daddy really shows u have notin meaningful to contribute in here. The thread says. ''catholics defend your doctrines here'' .. Yet you havent. So saying other things , well you think you are funny in your own eyes but honestly you are making a mockery of your self here. If your pope were to be a nairalander, he would ex communicate you from the church because even though the catholic church doesnt have scriptural backings to proove their doctrines, they dont teach you guys to disgrace your selves openly. Isnt it? So leave frivolities and face the subject matter ok. God bless. Be a good catholic.. Make your church proud of you.On point there, my Brother. |
Conner44: Bros, there is a fact that is written somewhere in the bible. I will summarize it for youAnother uncouth one. He puts himself in danger of judgement? Matt. 5:22 |
Mrlouis: you disaproove of his post yet u have nthing sensible to use . Stop using harsh words to create humor. Just proove him wrong in a civilized way from the BIBLE. THATS if have one. HeheheMrlouis, don't blame the tod. He got trained by some others to abuse and is fast growing it into maturity. I wish we could actually go deeper and find out the backgrounds of many commenting anonimously on NL. What we will discover will make us understand better what breed of people we are responding to. For those Catholics and non-Catholics who have enough substance to discuss with decorum rather than engage in shenenigans, I give you all my respect. |
Conner44: See this one oh!This is the usual "Catholic" trade mark. When you lack substance, you have no alternative than to just shout at others. I will suggest you pick up some good books and educate yourself on Church history. See, that's what Mavista and Mr Louis are doing, and they are making sense rather than ranting abuses. What a great shame to find educated men and women, boys and girls reasoning based strictly on indoctrination. You are educated for the purpose of turning into reasoning and reasonable adults, not dogmatic slaves. I pity the future of our youth if we continue this way. |
It beats my imagination, and even my sensibility, for anyone to ever reason or think that God, the Supreme Creator, would hand over the Church of Christ to any mortal. Is it not reasonable to conclude then that God must have made a mistake, considering that we all are aware of many popes in history who have been very wrong in the exercise of their supposed supreme powers over the Church? Jesus, in referring to a 'rock' upon which He would build His Church was definitely talking about the revelation of Him as Christ given to Peter by the Holy Spirit, not about Peter, who immediately after the discussion in reference went into carnal mode and had to be rebuked. |
I have persistently emphasized that it is not your church attendance or the good qualities of your pastor that can save you. But what can save you then? I recently came across this write up on Facebook by Wells of Solace DAILY SELF-EXAMINATION FOR RAPTURE READINESS – Series 1 (a.k.a. Examine Yourself Whether You Are Still In The Faith - 2 Cor. 13:5) • Let us search out and examine our ways, and turn back to the Lord (Lam. 3:40) • Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting (Psa. 139:23-24) • “I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.” (Jer. 17:10) Are you still in the faith? 1. When last did you win a soul to Jesus or turn a person away from ungodliness unto the path of righteousness and godliness? Is the great commission from our Lord not important to you? Are you not worried that billions of souls are thronging into hell rapidly? Are you satisfied with only your own salvation and not that of others? How many of your family members, friends, colleagues and neighbors have you reached out to with the gospel of salvation? Do you not tremble at the thought of seeing your loved ones in hell if you were to visit hell? Is your sleep still sweeter than being on your knees for the salvation of souls? Are you not terrifiedat the thought of appearing in front of heaven’s gates and suddenly, the blood of a soul appears in your hands and afterall your holiness, you just will not be allowed into heaven with blood in your hands? How many tears and screams for mercy will be sufficient to turn back the hands of time?? (Prov. 11:30; Dan. 12:3; Prov. 14:25; James 5:19-20; Ezek. 3:17-21). PLEASE, TEST YOURSELF!!! 2. Out of 24 hours in aday, how many hours do you spend praying; how many do you spend searching the scriptures; how many do you spend reaching out to others forJesus or turning others onto the path of righteousness? How many hours do you spend sleeping? How many hours do you spend eating or preparing to eat? How many do you spend pursuing your education, profession or flesh? How many hours do you spend watching television, attending events and pursuing your hobbies? PLEASE CALCULATE!! If you add up all the time you spend for yourself against all the time you spend for Jesus, is the time for yourself more than the time for Jesus? Are you just expecting the rapture to take place or are you truly PREPARING FOR THE RAPTURE Is Jesus not coming for those who are sold out to Him completely? (Matt. 22:37-38; Matt. 10:38). EXAMINE YOURSELF!!!3. Please check your total income in a month! How much of that is spent on the things and work of the Master? How much of that is spent on yourself and the lusts of the flesh? Is the amount you spend for Jesus and the Kingdom’s sake more than what you spend for yourself? Can you sincerely and whole heartedly claim to be a SERVANT of God and a disciple of Christ? Are you truly the waiting BRIDE of Christ!!!! (Matt. 6:19-21, 24-33). SEARCH YOUR LIFE!!!! 4. When you invite a soul to your church, do you ensure that the Pastor knows that you were the one who invited the soul, so that your pastor can praise you and mention your name from the pulpit to boost your reputation in the eyes of other members? Do you still indulge in self-seeking? (Rom. 2:8; James 3:14, 16). SCRUTINIZE YOUR HEART!!! 5. When you give in your church do you ensure that the church members see and know what you are giving? (Matt. 6:1). Do you secretly still yearn forthe praise of men? (John 12:43). INSPECT YOUR MIND?? 6. Have you truly been crucified with Christ? Have you truly died to self? Have you decreased so that Christ might increase? Are you denying yourself daily, picking up your cross daily and following Jesus or is your flesh still seeking to ‘show-off’ and please itself? (Gal. 2:20; John 3:30; Matt. 10:38; 16:24). Do you know that, No self-denial, No Rapture ANALYZE THE THOUGHTS OF YOUR HEART!!!!7. When someone insults you; do you get upset; do you take off your garment of holiness, lash out and insult the person right back; and then attempt to quickly wear your now-stained garment back again as if you were justified to act that way, or with the thought thatyou will repent later? Have you not come to the end of yourself yet? Should your flesh not have been totally crucified with Christ by now? Does the dead geteasily offended? Is gentlenessnot a fruit of the spirit? (Eph. 4:26; Rom. 6:6-23; Gal. 5:22-23). SEARCH YOUR HEART!!! 8. Are you a true soldier and disciple of Jesus? Do you still own your time, your money, your body; or have you completely surrendered your all to Jesus? Do you know that, NO total surrender, No Rapture (1 Cor. 9:27; 2 Tim. 2:3-4; Luke 14:27). EXAMINE YOUR LIFE!!!!9. How much time do you spend dressing up to please others? Do you spend most of your time adorning and admiring yourself in the mirror, taking pictures and splashing them on facebook? Do you realize how many people plunge into hell every second you waste on worthless activities? Does the Master’s work mean nothing to you? CAN GOD SEARCH YOU AND FIND YOU INNOCENT ![]() 10. Are you still subtly boastful and full of yourself? Is your boast in the Lordor against the Lord? Do you boast in yourself, in evil or in men? Do you use your spiritual gifts to threaten specific people when they offend you? Do you lash out at them and say, ‘I will place a curse on you if you do such and such”? (James 4:16; Prov. 23:1; Psa. 5:5; 52:1; 75:4; 94:4; Ezek. 35:13). TEST YOURSELF!!!! 11. Are you sensitive to the needsof those around you or are you blinded by your pursuit of heaven that you have completely ignored those around you who need help? Are love, goodness and kindness not fruits of the Spirit? (Prov. 14:31; Isa. 58:6-11; Matt. 25:35-36). EXAMINE YOUR HEART!!! 12. Do you consult the Master before taking decisions or are you wise in your own eyes? Have you leaned unto your own understanding instead of seeking the Lord before taking any step whatsoever? Are you completely yielded to the Holy Spirit? In all the actions and decisions you take in aday, how many are Holy Spirit-led and inspired? Or do you wrongly believe that God takes too much time to answer and to give His consent; therefore, you cannot keep waiting? (Prov. 3:5-10). SCRUTINIZE YOUR PURSUITS!!!! 13. Who truly is your Master – you, your husband, your friends, your mind, your professional connections or the Lord Jesus?TEST YOURSELF!!!! 14. Do you tell lies, or exaggerate and then rationalize that your exaggeration is still closer to the truth than to lying? Do you for instance claim you have many shirts when indeed you have just 3 shirts? Do you, for instance, claim you are a very busy person when indeed you don’t have a job or occupation but only spend two hours in a day helping your mum with errands after which you retire to your room to watch cartoons the rest of the day, just so that you can escape the jeer of your friends? Do your exaggerations mean nothing to you? (Prov. 13:5; Gen. 25:32)SEARCH YOURSELF!!!! 15. Do you avoid people who correct you and sideline them? Do you secretly begin monitoring the person to see when he will do wrong too, so that you can correcthim too just to prove that no one is above mistake and so that you can justify/pacify your flesh? (Prov. 12:1; 10:18) LOOK INTO YOUR HEART!!!! CAN THE LORD SAY OF YOU: “”I have not observed iniquity in (INSERT YOUR NAME), nor have I seen wickedness in (INSERT YOUR NAME)”” (Num. 23:21) • If guilty in any way, please REPENT now and ask the Lord to re-circumcise and re-sanctify your soul and body; and make you a living sacrifice to Him, truly ready for the rapture (1 John 1:9)!!!!! • For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged (1 Cor. 11:31-32) • There is NO condemnation to ONLY those in Christ who DO NOT walk according to the flesh, BUT according to the Spirit. SO LIVE AND WALK IN THE SPIRIT ALWAYS!! (Rom. 8:1) Be HOLY at heart, in and on your body and in works – in secret and in public. The Bridegroom is at the door! May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christbe multiplied to you as you humbly submit yourself to the Lord Jesus!!! Scary that you have to get 100% mark to claim you are saved, isn't it? Anyway, there's still GRACE. Let's stop the squabblings about which church is better and take stock of our personal lives. |
peteregwu: my friend you are ignorant, why do people get saved in the church then. how will they here the word of God if not from the church. their are true churches that preaches the undiluted truth. through the truth, sinners get saved. we need to commend such churches. don't come here and say just empty things. why then are you going to church. the kind church that one goes is important. one can be in a church where the truth is not being preached, and because, not knowing the truth, he/she may die and go to hell. the bible says, "ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall mmake you free." what if some does not here d truth in his church...how then can be free? if he dies what will happen? it is hell! so, the church that one goes matters. that is why in the Lords chosen you see armed robbers, prostitutes, killers, occult men surrendering their materials and occult properties and burning them, fraudsters, fornicators, adulterers etc giving testimony of their salvation. this is because they have tested and proved the high power of God in manifestation. if the power of God is not there, how then will they surrender? they will be thinking their own demonic power is higher. The Bible says, "Take heed lest there shall be any one that maketh spoil of you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ:" Col. 2:8 I have NEVER come across someone more ignorant when it comes to the practical truth of Christianity. You have kept on and on with your defence of a church and its standards whereas you should understand that Christianity is not about church, but about Jesus. You are yet to understand that no church is perfect. In the messages of Christ to the 7 churches in Asia Minor in the opening chapters of the book of Revelation, only 3 passed the mark, but none was adjudged perfect as all had their own deficiencies. What you quoted as the vices in other churches are mere child's play compared to what the book of Revelation blames the churches in Asia Minor for. But you believe not only that your church has no flaws, but your pastor is also perfect. If it is the church you attend that matters, then none of those in the 4 churches in the book of Revelation would be saved. Yet, the Lord keeps referring to a remnant that are still keeping the faith in each and every one of them. I have seen people getting saved and maturing into adult Christians, even in churches where the preaching of the gospel is scanty, while many in churches where the "undiluted truth", as you put it, is preached remain immature and extremely dogmatic, carnal and without substance. You also need to realize that God at times, intentionally places some true believers in some churches where there are deficiencies in order to correct and prune them to His standards. The Apostles kept attending the Jewish synagogues to preach, even though they were places with corrupted forms of worship of Jehovah at their time. So, to God, the church you attend is not as important as your heart. There are people saved in Catholic, Anglican, RCCG, DLBC, TREM, and other churches, not only your church. If you don't understand that, it means, you have very myopic understanding of Christ and His Church. Unfortunately, you are one of those I tag as "worshippers of man-made gods" and one of those who make men of God to become arrogant and conceited and eventually fall because you worship them and their establishments rather than worshipping God. You are also a part in dividing the body of Christ by saying, "... I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not men? "What then is Apollos? and what is Paul? Ministers through whom ye believed; and each as the Lord gave to him." I Cor. 3: 4-5 You are merely behaving, as Apostle Paul described, as a carnal Christian. I will not be surprised to discover that your church activities are only a facade to prevent people from seeing through your real private life, which I believe CANNOT be a good Christian witness with the ways you interact even on the social network. I can't seem to put my finger on a light shinning through you. Only church dogmas. I once read a comment you made in another post that all who attend Catholic church are on their way to hell. This is similar also to your pronouncements of hell fire in this your last post. Haba! You have already become the Christ to pronounce judgements of hell. Perhaps, we should interview some people who know you personally to discover that you are merely a church goer without true traces of Christian virtues of love, devotion, moderation and grace. There is a whole lot of difference between Christianlty and Churchianity, you know. Yes, I sometimes watch your church programs on the satellite chanels and seen "armed robbers, prostitutes, killers, occult men surrendering their materials and occult properties and burning them, fraudsters, fornicators, adulterers etc giving testimony of their salvation (sic)." But I have seen more of that on TB Joshua's Emmanuel TV too. The Bible is very firm in condemning what you are gleefully engaging in by trying to prove that one church is the good one or the better one, but you cannot even see that the line you are towing is very wrong. You are vehement against wrong practices in other churches, but you see none, absolutely none, in your own church. But I have personally been duped by some of your members before, yet, you believe that it is in your church only (and probably churches like your church) that God has established true salvation. I am very disappointed with the way you present your arguments. I will recommend that you transform by the renewal of your mind in learning at the feet of Christ and the Holy Spirit, rather than sticking to the traditions of men. I would not have bothered with responding to you, but for the fact that you are leading others astray too with preaching church rather than Christ, just as so many others who hold their church leaders in higher esteem than Christ Himself. I have NOT read you extolling Christ, only your church. I perceive that you may as well be a senior person in that church, whom others are looking up to for guidance, but what you are sowing is not right way of Christian thinking and it will affect them too. Please, do yourself a favor, educate your mind. |
This policeman was caught lighting his jumbo indian hemp at a joint. The picture, which is going viral on net, was posted on Today's Nigeria, an online newspaper on Thursday November 14, 2013. Some of our policemen are stoned dead to have any empathy because they are high on something or the other. Now, we can also understand why accidental gunshot discharges are rife with our police force.

Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke - Official Page My church cannot save me and yourchurch cannot save you. This is because no church died for us. No pope, no bishop, no pastor, no evangelist can save us, because none of them died for us. But here is the name of the one who did die for us. It is JESUS! JESUS! JESUS! Only Jesus saves! God bless you. |

City Reporters Newspaper reports: "The breakaway faction of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) otherwise known as the New PDP has said that five more state governors, some National Assembly members and former governors have dumped the Bamanga Tukur-led PDP and have since indicated their interest to join the nPDP. The splinter group said it has therefore constituted a committee for the reception of the new entrants into its fold. The group in a statement made available to journalists and signed by it national publicity secretary, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, yesterday, said the National Working Committee (NWC) of the nPDP held its monthly meeting at the weekend in Abuja to review developments and chart the way forward for the party. He added that the meeting, which was presided over by the faction’s national chairman, Abubakar Kawu Baraje, also set up a 6-man Reception Organising Committee saddled with the responsibility to set in motion the reception in honour of the five more unnamed serving governors, ex-governors, “key” National Assembly members and others it described as “Nationalists” of the PDP who, according to him, have decided to join the faction. The Committee is headed by the National Vice Chairman of the faction, Sam Jaja with the National Organising Secretary Nasir Isa Abubakar as the Secretary of the Committee. Other members include the National Treasurer Abubakar G. Umar, the Women Leader Binta Masi Garba, the Youth Leader Timi Frank, and the National Public Secretary Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze. The statement said the Committee was directed to submit for immediate consideration by the G-7 Governors, the venue, logistics and modalities for the reception. Meanwhile, the nPDP said it has appointed its National Organising Secretary, Nasir Isa Abubakar, to replace Olagunsoye Oyinlola as its National Secretary in acting capacity pending further directives from the G-7 Governors and the its Caucus. Oyinlola’s Reinstatement. Recall that Oyinlola has been reinstated as the validly elected National Secretary of the Tukur-led PDP by an Appeal Court ruling last Wednesday. The nPDP said it welcome the development and after considering the expert opinion of its Legal Adviser, Barr. Eric Opia, it decided that Oyinlola does not need any other oath of office to return to work as the party’s National Secretary as he subscribed to PDP’s oath of office alongside other members of the NWC that were sworn-in at the Eagle Square on March 24, 2012, saying that has also been the position of INEC which monitored the said National Convention “The nPDP NWC is therefore of the view that Prince Oyinlola should resume office immediately without waiting for any directive from any quarters. Any other person who parades himself as the National Secretary of PDP should be committed to prison for contempt of court,” the nPDP said. The splinter said its NWC commended and congratulated President Goodluck Jonathan by once again improving on his democratic credentials by “directing” for the immediate reinstatement of Oyinlola as the duly elected National Secretary of the party not minding the plots by “some undemocratic” within the system, who want to portray the PDP in bad light. It alleges that some persons are trying to lure the South-West PDP to write a petition against Oyinlola and use it to invite him to the Umaru Dikko’s Disciplinary Committee, which the nPDP further alleges will be used to suspend Oyinloa. “ To us this plot apart from being childish exposes Tukur and his cohorts as true enemies of PDP and the force behind the continuous crisis in the party which they don’t want its end because of their myopic and selfish goals but thank God for the intervention of President Jonathan to end this undesirable macabre dance,” it said. The group also said it welcomed the initiative of the National Security Adviser (NSA) to President Jonathan, Sambo Dasuki, to further broker peace amongst the G-7 Governors, PDP and the Presidency “knowing the implication of the continued crisis on governance and the security of the nation.” It said the NSA has once again by this act demonstrated that he is a statesman unlike some of the “hawks” in the Presidency who prefer that the crisis in the party continues, saying some against reconciliation are deceiving the President into thinking that they love him more than those in the nPDP while they are actually engineering his political misfortune. It added that: “NWC commended the nPDP leadership, including both the Caucus and NWC members, for turning the party into the beautiful bride of Nigerian politics in view of the fact that we hold the key to decide the next President of Nigeria come 2015. The NWC considered other options in case our talks with President Jonathan fail to produce the desired result and concluded that our door should be opened to the APC option, while not ruling out other options that would give us the leverage in reshaping the polity come 2015.”" |
I quite agree with you on the demise of Amercan power, which I have observed since the time of Bill Clinton. Bill and Hillary Clinton as a couple demystified the U.S. presidency and showed the whole world that the chief executive of the America is not only a political leader and a symbol of national power but also a personality with the usual range of human frailites. Past U.S. administrations would rather resign on account of scandals in office, but Bill Clinton held on to power until the end. Bill Clinton himself noted when interviewed by Joe Klein of the New Yorker, that the office has been for a number of reasons, and with good and bad results, "demystified" during his administration. It is uncertain if American presidents can ever win back the awe and reverence attached to that office. Liberalism and legal licentiousness became a major character flaw of the executive, legislative and legal systems during Clinton's era. Several legislation and judgements were passed in favor of gays, feminists and other behaviors considered unnatural before have given full legal status to minority agitators, while legislation and legal decisions have even been overtly against Christians. Among corrupting influences of the Clinton administration is lack of integrity exhibited by the tendency of the President to lie without regard for decorum and his sympathy for ungodly practices. Apart from the presidential lies, Clinton vetoed three partial-birth abortion ban bills, legalized abortion, appointed licentious Supreme Court judge, involved in multiple scandals, cover ups and excuses and generally debased the presidency with deliberate inclusion of homosexuals and feminists in government. Before Clinton, less than 20% of voters would have supported gay rights, but in 1977 referendums, about 40% of voters supported gay rights. By the late 90s, Americans had already become more permissive to homosexuals, and they strongly supported President Clinton's initiatives to allow gays all rights and privileges of any other person. Progressively, by the end of the 20th century, virtual majority of the society was ready to tolerate gays in politics, armed forces, educational and religious institutions. In spite of character flaws, Bill Clinton was twice elected into U.S. presidency. "It is the economy, stupid", a very popular quote in tabloids during the second electoral process of Clinton shows the materialistic nature of the current American society. Just for economic prosperity, the materialistic American electorate voted for Ronald Reagan and George Bush (Snr.) too in the past. Quest for economic prosperity has made Americans forget morals. Economic prosperity without moral guidance at the time of President Clinton further encouraged Americans into queer behaviors. Thinking that the move would provide wider markets for American goods and services, Clinton liberalized a main stream political strategy of the U.S. at the twilight of his administration by encouraging admittance of China into WTO. But present econominc indications have revealed that this move does not portend any serious gain for Americans. With limited purchasing power, underdeveloped nations have no option than to turn to cheaper products from China and other emerging economies at the expense of trade with the U.S. and America businesses never had the advantage of new markets in China because of the high costs of American products. The Clinton administration fostered the current spate of globalization to produce a New World Order characterized by development of the Internet, U.S. militarism, interventionism and NATO/U.S. domination of global affairs. But globalization for developing nations has resulted in more economic adversity. Present global military conflicts began as a result of America's supply of military training and deadly weapons of war to both rebels and governments at the same time in order to have access to their mineral resources. Mr. Clinton attempted sealing an end-of-conflict agreement between the Palestinians and Jews before his vacation of presidential office on January 20 2001. But in his desperation, he tried to force a concession from Israel on the transfer of custody of the Temple Mount to the Palestinians. But the Middle East Crisis proved a tough nut to crack for Bill Clinton. In spite of Camp David of Carter and Wye River agreements of Clinton, clashes between Arabs/Palestinians and Israel reared up in escalation of violence in the Middle East unprecedented since the early 70s. On leaving office, Clinton left a "half dead snake"; more dangerous than a live or dead one. The disengagement of European nations from support of Israel was partly incited by the Clinton regime. In the past, initiatives on Israel have usually been taken jointly by the U.S. and Western European nations. With Clinton's unilateral decisions, Europe was alienated and subsequently became disinterested in their traditional support forAmerica's stauch stand for Israel. Suddenly, motions to condemn Israel which had in past been vetoed by the whole West as a single political bloc are now supported by several western countries. Suddenly and without due consultation with EU, Clinton began unilateral global military intervention campaigns, starting from the invasion of Somalia. The division caused by this move remains to haunt the U.S. as European nations no longer see a duty to support U.S. military initiatives. The Clinton administration's renewal of U.S. emphasis on militarism and interventionism to solve global and regional problems has set a precedence of might is right. The death knell to global acceptance of American democracy style was confirmed by the imbroglio that followed the 2000 presidential election. The mess created by the electoral process demystified the supremacy of democracy as the antidote to global political problems. The whole world now knows that American democracy is not perfect after all. While Clinton was trying to please the masses of the U.S. he was at the same time displeasing other more powerful groups, leading to the fall of the Democrats from government after him. Republican leaders have often accused the Clinton administration of being soft on crime. According to the New York Times of December 27, 2000 in an article titled Revival Helps Mask a Party's Flaws by Robin Toner, Democrats are charged as, "big taxers and spenders, addicted to giveaway programs…". The charge further states that, "they were achingly sensitive to the needs of minorities and the poor but cared little for the problems of the white middle class." It was not until after Bill Clinton had left office that the world discovered that he and his wife, Hillary, are members of the Illuminati. Former FBI Agent, Gary Aldrich, wrote his book, "Unlimited Access: An FBI Agent inside the Clinton White House", only with an intention to expose the Clintons' actions which endangered National Security. In the occult, symbols are an essential way of expression and identity and his investigations revealed the Clintons' behaviors and use of signs common to Illuminist witches, provide strong proof that Bill and Hillary are, indeed, powerful Illuminist members! |

PetroDolla2: fuckeduppedness hahahahahaha seems you are laughing on the wrong side of your mouth, huh?Sure, you make a lot of sense. I too don't agree that Nigeria is high up there. I know for sure that most of the indices supplied officially by Fed Min of Finance are cooked up. |
iterator25: bros, no vex o, Who be Andrew? iterator25: bros, no vex o, Who be Andrew?Sorry, it seems I'm talking over some heads here. You may not know Andrew unless you were up to the age of understanding in the early 80s. Then, there was this government promo on TV to encourage Nigerians stay at home to develop the nation during Idi Agbon's "War Against Indiscipline", WAI campaign. The military had taken over power and the junta led by Buhari and Idi Agbon had a firm grip on the nation for their perceived purpose of stamping out corruption. I must confess, they did to a large extent succeed, but with gross partiality in some cases, though, until Babangida outsted them and reinstitutionalized a new form of 'corruption by patronage'. Late actor, Enebeli Omobuwa (I hope I got that name right) was renamed "Andrew" by Nigerians because he played the part of a character 'Andrew', who suddenly packed his bag and baggage and solioquised on his way to the airport to exit Nigeria for good on TV: "I'm tired, men, I'm checking out. I'm tired of this no light, no roads, no water, no ....", but a voice from nowhere tried to convince Andrew not to check out but stay to help build the nation. The actor, Enebeli, I believe, died a couple of years ago. Methink, maybe before he died, he would have wished that he finally checked out because most of those who did have better to show for leaving Nigeria now. A lot of Nigerians in diaspora have been able to work hard abroad and send back home money to build houses and for upkeep of their families while many those who were encouraged in hope by government to stay are still here just trying to make ends meet. Unfortunately, the politicians still continue to encourage us to hope in their false promises based on their inabilities to build a better Nigeria. If you ask me now, I'll say, "Omo, you are on your own o. If you get chance for "ja" from Naija and you no seize am." |
ZZar: List of African countries by GDP per capitaHonestly, I will agree more with you. But you need to note that the indices quoted by Todays Nigeria was a 1999 conclusion, while luckily, you seem to be updating us. We would appreciate if you please let's know your source too so that we can be more comfortable with accepting it. |
khadaffi: This list is not correct. Op how did you come about this information? If you check the top, you will notice I only quoted Todays Nigeria, an online news portal. Definitely not my idea. But if I were to post my views, Nigeria cannot be up there in 3rd place with the enlarging youth populace unemployment. |
I stumbled on this post on purgatory by the Catholic church's official page. It even speaks better volumes than we have learnt so far on NL. Happy reading. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=315251671946200&substory_index=0&id=156529081151794&refid=28&_ft_=qid.5944613961862189568%3Amf_story_key.-8118931658944845161 "Nigerian Catholics ATTENTION FELLOW CATHOLICS!!! PRAYER-PENNIES FOR PURGATORY’S POOR!!! - THE P.P.P. CAMPAIGN!!!!! “It is therefore aholy and wholesome thought to pray forthe dead, that they may be loosed from sins.” (2nd Maccabees 12:46) ALL SOULS’ DAY (November 2nd), as we all know, is the special day set aside by Holy Mother Church in the month of November for masses to be said in honour of the faithful departed, and for the relief and ultimate release of the Holy Souls in Purgatory. The traditional Octave for this Solemnity is on the 8th day (a week) after the Feast day; thus, allowing for Holy Mother Church to befittingly remember the Dead by saying the same solemn Requiem Mass, all week long, with the same spiritual value as on the Feast day. Thus, like the numerical figure “eight” ( which is the vertically aligned Greek symbol of “Infinity” (∞) and as a notation with neither a beginning nor an end, the celebration of a Liturgical Octave symbolizes the never-ending adoration of God by His Elect in Eternity, while giving a foretaste of thisDivine experience to members of His Church Militant on earth. As faithful Catholics, therefore, in one way or the other we may have offeredup some physical or spiritual good works of mercyfor our beloved dead on All Souls Day (and, perhaps too, during the just-ended Octave week); with the most meritorious of them all, being the highest important Catholic public worship which we assisted at in theirhonour, and the prayer intentions we presentedtherein for them in the greatestand most efficacious prayer forthe ChurchSuffering- THE HOLY SACRIFICE OF THE MASS. May the Good Lord bless us all for all meaningful homage paid to Him, on behalf of the Holy Souls at thosetimes. This being said, we must not hastenour stepsto leave the presence of Almighty God after we have prayed for our dead loved ones on All Souls’ Day and its allotted Octave period. Contraryto this, we must at best, remember them each day of our lives, and offerup the merits of some good works of ours, for their spiritual benefit; for nothing is more glorious to God, nothing gives more honour to His Holy Name, nothing rejoices His Heart more, nothing is more pleasing to Him, than charityfor the “Poor Souls”, which opens Heaven to them, to increase the number of thosewho praise and glorify God, and the number of pure hearts thatlove Him for all eternity. “Such a work,” says Bourdaloue(the ‘king of preachers’), “is an apostolate more noble, more meritorious, than the conversionof sinners, and even of heathens.” ; for the prayers forthe conversionof living sinners are often hindered by their free will choice to remain obstinate in their evil ways, making our evangelization for their repentance much more difficult; but the soulsin purgatory, who have no exercise of theirfree will, and who now see their folly for their many previous mistakesin their earthly life, make efficient use of every consolation thatcomes to them from the Divine per our prayer requeststo Heaven forthem. Every prayer for the poor soulsis eventually useful, as it either brings them comfort in their presentsufferings, or contributesto their final discharge from the Prison of Divine Justice. So important is devotion to the Holy Souls in Purgatory that, Holy Mother Church, not only sets apartan Octave and a Feast day on Her Liturgical Calendar for their commemoration (especially in the three (3) compulsory masses meant to be offeredby every priest onthe Feast day), but also She dedicates the whole month of November for this cause. Thus, recommended pious practices that can be observed by the Church Militant during this whole month of November and any other times of the year to aid thesesouls include: 1. Assisting at mass and offering mass intentions in honourof them. 2. Making the sacrament of Penance in atonement for poor souls. 3. Visiting the cemetery or the grave of our beloveddead, to offerprayers forthem there. 4. Sprinkling Holy Water to as a sign of nourishment and quenching of their thirst. 5. Saying the Holy Rosary in their memory. 6. Making the Stations of the Crossto unite their passions with that of the Christas form of consolation to them. 7. Praying other devotional prayers like the Chapletof the Poor Souls, Litanies, etc… all in their honour. 8. Offering up all our ordinary but decentdaily routines, good works and the merits which come from them, for the sufferingsouls. As already mentioned, masses offered for the poor soulsis the greatestact of charity to them. Thus, since it is customaryand even just courteous to usually give somesought of stipend (big or small) for this cause in our parishes, as a way of appreciating the efforts and timeof the priests who say thesemasses, for the purchase of items used forthe massessaid, and also for helping the Churchin Her general financial upkeep, Church Fathershave often recommended the unique pious practiceof gathering small money changes, and putting them away till a substantial amount is reached where it can be given for masses to be said forthe poor souls. Saint John Chrysostomin his days, recommended to every Christian family thatthey have a box at some convenient place in the house forthe collection of pennies, which were to be used in having masses said for the poor souls. This was in order not to burden the faithful with greatfinancial responsibility for this exercise, but ratherto have these pennies which often have no economical use or value to many and are disregarded and thrown away, to be put to good use. In our day when giving for the causeof the well-being of the physically poor in our society as a corporal work of mercy has even become so difficult for many due to cold love, how many will be willing then to even give huge notes for mass intentions forthe dead? How many will not come up with excuses fortheir inability to supportthis devotion with their material substance? Thus the need for this generation to revive practice of PRAYER-PENNIES FOR PURGATORY’S POOR. Yes, they are “poor” by virtue of the spiritual debt thatthey owe to the Divine Justice of HisMajesty, and we help pay and cancel their debts by prayers. However, these prayers can also be symbolized in the physical moneys we contribute for the prayers said forthem at the altar of God, and any “poor” person appreciates even the minutest show of concerntowards amnestyfrom their owing balances. Poor and sinful Humanity’s salvation was bought by the Most Precious and Priceless Blood of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; and in union with Him, He calls us to do likewise, (however little) for the sanctification of our beloved dead, with our finite material resources, for their infinite spiritual gain and our own future eternal reward. Having come to know of this, may we be inspired to begin this pious tradition in our homes from henceforth, especially in this Month of November, in order to gatherup enough changes fora special requiem mass for our beloved dead at least by the end of the month. Currencies varyfrom place to place, but it is especially expected to put away at least, the smallest of denominations of whatever currency we spendfor this honorable cause. May the Holy Souls in Purgatory who are so grateful foreven the tiniestexpression of love towards them, reward us, as we resolve to do theselittle things forthem. Amen. CATHOLICS! SAVE A “PENNY”, SANCTIFY A SOUL! "The Holy Souls are eager for the prayers of the faithful which can gain indulgencesfor them. Their intercession is powerful. Pray unceasingly. We must empty Purgatory!" -- Saint Padre Pio "Yet how quickly we could empty purgatory ifwe but really wished to." -- St John Vianney, Cure d'Ars". |
emmy-richie:Sure, I 'love' the peace of Boko Haram, Niger Delta pirates, kidnappers, ritualists, police bullets, political thuggery causing stampede at political gatherings and church events, multiple taxations on the poor, government looking away while the girls in power buy bullet proof cars, politicians building empires that tempt even the poorest to consider violence to retrieve their own share, ... what else? |
bigtt76: Noted ...packs bag and heads to the nearest airport!Where to? In Egypt, you have the Muslim Brotherhood uprising and they are killing Christians. In South Africa, Nigerians are fast becoming 'persona non grata' and are under attacks and harassments. In Algeria, you also have the throat-cutting Muslim Brotherhood killing Christians. In Nigeria, you have the fraudster government officials stealing us dry. In Morocco, you dare not be caught stealing as common in Nigeria. In Angola, you'd better be an Angolan to steal like a Nigerian. In Libya, Nigerians are still suspect in protecting Ghadaffi, and many are still languishing in prisons, plus, they are burning Churches and forcing Christians to convert under threat of beheading. In Sudan, you may be caught up in North-South conflicts over control of oil. In Tunisia, there are many Nigerians already, trying to cross the desert to Europe, so it can't be 'Uhuru'. In Ethiopia, you have only the maize farms to work on and I doubt if a Nigerian would want to fit into the rigors of subsistence farming with cutlass and hoe. Even then, where is the land for you in a country fast encroached by desertification? We'd better find ways to get our acts together as a nation so we can enjoy Nigeria. Even, "Andrew" died without being able to check out!!! |

Is Jesus not coming for those who are sold out to Him completely? (Matt. 22:37-38; Matt. 10:38). EXAMINE YOURSELF!!!
