Armed persons on Saturday morning, kidnapped Travellers on transit along the ever busy Akure Owo Road.

The Iyaloja of Isua Akoko in Akoko North East Local Government Area Of Ondo State, Chief Mrs Helen Edward and some other women were reportedly abducted.

The Market women were coming from the monthly meeting of Iyalaje, iyalojas and women leaders in Akure when they were abducted between Ogbese and Uso.

The driver of the bus which conveyed the women and who was immediately released said the abductors asked him to go home and inform the families of the victims.

A Former governorship aspirant in the 2020 guber election in Ondo state, Comrade Dayo Fadahunsi, has died.

Fadahunsi, the Owo born Veteran Journalist, who was also the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), in Ondo State and Special Adviser on Union matters to the Former Governor, Olusegun Mimiko.

He died in the early hours of today after a brief illness.

The late Fadahunsi was also an NLC chairman.

Ondo: A middle age security man has been killed at Oka-Akoko, in Akoko southwest local government area of the state.

The security guard identified as Rotimi Olukoju was murdered by suspected ritualists at Okia area of Oka -Akoko on his way to farm, according to the source who confirmed the incident to VOICE AIR MEDIA.

A Resident of the area, Okia, Oka who spoke under the condition of anonymity, said that Olukoju was a security guard at a Microfinance bank in Oka Akoko.

He said the victim was beheaded by his killers.

A knife-wielding attacker shouting "Allahu Akbar" beheaded a woman and killed two other people in a suspected terrorist attack at a church in the French city of Nice on Thursday, police and officials said, VOICE AIR MEDIA has gathered.

Nice's mayor, Christian Estrosi, who described the attack as terrorism, said on Twitter it had happened in or near the city's Notre Dame church and that police had detained the attacker.

Estrosi said the attacker had shouted the phrase "Allahu Akbar", or God is greatest.

One of the people killed inside the church was believed to be the church warden, Estrosi said. ? The attacker kept shouting "Allahu Akbar" even after he had been detained, Estrosi said. ?

"The suspected knife attacker was shot by police while being detained, he is on his way to hospital, he is alive," Estrosi told reporters.

"Enough is enough," Estrosi said. "It's time now for France to exonerate itself from the laws of peace in order to definitively wipe out Islamo-fascism from our territory."

While reacting, Police said three people were confirmed to have died in the attack and several were injured.

A police source said a woman was decapitated. French politician Marine Le Pen also spoke of a decapitation having occurred in the attack.

The Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, has further reviewed the curfew earlier imposed on the state to help curb the large scale of violence following the hijacked #EndSARS protests against police brutality and extra-judicial killings.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino has contracted COVID-19, football’s world governing body said in a statement on Tuesday.

Infantino, who is 50 years old, has reported mild symptoms and will quarantine for at least 10 days.

The inferno started sunday night, 11:00pm.

The fire also affected the buildings inside Ondo State Radiovison corporation marketing office.

Many office materials were destroyed by the inferno.

Other Nigerians have invaded the Cocoa house in Ede local government area of Osun state, where COVID-19 palliatives were kept.

After the thugs forcefully gained entrance into the warehouse, they carted away food items purportedly meant to serve as COVID-19 packages.

The Government of Osun State notes the high level of compliance with the 24-hour curfew earlier declared to forestall breakdown of law and order.

We commend the residents and citizens of Osun for their show of understanding and cooperation in the last 48 hours of the curfew.

We equally commend our youths for displaying high sense of maturity in carrying out their protest.

After reviewing the situation of the last 48 hours and following the inauguration of the State’s Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Police Brutality, the Governor, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, hereby suspends the 24-hour curfew, effective from today, Friday, October 23, 2020 till further notice.

The suspension is to allow members of the public approach the Panel to make their submissions and to go about their lawful businesses.

OSUN:The #EndSARS protesters in the state under the aegis of Concerned Youths have insisted that they will return to the street despite attempt assassination of the state governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola on Saturday.

Recall Mr Oyetola on Saturday while addressing the gathering of the protesters at the popular Olaiya junction, Osogbo, Osun state capital was attacked by unknown hoodlums identified as political thugs.

One of the identified leader of the protesters, Ayo Ologun while granting interview to Rave FM Radio, Osogbo on Monday said the protest will continue since the peoples' demand has not been met, saying protest is a fundamental rights of all citizens.

According to Ologun ” I will meet with other leaders today to decided on when to resume the protest.

Reacting, Public Relation Office of the Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola said the police can not stop them from continuing the protest.

A group of Nigerian youths protesting against police brutality at the Lekki Toll Gate area of Lagos state have reportedly raised over N2 million for an elderly woman who hawks groundnut, VOICE AIR MEDIA has learnt.

According to Twitter user, @sama_on_point, who shared the report, he first said the youths contributed N500,000 to the woman at the protest ground, before thanking Super Eagles midfielder, John Ogu for making a hefty donation.

Madam Abigail Omojolagbe Makinde, the mother of the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde is dead.

It was gathered from a reliable source that the octogenarian died on Thursday.

VOICE AIR MEDIA learnt that Madam Makinde, who celebrated 80 last year November, was said to have died in the early hours of Thursday, 15th October.

Recalls that the former Oyo governor, Ajimobi lost his mum, Madam Sikirat Abeje Ajimobi on July 19, 2012, less than two years after assuming office as governor.

But the state government is yet to make an official statement about the death.

A human rights activist, Kingsley Otoghile (Esq) has petitioned the Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC, over alleged maltreatment and dismissal of one of its staff, Mr. Samuel Ojumu who was allegedly beaten to the point of death about five months while doing the company’s biding.

The petition which was made available to newsmen, is demanding among others, from BEDC, the payment of N10 million as cost of medical bills for suspected brain damaged and ongoing treatments of the victim.

This is just as two of the staff of BEDC who were allegedly involved in the attack of the victim have been arraigned before the Ughelli Magistrate Court on three count charges.

It could be recalled that Mr. Ojumu sustained life threatening injuries while he was on official duties at Okiki street, Uloho Avenue in Ughelli North local government area of Delta State and was rushed to a private hospital for medical attention before the company took him to Benin, Edo state for proper medical care.

Narrating his ordeal to newsmen at Ughelli, Delta State, Ojumu said, on June 13, 2020 I received a call from a customer in the area that some unknown persons are disconnecting light and as the Reut Marshall in charge of the area, I boarded a bike to the place.

Mrs Tomomewo Favour, the only female member of the Ondo State House of Assembly representing Ilaje Constituency II on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been suspended and expelled from the party by the executive of her ward known as Mahin ward IV.

Daniel Johnson, a 400-level student of the Tai-Solarin University of Education, Ogun State, who is on the run after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend, Bukky, has been arrested.

It was gathered that the the incident occurred in their apartment in Abapawa, ijebu-Ode, Ogun State on Friday 9th of October ,2020 at about 10PM.

It was gathered that the Chief Judge of the Students' Union came to the rescue of the lady with the assistance of the neighbors close to the hostel where the incident happened.

According to online sources, the girl who was a 200-level student of the same institution, had been in a toxic on-and-off relationship with the suspect and her father, who is a lecturer in the same school, was aware.

“ She was invited by Johnson to settle their differences on Sunday. She went to his house and he beat her to a pulp.

He stabbed her with a cutlass and left her, thinking she was dead. She was spotted by neighbors after she jumped the compound’s fence to run for her life.

Bukky was immediately rushed to the hospital but the boyfriend is nowhere to be found at the moment.” a source said.

While reacting, the security unit of the school and the students' union body disclosed to VOICE AIR MEDIA that the girl is responding to treatment at the moment.

A Man is fighting for his life after an accident in Kelebe area of Osogbo, Osun State capital, on Monday when a car allegedly tilled into a motorcycle and killed two out of the four persons who were on the bike.

It was a sad day to the residents of the community as the mother and her son have been confirmed dead in the early morning accident that happened in the ancient city.

In a report obtained by VOICE AIR MEDIA that the accident involved a family of four, consisting of husband, wife and two children who were on a motorcycle, popularly called Okada.

Residents of Alapupu, a community area under Egbedore local government are currently calling on the state government of Osun to come to their aide as a building under construction has subjected their properties to flood risk.

A resident, Yusuf Bello said he and other residents of the area wake up everyday with fear of their buildings and other valuable properties washed away by flood should there be a heavy downpour.

He is not alone with that fear, according to what many other residents told DOCPETINFO in separate interviews, but Mr Bello was able to discuss the origin of the existential threat and what he think can be done to salvage the situation.

Providing a background on how the area suddenly turned into a flood-prone environment, Mr Bello pointed at an ongoing structure along Ilobu road as the major threat they face.

According to him, the structure is being erected on a waterways and that created a different route for flood, which has now poured into his building at least three times in recent weeks.

Frank Mba, the spokesman of the Nigeria police force, says it will be difficult for any responsible organisation to scrap the special anti-robbery squad (SARS).

Speaking on the nationwide protest against the police unit, Mba said some SARS operatives are involved in the fight against insurgency and banditry in the north.

Fresh cases of police brutality renewed protests calling for an end to the special unit which is notorious for its excessive use of force, arbitrary arrests and, in some cases, extrajudicial killings.

In Lagos where the protests began and now in its second day, residents flooded major roads with placards, insisting “enough is enough”, and it is time to scrap the squad.

Olayemi Oluwaseyi Olayinka, a graduate of Christian Religious Studies, was announced as the best graduating student of BABCOCK University, Ilisha-Remo, Ogun state, a private Christian co-educational Nigerian university, during the recent convocation ceremony of the university. In this interview, he speaks with Tunde Olorungbotemi One Class on Flash point's programme on his experience and perspective of education in Nigeria and how we can achieve greatness in life if we set our minds to it.

•Tell us Something about yourself and Background?

I am Olayemi Oluwaseyi Olayinka. I'm a graduate currently waiting for my NYSC. I hail from Otun Ekiti area of Ekiti State but grew up in Akure, Ondo State capital. I was born into a family of 5, later 4 after the demise of my dad. I'm the only male of three children. Seyi is a man of integrity who likes calling a spade a spade. He also likes inspiring people into believing in themselves.

•Course studied, graduation year and graduating CGPA?

Studied Christian Religious Studies, graduated 2020, cgpa was 4.92.

•Why do you choose that course of yours and can you please share any difficulty or hurdle you faced while being a student and how you overcome?

I was studying Industrial Chemistry before in FUTA, after my 200l, I was convinced that God was calling me to something different and wants to use me in His work. So I had to leave to study Theology to be a servant in God's vineyard.

Trying to merge responsibilities with school activities was difficult. I was acting in various capacities in school starting from my 100l, by my 200l it became more tense and 300l I was made the president of one of the largest associations on campus. But I was able to overcome by planning myself and making sure it doesn't affect me, even though sometimes, mentally it does cos I like getting results, but I try to keep my head straight.

•From your background, Did you plan to come to Babcock University right from your start(i learnt you were a product of public secondary school at Aquinas college Akure, Ondo state)?

No, it was never in my plan. I am a seventh day Adventist, and Babcock is owned by my church, but the school fees is so high. So it was never my intention. Right from Aquinas I always wanted to study medicine, I tried the then University of Adi Ekiti but wasn't given admission before coming to FUTA. Even though the challenge of school fees was still there for Babcock when I was convinced I was going to go, but God saw me through.

The National association of Nigerian students (NANS) President, BAMIDELE AKPAN SHOULD BE IMPEACHED BEFORE NATIONAL CONVENTION.

Prince Mohammed Sani Hassan Last Don, said at a programme in Bauchi state organised by North East Students Circle.

Last don, in his statement said that if the allegation against Bamidele Danielson Akpan finally become true he should be immediately impeach and be taken to court for destroying the image of the organization and Nigerian students.

Recently the outgoing senate president has constituted a committee to investigate the matter, we hope the committee will do justice in their findings.

According to him, Nigerian students are waiting and watching with keen interest and I will remind them what ever they do prosperity will judge them and finally God will judge them.

I also call on the security agencies to have keen interest in this allegation for the interest of peace and unity to show example to the next coming students leaders.
