Well, while I disagree with Biafra very well, and prefer one Nigeria for many reasons..... there is absolutely nothing wrong with agitating for secession.

Many countries, like Spain, the UK, Canada, even Zambia have secessionist movements.

We can criticise IPOB for their approach, which has been disastrous, but not for having the idea of secession. That's the beauty of democracy, we get views , even the ones we don't like...to flourish.

You are very correct

That explains why singarpore with all its challenges can achieve so much in less than 70years, what Liberia could not achieve in 174 years of been a nation.

Nairaland / General / Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, And Whatsapp Are Currently Down For Everyone by Horlufemi(m): 5:43pm On Oct 04, 2021
It’s not just you: Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp are all currently down for users around the world. We’re seeing error messages on all three services across iOS applications as well as on the web. Users are being greeted with error messages such as: “Sorry, something went wrong,” “5xx Server Error,” and more.

Yep, Facebook and Instagram are down…
The outage is affecting every Facebook-owned platform, according to data on Downdetector and Twitter. This includes Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger. The outages appear to have started around 11:40 am ET/8:40 am PT and all of those services remain inaccessible.

The outages quickly started trending on Twitter as users flocked to the competing social network to check to see if other users were affected by the down time. Humorously, the hashtag “#DeleteFacebook” is also trending on Twitter as the company battles continued pushback against the effects its platforms have on younger users.

While some Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp outages only affect certain geographic regions, the services are down worldwide today. This includes the United States, the UK, Brazil, Kuwait, and more.

The outage is also affecting platforms and services that use Facebook login. Niantic, creator of Pokémon GO, says that it is “looking into reports of errors associated with Facebook login, and will update here once we have more information.”

Facebook’s internal Workplace site and associated services for employees are also suffering from an outage today, according to Jane Manchun Wong.

Facebook has not yet publicly commented on the ongoing outages affecting all of its services. We’ll be sure to update this story as we learn more. The issue appears to be related to some sort of DNS problem affecting Facebook servers.

Are Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp currently down for you? Let us know in the comments below.

WhatsApp statement
In a statement, WhatsApp acknowledges that its service is down:

We’re aware that some people are experiencing issues with WhatsApp at the moment. We’re working to get things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible.

I don't understand why this article has only one like. Seems people don't like the truth. They like what they want to hear.

May God give us the grace to keep his commandments.

Amen

blueAgent:
The 10commandments are very popular and well known by Christian's, but only few adhere or obey it. there are various reasons for people not obeying the 10commandments.
One reason is that they claim it was abolished on the cross by the death of Jesus, which ushered us into the dispensation of grace and the Holy spirit.
Some observe 9 and leave out the 4th that commands us to observe the sabbath day.
But are all this reasons legitimate?

First before we dive deeper into this subject we need to understand what the law is and what it stands for.

Sin is defined as the transgression of the LAW.1john3:4, of course the law quoted here is the 10commandments because paul quoted the commandments in Romans7:7(Romans 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.) and Roman's 13:9.

For where their is no law sin is not imputed. Romans 5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

As long as sin exist there must be a standard or measure to identify it,and that is the 10commandments.

This brings us to the question of why the law and why we need it.

God has given us (Man and Angels)the privilege or gift of freewill.
Meaning we have the freedom to choose to obey and worship God or not.
Deuteronomy 30:15,
Having this gift of freewill necessitated God to set boundaries or laws to act as a guide to help us make the right choice. Genesis 2:9,Genesis 2:16-17.

Do we still need the law in this Era of grace and Holyspirit?
Yes we still need it , even more.
Remember that Adam and Eve were given command not to eat from a certain tree.
They saw the Face of God, were living in his presence, had everything they could ever want yet they fell, remember also that they sinned against God in an Unfallen state.

Another example is that of Satan(Lucifer) Ezekiel 28:12& 15 and his Demons(fallen Angels) they were all made perfect, stood in the presence of God and had beheld his glory but they still fell into Sin.
Some have argued that since we have been given the Holyspirit hence we do not need the law, this is not true because the Holyspirit does not force our will or Choice. its work is to help us to make the right choice only when we have subjected our will and Choice to the word and commandments of God.
An example is the story of David and his lust torwards Besharba, 2Samuel 11:2

Having the Holy spirit did not stop David from committing murder and Audeltry.
Psalm 51:11.

When we discard the Law or commandments of God we end up establishing our own standard or level of righteousness which is not acceptable to God. Mathews 15:6-9.
Psalms 19:12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.

Like we have seen , Standing in the presence of God,seeing the face of God and having the Holy spirit did not stop this great people from (Lucifer to Adam) from falling into sin , becos they failed to understand that to love God and trust him is to obey his commandments and word.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

To the subject of grace.

Grace does not give us license to sin(transgress the law)rather the work of grace is to pardon us when we fall short of the standard set or required by the law.

Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? Romans 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

A typical example of grace and law at work is the story of the auldtress woman, John 8:7
When she was brought before Jesus, Jesus showed her grace or mercy which he shows to everyone of us today, rather than condem her to death(wages of Sin is death,Romans 6:23) which she and all of us deserves, Christ forgave her but instructed her not to commit adultery again(not break the 7th commandments).
We can clearly see that while Jesus forgave that woman her Sins, (gave her grace) he in no way encouraged or wants the woman to continue in her Sin.

The truth is that Christ died inorder to free us from the penalty of breaking the law which is death.
His death did not free us from keeping God's commandments.
Christ himself said that he has not come to destroy but to fulfill and keep the law, and that neither a dot or T will ever be changed from the law, Mathews 5:17-19.

In Conclusion.

The idea that as Christian's we are no longer expected to keep the law is unbiblical in fact the Bible calls it lawlessness and anyone not subject to law of God as been an enemy of God.
Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

If God deem it necessary to give Adam and Eve laws to observe in their unfallen state how much more we in our fallen state?
We even need it more to act as a restrain.

When we appreciate and understand the function, beauty and Holiness of God's 10 laws than we will understand that only by keeping it can one become righteous and pleasing to God.

Psalms 37:30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment. 37:31 The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.

Psalms 40:8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

Psalms 119:1 Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.

Psalms 119:150 They draw nigh that follow after mischief: they are far from thy law.

Psalms 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Other Bible verses to consider.
Proverbs 28:9, Isaiah 2:3, Proverbs 28:4,proverbs 7:2, Proverbs 6:23, Proverbs4:2

Thank You for reading.

God bless.

Religion / Re: 10 Life Lessons And Teachings Of Jesus That The World Needs by Horlufemi(m): 12:52pm On May 23, 2021
Jokerman:
Jesus Christ took the Jewish people and religious leaders by surprise when He dismantled many of their traditions. In Mark 7:9 He said to some religious leaders, “All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.”

As the Son of God, Jesus taught many things to help us live victoriously. Let’s look at ten life lessons that we can learn from Jesus.

#1 Love God with all that you are
Matthew 22:36-38 says, “’Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?’ Jesus said to him, ‘“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment.’”

If we love God with ALL that we are, then everything else falls into place. When we love other things or people more than we love God, it sets us up for trouble. Don’t love anyone or anything more than you love God.

#2 Love others
Jesus went on to tell the disciple the second greatest commandment as well: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39). The truth is, we sure do love ourselves! We do many things for ourselves each day; likewise, we love others by putting them before ourselves. This is a difficult thing for our selfish flesh, but it’s an important command.

Jesus takes loving others even further in Luke 6:27: “But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you.” That’s right; according to the Son of God, we’re supposed to even love our enemies!

#3 Nothing is more important than the Kingdom of God
What is the Kingdom of God? First, it’s not a physical kingdom—yet. Someday, King Jesus will set up His Kingdom on the earth in all its fullness, but for now, it’s a spiritual kingdom that is breaking into the physical realm.

Religious leaders asked when God’s Kingdom would be established (thinking God would wipe out the Romans who were ruling over them). In Luke 17:20-21 Jesus “answered them and said, ‘The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, “See here!” or “See there!” For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.’
Clearly, the Kingdom of God is freedom from oppression, healing and wholeness, hope, peace and joy!

Jesus declared in Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Instead of running after what we think we need or want, we should be pursuing God’s Kingdom, knowing that He will take care of everything.

#4 Don’t love money
Money in itself is not evil, but the love of money will always lead to trouble. Jesus said in Matthew 6:24, “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” (Mammon is another word for money.) Jesus understood the power money could have over the human heart.

Remember, if we love anything or anyone more than God, we make that person or thing “god” on the throne of our heart, and that’s idolatry. On the other hand, if we will guard ourselves from the love of money, we certainly can do many good things with it. The key is this: control your money; don’t allow it to control you.

#5 Don’t worry about earthly needs—trust God to provide
It’s easy to get concerned about the things we need, but instead of worrying, God asks us to trust Him to provide because He cares for us.

Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:24, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?” God is a good Father, and He will never let us down!

#6 Spiritual greatness is achieved through serving others and being humble
The religious leaders of Jesus’ day thought that being holy or spiritual meant praying loudly for everyone to hear, giving money for everyone to see, and avoiding sinners.

However, in Matthew 23:11-12 Jesus taught, “But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Humbly serving people in the name of Christ is the greatest indication of one’s spirituality.

#7 Losing your soul to gain the world isn’t worth it
In Matthew 16:26 Jesus asked, “For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” Clearly, we have a choice to make: if we choose the world, we lose our soul; but if we choose Jesus, we gain life!

But choosing Jesus requires that we live differently than the world: “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:13-14).

Living narrowly means that we think differently, we talk differently, we respond differently and we live differently than the world (non-believers). We must not blend in but honor Christ by standing out.

#8 If you want forgiveness, first you must give it
Receiving forgiveness for a wrong you’ve committed sure feels great. But in the Kingdom of God, to receive forgiveness, you must be willing to forgive others. In Matthew 6:14-15 Jesus teaches, “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

Forgiveness doesn’t mean that what someone did to you was okay but that you’re releasing them from repaying you for the wrong (which they most likely cannot “repay” anyway). Releasing them frees you to have peace and to enjoy your life.

#9 Religion alone doesn’t make you holy
In Jesus’ day, religious people were consumed with following rules and laws that were impossible to keep. They were obsessed with outward appearances and looking good to other people. But in Matthew 15:11, Jesus taught, “Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”

This was a radical idea at that time because Jesus was challenging the idea that it wasn’t certain “evil” foods that contaminated them but the things that came from inside them that made them unholy (like lust, pride, hatred, and jealousy which led them to do evil things). Religion and beliefs are no good if they don’t transform the heart.

#10 Following Christ means denying ourselves
Jesus knew that living selfishly is not the way to have life. Jesus Himself demonstrated this when He denied Himself and gave His life on the cross to redeem and save mankind. Matthew 16:24-25 says:

“Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.’”

Denying ourselves means that we choose what God says, not what we or others say; we choose God’s ways, not our way; we choose what’s right, not what’s easy or convenient. When we deny ourselves, we may lose relationships or opportunities, but in the end, we’ll have real life in Christ.
