Family / Re: Is It Wrong To Raise An African Child The British Or American Way? by Horlufemi(m): 5:11pm On Mar 01, 2021
BadRadio:
Truth is that I am African but I dispise the standards in Africa. Africa seems too primitive, naive and backwards in terms of everything... and I've usually thought of raising my kids the British or American style.

of what importance is an African parents culture and tradition in raising their children the African way rather that the British or American way?

Would it be sensible if a child is a genius in English language than mother tongue.

Are there disadvantages.

Africans, especially Nigerians have zero values. People with values in Nigeria are hated. If you want to stealing under your watch you're evil for not letting them to steal.

They are most holiest unrighteous hypocrites in the world that are very religious.

No I don't want to raise my kids the African way and not even in Africa.

Religion / Re: 7 Reasons A Christian Should Not Take Alcohol by Horlufemi(m): 10:25am On Jan 24, 2021
jesusjnr2020:
[s]7 Reasons Why A Christian Should Not Take Alcohol

1. It is misleading and deceptive.

It has the tendency to make people become vulnerable to sin and to fall into temptations.

Proverbs 20:1 (KJV)

Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

2. It is addictive.

It's easy to say "take a little", but many who have become addicted to alcohol today didn't start by taking much. And once one becomes addicted to it, it's hard to come out of it. That's how many found themselves trapped today. So don't start what you can't finish.

Isaiah 5:22 (KJV)

Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:

3. It impairs people's judgment.

Isaiah 28:7 (KJV)

But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.

Proverbs 31:4-5 (KJV)

It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

4. It's not meant for the consecrated.

In the church or the House of God in the old testament, it was prohibited for the consecrated.

Leviticus 10:8-10 (KJV)

And the LORD spake unto Aaron, saying,
Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:
And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;

Ezekiel 44:20-21 (KJV)

Neither shall they shave their heads, nor suffer their locks to grow long; they shall only poll their heads.
Neither shall any priest drink wine, when they enter into the inner court.

If that's anything to go by, then every individual in the church or House of God of the new testament is not supposed to take alcohol, since the church ought to be a gathering of priests.

5. It does more harm than good.

Whatever benefits there were of taking alcohol, health experts advise that it's best to avoid taking alcohol at all, because it does more harm than good to one's health. It's not even a necessity to begin with, which makes it even more avoidable.

6. It's a counterfeit intoxicating spirit to the original which is the Spirit of God.

Luke 1:15 (KJV)

For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.

Ephesians 5:18 (KJV)

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

The above sayings show that they both have a similar function in the respect of intoxication, however alcohol is the counterfeit while the Holy Spirit is the Original. It's actually the lack of the original that makes people go for the counterfeit which is alcohol, but if e no be the Spirit of God, e no fit be like the Spirit of God. Hence the garbage that comes with taking alcohol, because it's the counterfeit and hence of inferior quality when compared to the Original which is the Holy Spirit. That's why the difference was clearly distinguished in those sayings, and the advise not to be drunk with alcohol but with the Spirit of God, because the difference is very clear. Hence every Christian ought to be filled with the Spirit of God and not alcohol. And when one has the Spirit of God, he wouldn't need alcohol for anything, because any good thing alcohol could give to him, the Spirit of God would give him more of it, and even those good things alcohol lacks and cannot give, like the power to heal the sick, cast out devils, raise the dead, cure the lepers etc. So why would a Spirit-filled Christian want to get high on the counterfeit, when he's already got the Original in the person of the Holy Spirit?

7. It causes spiritual drowsiness.

It makes people to fall asleep and not watch as Jesus had commanded us to do, and that would be one of the reasons many would not be prepared and miss the rapture or His second coming.

Luke 21:34 (KJV)

And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Matthew 24:48-51 (KJV)

But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

So let alcohol not be the reason you miss heaven.

God bless.[/s]

Why do you want your opinion on others? Why?

Do you know if it's was an alcoholic wine or just ordinary?

Wine from it's beginning was alcoholic.

The first non alcoholic wine was in 1869

The method of pasteurizing grape juice to halt the fermentation has been attributed to an American physician and dentist, Thomas Bramwell Welch in 1869. A strong supporter of the temperance movement, he produced a non-alcoholic wine to be used for church services in his hometown of Vineland, New Jersey.

The problem with contemporary young generation is that many of you were born into your families when morality vacated your family homes. Being strict is different from being wicked, he is discipling you as his own children so your future can be better, you are here ranting he is wicked.

Many of you just like places you will not be tamed so that you can do whatever you want like forming cult groups on campus, turning campus to Olosho house. If he is not strict and people still allow to do whatever they like, these spoilt rats will still come back here to complain and cast aspersions if any bad thing goes wrong with the school. Go to Catholic schools and see descipline, you these spoilt rats.

Your fathers get money, but lack morality, so when your fathers finally dumb you into CU as correctional center, you begin to misunderstand 'strictness' to ' wickedness' because your fathers failed to even show you '101' of moralities before you left for school because your families lack moralities in the first place. If you like to become wayward and hates descipline, no need of going there, go to federal and state universities and do what you like. Judas Iscariots!

Somebody is sweating to make you great, you call it wickedness! Spoilt rats! Go to volatile areas in North and ask for the meaning of wickedness!

So expelling someone without Bible is right?

You could have told people who run businesses that are not up to standard that they are mediocre. You can tell people who buy tokunbo vehicles that they should buy latest brand new vehicles because tokunbo is mediocre.

Beauty, they say, is in the eye of the beholder.

It therefore wouldn't be invalid to say, when it comes to appreciation of music, that the beauty of music is in the ear of the beholder. And if we remember that music has been defined, by some, as food to the soul, it means therefore, that what is food to one's soul may be poison to the soul of another when you consider that we all have different soul.

There's no objective yardstick to judgment of art because aesthetics judgment is purely subjective.

I'm compelled to ask this question because most time, I've seen songs that are hit but just can't make it into my playlist. Some hit songs irritate me actually.

So what's that hit song that everyone else grooves to but just doesn't cut it for you?

2) Mafa Mafa by DMW
3) No Stress by Wizkid
4) Wonderful by Burna Boy
5) Yeye Boyfriend by Bolanle ft Zlatan
6) Issa Goal by Naira Marley
7) Lady by Rena

9) Call by Joeboy
10) Wo, Woske, Pawo, etc, by Olamide.

Good one Paul Okoye!! Still, I don't support #EndSars but to reform it with total overhauling..

-Cultist war, violence and bloodshed by street urchins, criminal hideouts, kidnappers den, oppression of the cyber criminals, illegal possession of arms, oppression of territorial area bad gangs, area disturbance and domination by thugs and hoodlums, communal clash, run away suspects, etc.... should be seriously considered before banning it. Most mainland and ghetto areas know what I'm talking about because highbrow dwellers who support the ban only have little experience of what others encounters daily..

We all agree that F-SARS are guilty of all charges against them but I don't support total ban of it.. The protest enough to redress them aggressively.

Family / Re: What Will You Do If You Have My Kind Of Parents? by Horlufemi(m): 7:27pm On Sep 19, 2020
SecretSpy666:
Greetings Nairalanders,
I want to seek for you peoples opinions regarding my family challenges.

I'm from a broken home. My parents divorced when I was a child of two years. I'm the only child from their union. My father and mother abandoned me and remarried to other spouse each. I passed through hell growing up with relatives who insulted me with all kinds of names and I was treated like a slave to their own children.

Because of public outcry about my dehumanizing treatment, my father came to village and took me to the city. It was from fry pan to fire experience as my father's new wife was maltreating me. At a point, my father asked me to leave his house that since my arrival, he don't have peace with his wife.

I packed to the house of a relative and work in a block industry to help myself. Most times, I slept in a CAC church close to the relative house as the two-room apartment is not enough for his family. My mother never care if I was alive. She never call me nor reply to letter I sent through someone to her. I continued working in the block industry and started a part time programme. I completed the part time programme and did my NYSC and master degree. I got a job with University of Ado Ekiti with the help of a course mate, managing myself now and surprisingly my mother and father started calling me often.

Both of them have 6 children each with their respective second spouse. Mother want his son to come and live with me, I refused and my father too have been requesting for financial assistance which I also refused. I don't want to have anything to do with both of them. My father's daughter recently called me to help her with school fees, I bluntly told her to ask her mother what she did to me and caught the call. Since then, she never call.

I'm alone and have just two friends. I don't have family. All of them calling now are just looking for what to get from me, not that they care about me. My mother never call me once to ask about my welfare even when I sent my phone number to her through her relative. I wrote WAEC, completed degree course before she started calling me and it is only to request for one thing or other. I'm planning to get married without telling them and build a separate family.

Start Life a new.

Change your name

Enjoy life

Those people are undeserving.

I agree with you but the decision if the school board was extreme. That's like cutting off a child's hand for eating cake. My point is they sin in their own corner too. Expelling her was extreme. They could have suspended her because she didn't know better but the school is more important than the student or the hospital is more important than the patient.
