Why is it okay for this minister to set the bar so low?
This Minister is pessimistic; If you set the bar so low means you aren't challenging yourself enough.
Politics › Re: Forget Ogbunigwe, Ever Heard Of Autonov 1? by Horus(m): 12:50am On Nov 14, 2011
Why some of you are laughing at the Autonov 1?. As soon as a black African even thinks of creating a new invention or doing something useful the very first obstacle he encounters are his fellow Africans. You will always hear things like: It is not safe, it will not work, it is a lie, he didn't make it, it can't work, its too crude, its dangerous, or they will say that Oyinbos are making better ones,e.t.c, those are the usual chorus of condemnation we will always hear. But there is virtually no beginning that is not crude, dangerous, cumbersome , slow or even ridiculous. This is just the way it is. And if a black African innovator persists against great odds, overcomes the its not safe/its too primitive chorus he runs into the next level of obstacle his own government and its agents. Either the government agents demand bribe or they simply criminalize the fellow.

Sports › Re: When Will Africa Host the Olympic Games? by Horus(m): 4:45pm On Nov 13, 2011
Africa should definitely bid for the 2020 Olympic games. The success of the just concluded World cup is a clear testament that we are capable of hosting international events. Apart from the economic gains, it will help to change the perception and views about Africa by the outside world.

True, and this model should have been upgraded today with modern technology and produced in Nigeria.
Politics › Re: US Military To Help Fight Boko Haram by Horus(m): 5:36pm On Nov 12, 2011
Inviting US Military in Nigeria will create more terrorism. This will attract the Islamic maghreb terrorists (AQIM), and al-Shabaab from Somalia to come to Nigeria to help Boko Haram. They will take new recruits and plan terrorist attacks on Nigerian cities in the South, (Lagos, Port Harcourt, etc). They will go after "soft targets" by sending suicide bombers in crowded shopping mall, markets and bus transport. If US Military come in Nigeria you can say "good bye" to peace. Dont allow the Americans in Nigeria.

The US government will tell you: give us free oil and we help you fight Boko Haram. This is a great deception as part of the plan to continue to go under cover of so-called war on terror by U.S. military forces to take oil and any thing else without the people of the land receiving anything but death for their land. The code name is "Africom". The US government is planing to take over Africa's wealth and remove by any means all who oppose or don't oppose to get at what ever they think they should have?

I fear for our people because they never get in-depth knowledge of the foreign aliens religions that they get involved in, making it very easy to mislead them with fanaticism. By that I mean, the Muslims in Nigeria, that is, African converts, 99% do not and cannot read, write, and speak classical Arabic (Fusha) of the Qur’aan, so they are always depending on some foreign source to interpret and explain their religion to them.

International law on the use of force is crystal clear: nations may use unilateral force only to defend themselves against attack or imminent threat of attack.
Article 2.4 of the UN Charter authorizes the unilateral use of force only in self-defense, which means when attacked or when faced with an imminent threat of attack. In this case Iran is not attacking anyone.

The same applies to Christianity, Christian ministers know their congregations do not study the Greek or Hebrew of which they say their scriptures were revealed in. They depend on a Scottish man called King James who did not speak Hebrew.

The FG should cancel the bus importation and should increase its tax on foreign-built buses; this measure is necessary to defend the Nigerian bus manufacturing industry and create more jobs.

Politics › Re: How Should The Fg Stop Boko Haram? by Horus(m): 11:14am On Nov 08, 2011
We need to address the root cause of these incidents of violence before it is too late. Often, peace-loving people are not proactive in promoting peace in Nigeria, and those who are proactive lack peace within. A combination of peace and dynamism is needed in Nigeria today. Though this may seem idealistic, it is not impossible. It is possible through right education and orientation. Each one of us can play a role in educating Nigerians on the human values of friendliness, compassion and non-aggression.

Politics › Re: Nigeria Cash Based Economy Aids Corruption by Horus(m): 11:32pm On Nov 07, 2011
paniki:
So you think there's no corruption in America? People in Nigeria conduct embezzlement which is a form of corruption made easy by a cash system but Americans engage in bid rigging, bribery, cronyism, fraud, racketeering and many other forms of corruption.
And while we take serious issue with African based corruption. We must overstate that it is very easy, and sometimes a trick to hide massive bleeding of African resources. So the guy with 20 BMW does not compare to Shell-Exxon exploitation in Africa. Or the 85% white ownership of South Africa. It is easier to demonize the guy with his private jet and put a face to corruption. However, he is nothing compared to multinational exploitation , not even a pin prick. And the ultimate beneficiary of African corruption is the business and banks of Western Europe and America.
