I'm running my personal projects, while my wife paid N12.5m of her own funds to buy land back in Nigeria, within a year of moving abroad. While she was in Nigeria, her employer was paying her N45,000 per month and doing guy on top.

What worked for Adam might not work for Adamu.

Not all Igbo hate the Yoruba and Yorubaland. I am sure of this fact 101%! My only issue with those minority of Igbo is that they don't speak up because they are scared. It is their silence that gave room to those ignorant of their positive vibes to dominate the narrative. I know many of my Igbo friends, especially the childhood friends, who will rather converse with me in Yoruba language than in English language. In fact, my Igbo friends overseas do it even more so that foreigners around them don't hear our conversations.

These minority of Igbo with excellent relationships and experience with their Yoruba need to speak up more and showcase how they have been blessed by their love for Yorubaland so the hate-filled Igbo can realise how they are hurting themselves and the Igbo tribe's reputation and relationship with the Yoruba.

Those Igbo who love the Yoruba and Yorubaland will always live in peace in Yorubaland, respect the Yoruba culture of respect for elders and leaders, pray for peace and prosperity of their hosts and Yorubaland will in turn bless them. They are the ones who are already Yoruba even by adoption. They will not go into politics of lies, hate and bigotry against the dominant political interests of the Yoruba not because they don't have a right to do so but because they cherish the Yoruba and want to make peace. They are not cowards but exposed, emotionally intelligent and wise people.

Meanwhike, this is the best time to invest in Lagos and the neighbouring SW states. Invest in Lagos today.
Check my signature for free stuffs!

I couldn’t help but like your comment . I’m in fact one of those Igbos that love Lagos, since my family have been there since before the 60s.

But you also need to understand that most of the Yorubas that hate Igbos are down on their luck, and so angry that they don’t have the means to benefit from the economic activities booming in Lagos, and they somehow think igbo man is to blame.

My Yoruba supplier told me last week that I’m his best customer, I wonder how he will feel on hearing the rants of a financially hopeless Yoruba loser living in the villages, who’s only asset is a phone, data and free Nairaland to his name.

Oh Yeah! Now you know the kind of people that promote tribalism on social media. Let’s not get into the type of Igbos that promote yorobaphobia in the east, those ones are irredeemable , they don’t worth my mention.

How can someone be attending Christ embassy and winners chapel?? I Heard she wants to join mountain of fire but changed her mind.
Everytime church, church, church
Yet she never gain anything from it
I have been sending her money for her for upkeep since November last year only to come back home February this year and discovered she donates everything to different churches

I feel she might have a mental disorder and I don't know how to save her.
She literally spends all the money in church donation tithe and all those craps. And those pastors always calling her to come for one program or the other. I don't know what to do

Family / Re: Genotype Issue. Please Be Rational ( I Am Not A Religious Person) by hosemujica: 2:07am On Jul 10, 2023
Bolt458:
I am not writing this for religious people to come with their funny talks, I am just putting this out here to hear from people who might have tried this methods or who heard about this methods and still proceeded or did not. I want to hear your experience. I have been dating someone for 5 years now, it happened that I began to see her as someone I would want to spend my life with. Last year we did our genotype test and we were both AS. Now , I know some of you will say this should be the first thing you ask when you meet someone but c’mon, would you say people in university that are dating now, would ask their sef that question? That theory is only feasible when you are single and ready to get married and want to start a new relationship, then you can always ask, but we all know some of our relationships started when we no Dey even see marriage in the nearest future, all of a sudden you just see them as the right person and you take the bold step. Now, I had to meet my family doctor here in Canada, I explained to him my current situation and he referred me to a GENETIC COUNSELOR. I am trying to take the necessary steps cause I am not ready to bring in a child with Sickle cell to this world, and I am not leaving anything to faith. A fone appointment was set with the counselor and we spoke at length. She told me that in every foetus, there is a 25% chance that we can get an SS child. Now , how do we mitigate this percentage to the barest minimum I asked as I am not even ready to bring in a sickler to this world. She gave me three options, I would rather say two because the last involves test when the baby comes, and that is out of the question.

Option 1:
A) CVS: They take a sample of the fluid in the womb through her vagina, at 12 weeks to test, if it’s good then fine, if not we have to terminate.

OR

B) At 16 weeks, they take the fluid using a needle directly from her womb, and if it’s SS , they terminate. Both procedures are cover by the government and we don’t need to pay a dime.

Now, she assured me that abortion is a very safe procedure if done properly, and it is even a bigger risk that one can die from a penicillin injection or carrying a pregnancy to term than any harm during an abortion.I know many people would come here and say abortion is this and that but let us be frank to ourselves. If you were told that the child in your womb would have cerebral palsy, or Down syndrome or a neurological disorder, would you still keep that pregnancy? Is there a 100% assurance that two AA people would give birth to a healthy baby? I have come to a realization that pregnancy is just a risk that people take, cus you really don’t know how your child would turn out.

Option 2:
PGD. This is just like IVF, where they would select the genotype before they insert back to the womb. She told me the government doesn’t cover this, and it could cost between $10K- $40k. However she mentioned, just like IVf, it is not guaranteed as it can fail and your money is gone.

I discussed this with my girl in Nigeria and she said she was fine with option 1a. I then asked her, that if the first, second are SS would she still remove it. She accepted. I would not lie to you, this girl is everything I want in a woman. I am not just looking at just love because I know love fades with time, but she is a really nice person, and has a good character. She has always been like this from my days in Nigeria because I was with her before I moved outside. Now after finding out our genotype, I tried to get into a relationship with AA. The first one Dey nigeria, she is a nice person, beautiful, but I just didn’t like her or feel attracted to her. She got tire and we just free ourselves, the second one is here in Canada, I just don’t like this one . Please note, I never slept with any of these ladies because I feel it’s not fair.

Now my question is for those who knew all this and still proceeded, how did it work out for you?

I repeat, don’t come here to tell me about how abortion is this and dat. Cus I know if they tell any of you that your child would be abnormal, 90% of you will go for the abortion
Op. follow your mind , the life we live alone is a big risk so people here discouraging you don’t even understand the life they themselves are living in. I happen to know a lot about all you explained, in my case I gave my girl all these options she rejected them. We went our separate ways, the story gets interesting after that , this world have a lot of twist and turns sha.

Apart from afro beats and gospel music, I'd like to know what's that one music genre from Nigeria that's not popular, but yet capable of uniting all Nigerians from all parts of Nigeria despite them being from different tribes?

In South Africa I'd have to say it's gwijo music genre... The name originates from the Xhosa culture and it involves collective singing, it has now spread throughout all the South African cultures to a point that you'd find people singing this genre of music in celebrations, funerals, schools, work places, and any other community gatherings, it doesn't matter the tribe you're from... It's capable of uniting families, friends, school mates, colleagues, community members, and etc.

Some of us grew up singing this genre of music, but we just didn't know the actual name for it... grin grin grin

So I'd like to know which Nigerian music genre is also capable of uniting Nigerians apart from Afro beats and gospel.

I'll give examples of gwijo music.

1. A group of friends singing together.

4. A football team singing together.

5. South African firefighters singing in Canada upon arriving to assist with wildfires.

Romance / Re: Taking Advantage Of Quiet People by hosemujica: 3:09pm On Jun 25, 2023
Rosaline5000:
Why do most people like taking advantage of quiet people, as if they think if someone is quiet they see them as "mumu" because it's really frustrating.

Someone been quiet doesn't mean the people dont know anything or can't handle situation.

Take for example, there is one neighbour I have, she has been looking for a house girl for months now and she was willing to pay 25k for it, she has even paid an agent for it.
So one day she met this house girl that was living in the same street with her friend and asked her if she can find a girl for her, the house girl said she has a Sister that she can bring for her.
So this my neighbour gave her 15k to bring the girl, then the girl came and start working for her, the girl was very quiet and humble, she can tell the girl to run up and down the street and the girl will do it without complain.

My neighbour have a shop so the girl was going to the shop and doing Sales girl and also doing house girl at home, after one month my neighbour didn't pay the girl saying the 15k she use to bring the girl is her first month salary.
The girl didn't say anything because she is a quiet person and my neighbour like telling everyone that this girl doesn't know anything and she is the one teaching her everything.
So after second month of working my neighbour finally paid the girl and guess what she paid her 10k, imagine in this economy she is paying someone that is doing sales girl and house girl together for her 10k and the funny thing was she paid the girl once the girl told her, her period have come and she should buy pad for her, then she gave her her salary and tell her to buy pad from it.

It's just funny how some people thinks they are so smart they can take advantage of people, anyway the housegirl shocked her last week and pack her things and left, she was so surprised saying it people around that have spoiled the girl for her because she can't believe someone quiet like that can have her own mind of making that decision.
Now she is looking for a new girl and anybody she met they are telling her 25k and more, funny thing was that the old housegirl could have accepted 15k only of she didn't try to be smart about the situation.
If she’s still available for work and you have her contact please let me know .

MetaBroadband:
Good morning mature men and women in the house. Please I need your help on this topic.

My Fiancee told me about how her biological dad abandoned her and her mum after getting her mum pregnant.

Her mum later married another man who adopted her as his child.

Now she's grown and I've proposed to her, I wanted to go for her official introduction and list collection.

Would it not be nice to hear the biological father's opinion? Should I just ignore the fact that the man is still alive and proceed with the marriage arrangement?

Although she said I should not bother about that, but this is Nigeria and as an Akwa Ibomite I don't think it's proper. Although she's against me trying to find out about the man's opinion. Should I care?

What can you say about this?

Note: she only told me that the man abandoned them, but what if it was her mum that actually took her away?
Go and hear his side of the story.
Romance / Re: Black People Are Helping In Promoting Racism! Change My View. by hosemujica: 11:59am On May 23, 2023
Infolenka:
Racism derives from a lack of respect. You only discriminate and look down on people you don't respect. And respect is earned not given for free.

If black people want to end racism we need to earn the respect of the world. And we are failing woefully at that .

Nobody is racist towards the Chinese even though there are a lot of things to be racist about them. Why? Because they have earned the respect of the world.

You only earn world wide respect through scientific and technological advancement. It's that simple. There is no other way.

Majority of the popular black people in the world are actors, musicians and sports people.
The world doesn't care about these sorts of people. It doesn't matter how many of them you have, it's not going to earn you respect.

Think about this: How many Russian musicians, actors or sports people do you know? Yet everyone respects Russians. How many Chinese musicians, actors or sports people do you know? Yet everyone respects the Chinese. Science and technology is the only thing that brings respect.

We keep promoting useless fools like these BBNiaja housemates, jobless Yahoo boys, ashawos and touts, and yet expect the world to respect us?

In universities serious students with prospects are insulted and cajoled by their yahooboy/ashawo peers because they take their studies seriously. We give awards and financial rewards to people who do useless things but give no regard to smart young people with brilliant technological ideas, yet we expect the world to respect us?

Black people are a global joke and unless we acknowledge that and look for ways to stop being a joke to the world, racism will continue.

If blacks around the world should earn respect fast then Nigeria has to rise up to the challenge, why? Because we are the most populous black nation in the world, but look around you, we don’t even know what we represent let alone how great we can be.

We are still engrossed in our own special kind of racism ( tribalism) . We worship frivolous achievements and exalt corruption and stealing, we use every opportunity to blame others ,from ( village people , uncle, aunty to white Europeans) for our misfortune, Just go ahead and say we we are irredeemable.

Some will come here and say “we are not irredeemable in Jesus name!” That’s the kind of people I’m talking about, they sleep in churches using precious time to pray for miracle while others are in labs and factories creating innovative technologies.
