Hello everyone. My Aunty’s 6months visitors visa was granted. Praise the Lord! To help someone else I’ll post details of her application.

Background: my aunt is unmarried and has no children. So our worry was proving she had ties in Nigeria. Her only travel history is SA. She owns a salon, and my sister who works in Tech in the UK stood in as her sponsor. My other sister is graduating from her masters so we included an invite letter from the school.

Standard Application: Oct 26th
Biometrics & Documents submitted: Nov 1st
Dhl Email: Nov 9th
Passport Delivered with visa: Nov 10th

Documents submitted:
1. Letter of Introduction on company letterhead (explicitly stated she anticipates returning back to Nigeria because of her business)
2. CAC Registration of Business Name
3. 2022 Annual returns Certificate (ensured the business was active on CAC portal)
4. 4 months Personal Bank Statement & Cover letter
5. 4 months Business Bank Statement & Cover letter (she wasn’t paying herself a salary)

You may appeal against the decision to refuse a visa to the Deputy Director of Visas, BP 83609, 44036 Nantes cedex 1, within thirty days from the date of the present notification. Filing an appeal before the Deputy Director of Visas is a mandatory pre-condition to appeal against the decision.

Don’t you think if I appeal with more evidence like ties to come back after my visit will work. Going to another Schengen country won’t that look suspicious that why didn’t I appeal with France since all my documents are genuine.

Now if I’m to appeal I know I will use same documents again.

But I made a mistake I didn’t add a letter from Unilag where I do DLI and currently in year 3.

Invoice from my business and may be business pictures if needed.

Do I need an introduction letter from my parents too.

Please if there is any suggestions again kindly help me with it. Because I want appeal again next week.

Hi. You can appeal, chances are minimal. You parcel your documents to Nantes.
Follow the steps on the decision letter.
However, appeals are subject to scrutiny. Its a 50/50 chance.
You can also decide to re apply to another schengen country after a month whilst you fix all issues.

Please note: Read carefully to understand and do away with panicking , Respectfully.
It is not a do or die affair.
You can still get a schengen visa. Goodluck

You can try another schengen country but first administer solutions to the previous refusal. Goodluck

If Parent are late, you can use an affidavit from High court in place. You need get the date of passing and other requisite. Affidavit covers these categories. Simple

I submitted my application since the 7th of July 😭 till now no feedback

This application was submitted August 30th.

I will confirm and get back the status for Lagos.

Your application is received and under assessment at "The South Africa High Commission,Lagos. You will be notified via SMS/Mail once your passport is ready for collection

Someone posted that the Canada High Commission in Nigeria is closed until further notice.

I flew Airpeace, kenya Airways and Aircotedvoire at the 3 instances. For me, i book the cheapest, and i aint bothered about the number of stops as long as it doesnt exceed 6-8 hrs,I am good.

Looking at the otps(Online travel platforms) Taag Airlines is the cheapest at the moment. They stop in Luanda for 6hrs, so pls confirm with your ticketing agent to be sure of what you booking.

That been said, the department of home affairs is one entity. Whether vfs or dha. There is only one home affairs, because i personally visited their office in Pretoria and also stopped by at VFS office.
The VFS works for DHA as a submission center. They file for applicants and process to DHA. so please, dont mix things up.
If you are arriving in SA, You can arrive at 2 point OR TAMBO in Johannesburg or Capetown International Airport, which is just about 2hrs from Johannesburg. However, while filling your application, if you didnt put Capetown as arrival point, dont arrive there. Arrive in Jo burg. OR TAMBO is more sophiscated to handle all sort of visas. So i will go back to my initial response to you. Arrive in jo burg, rest a day in Pretoria, and fly SAA To CPT(Capetown) the following day.

I have been to SA thrice this year and my visas came out in less than 7days, and i think the last one was just 2days. I am a frequent traveler,so our cases are not same.
For someone i know traveled recently, visa came out in 10days. SA visa is also quite tough to get now, you have to get your applications right. I wish you luck.

WHEN ARRIVING SA, YOU ARRIVE THROUGH JO BURG OR TAMBO, THEN FLYSA AIR TO CPT. YOU DID NOT KNOW, SO YOU CAN RE TRAVEL SINCE YOU ARE BACK. YOUR VISA IS STILL VALID.

Like i said, money was not the issue neither was the travel history because if we were to judge, she had a good case. unfortunately, interviewers cover other areas for visa judgement. You may need to talk to her and try again. No pressures.

These things happen. However, you need to do an overview with your mum again on questions asked. Something somewhere didnt go well.

SO my mom was denied her visa today at the Lagos consulate. Her reason to visit the US is to attend my graduation in December. I She was only asked two questions, what she does and how much she earns.
She is a business woman and in her ds160, it was filled that she earns #500,000. So she answered that she makes a minimum of #500,000 in a month and sales may go as high as #1million in some months.
The VO asked her about her income twice and told her she's not capable to visit with that amount and gave her a blue paper.
I really want her to attend my graduation guys, please I'll appreciate if anyone can propose a solution that can increase her chance if she was to reapply before December.
