One painful thing about visa applications is the input and time devoted. Look at his presentation, yet, they give him some flimsy reasons. There are people who even did not submit this much and got visas. Above all, I want to ask. How much did you pay at vfs for visa fee, what is it in Naira or Euro. Please share. Also, if you are asked to appeal, I want you to do something.
Just make it known that, you will love to make it a memorable moment in a lifetime to visit france for your anniversary. Captivate the VO, and do not make it seem like you have ulterior motives. Good afternoon

honestly, I dont understand these guys. I submitted the following for 11 days vacation this easter
1. Fully completed and duly signed application form
2. passport photographs as per visa specifications
3. Original and copy of our international passports
4. Copy of our church marriage certificate
5. Marriage Affidavits of facts
6. Copy of our Children's birth certificates
7. Copy of itinerary for our flight reservation with return from Lagos to Paris (air france)
8. Copy of our hotel reservation in Paris covering the period of stay. (from bookings.com)
9. Copy of our travel medical insurance
10. Copy of our reservation for tours and dinner
11. Copy of PAID ticket(s) for museum and tours (over $250)
12. Copy of my personal day to day 3 months bank account statement GTB - 3million plus
13. Copy of my personal saved up 3 months bank account statement GTB - 7million plus
14. Copy of my wife's 3 months bank account statement ACCESS - 2 million plus
15. Copy of my company registration documents - limited liability
16. Copy of my wife's company registration documents business registration
17. Copy of our three years e-tax clearance certificates
18. Copy of our rent receipts of our business premises (4 different business premises)
19. Pictures of our wedding, family, Last UAE vacation and our business premises
20. Cover letter

I had to pay for these tickets beacuse they are being sold out during the Easter season.

I have landed properties and a house but their titles are power of attorney...none has a C of O....so I did not bother to attach them.
I also did not attach my company bank account.

On my own refusal paper... they wrote that the reason I gave was unreliable and that they are not sure if i will leave the schengen area after the duration (i laughed...)

On my wife's own they wrote that they could not verify the authencity of her supporting documents ( I did not get this at all beacuse all documents submitted are legit and authentic including her well run bank statements...no agents involved) She told them that I will be sponsoring her trip in the cover letter.

I strongly believe that these people have a sterotyped way of making these evaluations that make it difficult for self employed people to get tourist visas.

We are hoping to appeal for the sake of doing it but we are looking to travel to another (yet to be decided) location for the anniversary!
I will need suggestions on where we can go for this holidays... my wife does not want africa. I dont know how easy to get tousrist visa to turkey or thailand.

Omo mehn.....after reading this, i sincerely dont know what to say. Schengen VO's are the most unpredictable set of people and it is very difficult to understand the rationale behind their thinking. All these verifiable documents and they still think you wont come back. I can only imagine the stress and hard work that went into the application.

If you can write to the minister/ Director General or those top officials in charge of temporary residence permit ( all of them) in DHA. They will refer your complaints to them at Abuja and Abuja have no choice than to reply them or still finalize your application. Just put in all neccesary details in your email for easy understanding

God bless you. This is just what i was driving at. You need to know the appropriate unit to complain to , when issues like this arise.

You can write hacc@dha.gov.za , attach all your details including application number.

The Department of Home Affairs controls the activites of the embassies and can substantively be of help.

You also have the options of the other person (Bursttt) or maybe physical appearance at the embassy.

Thanks for your advice but my application was done here in Nigeria and since September the visa decisions are now made by the consular officers in Abuja.My application was submitted at the end of September so my passport is at Abuja not DHA Pretoria .

You came here for advise. We can give you suggestions, but we can not profer solutions.

Be open to receiving them.

I just said, is your modelling agency resident in SA?
If they are, ask they visit the DHA and follow up.


You can get some substantial feedback through that process , that is if they are an SA based modelling agency.

But if they are not, you need to keep following up through the physical platforms, but still , if you feel frustrated, look for an internal person at the embassy to help out.

This is what i know people in your situations do, and they get results. You can visit the other threads, you find people with similar cases and how they were able to follow up the process through the suggestions they got on the platform.

I feel your agency residence in SA can fast track this for you.

It is not going to easy to get it done from Nigeria.

Contact your SA agency to visit DHA in Pretoria.

Just one call will put this right.

Omo, i am just reading all these comments about SA, and i am wondering, how do you guys arrive about somethings.

Let me first comment on the issue of timing for SA e visa . Mind you, i said "e visa".
In recent times, the processing time is usually around 5 - 6 weeks as highlighted above by one of the respondents.

Secondly, on the issue of documents, it is clearly stated on the portal,
You need apply and attach your bank statements that can cover the duration of your stay. The value should equate in rands.
So, what that means is that, look at your budget and your stay period, then determine how much you present as bank statements.

Mind you, do not try to act funny, the process is verified, especially when figures are attached.

Lastly.
During the process of review, you can send a mail to the dha contact center for a follow up. They respond in one way or the other. You may not get a feedback on mail, but they act on applications. I know for a fact. so be careful not to send too many mails, so it does not affect the procedure. You can get disapproved for that.


I advise that you use a longer date when applying because of the processing time. There are no emergencies for SA. Apply 1/2 months ahead in most cases.

The issue of documents, Please revert to the website as they are clearly stated there. You must also merge all your documents in one pdf to allow your review process seamless. Do not upload scattered documents.


So, going by all that is written, if you have done the right thing, BE SURE OF AN APPROVAL. Its simple.

You applied for a visitor's visa.

To apply for other categories, you have to return and follow the guidelines on the UKVI page.

In addition, Please read and understand the various categories.

Then, you will know the best platform for your next trip.

You are mixing things up (student/ temporary workers visa/ visa sponsorship jobs) The conditions and requirements for these categories are not same as your ongoing visa.

- Evidence that you are in school

- Travel itinerary

- Travel insurance

- Family status: marriage cert, kids birth cert, family photos

- Sponsor: Add documents from your sponsor in case anyone is sponsoring you.

- Travel history: add your previous visas

- Others: other documents you think will help your application.

Unless you will be staying with someone, I don’t think the one month vacation will fly because of the cost.

Because this comes up alot, in a case where both account are sufficiently run. Cant the personal account just fly. Also, in submitting personal, mind you, the recipent tenders her company documents?

When I travelled to SA with the e visa in June 2022, I was delayed for almost 1hr cos the immigration told me they don't know about the evisa.I was part of the first batch that used it. They invited one of their tech guys who attended to me and also thought them how to handle it..

I was stamped in for the entire duration of my visa.

I don't know of other airport but e visa is accepted at OR Tambo Airport Johannesburg.

I will just generally advice you have all the documents handy. The only questions immigration officers asked at the poe is "Where are you going to?" But I don't really know about for those visiting. I remember vividly that there were having issues with their system, so it was only one officer attending to e-visa. My generally advice, just print the hotel booking.

Not really, as at the last time I travelled in, which was January 19. There was no separate queue for e-visa.

My brother. so i referred them as solicitors. Truth , you can not convey the message better than the concerned. They should ask their siblings/spouses/relatives/ etc to join Nairaland, and ask themselves. In less than 10 mins, you can have an NL account. LOL, bro whats good with you?

What you have raised is a very important issue. Information is key when traveling, if there is anyone here that has flown to SA recently via Johannesburg, OR TAMBO, they should openly tell us if there was a seperate queue for evisa passengers. Please give us an insight. I will be waiting to hear from someone

I have read one or two online reviews by individuals who flew to cape town or Durban with eVisa but the immigration officials could not attend to them because they lacked scanners to read eVisa. One was deported the other was granted access after 4hrs delay. Note that the reviews were last year 2022. I appreciate the reviews but I can't find any publication by SA authorities stating that eVisa holders must enter SA via OR Tambo airport Johannesburg. For example, Turkey published theirs so I know the airline and airport to use to enter Turkey with eVisa. I just need reliable feedback, experience or guidance anybody.

Checkout Isando Airport Inn. It's very close to the airport and you'd get there with an Uber or Bolt of about 80-120 Rands.
It's at Isando which is close to Kempton part and Edenvale when you want to move for permanent accomodations in Jborg.

Yellow card, Covid vaccination if you have that, PTA (Available fund Nigeria authorities like to ask for that), Proof of hotel booking or letter confirming the address of who you staying with, Passport and visa and that should be it. Accommodation will depend on the area you plan to stay. If you mention an area then I can give you a suggestion.
