I beleive you learn self defence that's it |
I've got a SanDisk 1gb Curser Titanium, extremely good stick. I wrote a review about it, not too long ago. http://hive.net/Member/forums/12178/ShowPost.aspx It's perticularly good because it's got a very strong metal casing on it, which would be good and ideally suited to nigerian conditions (weather etc) |
I'm going to go and see the careers advisor at school and see if I can get some more information about general things in the defence force. I know that the local base (after the first 10 weeks of generic training) has a free gym and stuff like that but I want to know what other perks there are as well :-) |
I haven't seen it but it didn't get great reviews here, I do know that much ![]() One of my friends said that the action was good but the dialog was a bit, lame |
I'm considering signing up with the Australian defence force when I finish high school at the end of this year, what do you guy's reckon of this position http://www.defencejobs.gov.au/default.asp?p=48&j=92&OverrideSubSectionID=12 Pay is AUD$25,000 per year (around N2500000) during training (living on base) and after training (42 weeks I beleive) AUD$48,000 per year (N4800000) with a four year commitment. So what do you guy's think of that job? |
I know that there are a few others on the site that also have CCNA (i got mine a while back) so you can get some assistence (so long as it's not just like whats all the answers to the exam ) |
One thing that's very common among IT job seekers i've found is that the certificate is the real "foot in the door" kind of thing. So without it you're not even considered (reasoning being if your really as good as you say you are why haven't you gone and done the certificate) |
Afeni:That sounds a lot like dictatorship to me. |
I'm yet to understand how these attacks are suppose to gain any sympathy, these people attacking are nothing more than terrorist scum. Why do other people's families have to come home to find that there brothers, husbands, fathers have been killed while trying to provide an honest living for the family. The Korean's were trying to provide a better lifestyle for there families as well, they're not the ones to blame for the local's not getting what they want, so why do they have to put there families through it? |
I must remember to send a letter to our parliment saying that our decmocracy is a failure because almost none of our leaders have a military background. I mean it's a bit of a bias information source when a general comes along and says only a military man should be president. |
@love44 Prove to me that one racial group is worse than another, I need scientific evidence how they are "lesser" or if I ever meet you should I be saying heil hitler. |
the car is back all repaired and good as new :-) I'll take some pictures again when I can be bothered ![]() |
I'm not entirely sure of the details of a visitor's visa to the UK but you could find yourself deported if you are caught, visitor visa's usually have a claus in them saying that you won't work. |
uh you can't just come and see kangaroo's unless you either go to a) the outback or b) the more popular choice, the zoo |
Melbourne, Australia :-) Easily the best city in Australia and one of the best in the world (if not the best ) |
It may be worth mentioning that I actually bought a bottle of coke (plastic) from the airport in lagos and it was cheaper than I pay in shops here (so at least the vendor's in the airport haven't learnt how to rip people totally off (unlike our airports)) |
LoverBwoy:It's probably not too often they have a white red-headed australian teenager coming through ![]() |
I've had none of those problems at lagos airport, the people there were quite helpful and quick and no money changed hands (there probably releaved because it was a straight forward job, so less work ) As for departures Lagos airport is a real mess before you go through immigration but once you are through it's fine ![]() |
Car I will probably never be able to afford: Aston Martin V8 Vantage https://img.drive.com.au/drive_images/Editorial/2005/09/14/14aston_leadimage.jpg Car that I probably will be able to afford (eventually) Holden Special Vechicles Clubsport https://us1.webpublications.com.au/static/images/articles/i17/1796_3mg.jpg |
As far as I know Singapore Airlines receive there planes first and will be using them LHR (London Heathrow) to SIN (Singapore Changi) to SYD (Sydney) or MEL (Melbourne) Qantas will be receiving them about a month later and will use them on MEL to LAX (Los Angleas) and SYD to LAX then finally go head to head with Singapore Airlines when they fly to LHR from Australia :-) Can't wait! All major australian airports are already upgraded :-) My local airport even has a fairly decent webpage from when the a380 visited http://www.melair.com.au/airbus/index.asp Btw those cabin shots are just mock-up interiors, none of the actual interiors have been shown yet. |
Seun:That doesn't really work for what I would do, I wouldn't be able to reheat frozen peper soup at school but if it was dehyrdated like most of the asian noodle packs you find I could :-) |
Thoeritically it should be possible, but wether you can do it for cheaper (and better) than a purpose built unit, is somewhat doubtful. |
I have a sony ericsson w800i atm, I like it and my contracts still for another 18 months or so :p |
Orikinla:Uh this had nothing to do with children playing hide and seek, it had to do with people illegally tapping the oil for profit. As I said before the pipes are perfectly safe so long as people don't go poking holes in them. |
one advantage I can see is that you could potentially get a speed and security (limited security) by using a directional arial in your CPE. Also wouldn't you be better to deploy 802.11g, it's cost isn't exactly high and you've got backwards compatability anyway. |
What a terriable waste of life. Apparantly the reason why this has happened before is that when they go to tap into the pipeline they use an electrical drill. The heat generated (because of high rpm) from the drill bit ignites the fuel Orikinla:Pipelines are usually pretty safe, it's only when the structal integrity gets comprimised that there becomes a problem. |
Who cares what other religion other people are? That's there buisness and there buisness alone. |
Men are killed in PH everday. Do I lie? But it is news b/c the man is an "AMERICAN"?So? Does this man's life mean any less because he was American? Would you say the same thing if say a Nigerian was killed in Bagdhad because there is always people dying there? CNN is a fine source of sensationalist writing, so of course it's going to say bad things about where the story happened. There not going to say "man murdered in port harcourt but it's a nice 33c for swimming at the beach" they talk about how unsafe it is etc. Even if you read CNN reports on America you'll find they say similar stuff about there own country. It's what sells news |
By the same token though Deb, sweeping it under the rug isn't really going to help either. You have to recognize the problems before you can fix it. Though Afeni, segregation based on religion seems a bit backwards, |
with a decent ariel I don't think you could make your own CPE for cheaper |
In response to the recent outbreak's the Australian Department of Foreign affair's has issued a "Do Not Travel" advisory to River's state and surrounding regions. See here http://www.smartraveller.gov.au/zw-cgi/view/Advice/Nigeria This places river state next to afganistan and iraq ![]() |

But it is a price worth paying.
