cheruv:so when all the igbos ran away, did that stop Yorubas from getting the presidency for 2 terms? And they waited for just 5 years b4 installing another vice president and of course another Yoruba man is just about to get the senate president seat. Isnt that better than losing millions of your own people in a stupid war and never to taste the presidency again? |
All i want is that the office of the first lady or whatever puerile appendage that is attached to it be totally scrapped....let the wife of the president take care of her husband's domestic affairs.....Shikena. |
BlackTechnology:Obj did not use any jet b4 levelling Odi....those millitants were no where to be found then... they couldnt even defend a village, they all ran away. Obj decided to soft pedal because he didnt want to repeat the Odi massacre. In any case all their noise did not hinder Nigeria's prosperity during Obj's tenure. Heck he made so much money he could even afford to pay up Nigeria's debt and left huge amount of dollars in reserves. |
FreeGlobe:Learn some manners kid. |
FreeGlobe:Goodluck did better than Obasanjo? this lie deserve a place in the guiness book of records. |
eCollynzo:This myth about millitants bringing Nigeria's economy to its knees during Obasanjo's regime has been allowed to stay too long..... the truth is during Objs time the economy was growing at about 7% annually, we paid off the debts of about $18Bn, and we had very robust foreign reserves and money saved up in excess crude account. so how did the millitants bring the economy to its knees? yes they disturbed the flow of oil from the offshore oil wells, the nation simply moved onshore, Nigeria was losing about 200,000 barrels of oil during Obasanjos time it has since increased to 400,000 barels under Goodluck. So tell me how exactly did the millitants bring the economy to its knees during Obasanjo's tenure. |
A radio station was largely responsible for the unfortunate Rwandan genocide.....however this radio Biafra cannot cause such havoc, how many non indigenes are in the east compared to easterners in other regions? They are only trying to embark on a journey of self destruction. |
crixtex:His tenure came to an end and Yar adua did not renew it, prefering Sanusi Lamido instead. |
crixtex:Obj did not kick him out Yar adua did |
laplace12:Ants can build the most beautiful hills but they are still parasites because the land on which they are building does not belong to them. |
[quote author=SmartChoices post=32259558]PDP dug its grave in Lagos by giving tickets to iboes who unfortunately won rep positions! It was a political miscalculation.... You're going to see a reinvigorated APC on the 11th of April. Even yours truly will be in Lagos for that purpose! Never again will the Afonja story be allowed to repeat itself in Yoruba land! I dont see anything wrong with non indigenes presenting representatives in Lagos especially in areas where they are in the clear majority. |
You know one reason a Yoruba man will not flinch over all these threats? He knows you cant do him a thing. He controls your industrial and commercial base anf your major port. He sees people from your region everyday in his region hustling hard to survive and he knows instinctively that you can do anything but grumble and issue empty threats. May be if you go beyond chest beating and develop your regions to make it more viable.....just may be you will be considered relevant |
A lot of credit must go to Amaechi for Buhari's success, as the DG of the campaign organisation his strategic and organisational acumen were world class. |
The south west once again proved to have evolved beyond primordial tribal and religious sentiments.... the result of the last presidential elections proved that. no party won with a wide margin in any south western state. Osinbajo even lost in all the LGAs dominated by his own Ijebu people i call that sophistication |
jingh:I was not banned o... i was only observing. have never for a second doubted the inevitability of change. |
Shes really a virgin.....just like my grandma |
fallout87:How many people have sent in their report from the north so far? |
Omoni please leave mama peace husband alone ooo... biko. |
If Abia indigenes do not vote for Otti in the coming elections, then i take it that they have signed a pact with suffering and poverty. |
I stopped reading OPs write up, when i got to the point where he wrote that Jonathan is knowledgeable...... the same Jonathan that does not know the difference between stealing and corruption? the same man who said at several fora that he doesnt know because he is not a journalist? please if u must campaign for Jonathan remove the knowledge part . |
Ogun state has more industries than all the other states combined. You determine the level of development by the viability of the state and not by fanciful buildings. A state like Akwa Ibom cannot even provide viable means of livelihood for half of its indigenes most of them are in Lagos/Ogun eking out a living. |
in addition Obj commisioned 11 power plants, by the way one of them was recommisioned by GEJ few weeks ago. The railways, 2nd Niger bridge and privatization of PHCN were all conceptualized by OBJ. He also left huge reserves and saved some money in the excess crude account. All his successor needed to do was to continue his programmes using the money he saved.... the rest as they say is history. |
Nice observation.... but history shows that these set of people are 100 times more likely to come out to vote and defend their votes than the educated elites. |
Does anybody still watch AIT these days? Just wondering. |
Interested. |
CyberTerrorist:when Obj took over in 1999 oil price was $9 with huge debts and an almost empty treasury so there was no money to finance such projects, it was when oil price picked up and our debts were renegotiated and paid off coupled with the frequent air crashes being experienced that the Obj govt decided to award the rail contract. |
With this your analysis, you have just given the election to APC. How can you give 90% of Northwest( the most populated region) and 55% of southwest (second most populated) and 70% of North East (Third most populated)votes to APC and still expect PDP to win? |
korel9:Ashawo ![]() |
hahahahahhah Laff wan tear my belle. Oya continue with your meeting and when you re through issue your useless ultimatum then go home and sleep. Every region has something they can use to hold the nation to ransome with except one.... the only thing they are known to be capable of is useless ultimatums. |
