You have done a lot already! Thats great. Yeah, networking comes in handy even if you don't have to do most parts of it, but an understanding of routing, switching, subnetting etc comes in handy and a refresher course could help.
The reason is that most times, the organization already have architectural diagrams you need to reference and it will appear like Greek to someone that doesn't understand networking concepts.
Since you already have Security+, adding Network+ or CCNA to it shows your understanding of Networking, and its not really difficult to refresh since you have some existing knowledge. Your understanding of on-prem networking can easily contribute to your understanding of cloud networking, so I'd add that to my skillets too if I were you.

Cheers
Thanks!

Got Ccna about 5 years ago and totally abandoned it cheesy

Security + will come after i finish the AWS track

Can i get Cybersecurity jobs remotely from Nigeria? Any idea?

We can discuss here bro. How long have you been considering Cybersec and what area are you interested in. Cybersec itself is very broad and you need to know where you passion lies, EndPoint Security, Application Security, Network Security, Cloud Security etc, you just have to choose one or two areas and have faint knowledge of other areas.
For me, I majored in Network Security and Cloud Security. For Network Security, you have to have a decent knowledge of Cisco Networking - Routing and Switching , and decent understanding of major IDS/IPS and Firewalls like Check Point, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA / Firepower. For Cloud Security, you can easily pick up udemy courses on AWS Networking Security or Azure Networking and Security.

Like I mentioned, the areas of cybersecurity are many, so what works for one person may be boring to another.

Sorry I had to turn down the request for PM. I prefer we all learn from.one another here. Plus, I've been burnt in the past by others via PMs.
Cheers.
Thanks

I understand not wanting PMs.

Currently working with Azure (Gotten all the certs I need in Azure / M365) and i have booked my first AWS cert for end of this month. Looking to write up to AWS Security and then move on to S+/CysA+ and then CISSP

Majorly looking at Cloud Security / SoC Analysis and with a bit of experience, Enterprise Governance

You did mention networking and it looks like something I can't run from.. Cos i started from there but i have forgotten most stuff

Might take a refresher courses and then take it from there

Is it possible to get remote cybersecurity jobs from Nigeria?

I dont know how working remote from Nigeria really works. I guess most into it are freelancers. But I've been working remotely for over 6 years now and never had any reasons to go to any office.

Sometimes, while I'm in Nigeria I can still work remotely for the parent US firms I work for, and many folks I know here in the IT line are currently working from Nigeria and still get paid in USD. What's the point asking techy guys to come to the office? Thats outdated in this clime, especially with covid fright everywhere.

I think it all starts with choosing a niche within the IT space, for me. I focused on Cybersecurity. Mastered as many areas as I could and got certifications upon certifications added to my bachelor's and master's degrees and let my resume do the talking. It will work same way for anyone, just differentiate yourself from the rest.

You'll be surprised with how many calls for jobs you will get from all around the world and pick which ones u want to mess with. Some firms are even in dire needs of the strengths and smartness in most of us Nigerians and won't even mind relocating you and your family closer to them, as long as you've proven your worth to them.

I dont know if it depends on the companies you have worked for in the past though. For me, all my experiences are for US based firms, none at all in Nigeria. But if you can manage to get yourself into some of the major consulting firms with presence around the globe, like Delloitte, KPMG, E&Y, Accenture, Infosys etc, you're good. Thats how I started my consulting career and later decided to contract for firms than working directly for them as a FTE.

Even in cases where your physical presence is needed, these firms will be responsible to get you there, wherever it is in the world. Got tired of that.I prefer those that are entirely remote since I contract now and have decided to cut down on travels.

So, around IT, you can't be wrong with areas like Cybersecurity, Business Intelligence, Data Analysis, Machine learning, Software Engineering /Design, Cloud Computing/Networking/Security etc. There's a huge array of lines for those in other IT areas like programming,, web designs, digital marketing etc.. im just talking about the areas Im familiar with.

Dont jump around, just stick with one area and carve a career around it. Its a common mistake for many to want to include as many unrelated skills on their resume, its wrong. Your resume should tell your audience a story about you, not get them confused about who you really are. Don't let them feel you were a farmer last year, a plumber last month and a tailor today. Choose where ur strengths are and focus on improving on it, highlight your strengths on your resume, then make your resume your tool. One of these areas can keep you employed from your home right there in Nigeria with firms from around the world.

My 2 cents. Goodluck all.
Bro, can I send a PM? Your exact area is what im looking into - Cybersec

1. What skill got you your remote job? Office 365 support
2. Where did you find the remote job? Upwork

3. What is your pay range? 25k-35k $ per annum
4. What is the experience like working a foreign remote job? Nice but sometimes if you have strong 9ja accent it could be a problem grin
Bro, been trying to get one for some time

Can you help?

Lol... the popularity of "Nigerian scam" is just classic stereotype fueled by racism. Nigeria makes up a very tiny percentage of the scamming "market". It's very unsophisticated too. While all what most "serious" Nigerian scammers do, is trying to deceive the next dumb gullible person, high school kids in the US are busy hacking twitter accounts of tech CEO just for "fun". Who can beat that?!!!

Abeg forget... In this scamming business, the west is till king, followed by China, then the rest of Asia, before we can now look at Africa/Nigeria.
Black Americans used to teach tutorials for Tax refund fraud to others in their basement

Some of them were busted some years ago

Our own is to blow up scams we didn't start

There was a gift card scam invented by one drug addict guy on Quora, very sophisticated stuff

Give me the link where you read that 419 originated from Germany in 1922
First was scamming via pen pal
Then..

The box of money scam started money washing

It was originally called the Spanish Con/ Spanish prisoner scam... And it's on Wikipedia

Nigerians just made different variations of it

For those who had multiple admissions, after making your firm choice, what do you tell the rejected schools? Do you send them a mail that you are no longer interested in their offer?. Looking forward to your response please.
Some will call and ask if you're taking the offer

If you say No, they'll ask why and what you'd like

Then they'll send an email acknowledging your rejection

Nothing major

They don’t send email to ask why you rejected the offer. At least they didn’t send it to me.

I rejected three conditional offers because they asked for IELTS. I can’t spend years in school getting BSc and MSc to be writing IELTS for second masters.

Also, the school I opted for had a better tuition payment plan.
You could have used a letter from your Uni stating that you studied for 4 years in English
