Are you sure there are real forests in the north? Some of kind of hardy trees maybe, but deciduous and coniferous trees? I am not really sure of that, though I will find out more about it. I also think that the sudden increase in their temperatures tend to trigger these wildfires (remember that wildfire phenomenon is not the only thing they battle with that we don't have over here).

He had two choices as governor, take more crazy loans that the state can’t payback in the next 100 years or cut down on government projects and prioritize payment of salaries, repayment of loan and execution of only emergency projects. He choose the second option and got punished for it.

People, including political contractors simply wanted huge contracts to be awarded everywhere without caring about where the money would come from. They wanted a governor who would come to Osogbo round about and stand on the roof of his car and share money. Oyetola refused all these and they hated him.

I sincerely wish Ademola Adeleke well but I’m eagerly waiting to see what he will do differently considering the huge debt portfolio of the state.

That was why I was surprised that he was really struggling to be the governor then, even when it was obvious that he wasn't loved, both by his fellow party members and lots of people in the state. I was also surprised that he kept shouting continuity as his slogan then, when he knew that there was nothing to continue. After all, he was in Aregbesola's cabinet and wasn't oblivious to the state of things. A sane man should definitely run away from such responsibilities but only God knows what he saw.

I stepped out of the mini bus, and by this time it was already becoming a scene. Folks thought I was guilty of something nobody wanted to help. Their voices drowned mine their hands were all over me.

I just thought within my self that I wasn't gonna be used for suya by irresponsible and degenerates whose lives and future had been harzaded and wrecked. Heck these guys were gone past redemption. I doubt their mothers would weep over their dead bodies. I'm pretty sure their mothers had laid curses on them, regretted not aborting them. Their fathers drunk and useless, old beggars. The rider got more frightened and increased his speed. When we had gone a safe distance, he asked me what happened and I told him. He asked me to check if anything was missing. Gladly only a hundred naira was missing.


This was around 4pm. I told babe to go home that I was gonna see her later. Went to my hood and shared the story with one street og.
