This junta is living on borrowed time, and all this unnecessary bravado will not save them. They should listen to what president Tinubu said about how he is the one holding back some unnamed outside powers probably (France and the US) and other Ecowas countries who are ready to go in today to boot them out, and they are all getting impatient with the stupid junta.
Listen to which Tinubu? You better advise him to face the mess he creates here. War will not make him legitimate and the North will never approve of war with Niger
Travel › Re: Death Of A Dream : The Crash Of Air France Concorde Flight 4590 by Iamzik: 9:52pm On Aug 25, 2023
Racoon:
I still remember this disaster. I was in the University then. It was a news the world watched in horror. It is understandable that air disasters are always catastrophic and fatal.

What a terrible end for the doomed passengers watching themselves helplessly to their own deaths because of pilots errors. Worst is the pilot should have listened to his first Officer and abort the takeoff.

A Concorde that never had any fatality over 20 years of its beautiful existence suddenly had one! And that kill the future prospect & advancement of aviation science in that line. What a sad end for the Concorde.

Abeg let the indomie generation here learn history and the future pilots to be learn a thing or two so that lives will be preserved.
The concorde story is often stretched to look like the plane just caught fire on its own.

If that piece of metal was not left on the runway, hat flight would have landed safely at its destination. You gotta give it to these engineers. Concorde did not crash due to fault in engineering design. What happened to it could happen to any normal plane at the time

First time seeing a woman paying child support.

Do you think this is fair?
Why do you think a woman cannot pay child support.

We need to fight patriarchy to stand still. Men should start taking legal actions to make women pay. This is not 1900 but most countries law are stuck in stone age.

Equality has implications and this is one of it

FOJEM:
In most cases, marriages become toxic because of the hidden characters of the wives, discovered after the wedding.
A lady might behave like an Angel during courtship, only to turn into a hardcore feminist after the wedding. This type of marriage can only work if the husband is a simp.

Don't be fooled. Nothing is outdated about the refineries. The problem is sabotage. They deliberately cause problem to get allocation for repairs

The same will befall the modular refineries operated by government.

Abi, who will operate the state modular built by Government? If not government workers.

For your information, individuals and investors have been licensed to build modular refineries.
Well. I kinda agree with you that sabotage is also responsible for the comatose state of refineries. I just wonder why the president will not bring down the sledge hammer hard on those at the helm of affairs in those refineries. It's sad that we have to buy fuel so expensive in a country with crude oil and 4 refineries

Building another refinery is another avenue to syphon money. It doesn't make sense.
Modular (small) refineries in each geopolitical zone is easier to manage.

The old ones are too outdated and have not produced despite several turnaround maintenance and staff salaries costing billions.

Would you rather continue spending on a liability?

Foreign Affairs › Re: Niger Military To Prosecute Mohamed Bazoum For ‘High Treason’ As Sanctions Bite by Iamzik: 5:20pm On Aug 14, 2023
Throwback:
It is typical for every military coup to come up with reasons why the coup was needed.

That itself is to show that they know they have committed treason against the constitution of the country.

Like Idi-Amin of Uganda, they come in with celebrations by the ignorant citizens who soon become the victims of dictatorship, by the time the citizens realise and try to run out of the country, it is always already too late.

In this current case of Niger, it is the coupist that will attempt to run out of Niger, which is already too late.

The President would resume his tenure in the next few weeks, and the coupists would all be prosecuted for treason.
Lol dream on!😂😂

Politics › Re: 62% Of Nigerians See Country Moving Forward Under Tinubu - CMC Survey by Iamzik: 8:01am On Aug 14, 2023
Jbleenk:
The steps Tinubu is taking is what any sensible person who knows his onions would take in light of situation we find ourselves in Nigeria.

A country who spend 90% of her revenue to service debt can’t continue servicing electricity, fuel, fx etc else it will implode.
Who drag the nation into this debt servicing?
Nigeria debt was 6 billion USD when APC took over. It is 43billion today.

Nigeria foreign exchange reserve was over 34billion in 2015. APC depleted the foreign reserves and even pledged our foreign reserve to JP Morgan to collect a 20billion dollar loan which is unaccounted for.

All of you APC supporters should be ashamed. Everything you accused PDP of doing you have done worse. Is this the country you want to leave for your children?
Politics › Re: Forex Crisis: Marketers Propose ₦‎720/Litre, Suspend Fuel Imports by Iamzik: 7:46am On Aug 14, 2023
nairalanda1:
Because for many years, under the guise of subsidy, we were selling fuel at a loss, and paying a subsidy to cover the loss...which it could never do adequately. That led to the refineries running down, and then we became an importer.

We could have gotten the refineries up and running again by removing subsides and privatising NNPC, cutting it off from free government money and forcing it to work for its money.....like a legit company.

But Nigerians kept saying no to subsidy removal, encouraged by people like Tinubu who is in power now. And right now, we are in so much of debt that we cannot pay for subsidies anymore. Not without going into even larger debt. Not without running out of money in the next 5 years.

It is either we pay the market price of fuel from our pockets, or we pay for it at IMF rate in a few years, at IMF conditions.

You don't have to like it. I don't. But for me it is either we suffer a lot now, or we get ten to twenty times what we suffer now in a few years...where the bank would be telling you you cannot withdraw money because there is no money.
You people should stop this narrative please

How many litres of fuel does Nigeria consume in a day? Even the nnpc does not know.

The same nnpc in cahoots with marketers inflated the subsidy claims and diverted more than half of subsidized PMS to neighboring countries.

What we consume in Nigeria is well within government means to subsidize. I wonder why nobody in nnpc has been arrested for the diversions instead of cancelling the subsidy regime.

For your information subsidy is not evil as APC is and their supporters are trying to paint it. Every sensible nation on earth have subsidy Regims for their citizens. For some it's education or social security benefit. Even US subsidizes fuel anytime it gets above a particular price by opening their oil reserves or increasing local production.

This policy just like the exchange rate policy has failed but Tinubu and his minions are too proud to admit it. I thank God that there is no sesperate market or filling station for APC supporters

Na Una go feel am pass sef
Politics › Re: Niger: You’re A Novice In International Diplomacy – Lamido To President Tinubu by Iamzik: 3:33am On Aug 14, 2023
Okoroawusa:
What exactly is Lamido saying? ECOWAS should leave the coupists in Niger because they are your brothers?

So if tomorrow some Hausa soldiers overthrow a democratically elected president in Nigeria, Niger should not contribute to ECOWAS troops because the coupists are their brothers?

I am not getting these Northern elites. If Buhari was the president would they react like this?
If there is coup in Nigeria today (we earnestly hope not) I assure you that no African country or ECOWAS will give ultimatum or threat of war.

Diplomacy is the surest and best way to resolve power tussle. War is a no no

Cheap propaganda

The same inflow is being diverted to black market and the gap between official rate and black market keep getting wider. So what's the point?

This whole policy of floating naira and removing subsidy at the same time is I'll advised and is doing great harm to the country
Politics › Re: Uba Sani Rejects El-rufai’s Ministerial Candidate Tells Tinubu To Expect Another by Iamzik: 3:11am On Aug 13, 2023
Zandena:
I will honestly advise the president not to pick any candidate submitted by both El-Rufai and uba sani. The president has the identities of those who help his victory from Kaduna such as Barr. Abdullahi Mukhtar Mohammed, the immediate past chairman of Hajj commission or Hon. Zailani who is the immediate former speaker of Kaduna House of Assembly.
These two are bridge builders and are acceptable to every section of the state.
This mentality of compensation by appointment is why we don't progress

Must ministerial appointment go to political loyalists?

Sentiments apart, ECOWAS have a new treaty signed also by Niger Republic to ensure no country is allowed to be distabilised by anti-democractic elements. The standing force ECOMOG was therefore not disbanded and can be used at any time.
Should any Soldier in his right senses think he knows better- let him join a political party, contest, win then bring about the change he thinks his society deserve..
Soldiers are to protect not to govern...
So whether u like it or not... Niger should be invaded and the Junta made to dance to the song they sing.
Peace be unto u
Is that why African presidents keep supporting each other to rig elections and extend tenure?
Why didn't they invade other African countries that had coup recently?

This is pure hypocrisy and until African leaders come clean, coup will continue.

To the presidents serve your people, stop being corrupt and stop enacting anti people policies just to please the west
