22 is very young for a keeper. Most keepers don't start breaking through till 26/27. They usually have to ride bench for years waiting for one sit-tight club legend to retire.

Even if they're not good enough, is better to keep all those Blackman, Beeney as 3rd choice and fill an English quota than to go signing Hilario, Eduardo, Amelia who you cannot trust if the top 2 keepers get injured anyway.

Courtois was worse than Begovic last season. Every shot he faced went in and almost every game he played, he made a mistake that caused a goal.

Last season was nothing to do with the goalkeepers. It was a general team collapse and due to structural weakness.

Begovic at Stoke was a top 3 goalkeeper every season.
