nateevs: You are making an excuse Lamps for pausing to stay on a man "without the ball" whilst exonorating him for not closing down the man "with the ball". What's even funny is that you ask me to blame Ivanovic - a player whose tactical position after a cross into the box is to be in the box to avert any aerial attack - all in the aim to shift blame.
You talk a load of nonsense. The chance of QPR scoring from those two unmarked men with an easy pass from SWP if Lamps over commits is much greater than the chances of SWP getting his shot in from that distance. That's why Lamps paused to think about it instead of rushing straight out. Imagine someone telling me Ivanovic is not detailed to rush out. Is he the only one marking in the box? Are others not marking just like him including Lamps himself. The same way Ivanovic did not rush out is the same way Lamps paused to consider the man he was marking, everyone expecting of course that Mata whose job it is to block shots on the edge of the dee will cover his zone. . . so stop ranting nonsense.

Lamps has the highest rating on any website you wish to check for yesterday's game, so take off your rose-tinted glasses. You are obviously the only person who credited the goal to Lamps, not the hundreds of journalists who watched the match.

nateevs: I'm sorry mate. The reason we conceded that amount of goals was solely because of RDM.
Can you imagine this same eediot who said RDM was too defensive and needs to "take off Lamps for Ramires to allow MaZaCar to play and solidify the midfield" now shytting on his very suggestion?

When you were blaming Lamps, you never claimed it was RDM's fault, you claimed it was Lamps.

Benitez has tightened up? Yes, and returning less points. I really like the way he tightened up against West Ham. Uuh. . . guess who was in midfield then (under the tight Benitez). . . Mikel and Ramires.

BTW, how come the first thing the "tightener" Benitez did was to drop Mikel? If you reckon he knows whats best defensively, then you best trust his judgement on Mikel who he tossed aside like a used rag for a young Spanish rookie and even an untested centreback. If those actions dont tell you he considers your beloved Mikel an utter defensive liability, I dont know what will. . . yet you are still here screaming Lampard.

Mugun, you change your mind from week to week. Please tell us about your fad from two weeks ago. . .

What happened to the vertical passes?

Did they teach Torres how to trap ball?

Have you changed your mind on that. . . or gone quiet as usual when your harebrained chat gets exposed on weekly basis.

That didn't last long, did it?

Mugun using corner kick to blame Lamps, meanwhile no word on the ONLY REASON we lost the game. . . .SHEKPE CANCER!

GTFOH!

Win an argument you lost already? You made this argument in September.

This is no time to rehash your foolish theories. You theorised about how Ramires woulda closed midfield down, would use his speed to plug gaps and such and such. . . that was 4 months ago. . . .we have 4 months of EVIDENCE to show that your theories were a MONUMENTAL FAILURE!!

24 goals conceded in 12 games and 4 wins in 4 months for Mikel/Ramires partnership and knocked out of UCL. Im just humouring your foolish rehashing of old and FAILED arguments.

nateevs: I don't suppose u saw their goal did u? Even if u did 't, u would have seen the replay.
This is the point El Guapo was trying to make.
Had Ramires been playing, he would have closed the space SWP needed to aim at goal.

But I don't expect you to see that. There are more intricate things to a game of footballthan blaming Torres.
When Rafa needed a goal, he took Lamps off. You think he isn't aware that Lamps is a threat?

For 60mins, we didn't play jack. We suddenly looked like scoring after Hazard and Mata came on.

However, you ignore important things like this and attribute percentage success on the pitch to the input of one man.
Pure crap!!!

Lampard paused when coming out because he had two men on his left-hand side unmarked. I wonder why you never claimed Ivanovic didnt run out at speed and stopped his run. I wonder why you never claimed Mata shoulda been quicker to close Taraabt. Its just one of those things sometimes. . .

You will always find a forking reason to blame Lamps. Now the reason is Ramires shoulda played is that he runs out for corners? I guess thats a skill he uses 100 times a match, never mind his poor passing and non-existent midfield skills. Nonsense!!!

The obvious reason we lost this game (besides your much touted Marin's poor performance) was because YOUR GAY LOVER is a horrendous footballer who gets bullied by Ryan Nelsen, cannot finish or do anything useful upfront. You are a forking disgrace defending that wastepipe on here.

Lemme help you with the most important thing you omitted in your earlier post:

nateevs: Absolutely unbelievable. With Arsenal V City and Spurs V Utd coming up, Rafa should have known that closing up the gap was more important. Luiz Ramires in Defensive Midfield. Mata, Hazard, Oscar upfront, Demba Ba

nateevs: I suppose we won't be seeing any stats of wins per player played today. Rubbish!
You are a bloody gay.

Did we concede because Lamps did not sit back?

We lost this game because of your gay lover waiting for vertical passes against a team that parked the bus, missing chances and being rubbish as usual. Infact, Lamps had to teach him how to finish albeit offside whilst shekpe keeper did what he does best. . . being useless and a Cancer.

Where's that stats again:

Marin is not needed in the team. Piazon offers more.

Torres should be taken out and shot.

Oscar good player but doesn't make the right runs.

Luiz midfield experiment. . . still an experiment. . . that's running out of time.

But the main reason we lost today is the Spanish homosexual striker who is absolutely useless when opponents sit deep plus he bloody fluffed his line once again when he got his chance. Has Demba Ba signed yet?

debosky: Please provide the games won with/without Lampard stats. Along with goals conceded. Was Lampard absent when Chelski was hammered 5-3 at SB?
What a very foolish analogy.

If you bothered to check, Lampard was not one of two defensive midfielders in that game, rather he was in the no10 position behind the striker and scored and assisted in that game, and by far Chelsea MOTM. Direct your question to the two deeper lying midfielders (Ramires + Mikel) as to how they conceded 5 goals.

One thing is for sure, you can go back in history and pull up any game (false use of stats), but the record shows Lamps posts consistently good results whilst Mikel/Ramires are consistently poor. What has Chelsea achieved in terms of league consistency since Ramires joined in 2010? The only time we finished 2nd was when he got dropped in Lotti's last season after Chelsea was struggling to qualify for UCL when he ran the midfield. Mikel? pffft. 6 years and cannot convince anyone. Everytime he got dropped, results improved. Hiddink dropped him for Ballack and went on a long unbeaten run, and Lotti dropped him for Ballack in our title-winning season.

Well ya'll keep chatting. One thing is sure, the midfield is Lampards going forward after Mikel and Ramires' massive failure during his absence. Ramires will be sent back to the wing, whilst Mikel would play second fiddle to Luiz if he proves himself.

debosky: ^^

When Chelski finished 6th and lost 10 games last season, how many games did Lampard miss? Or is this new loss-stopping power something that Lamps developed in 2012/13? cheesy

Any phool can twist statistics to show what they want - heck there was a time in 2010/11 that the statistics showed that Arsenal didn't lose games with Johan Djourou on the pitch. We all know that's a load of tripe, just like your attempt to imply that Lampard is the difference between winning and losing games for Chelski.
Lampard missed a heck of a lot of games last season, first being sidelined by AVB, then being rested in the Prem by RDM who put all his chips into Europe.

Previous season, Chelsea was top of the league, Lamps got injured for 4 months. When he returned, we were 4th/5th and his return coincided with us challenging Manure for the title for the last 2 games.

Whether you like it or not, Lamps has performed over the years and Chelsea have won large majority with him. His record is not under question.

Who is under question is Ramires who has never been involved in consiistent number of wins in his Chelsea career. Ancelotti had to drop him in 2010/11 before Chelsea could surge from 4th to 2nd. His period at the club has never coincided with Chelsea being consistent.

Who is under question is also Mikel, whose record is not stellar. Ancelotti had to drop him and play Ballack at DM in 2009/2010 before Chelsea could go on to win the league.

Record is never questioned for Lamps. We have 11 years of records to show that the team does better when he plays.

Meanwhile Mikel and Ramires replacements of likes of Makelele, Essien and Ballack coincide with dowturn in form.

Finito!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 2:19pm On Jan 02, 2013
El Guapo: He deserves a fair Chance in the Pivot cos he Understands the role berra than U and Lampard.
In order to play this position effectively, both of the Central DMs MUST remain behind the ball. When we have possession, they are there to set the tempo of the game and recycle the ball to keep the game ticking over at a fast pace. They need to be making fast and sharp 1 or 2 touch passes, less is definitely more here. The attacking players cannot function properly unless they get the ball quickly, the quicker they receive the ball, the more space they have to work their magic. The defensive midfielders should never be making runs in advance of the ball and should be moving horizontally across the pitch simply creating angles in order to give and receive passes. It is imperative that these two players are always available to receive a pass and recycle the possession.
Everything in bold are reasons why Ramires shouldnt be in midfield.

Ramires recycle possession?

Ramires gives ball quickly to forwards?

Ramires receiving passes under pressure?

You are smoking rocks!!!!

El Guapo: When Frank plays in the defensive midfield position he is
constantly making runs in advance of the ball, he ends up
sitting in between the striker and the central attacking midfielder in search for goals
and his double figure tally. He simply doesn’t have the
discipline for this role.
NONSENSE!!!

Getting forward is done is phases, and only when the ball is switched wide. . . not running forward stupidly with the ball like Ramires used to do in the pivot.

El Guapo: This causes 3 main problems for the
team;

1. There is one less option in the centre of the park for us to
keep the possession, instead of always being available and
helping the team keep the ball, he is actually a hindrance to the
team because he turns the formation into an extremely unbalanced 4-1-3-1-1. He leaves
Mikel on his own which significantly reduces passing
options from the middle as he will only have angles on for half of the passes (either to the right
or to the left).
Nonsense! Ramires was "keeping the possession"? Someone that can't even pass ball or position his body to receive it.

El Guapo: 2. His advanced runs close off all the space that our free role
player has to work with because he will bring a marker
with him. That is 2 more players in the small intricate space that Mata/Hazard have to operate in.
This essentially nullifies our attack.
Nonsense! He only goes forward in phases. Mikel will never be left with more than one central midfielder running at him. But even Papa Ajasco or Uncle JB can run past Mikel in the midfield whilst he "escort" them to the goal.

El Guapo: 3. This leads to the play being broken up and the opposition
going on the counter attack.
Lampard is now so far forward that there is a gaping hole through the middle which Mikel has to attempt to fill and we get
exploited - Shey u watch the Super Cup game against Falcao? grin
Of course, its never Mikel's fault.

Against Atletico, only 3 men (Falcao, Turan and Adrian) were responsible for demolishing 5 men (Mikel + 4 defenders). It is Lamps fault innit that 5 men couldn't contain the three men they are detailed to cover. Were Mario Suarez, or Koke involved in the Atletico goals. So Lampard must sit ontop of Mikel's head to help 5 men contain 3?

Funny how you hang on to Atletico Madrid match as evidence against Lamps like the whole team wasnt treating that match as a friendly. Was Lamps on the pitch in the umpteen games since where your Mikel/Ramires combination was decimated like flies?

Words from Diego Simeone on how he beat Chelsea:

"You can always get past Ivanovic on the right. Cahill and Luiz never take part in building up game, Mikel just plays sideways, so put on a high pressure, put two or three men on Lampard, Hazard and Mata when they got the ball and ignore the rest."

Mikel's uselessness is known by our opponents.

Dont forget how Steve Clarke used the same tactics when he was assistant manager at Liverpool, telling the players just to target Mikel as Chelsea weakpoint.

Mikel has been at Chelsea 6 years now. Which club has ever shown interest in him or even rumoured to be interested? Thats how useless he is as a no4. Nobody wants him! I asssure you, if Chelsea put Mikel on transfer list now, the buying club will be asking Chelsea to help them subsidise Mikel's wages otherwise they wont sign him.

Yet you believe Mikel is faultless for not being able to do a simple task like pick up and track one single central midfielder every now and again.

After typing all the nonsense above, help me explain this:

With Lampard:

10 wins in 11 EPL games

Without Lampard:

1 win in 8 EPL games

With Lampard:

7 goals conceded in 11 EPL games

Without Lampard:

11 goals conceded in 8 EPL games.

All these stats because "Ramires was not making runs in advance of the ball".

Aren't you tired of being made a fool in this argument?

How many kilometres of Road have OBJ and Jonathan constructed since then?

Common 200km from Lagos - Benin, they cant construct.

Yet some fools are crying marginalisation at 4,440.43kms.

This write-up is fallacious for many reasons:

The writer should give us the allocation in £, $ and N, not kilometres.

(1.) Even if you allocate the same road budget to North and South Nigeria, North will build double the length of roads because it is cheaper to build roads in the North due to lack of rainfall.

(2.) Secondly, Northern Nigeria has double the landmass of Southern Nigeria, so more kilometers of roads will be built in the North. One road from Sokoto to Taraba would be three times the length of a road from Cross River to Oyo.

My Lampard's Omission is not borne outta the heated Up arguements on here but Ideally a tactical decision.
Ramires Would need to do enough Covering for 'Experimenting Luiz' and tracking down Tarabat's Runs - Frank at his age wouldn't do all that.

Ya Views cool[/color]
Time to give you some tactical schooling.

It is NEVER a no 8's job to track a no4's man!

This is why you guys Mikel/Ramires theory failed earlier this season.

If your no 4 cannot track Taraabt, then dragging Ramires back to track him is a half-measure that leaves the team disjointed and with no players having direct responsibility for any particular player. The no8 doesnt know whether he should be (a.) supporting the attack, (b.) pressing the opposition midfield or (c.) sitting on top of the defence waiting to track the no4's man. . . simply because the no4 cannot do his job!!!

This is why I can never accept that 'false no4' called John Obi Mikel as my DM. We not only have the falsest of no9's, we have the falsest no4 of any big team!!! None of your attempts to "patch Mikel up" with Ramires, Luiz etc will ever work, because Mikel simply cannot do his primary job!

Who is this Taraabt you fear?

Taraabts movement is subpar for a no 8. In terms of off-the-ball running, he is one of the worst in his position in the Prem, thats why he never scores tap-ins or rebounds, only long range stunners. No midfield need worry unduly about Taraabt. The deadliest no8's that need worrying about are the likes of Dempsey, Fabregas, Mata, Lampard, Marchisio etc that keep running behind you and disrupting your shape. Taraabt does no such thing!!!

The only thing to fear from Taraabt is his dribbling, which is why Luiz as a decent man-to-man dueler can deal with him.

Rather, Mbia and Diakhite should be worrying about dealing with Mata/Oscar and Lampard's movement. . . which they cannot. . . as you could see, they were all at sea failing to track Jordan Henderson last match time and time again.

Finally, Im sorry to say Ramires should never be allowed near Chelsea central midfield EVER again!

You wait to implement the idea in small games or during injury crisis which is exactly the opportunity presented to Benitez. I have always been of the opinion that Mikel is rubbish except sitting deep and Luiz is prolly better. Rather you should be apologising for asking Ramires and later Luiz to replace Lampard when Mikel was always the one who needed replacing. Just not by Ramires.
