Itsrm: They will need less $ defending it at 750 than they needed defending it at 450 last year
Also, with round tripping out of the picture, the demand for the $ will be less. True, but they didn't defend it at N450 except to a select few importers. Naira was at N750 last year to most people who access through aboki |

Incognito9: The subsidizing really worked but it's just how long can it hold, it's dropping now but I don't think it will go below 850. Naira rising for one day is not evidence of it working. It's just sign of Government intervention/speculators on that day. Unless Govt plans and has capacity to intervene everyday, it will find it's square root slowly but surely over time. Nigeria spent over $12bln defending Naira last year so I'm not sure how far $3bln will go |

The vast majority of them experienced bankruptcy due to the German government's decision to impose sanctions on 🇷🇺 Russia. All this fool does is drop unverified lies daily and uneducated ingrates on this thread will be clapping. Germany has had less than 10,000 bankruptcies this year, about 1,400 per month and below historical levels prepandemic

Just keep tabs with Al Hilal, Al Nassr and Al Ittihad and you're good to go.

You and your antisemitic rants will never change the fact that Europe will someday lose its monopoly on football I am responsible for what I write not what you understand. Like I said, I have no familiarity with their football clubs, their players or rivalries, not to mention linguistic challenges in differentiating their names. There is no backstory. I know almost all MLS, Mexican and even most South American clubs so I can relate. I would relate more if Egypt was the one importing these players as I know the Zamaleks, Al Ahlys, Ismailys and co. Nothing to do with antisemitism but familiarity. If I ask you to name 3 players from Saudi team at the last World Cup without google, can you? Have you ever watched Asian Champions League much less care about what's going on there? |

Itzlinda: What do you think is the present cause of naira free fall.
An analyst on radio station said it is the excessive spending of buhari administration financed by cbn and budget deficiency to the tune of 10 trillion. That it has nothing to do with import as our import/export is balanced.
What's your opinion on this Yes to large extent, but other factors dey. He is talking about our balance of payments which is OK right now with oil price increase but our current account also took hits in 2015 to 2016 and 2018 to 2021 with oil slump which eroded our foreign reserves and our capacity to prop up the Naira. So any small gyration now and we are defenceless. I even read somewhere that the foreign reserves is only on paper and that the money doesn't exist, it was used as collateral against foreign loans. Nothing will surprise me again in that country if true. So you have Govt sourcing dollars for external debt servicing which was about N900bln last year. I also don't believe our balance of payments is accurately captured as there is a lot of shadow importing going on outside the view of CBN which is putting pressure on Aboki source of FX. |

I don't know about y'all but nothing will make me watch Saudi league even if they sign all the stars from Europe. I am more likely to watch MLS. Messi made the right move
Football is a full package. I will pick more interest in a Mexican, Paraguayan or American dude playing in MLS than an Al-something playing in Saudi league. If I can't relate to all 11 players, I'm not interested. MLS commentators are well known, they know the league and can tell me about a player who came from Tigres or Penarol playing in MLS league. Saudi league would import some obnoxious English speaking commentator who knows nothing about Bin-Rahman who used to play for Al-Ahli, and mesef can't relate to Al Ahli |

Sulele04: He is not coming good kan kan, he is a shit left-back.
The truth is he ismore of a midfielder than a left-back sef, he is only good when he inverts to help build-up that's all.
He can't overlap so zero attacking value, & he is massively overrated defensively, he is not spectacular in defence walker, awb esq to compensate. There's a possibility that starting him as a LCB in a back 3 dented his confidence Cukuruku was a winger at Getafe that takes people on. This Cukuruku has lost all his mojo, could be a confidence factor |

afrodoc2: Players can't dribble like before. Some players of past decades will dribble shege out of your life in a small circle cos they didn't need that much space to dribble. Now what most players call dribble is simple push and run. The major reason is because all those shege dribbles are coached out of most players these days at a young age. The coaches will rather ask them to pass back and build up from the back again rather than try to find creative individual solutions. The player who dribbles rather than follow tactical instructions will soon find himself on the bench.
I agree about the defensive blocks being an issue these days though and alluded to that in my earlier post. The days of a winger twisting and turning his full back's blood into thick clot are long gone. I strongly disagree. Defenders are no longer mumu. All of them have seen those skills a million times and many of them can do those skills. This is not the days when every team played in a silo and you'll be seeing some skills for the first time when you meet the opposition There are much more dribble types than before and players are all exposed to them. Even on amateur level, there are far more dribbles and dribbling styles than when I was playing actively. The amateurs of these days can twist blood out of some of the pros of those days because those pros won't have seen those skills. Go to any power league or YouTube amateur channel and see what I'm saying |

afrodoc2: A good example is how many games in the earlier Women's World Cups ended 6-3, 7-1, 5-2 etc but now partly due to better tactically prepared teams we are getting lower scorelines. There are creative tactics but a lot of the tactics in football are set up to stop the opposition. Also, the focus on tactics means freelancing flair players are often overlooked for players that can follow the manager's tactics to the letter.
Instead of Maradona collecting the ball and dribbling through a maze of defenders or Michael Laudrupp throwing endless risky through passes from his own half you now have endless passing at the 1st phase until a clear opportunity opens up. Because of tactics you now rarely have fullbacks isolated against wicked wingers like before as their own winger will often drop back to give cover unlike before when your own winger will stay forward lazily leaving you to be tortured by Ryan Giggs or Marc Overmars all game.
A very good team will usually flog a mediocre or bad team but the inferior team can use tactics to reduce the difference in quality. It is far easier to devise tactics to neutralize a team than it is to devise tactics to open up a team. The biggest change from the 80s is two more players in the defensive block (7 as opposed to 5) and each player covers 5km more than those days so space is at a premium. Players can still dribble and even better than before, but the space to dribble no dey again |
