Also I don't see what Atiku has to gain by selecting a powerless man in the South who can't "deliver" a state unlike a Southern Governor who will deliver. Obis underlings even got trounced in Anambra. If you are Atiku, you will be going for a strongman in the South with money and rigging machinery that can deliver you one or more of Delta, AkwaIbom or Rivers and has money to mobilise. Also Southern Governors kicked against him as VP. If Atiku should alienate the Southern Governors by picking Obi, he is creating a big problem for himself. Wike, Udom, Delta and co would not back him and fund him like in 2019 if that were to be the case.

You are right. I first read of Buhari meeting GEJ to whine him to run for APC in January in Saharareporters and it stands to reason that a guy with no delegates will not move somewhere to contest without a powerful hand moving him.

Whatever happens now will be a contest between Buhari and Tinubu I think. And I doubt Buhari has the nous to take Tinubu out, but GEJ must think so to throw his hat in.

Atiku already has the South on his side from last election in a face off with Tinubu and will collect most of the North when Tinubu picks a Christian VP. That's too much rigging.
