User09:Ask Jorginho. It's a shame that Havertz is so lazy, even the escort Jorginho is preferred to him |
Jorginho is obsolete in this game. If his sole selling point is controlling possession, he has no job on this pitch right now |

City-Everton game called off due to Covid infections. Thankfully I have no player from either side. City that had two players infected, I hope they tested well before playing Newcastle couple of days ago sha. Newcastle wey just dey recover from Covid infections |
sod09:You go captain Vardy when Brendan already said he will be rested. Na your wahala. Knowing your luck this season, you will still face someone who captained City players |
iamJ:This is why I said you are a shallow thinker. That report is from CIES which is a FIFA joint venture with a University and comes out every year and is highly respected. At the very least, it is used as a benchmark. Instead of asking who the author of the report is, you are talking about the blog that reported it in keeping with your shallow thinking. How do the comments on the site concern you when you know football comments are mostly trolling and the average Joe Public won't take into account all the factors that make up a player valuation. Go and put Mount in market for €40m, let's see whether Marina won't slap you. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Centre_for_Sports_Studies .

iamJ:Who is the olodo here? I brought that to show you that Mount is highly valued in World football to counter your statements that Mount is a nobody. Na transfer rumours make you put Havertz as great talent. If you put Mount on market, don't be surprised to see the same valuation as Havertz. You were mocking a report stating that a 20 year old Mount will cost more than a 33 year old Messi who has 6 months left on contract. In your village, who is supposed to hold more value between the two? I'm sure you saw Mbappe there as the most expensive player which is of course due to his age advantage over Messi and co. It does not shock me that your brain is unable to process multivariate information, which is why you want to play two second strikers in Chelsea without thinking of the rest of the team. You should stick to single-dimensional arguments if your brain can't cope with holistic thought. Someone will be debating with you, assuming that everyone has the same level of understanding, not knowing some people are amoebas. |
User09:Midfield is not getting bypassed on the left side, only on the right side where the lazy Havertz occupies. |
iamJ:Transfer values are based on age and length of contract. Your response doesn't shock me as you have shown that you are a very shallow thinker. The kind of person that will say Werner should play second striker and also Havertz should also play second striker, all within the same team, meanwhile forgetting hardly any big team plays with second striker and we have better wingers like Pulisic and Ziyech to accomodate over playing a 2 striker formation |
iamJ:Put Mason Mount for transfer and the price will shock you. Na transfer interest make Havertz name dey ring. https://tribuna.com/en/chelsea/news/2020-06-08-cies-football-observatory-mason-mount-more-expensive-than-lionel-messi-as-chelsea-graduat/ |
User09:What opportunity cost? My friend stop talking like a learner. If you are not pressing in modern football, you are not doing anything. What's the opportunity cost between a Wijnaldum and a Coutinho? |
afrodoc2:Na you I quote? Or did FBS move to Australia? |
User09:Same reason Bernardo Silva used to press like Bobby despite not knowing what to do with it, and Pep always played him. Pressing in an attacking team is fundamental in modern football. The player pressing usually doesn't win the ball but the opponent makes mistake and gives it to his teammate. Good percentage of goals in football come from this. |
FBS:Which kain freezing water you dey go jetski inside this winter? |
HitlerGaddafi:On the other hand, Burna Boy is a real gang member who had to flee London after some gang stuff went down. Davido is just a rich boy who likes making noise behind security. I knew Burna Boy will step to him the minute he sees him. Davido will run back behind his security guards and start making noise on Twitter again. |
User09:How about just trap the ball and pass, then make runs into space like Richarlison and co? Who asked him to dribble? Simple trap and pass, he can't. Oya score one on one with keeper, he can't. If he can't trap, pass or score one-on-one, please remind me why you want him to play striker again? Will he not need to do these things as basic elements of CF play? Stop making excuses for a player out-of-form. On a normal day when in form, he is even able to dribble decently on the wings sef |
madrid5:For German national team, he plays wing or striker. Na there he go live or die. We are not doing any Lacazette or Griezmann business here. Leipzig do not play with real wingers, they either use Angelino, Nkunku or Haidara who are not traditional wingers. Angelino is a full-back while Nkunku and Haidara are AMs capable of drifting wide but not free-flowing runners with the ball. Those are the sort of players you use if you want to play two strikers because they need to be able to come inside to protect the centre (as you will only have two CMs), and they also need to leave some space on the flanks for Werner to run into. In German National where he has Sane and Gnabry who are traditional wingers, he plays in a traditional 4-3-3. Chelsea is not about to ditch Ziyech and Pulisic wing play just to accommodate Werner as support striker. That will involve playing the likes of Mount and Havertz as nominal wingers if you want to play two strikers which will not happen. |
FBS:In the last 3 or 4 matches precisely because of injury to wingers and facing teams that parked the bus. When teams clog the centre, you have to cross with fullbacks, it's that simple, just like Liverpool yesterday |
madrid5:Our play is far from cross and nod. We create the second most chances in the league, not from cross and nod. Where do you think Klopp and Guardiola would play Werner? Don't use players poor form to recommend formation that doesn't exist at top level. Werner will live or die in 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 just like he would have had to do in Liverpool. Is that not what he plays for Germany? |
madrid5:You want Werner to play Second Striker. OK Also Madrid5: Havertz must play in the hole behind the striker Shebi na two 2nd strikers we go play? Shey Klopp and Guardiola dey play two strikers ni? Na substitute winger wey Werner for play for Liverpool behind Salah and Mane. Na why I no dey join scattergun analysis be this. When our wingers are fit, Werner will play Striker. Till then, make he manage wings. Which top club plays with two strikers and what formation is that? Are we going back to 1990s? Werner done turn to Lacazette. Can't play striker, can't play wings, can't even play no10. Na to play formation wey no exist remain. |
And Obasanjo did not inform his boss Murtala? Infact he used the opportunity to ensure Murtala got killed and plotted how to take power after Murtalas death. |
Amoto94:Overanalysis of a player in poor form. Na from the same wing wey players like Son dey make diagonal runs. This season Werner and Salah are evenly matched for big chances per 90 mins and almost the same for shots in the box. I don't know how whether him starting the game as winger or SS will affect his ability to finish a one-on-one with the keeper in the box. Are you saying that merely by the fact he nominally started the game at SS means he will finish the exact same chance than if he nominally started the game on the wings? Werner will come good eventually. He has too much speed not to. We just need to realise he is limited outside of pure speed.

swiz123:No, I didn't absolve him.of any fault. Infact I blamed him for wasting one of his three subs on Jorginho when Giroud, CHO and Havertz were the only options available to him to change the game in my opinion. What I won't do is unnecessarily add my voice to what has been a lot of unnecessary criticism right from the West Brom game on a manager I think has been harshly criticised. Even if I think he fücked up in a particular game, I won't stress it too much as he already got enough unfair criticisms for example those who were demanding he play an injured Ziyech and Pulisic at season start and blaming him for it. For example, We have a game in 48 hours time of which I fully expect CHO and Werner to start on the wings as Pulisic should not be playing twice in 48 hours with his hamstring record. I fully expect in that game for the same old moaners to start chorusing criticism calling him mumu for starting Werner on the wing again when Pulisic is there, and killing Werner confidence by playing him on the wing. These are the sort of dumb criticism I dissociate myself from in addition to the dumb criticism of some who criticise when Havertz doesn't play, while others criticise when Mount doesn't play or when Kova doesn't play. Some will shout when Kai or Werner are played on the wing, then the same people who have been criticising CHO for the last 2 years will moan that CHO didn't start over them. Some think the chances Werner has been missing should be scored by any striker yet think if you move him from wing to CF, he will automatically start converting one-on-ones with goalkeeper that he couldn't convert when played on the wing. The point is, there is no consencus amongst Chelsea fans about the right selections. If he go one way, half the fans will be pissed off, and if he go the other way, the other half will be pissed off. That just tells me there are personell and injury problems. On a normal day, you can't bet that a starting line-up of CHO, Puli and Giroud defeat Arsenal, yet that is the line up you use to blame Lampard for losing against Arsenal. What I saw against Arsenal was poor play yes, but unacceptable tracking from the wingers and a whole load of luck for Arsenal. I still have my criticisms of Lampard in that game, but I can't add my voice to such scattergun criticism. |
swiz123:You want to be a Liverpool with Giroud as your main hope for centre-forward shows that your expectations are amiss. To be a Liverpool, you need a Salah, a Mane, a KDB, a Sterling, an Aguero, a Lewandowski, a Messi etc. The only two attackers we have even approaching half that level (Ziyech and Pulisic) are constantly injured. The truth is that spending big money on Havertz is distorting expectations especially as Havertz is becoming an albatross round the neck. Arsenal don't become a consistent title contender just because they spent the same amount on Pepe. A young Salah or Mane will fetch you £200m-£250m on the open market now so forget thinking that Havertz signing is transformative. Infact, Lampard should not have accepted that signing as it distorts expectations. It is a signing the board brought to him which he deemed unnecessary, not one he asked for. That guy cannot measure up to even half of Bruno Fernandes even on form, yet the expectation is that we transform into consistent title contenders while Manure continue to be happy with top4. My expectations at the start of this season were to finish behind City and Liverpool ie 3rd or 4th and that hasn't changed, nor am I panicking while we are still in that race. It is looking obvious that those who expected Chelsea to be title contenders and were dancing and trolling rival fans all summer about signing Kai and Werner are the ones whose fuse is short at any draw or defeat. Even in our second game against West Brom, before our new signings could step on the pitch, they had started blaming Lampard for brainfarts of Alonso and Kepa. With young managers, what you look for is promise. Often when we have our full players on the pitch, there is plenty of that. We are always in the top two or three for chances created and in the bottom two or three for chances conceded which tells me something is going right but the team is not complete in the striker position, and suffering key injuries in other positions. |
nihilistjnr:They gapping James, not Chilwell. Chilwell is fast enough to cope with most wingers The Tierney penalty, James literally just had to leave Martinelli to rush Tierney cos Werner had let Tierney go unchallenged without even trying. As James got there, Tierney changed direction on him. That was just a case of being unbalanced, and Tierney using his body momentum against him, cos he got there late trying to cover a run that Werner let go. |
nihilistjnr:It wasn't playing them high up the pitch that cost us. MOTD just showed that all 3 goals were as a result of Werner and Puli not following their fullback which resulted in 2-on-1s Vs James and Chilwell. |
