nihilistjnr: Way ahead of you bro. I'm looking into that and the small business relief loan that comes in in June.
Yeah still contracting, year end is still March.
That delay on vat returns till summer is a nice cashflow boost to have during this period as well.
Wfh is saving me around 1300 in monthly overhead too
There's enough in reserve to cover next 6 months at current rate of spending, might stretch to a year if I really tighten the belt.
But I'm already in fight or flight mode, and willing to sign on if it gets to that. You do well. Contractors usually have strong cash reserves kept in the company waiting to be allocated. The only problem is they let you go with one weeks notice. My guy who leads IT at Manchester Airport just had to let 4 go, and he's worried sick himself, but he built up enough cash left in his business from his contracting days. As for me, I'm suddenly over-leveraged on mortgages with no cash buffer. I go take that 3 months mortgage break to try bank small cash. Childminder done cancel me so I go bank that monthly saving and care for the kids between myself and madam. Also if redundancy comes, that should still provide another maybe 9 months due to length of service. With income protection insurance that pays some small amount for 12 months, I think I go dey alright till this thing blows over hopefully, but I need to bank some cash fast to feel more comfortable. I hope our guy Nateevs is alright. I know he services IT for hotel industry. |

nihilistjnr: Oboy CEO sent company wide email yesterday saying that there's money in the pot for administrative cost this financial year, but that money no dey certain for next year.
I just last week signed an extension to take me to summer, but that email was the first warning say guy you're on shaky ground. Try look into that 3 month mortgage break and bank the cash if things are looking shaky ahead. I heard they just ask you to fill in form or send email without any questions asked. I plan to look into it later today. Does your financial year end in March, and are you still a contractor? |

afrodoc2: Countries like Naija that have no such scheme for the unemployed and the lower classes will be the ones to suffer the most. I won't be surprised if something major happens in terms of civil disobedience or even riots. People won't just sit at home and starve to death. Yes oh, I'm keeping eye on how poor South Africans react to lockdown, knowing those guys in the shanties need to hit the road to feed everyday, and whether they unleash their pent up frustration on others including the rich whites who can afford to lockdown. South Africa is approaching 1,000 cases at which they start to trigger these draconian measures. |

BlueRayDick: What if I open a dollar account, convert the cash the naira to dollar and save it in the dollar account?
I'm skeptical of keeping dollars at home. I once blamed a man whose estate was burgled and in his police report he claimed 3k dollars 15k euros and 1,800 pounds. I was saying he's foolish keeping that much hard currency at home Yes, you could that also. Wasn't sure if dollar deposit accounts were on offer in Naija. Make sure say na solid bank sha. However be cognisant that a dollar deposit account may only pay you at the CBN rate, not the parallel rate - if the money can only be withdraw in Naira (not sure). If 2015 is anything to go by, the parallel rate was almost doubling the CBN rate at one point. |

afrodoc2: THOUSANDS of people are losing their jobs every week over this wahala. I just can't imagine what people are going through now.
If care is not taken the people that coronavirus no kill, starvation go nab them. I am not sure what the solution is, but something has to be done, or else some families and even countries will land in generational gbese. Did you say thousands? Oga, 3.3m people lost their job in USA last week. 1m people in Britain. This is the fastest recession in history. The Great depression of 1929 claimed 9m jobs in 3 years in Yankee. We could see that number in 3 months. |

BlueRayDick: Seriously unprecedented.
I was going make a financial commitment last week that will cost almost 800k, but from the analysis of the Nigerian and world economy in this trying times, mo ya look away.
I learnt not only will Nigeria as a nation face great financial problems resulting from the crash in oil prices and how it affects the budget, the world at large may also experience recession as a fallout of the Corona virus pabdemic. With countries closing borders and producing countries not getting to sell their stuff this period, the fallout will be seriously serious. It is best you convert that N800k to dollars, hide it somewhere safe and come back to it in 6 months after Naira must have lost half it's value against the dollar. By then it would provide decent buffer against the inflation that will come with the tumbling Naira. Do not save that money in the bank. |

obainojazz: Sowore sounds crazy but if true..he should better stop fighting for these youths.. most of them are sworn zombies and will be the first to stone him Sowore needs to sneak out of Naija. With so much international focus on Covid, states can easily carry out extra-judicial killings and the international community would be too busy to hold them to account. |

raumdeuter: I no wan talk make he no be like say person no dey sensitive to the plight of Nigerians
I read it online on some Bayern board where someone said a neighbour called that he is having symptoms, they asked him, "Have you travelled out of the country lately? He said NO, Has anyone in your house travelled out of the country Lately? No.
No test for you, Stay at home and isolate Something wey dey kill all those rich old men like Sanz and co
Most places in the world na God hand you dey for this Corona. Even best medical systems are struggling, Naija this is the time for our faith and prayers to work for us
Meanwhile, Kosovo don overthrow their govt Western countries are going into lockdown so they can build their ventilator and ICU capacity. Which leads me to ask - What is Nigeria going into lockdown for? No single ventilator will be produced in a lockdown. Does Nigeria even have a decent number of anaesthetists for intubation? Nigeria needs to proceed IMMEDIATELY with the Herd Immunity approach. Most Nigerians work in the informal economy and rely on going out daily to survive. You can quarantine them, but you can't quarantine their bills, neither can you quarantine a face-me-I-face-you environment where most Nigerians live. The economic impact of Nigeria going into a lockdown will claim more lives than the purported true mortality rate of 4 in 1,000. |

South London, Midlands, and the North East.
I'm sure Bent played for Ipswich too.
What made me reconsider was when I looked at the goal numbers again to realise it was a DMs numbers.
Midfielder from South who played for villa and West ham, that was when I went for reo cooker as first choice. jlloyd Samuel maybe second choice. Na ReoCoker JLloyd started at Villa |
