iamoyindamola:Index case in UK arrived since early Feb or even undetected arrivals in January. Na now things want red. Italys' Lombardy region control textile industry and use thousañds of Chinese migrant workers who fly back and forth to Hubei province. They were probably first exposed in late December or early January, but na end of March wey things red. One month is too short a time to judge spread. Things go move undetected until there is too much death to hide. No believe all that nonsense from NCDC. If a whole group of travellers from Ivory Coast to Osun could test positive, yet Ivory Coast is declaring next to nothing, then there is a lot going on undetected in Africa which will crystallize in few months. |
raumdeuter:Make una take am easy for USA. How only una go dey declare 2,000 deaths per day forecast to peak at 5,000 by peak. Na only una waka come? |
ornicus:Are you seeing the same or is the virus just going around undetected. Indonesia apparently has massive spread going undetected as of present which should start to blow up in 2 weeks. We are seeing hundreds of dead bodies on the street in Ecuador but they are not reporting much officially. I say judge Naija in a few weeks time. Don't read anything into those official stats. One thing we have to be mindful of in Africa is that even though our immune system is stronger and the weak among us have already died from other morbidities, we have higher incidence of HIV, and most of those are immunocompromised. The HIV+ in African populations alone can explode our fatality rates even though the rest of the population is fairly fit in comparison. |
afrodoc2:So you think the Vitamin D aspect is not as significant? All the doctors that have died in UK so far are of darker skin. I think they have all these things you mentioned above. |
What is behind the higher death rate of black people from Covid-19? Death rate per 1,000 in New York is twice that of whites Black people make up 30% of Chicago population yet 62% of deaths We're seeing the same in London. New York and New Jersey Governors blame it on socio-economic conditions eg black people having no choice but to work, and having to ride buses and trains thereby not observing social distancing. However a doctor I follow on YouTube I think hit the nail on the head by saying darker skin converts Vitamin D from the sun more slowly than lighter skin so black people generally have lower level of Vitamin D. Vitamin D of course is key to fighting off viruses. Doctors in the house, what do you think? |
Thanks to FIFA for transfer ban. Any club wey hunger hook go need to sell players cheap to finance their liabilities. Na we go get money to buy.

raumdeuter:Not all babies born in Nigeria. We got our BCG Vaccine in Nigeria in 1991, thanks to the great work of Dr Olikoye Ransome-Kuti, then Health minister in implementing universal vaccination. I was still young enough to qualify for the vaccine but I don't remember my older sisters joining us on that trip to PH teaching Hospital. Check with your mumsie if you qualified for that program then, as per say you be grandpa ![]() I just rang a private GP yesterday to sneak in another BCG vaccine to boost immune system but they told me adults would have to do Mantoux test which would require some respiratory specialists who are not available now due to Covid requirements. I sha booked the BCG for my kids this weekend as UK no dey give universal BCG again. I also threw in pneumococcal vaccine for myself and madam, make we at least comot bacteria from the pneumonia equation. |
raumdeuter:Na Diggz carry Corona come London. |
diggz:BTW, This go mean say you done jappa. Welcome to UK. Corona will not spoil your plans in Jesus name. |
Eruditor:Team Chloroquine jor. Gimme 5. |
raumdeuter: ![]() Diggz shakara done end. Diggz, make I warn you that Azithromycin has major interaction with Chloro. They both have arrhythmia as a potential side-effect. No go catch heart attack ontop Amarachi oh. Stay away from dat tin this period. |
Greatihex:Greatihex, na you dey preach? |
Swissh:I read that. They are wusses. I would rather have the headache and nausea than death. |
donjazet:Trump will definitely win reelection. His mastery of media is unrivalled. Don't underestimate the stüpidity of Americans. |
Roland17:By the time Trump finish spinning this thing, his supporters will believe he is the one who took Covid serious while others were joking with it. His only focus in January and February was in keeping the stockmarket climbing as he was basing his 2nd term campaign on the economy. I only blame the Democrats for not attacking him strongly in January and February. They were too busy with their internal elections Now Trump has stolen the narrative. All this finger-pointing at China and WHO is just to steal the narrative back. |
obainojazz:Go and check the nonsense Trump was saying until late February, downplaying Corona as just a flu |
obainojazz:Trump was not the first to act anything Democrats were slow to attack Trump on his lackadaisical attitude to the virus until he trumped them with the travel ban. The travel ban was late, but draconian for a reason - to steal back the political argument from the democrats |
wman:I am anti-Trump and pro-CNN by the way. All those CNN reporters encouraging una to leave yourself to fate are asking their Doctor friends for Chloro prescription in the background. Even doctors were hiding Chloro away at home while talking another thing in public. When Trump said it, Doctors couldn't prescribe it for Covid, now after FDA emergency approval, they can. But too late, CNN has already convinced the left-wingers not to protect themselves in the name of "let's laugh at Trump" No trust your health to anybody at the moment oh. The same expert advice is what landed Boris Johnson in ICU. Trump is now offering to send him experimental drugs CNN will be saying one thing, their comrades at Wall Street Journal will be saying another.

diggz:Guy just buy any antibiotic and keep. My sister who is a nurse was just relating me now now how 3 of her Naija classmates now based in Yankee caught Covid in early January and thought they had malaria that comes with cough. One had flown to Naija on leave just after falling sick and his sister who is a nurse got him antimalaria and antibiotics and he recovered on the 4th day. Couple weeks later the other one said he has the same problem and was treated with the same thing. The last one na him yawa gas. He spent two weeks in ITU under intubation. They convinced the doctors he might have malaria in his blood and he was treated in ITU with antimalarials and antibiotics. He finally made a recovery. Na now them they put 2 and 2 together that they must have had Covid. |
afrodoc2:Hahahaha. You're assuming I used my stock of chloro. No sir, it's been divvied up and dispatched to kith and kin all over the country. I'm running low of stock for giving out, but I still have my stash for myself and my wife. I have consulted my BNF dictionary on how to use it, not to worry. The last batch I have to give out has been kept aside for my cousin who is a doctor to come and collect tomorrow (sister to your mate in Trinidad) Even doctors are rushing the thing oga. My football group who I play with are mostly doctors and a few of them were asking for it. One of my wife RMO friend was even begging last week. Nobody want die oh ![]() |
chic2pimp:Mate, chloroquine has some efficacy against all Coronaviruses including the common cold, Flu and SARS. It is not a cure, but a decent treatment to inhibit viral replication if used early. It was used on SARS which is why they brought it back for Covid. Just because you hear cancer has no cure does not mean you should not take chemotherapy drugs that have some efficacy. Same with chloroquine and Covid. Those dying are those who presented to Hospital too late. Chloroquine should be taken first thing to inhibit replication, allowing your immune system to deal with what's already on board. Because people are dying of cancer does not mean you should reject chemotherapy drugs. Everyone from China, Korea, India, Australia etc are using it. Who am I to argue? Below is one of the journals I read that made me go for chloroquine. You will have to convert from Chinese to English. http://rs.yiigle.com/m/yufabiao/1182323.htm |
raumdeuter:My best mate got sucked into that politics. He is Indian so not used to chloroquine, harbouring fears of the drug unlike ourselves who grew up in Naija. His fiance, her brother and her mother went down with suspected Covid over the last 2 weeks. The mother and brother defeated it within few days. I offered to send him a cut from my last batch of Chloroquine last week, he said no they should be alright because he was following politics. As of today, his fiance is on day 9 and starting to develop a cough. He is now getting worried based on how Boris own developed and the fact his fiance is still wiped out 9 days later and started asking me for chloroquine tonight, but unfortunately I am now low and even before I post anything, some days would pass to reach them, and there would be too much virus in the system at this stage for chloro to have much effect. We should rather have it than not to prevent stories that touch. Same way my sister who too dey do oyinbo went down with suspected Covid last week. Despite having plenty chloro I sent her, her and her oyinbo husband were still prevaricating waiting for non existent doctor to tell them what to do. It was only on Day 4 of symptoms that the husband called one of his consultant friends who told them to start taking chloro immediately for 6 days, that they've even left it too late. The guy did not even know they had some at home. That's when they had sense to start taking it. Thankfully she is OK now. We should not let doing oyinbo oyinbo and CNN lure us into danger. Naija man has no fear of chloroquine. For example, my dad did not hesitate to activate chloroquine when he had a cough, although that was not even Covid. He did not die, yet some people think we should not hold chloroquine because CNN is fighting with Trump.
|
chic2pimp:The same chloroquine I grew up drinking like water for malaria? You mean Trump announced Chloroquine on live TV, 50 million people went and bought the thing and only 3 idiots from Naija went into hospital with Chloroquine poisoning, and one person in Yankee died from taking non-medical Chloroquine used for cleaning swimming pools. Don't let CNN attempt to make Trump look stüpid stop you from protecting yourself oh. Good health is better than politics. I have been stocking Chloroquine a good 2 months before Trump made his statement based on it's usage in several countries like China and Korea etc. I will not let CNN political pointscoring stop me from protecting my kith and kin. |
raumdeuter:Intubation in ICU is 50-50 according to stats from everyone who's entered intubation with Covid. Boris is not yet intubated, but is close to being so, and they are keeping ventilators close by. He was forming boss, working from home, holdng regular meetings by Zoom instead of sleeping and giving his immune system every chance. With this virus, if you reach day 10-14, you either get well rapidly or deteriorate rapidly. It looks like he is going the other way. If this guy die ehn, all healthcare professionals will be psychology damaged. You will see many of them starting to drop out from the front line cos if this can take Boris, dem go know say power pass power. |
chic2pimp:I noticed your earlier comment that it was only precautionary. Believe me, Govt will only send out positive message so that the country won't panic, and ministers won't start scrambling for power. If a country cannot take care of it's no1 citizen, I will not be waiting for non-existent Healthcare system to take care of me. Chloroquine and Azithromycin at the ready mate. Even if common catarrh hold me, I don dey swallow. |
Headline should read "Waist-trainer strangles foetus". You will be wearing waist-trainer upandan to reduce your waist which God created as space for children to grow, now you are surprised. |
Victornezzar:That's crazy. Condolences to him. |
airmark:Nah mate, I no dey fear Covid. My immune system is strong and I have faith in my chloro and Azithro. I have a team of 5 in Supplies who I expect to show face 3 times a week, so I must also show face. Infact in two weeks time, I will increase my days to 4 from Thursday to Sunday. Everyone should be worried about the economic impact when this is over and those who were derelict in their duties will get it worse. Worst case scenario, I have life insurances up to my eyeballs that will take care of my family wella, which is all I hustle for anyway. |
Boris Johnson receiving oxygen treatment Also one of my colleagues husband was intubated last night, which is a 50-50 chance of survival. She is my age mate sef. E don dey red. |
Boris Johnson has been admitted to Hospital. He is one of the unlucky few whom resting at home isnt working for him. I hope this won't turn into something else oh. |
airmark:Yakubu contract was £20k at Portsmouth. By process of elimination, this is either Kanu, Defoe or Crouch as they all signed with Redknapp for £50k, although Kanus contract was slightly less at £45k Utaka was on £80k so not him. |
ornicus:Naija death rate will be low. I see little reason for lockdown. |
