BafanaBafana: Whenever Messi does something impressive, everyone is quiet because we are all used to it. It's normal for Messi to do magic. But whenever Ronaldo scores one goal, we all start mentioning Messi's name. It seems Messi is the standard Ronaldo is trying to measure up to. This is not true, even d small dribble Messi dribbled Ronaldo in their last match was all over Twitter. Infact they made it such a big deal that Messi dribbled Ronaldo. |

Picking money from the ground. When am being told stories of people who picked money which did not belong to them on the ground, how they'll turn to goats, chicken, yam, wheel barrow and a host of others, fear engulfs me to the marrow. I refused to pick money from the ground under no circumstances but one day all that changed. I was coming back from school (2011) under the scorching sun, thirsty and famished after the days compound work I was going home alone that day when I saw 50 Naira lying on the floor. I prayed in my (God if am going to turn into a goat let me but I will take this money) I bent down and picked the money and looked at myself and started laughing seeing the fact that am alive and nothing is wrong with me. I just kuku carry the money enter the nearest shop buy water drink, if not I don't know if I would be alive typing this.

The manufacturers has manufacture the vaccine, they have done all their test and certify that's it's ok. But each countries has their own agency that will approve the vaccine or not. Nigeria for example we have nafdac. Without the Nigeria govt and nafdac approving the vaccine it will not be given to any Nigerian. |

sarutobi: Reduce cost by using AWS Is this a joke?
Decoupled architecture? Why? There must be a reason to go that far.
Nairaland is a simple app. Its does not need to have the frontend and backend hosted separately. A good dedicated server should handle the load well.
You can use the new buzzwords like angular, vue, nodejs etc to bamboozle the client and win customers but simple plain PHP/Python/Ruby with vanilla javascript will be more than enough to produce nairaland in record time.
I consider the owner of Nairaland to be very smart. this is why nairaland does exactly what it needs to do. Nothing more, nothing less. I like ur comment many times o, because I was like why can't someone use normal php, JavaScript hosted on a dedicated server. Instead of going through all does stress mentioned above. |

They heat them, I think kerosene and diesel have low heating point compared to other crude product. Why this is kinda bad is they they heat and get only a few products and discard the rest. Where as in a standard refinery one can get as many products as possible. |

Did you approach any court of competent jurisdiction when she was denial you from seeing your baby.
Did you show up at the baby school to pay for school fees of your daughter and she said no?
Did you meet up with her family members claiming responsibility for your daughter and she denied.
Did you call her out on this same social media when the girl was still in secondary school?

Even with the way you Chinese scorch the ends of the Earth ravaging and scavenging every natural resource in sight, one would think you would have shipped mining and drilling equipments on it by now, not some robot to hoist a damn flag. U donno how politics work, it's all about money, it's cheaper to send a robot to do the job than to send human. US reduce NASA budget by more than 80 percent, u don't expect NASA to be as efficient as b4 with such budget cut. For the past 9 yrs NASA has not been able to send anyone to space not to talk of the moon. But thanks to Elon musk, they were able to send some astronaut to space this year. When sending a human cost 1 billion and sending a robot cost 2 million, who would u send. |

Mind you, I'm Igbo so that you don't think I attached sentiment to it. What about the Yoruba name appearing 7 times? Some candidate that apply were complaining how their name was not shortlisted but their application number was shortlisted with a different name. U still dey form jjc for Nigeria matter. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Army Recruitment Shortlist: What I Noticed. by ibuildstuff(m): 7:20am On Dec 02, 2020 |
csnc: The army recruitment list is out, as announced on this thread earlier ( https://www.nairaland.com/6289833/nigerian-army-80rri-list-shortlisted ).
I decided to check out names on the list out of curiosity. While going through some states, I saw some candidates names, appear more than 3 times on average. Now, one would think they might be different people. But in a case where someone's name (Surname-Firstname-Middlename being the same) appears 7-10 times. It's more than coincidence. The only difference in these cases are the application numbers (here I am guessing, candidates may have submitted multiple times due to network).
There was even a case where it was just application number and no name. Well I am posting this to call the Attention of the Army Authorities and appealing to them, to rectify this if possible. If it's not possible at least the error should be noted, against subsequent recruitments.
I know at the end of the screening about a 100 people may be picked per state, but at least candidates shouldn't be denied at the first hurdle by no fault of theirs. As it is now, picking a candidate multiple times may short-change some states and by implication some candidates.
P.S. the list is available online for all to see. Before one person somewhere go talk say this na disclosure of sensitive information.
You can also check out the list too on the link below. Just pick a state and go through it.
https://ims.army.mil.ng/darrr/shortlisted
See some Screenshots below. Are u new in this country, the military force is base on connection entirely. Some people name did not come out but their application number came out with another person's name. The army don't even try to hide it, u can only join when u have the right connection, especially for commission officer. |
