Tammy is a Chelsea player and will most likely be loaned out to another club.
This boy is still a young player coming up. And shouldnt be written off just yet. |

Mickael2: our strikers then were piss poor. I remember against Tahiti there was a time Ujah was sent clean through on goal and somehow he fell down, I thought that was going to be the worst miss of the match until Ideye started doing his own. Oduamadi was scoring far tougher chances. Since that match na only Musa wey I don see wey dey fall for ground in front of keeper Against Tahiti, Ideye wanted to claim one of Oduamadi's goals by still kicking the ball against the need after it had clearly crossed the line. Emenike's goal scoring just later dried up like someone tied his legs from the village. Keshi did not have good strikers during his time. |

Mickael2: How you go just dey dey yarn rubbish?
Against CIV we should have won 3-0, there was a chance that Emenike missed before he even scored that goal, and the goal that CIV scored was because of a dive by Drogba, do watch the highlights again. Our defence hardly even had anything to do, in fact they had a far tougher game against Burkina Faso
How exactly were we poor at the Confed cup? Against Tahiti we created enough chances to score atleast 10goals, is it Keshi's fault that the strikers on the day(Ujah and co) couldn't score? Or is it also Keshi's fault that most of our regulars were injured going to that tournament? I believe we missed like 3-4 core players in that tournament yet we played very well, now we lose 3 players and we are mince meat for ordinary SA and Serbia. Uruguay were eventual WC semifinalists yet they didn't outplay us. Then in the game against Spain, we were no longer going to qualify, do you still come to park the bus? You come out and play football since you have nothing to lose, that is the basic of knockout football.
I don't understand your problem exactly. Is it that Keshi did not qualify Togo? There is also another instance of how good Keshi is, in one Afcon like that he took Mali and they came back from 4 goals down at halftime to tie 4 all with the hosts Angola, we couldn't even come back from two goals down against SA in a competitive game, that says a lot.
Nobody is arguing against what Rohr is doing but saying that Keshi is better, way better than Rohr TACTICALLY is clear for even the blind to see You remind me of the strikers we paraded at that Confed Cup: Brown Ideye, Anthony Ujah and Gambo Mohammed. Nigeria scored a total of 7 goals in the tournament. But guess what? None came from the so called strikers. |

Only icon4s,enomakos,goldfish80,certitude and very few will understand this statement. Oh as a footballer Keshi was like a god in the Green Eagles. This he displayed both on and off the field. Even with our small black and white TVs then it was not difficult to identify Keshi when he was on the ball. He was a defense Marshall particularly in the 80s. He was almost as influencial as the coach on and off the field of play. Little wonder he was called "The Boss". He was always destined to be a Successful coach. I think he followed the footsteps of his predecessor Christian Chukwu who was nicked named "Chairman". These were MEN that led the Eagles back then. |

The only long term approach was to have a decent performance at Russia, playing in 2019 and 2021 afcon and qualified for 2020 WC,nothing more. Hahaha, you know why? That Serbia game was a reality check to many. But if you have followed the game long enough you will know things can turn around if both teams square up again. safarigirl: this whole stupidity that many of you like to exhibit on this thread is nauseating.
Every time someone speaks up for me it is because the person is in love, he is looking for how to get into my pants and all sorts of silly comments
If you cannot keep your disgusting chauvinism and misogynistic comments out of discussions, then it is better to not engage in the discussions
Certain people here are old enough to birth me and for you to disrespect them by saying they are in love, with who? If I were a guy would you make such a daft comment?

Kog45: Chief my point is being a knowledgeable and good analyst of Nigeria football doesn't give you privilege to know certain things about Nigeria football especially discovery of player.
In the case of Mikel,a lot would tell you Siasia discovered Mikel and to some it was Eguavoen but rooted ones knew it was Henry Nwosu.
On Enyeama,Ejide,Aiyenugba and Osaze,Onigbinde was not even in the picture.
Enyeama Vincent was discovered by coach Fanny Amu and Amusa Adisa prior to 2002 WC.
Austin Ejide was discovered by Amusa Adisa when he kept for Gabros against Kwara United.
Dele Aiyenugba was discovered by a female FIFA badge referee Faith Irabor who recommended him to Stephen Keshi 2001 U17 team.
Osaze was not in Belgium when he played for eagles. He got his national team call through Onigbinde, made his debut the same day with Enyeama on May 4, 2002 against Kenya.
Hope you remember he was alternative player to 2002 WC.It was after WC he left for Le louvier in Belgium 2002/03 session.
So safarigirl saying Siasia discovered Mikel not a big deal to me cos i even thought it was Eguavoen and if not for you i will never know it was Henry Nwosu.
Hope you get my point now. OK. I get your Point Sir. But where are Fani and Amun and Amusa Adisa currently? Those two really unearthed so many Nigerian footballers oh. |

Joebie: Sir it won’t be woeful. what we have now is something that looks sustainable. We want decent representation and steady progress. That’s better than getting to the QF then falling off the radar in subsequent WCs. Let’s have a more long term approach for once and not expect magic overnight. Try and understand what Kog45 is saying. If we have a woeful outting that can lead to a total disbanment and over-haul of the whole process. And we begin all over again hoping for another miracle in Qatar. If this team at least gives a descent performance it will set the stage for continuity of the progress being made and this may lead to better performances in the future. As for me, I am really pleased with the current progress of the team and would want to see it sustained. Even though I don't belong to those that have set so high a target for the team, I expect a descent outing at least. |

safarigirl: So, I have been watching videos on YouTube about World Cup predictions
I am glad to say, 97% predictions are certain Nigeria will not qualify, 85% of them have us bottom of the group, 70% are sure we won't scrape more than a point in all three games
However, I did encounter a certain gutsy fellow who has us finishing Top of the group (I am glad to say, he isn't Nigerian )
An Egyptian pundit thinks Nigeria has the best African team going to Russia (funny enough, he thinks Egypt has the worst)....he is however realistic in his expectations of qualifying and ranks Egypt as the African team with the highest qualification chances, followed by Senegal and Tunisia (because they don't have any actual powerhouses in their groups), Nigeria is 4th because Argentina is the only solid threat while the others are here and there, Morocco is dead last because they have the misfortune of playing Spain and Portugal
All in all, the predictions are okay I guess, however, the guy who thinks Nigeria will top Group D had the best analysis, others barely analysed, but his was in-depth, down to the tactical strength of each team, how they like to play (he got the part where Nigeria uses pace and soaks in pressure) and their talismans.
Watching these videos are actually fun.
PS: Some dude listed the players in our World Cup Squad. He had the likes of Alampasu, Enyeama, Success, Aaron Samuel, Nwakaeme and Emenike on his list Yes, book makers and neutral pundits tip Argentina and Croatia as favorites to advance from that group. The Egyptian fellow that tipped Nigeria to qualify probably did so in the African spirit. But one thing I must point out is any pundit that has been following Nigerian football for long should know Nigeria is a country that is capable of anything. And that is why we have hopes we can qualify from that group. That is the Nigerian spirit. We are where we are today not because we lack the talent and quality but because of majorly administrative inefficiencies and disunity in the team. Which neutral pundits would have predicted that Nigeria would have qualified from that WCQ group that had Algeria and Cameroon with one match to spare. 3 points were even deducted from us and we were still ahead. I am hinging on the fact that this team is well motivated. This current NFF administration have really superceded what most past administrations have done in terms of preparations and motivation. Plus there is unity in the team. Based on this I so much believe we are going to give any team a run for their money. I just pray all our key players remain fit. |

BascoVanVeli: You are lying to yourself. You and I both know that Eder being selected proves beyond any doubt that their options were limited.
In the past couple weeks Moses has won games for Chelsea at that position by offering cutting edge and potency as u call it. Why are u overlooking the fact that he can also have immense effect on our offense. This is the world cup and the players will do whatever will help their country. You are lying to yourself how? I am telling you the obvious and you are lying to yourself. You cannot tell me there are no strikers of Portuguese origin in the whole of the Portuguese first division. So you have even changed from "no options" to "options were limited". The simple truth is Ronaldo and Nani could offer more than what any other strikers Portugal would have paraded could have offered and so they had to play as strikers. How is that one lying to yourself? We need Moses more in the thick of attack and not as a Wing back. Why is that difficult to accept? |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 12:48am On May 09, 2018 |
BascoVanVeli: There u go with more lopsided examples. They played at striker because the team didn't have any other option. For crying out loud Eder- was their back up, if that doesn't scream of lack of quality then I don't know what does. We already have Iwobi and Nacho that combined for 3 goals and an assist as strikers in the 3-5-2, we also have Ighalo and Musa who will also get a look so what is the big deal if Moses plays in a position that he has shown he can win matches in. I don't get wat the fuss really is about tbh. Its not like I am saying he should play goal keeper, this is a position he knows more than anyone on the team. What do you mean by lopsided example? It is not that Portugal did not have any other options. Eder aside, are there no strikers in the whole of the Portuguese league? There are several strikers of Portuguese origin but the coach chosed to convert Ronaldo and Nani to strikers for that tournament. These were players that were most likely to give the team that cutting edge up front. Which was why they were paired upfront. That is the same case with Moses here. He is that WF that has the most potency to give us the cutting edge upfront. For God's sakes we don't have issues with our Wing back options. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 12:38am On May 09, 2018 |
TheGoodJoe: The U21 can help but keep in mind, we also have players who are above 21 fighting for places in the team too. A good example is Sone Aluko. We need more activities for our players. A U21 team does this too. You will invite a player like Sonne Aluko and put him in a "Team B" as you call it. Hen I laugh. European teams all have standing U21 teams and there is even a European U21 tournament to expose these players. Countries in Europe value this age grade far more than the U19/20 cos they pick from this pool to their senior teams and their U21 teams go ahead to play in the Olympics a year or 2 later. Now, the question should be how do we acccommdate players who are over 21 but are yet to feature for the Super Eagles. Remember I mentioned it as the U21/23 team. Or the U21 to progress to U23. It is expected that some exceptional players who are already 21 would have proven themselves already to get a call up to the Super Eagles. However for those who could not break in and are still in their early 20s we have an U23 age grade competition which can accommodate these them and just like from previous Dream teams we select the ones that excel to the Super Eagles. Look at simple examples of Ekong, Shehu, and Etebo from the Rio team. A good number of U23 players though are typically senior team players. Like Ekong and Shehu. My major targets for that U21-23 are players who are past the age of the 2019 U20 but are eligible for the 2020 U23. In this pool we have numerous talented players whose careers are on the ascendancy both in Europe and the NPFL. I can role out at least 50 names. We groom them together, organize quality friendlies during the FIFA free window and keep progressing those that excel. That is the simple model I am proposing. Rather than just picking 1 or 2 players and say they are special talents. We need this large pool cos we do not know those who will finally come out good or otherwise so we don't hope on a particular player or few set of players and when they flop we get hit badly. |

Dude is a winger right since he started playing professional football.. that's his best position and he is our best attacking threat... We already have Ighalo who isn't consistent,Nacho who struggles while playing as a lone striker and Iwobi who is wasted on the wings... Why drop Moses to wingback.. The Team B should be an extension of the Super Eagles and if someone prolific comes out of it, we should not wait him to do well in the club before he gets a nod.
