The Nigerian Professional League has in the past, among other challenges, been characterized by poor match venues/facilities. Recently the LMC in collaboration with the NPFL have had it tough on clubs who cannot provide TV Friendly match venues. This action has yielded great dividends as most NPFL venues are now TV friendly. See some of these NPFL stadiums and other stadiums below for your viewing pleasure Honeric01 & semid4lyfe more Nigerians need to see this positive transformation in Nigerian football. |

terzurum5: Top 10: New stars who must be included in Nigeria's Olympic squad Goal present the top 10 players eligible for Dream Team VI who must be called up for Nigeria's squad for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
Kenneth Omeruo, Kasimpasa: Few realise Kenneth is still eligible for the Olympic team due to the leadership role he has assumed in the Super Eagles since making his debut in 2013. His case is reminiscent of the trio of Victor Ikpeba, Sunday Oliseh and Jay-Jay Okocha who made the Atlanta '96 squad despite playing in the World Cup two years earlier. With the current occupants of the Dream Team VI defence doing little to instil confidence, Omeruo will be a welcome addition to bring calm, stability and experience to an otherwise disorganised defence. Chidozie Awaziem, FC Porto: A player who has seen his stock rise in the past four months after emerging from relative obscurity. A defensive midfielder by trade, he was converted to a central defender and has racked up nine first-team appearances to date, notching one goal. He is a good passer of the ball due to his development as a holding midfielder, and the Dream Team could use a player who is willing to build the play from the back. Who knows, perhaps a Portuguese-speaking player could be useful in Brazil?! Musa Muhammed, Istanbul Basaksehir FK: Captain fantastic at U-17 and U-20 level, Musa has got great potential, and his marauding runs down the right flank are reminiscent of the great Cafu. Whenever he ventures forward from his defensive position, he can deliver inch-perfect crosses for his forwards. With the Dream Team currently solely reliant on Oghenekaro Etebo for set pieces, Musa will happily share those responsibilities as he is both consistent and eye-catching. Wilfred Ndidi, Genk: 'Dogo' is experienced for his young age, having featured at two U-20 World Cups, is a two-cap Nigeria international and is playing his first full campaign in Belgium, where he has featured regularly for Genk. One of his key assets is his ability to play anywhere across the backline and he is lightening quick despite his height and comfortable on the ball. Interestingly, both caps came as a midfielder under Sunday Oliseh. Ndidi's versatility and poise could be invaluable in Brazil. Ifeanyi Matthew, Kano Pillars: Ifeanyi has grown from strength to strength since he broke onto the international scene in 2013 with the U-17s in Morocco. A versatile midfielder who is equally adept at both defensive and offensive positions, he could become Nigeria's own Michael Essien with his high work rate, excellent passing and long-range shots which often result in goals. If anyone was in doubt about his qualities, he certainly did enough to silence doubters at the CHAN earlier in the year, where he was one of Nigeria's standout performers. Alex Iwobi, Arsenal: Alexander the Great! Iwobi has steadily progressed at club level over the past six months, and has come into his true element recently, making his competitive international debut against Egypt. With Arsenal, he has impressed in the Champions League, and proved to be a decisive operator in the EPL. He brings a different kind of creativity to the team and will surely be a delight to watch. He is expected to play a starring role for Nigeria at the games this summer. Kelechi Iheanacho, Manchester City: Kelechi is one talent Samson Siasia has failed to include in his team over the past year due to club commitments. The Olympics aren't a Fifa-approved event, and it is expected that the NFF will do everything humanly possible to get arguably Nigeria's best talent at this level to feature. Kelechi will bring creativity, goals and much-needed experience to the attacking third. At this level, you don't get too many chances at goal and such a fine finisher needs to be present. Ubong Ekpai, Akwa United: A surprise inclusion on the list, but you don't get to score the lone goal against mighty Brazil in a friendly played at their backyard and get overlooked. He was initially a part of the team last year but lost his way and received a recall ahead of last month's friendly against the Selecao, which he grabbed with both hands. Ubong has been in good form this season for hometown club Akwa United, netting key goals for the Promise Keepers since his return from a stint at Kano Pillars. Imoh Ezekiel, Anderlecht: Imoh has put behind him the disappointment of failing to even make Nigeria's provisional squad ahead for the 2014 World Cup, despite rumours that he eyed Qatari nationality ahead of the 2022 World Cup ahead of his move to the Middle East two years ago. Now back in Belgium, Imoh is playing his best football once again. He could be a real asset for the Dream Team's attack with his goals, skill, pace and strength, despite his diminutive frame. He should be confident of making it to Brazil this time around. Issac Success, Granada: A prolific goalscorer who has not had the opportunity to feature regularly for his country due to club commitments, Success was the first member of the victorious Golden Eaglets of 2013 to get a pro deal in Europe, and hit the ground running less than a year later in La Liga. Success has shown his tactical versatility subsequently, playing anywhere in attack, but he is more deadly as the central striker, where his killer instincts in front of goal can be devastating. Compiled by Dami Ugbane http://www.goal.com/en-ng/news/7175/gallery/2016/05/05/23165702/top-10-new-stars-who-must-be-included-in-nigerias-olympic/kelechi-iheanacho-aston-villa-man-city-fa-cup#photo Apart from Iheanacho and Iwobi the other players on that list are not as sure as Oghenekaro Etebor, Azubuike Okechukwu, Stanley Amuzie and Moses Simon. |

forgiveness: Ok na. I hope lack of game time will not tell on him and that's my fear. See my brother, game time is good bt nt everything. What is more important is a player's ability. We know what Musa Mohammed is capable of. To me, In Right back position, I will name Moses Odubanjo and Sincere Seth ahead of Musa Mohammed. But d article did nt say top 10 for starting line up. Musa Mohammed would likely make it to Rio bt I am nt sure if he would be in starting line up. As I said Musa may nt b our best RB at this stage but some of the things that he has going for him that may likely influence his making it Rio are: -his devotion. Musa gives 110% -he is a Royal Prince of our youth system. Yes former U17 & U20 captain. -Moses Odubanjo may not be available. |

terzurum5: Nigerian Exports: Iheanacho Plays Against Real Madrid; Troost-Ekong&Bentley https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/20099Kelechi.jpg Allnigeriasoccer.com reviews the performances of players of Nigerian descent in Europe on Wednesday.
Kelechi Iheanacho and Manchester City will not compete in the Champions League final after they were beaten 1-0 by Real Madrid at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. The Nigerian played the last 22 minutes.
There were mixed fortunes for Nigerian players in the Norwegian Cup, with Lillestrom, IK Start and Viking all failing to progress to the next round while FK Haugesund, Odd Grenland and Stabaek advanced to the fourth round.
William Troost-Ekong and Anthony Izuchukwu played the entirety of FKH’s 4-1 win at First Division side åsane.
Former Flying Eagles star Chuks Akabueze started and was in action for 90 minutes as Odd beat Asker 3-2
Ex-Norway youth international Ohi Omoijuanfo played 71 minutes of Stabaek’s 3-0 rout of Baerum at the Sandvika Stadion,
Chidiebere Nwakali featured for 90 minutes as IK Start lost 3-1 to Sandnes . Teammate Austin Ikenna joined the fray eight minutes from time.
Bonke Innocent was on the pitch for the entire duration of Lillestrom’s 1-0 loss to Sandefjord . Leading scorer in the top division Fred Friday was rested for this one.
Abdullahi Suleiman opened scoring at the Lassa idrettspark (Stavanger) but could not prevent Viking from losing 2-1 to 2nd Division team Vidar.
Samuel Adegbenro and Suleiman played the full game, Aniekpeno Udoh was introduced in the 70th minute and Usmani Sale was benched.
Over to Finland. Nnamdi Oduamadi and Taye Taiwo played the entirety of HJK Helsinki’s 5-1 hammering of Ilves. Vincent Onovo was not in the capital team’s 18-man squad. The AC Milan loanee netted in the 63rd minute.
KuPS returned to winning ways, beating PS Kemi 2-0, with former Warri Wolves stars Gbolahan Salami and Azubuike Egwuekwe in action for 90 minutes.
Meanwhile, there was a debut for Paul Onobi after he came on for KuPS in the 46th minute. Ex-Golden Eaglet Abubakar Aliyu played the last eight minutes.
Nnaemeka Anyamele lasted the distance as HIFK were beaten 3-1 by VPS at Kaarlen kenttä (Vaasa).
In the Turkish Cup, Godfrey Oboabona was not selected for Rizespor’s goalless draw with Galatasaray, who qualified for the next round 3-1 on aggregate.

Note my source I quite reliable but has been wrong before.

Not revealing his name . @ Bolded, well then. Walcott's exit highly welcomed. Mahrez would be a good addition. I personally want Giroud out and I dnt see Strurridge move as a good one as just like Welbeck he is too injury prone. Can't we go for Harry Kane? I feel we can keep Gabriel and give out Per. By and Large I feel securing Mahrez may just temporarily send Iwobi to the bench. However, I still feel he will get a fair share of games more as subs and Cup games. But I trust Iwobi would take up the challenge and fight back for a starting line up. If he can displace the likes of Walcott, Cambell and "the Ox", he is not far from "being there" . |

amagunnerfan: I want Musa to join the Foxes. I really want it. However, the Olympics be good for him as well. We need him more at Leicester than at the Olympics. The way Leicester plays will really suit Musa's style of play. We need our Super Eagles players to play in competitive leagues and the EPL would be a good one for Musa and Nigeria would really benefit from it. As for the Olympics team, we will not miss Musa if players like Moses Simon, Alex Iwobi and Stanley Dimgba would be available. Oghenekaro Etebor and Kelechi Iheanacho are also deadly from the wings. Isaac Success and Imoh Ezekiel have also shown they can perform creditably well from the wings. So let us spare that over aged winger slot for a more critical position like the DMF or CB. |

amagunnerfan: Leicester City will be hypocrites if they because of the Olympics not sign Musa. Does it mean they won't release any of their players if they are invited for their national teams? Could be they really need him in the preseason's camping for him to integrate into the team's philosophy early enough. I personally prefer Musa to stay away from the Olympics and tidy up his Leicester move. |
Sports › Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by Icon4s(m): 8:22am On May 05, 2016 |
amagunnerfan: Not true. Bellerin is by far the most improved Arsenal play. Iwobi has shown if given the chance he will do well but the season didn't start in February, it started in September and Bellerin has been impressive since then. Bellerin's improvement was more remarkable last season (2014/2015) where he permanently displaced Mathew Debuchy. Bellerin's improvement for this season can not be comapared with last season. Infact his performances in our last 5-6 matches have been average. If u recall how Iwobi started this season, he was initially a CapitalOne Cup or FA Cup sub. But presently Alex Iwobi has broken into the starting lineup of Arsenal. He is now ahead of the likes of Joel Campbel, Oxlade Chmberlain and Theo Walcot. Displacing these 3 Arsenal horses is no mean achievement more so for a player that just got promoted and started the season as sub in Cup matches. Iheanacho started the season ahead of Iwobi in terms of rating but just in April Iwobi was rated as the second best young player in the EPL just behind Marco Rashford. Alex Iwobi is the most improved Arsenal player for the 2015/2016 season. |

joseph1013: All you are saying are simply your own perspective. There is nowhere in the NFF constitution that exceptional foreign starlets in the age bracket should not be invited. I already gave you an example of Habib who was in Chelsea when he was invited to Manu's squad.
What we need to do is do more of it. I cannot have a child abroad and you will tell me he is not as Nigerian as another Nigerian. You be Lord Lugard?
It may not be in the NFF constitution but the current system is very convenient for the NFF and the technical Crews and our results so far show for much. |

The foreign born Nigerians who want to play for us, should fight for their place in the U20. The U17 is for grassroots development. Bros I am 99.9999999999% with you on this one. Our U17 system has won us 5gold and 3silver medals .No Bronze . Meaning we have won 8/8 of our semi final matches We have participated in 10 editions and have played the Final 8times! We have won 3 out of the last 5 editions We have won 3 out of the last 4 editions we have participated in A Nigerian player holds the record for the highest goal scorer The 2013 Team holds the record for the highest goals scored by a Team. We were the winners of the First and Last edition This is the most successful U17 system in the World! The system that produced the likes of Victor Ikpeba, Nwankwo Kanu, Celestine Babayaro, John Mikel Obi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Isaac Success, Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Nwakali. From generation to Generation. From 1985 to 2015. We are still the best at U17 level. terzurum5: Nigeria U23s Netminder Emmanuel Daniel Concedes Three Goals As Rangers Lose https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/32710Rivers%20United.jpg A sparkling first half performance by Rivers United set the tone for a comprehensive 3-1 victory over Enugu Rangers in an exciting Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) game decided at the Yakubu Gowon (former Port Harcourt Liberation) Stadium on Sunday.
United were seemingly on the ropes before the contest with no less than five of their first team players unavailable either through suspension or injury.
In the absence of trusted personnel which included the club’s top scorer, Chinonso Okonkwo, United produced their best performance of the season as they dispatched the highly-rated Flying Antelopes with a barn-storming display.
United showed their intent early on when Chigozie Ihunda was presented with a one-on-one opportunity in the ninth minute following a shocking defensive error by Okey Odita.
The right back-turned auxiliary forward however opted to chip the goalkeeper, Emmanuel Daniel rather than go for power and the effort sailed harmlessly wide.
The home fans did not have to wait too long for the opening goal though and it arrived in the 17th minute.
Ihunda was upended in the box and Bernard Ovoke stepped up to dispatch the spot kick in cold-blooded fashion.
Four minutes later, the hosts were two goals to the good and the effort by Christian Weli will be talked about for many days to come.
The Rivers United midfielder picked up the ball about 30 yards out on the left and with the unsuspecting Rangers rear guard expecting a slow build up, Weli let fly from the outrageous distance and found the top left hand corner of Emmanuel Daniel’s goal.
The home fans went wild as they celebrated the effort which will definitely be in contention for goal-of-the-season.
United were flying and added a third goal-yet another out of the top drawer-on the stroke of half time, to virtually end the game as a contest.
A flowing team move which involved four United players was finished off, left footed by Ovoke, who fired into the roof of the Rangers net as the shell-shocked visitors struggled to contemplate what had hit them.
Rangers were to claim a consolation two minutes after the restart in fortuitous fashion with Olalekan Gabriel inadvertently diverting a cross from the right past Sunday Rotimi and into the United goal.
The two sides traded chances afterwards but the hosts always looked the likelier of the two sides to add to their tally.
Ofem Inah’s cross, with seven minutes remaining, was met by an Ihunda header which clattered against the post with Daniel beaten.
Rangers stay top of the standings with 27 points from 14 matches despite the defeat in Port Harcourt while United moved up to sixth with 22 points from 14 matches.

Leicester City's interest in CSKA Moscow striker Ahmed Musa may hit the rocks following the player's ambition to feature as one of the overaged players in Nigeria's squad at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games in Brazil, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The Foxes who are just two wins from lifting the 2015/16 English Premier League title, Completesportsnigeria.com gathered, will revive their interest in the CSKA Moscow striker who has scored 12 goals in 32 games this season.
The 23-year-old was a target for Claudio Ranieri in January, but Leicester failed to match CSKA's asking price of £20million for the Nigeria international.
"Its a big 'if' on whether he will move in the summer because he has expressed his desire to represent Nigerian at the Olympics which Leicester may not really agree with," a source close to the player told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"But once a concrete offer has been tabled, that will be discussed."
Leicester had two bids rejected by CSKA Moscow in January, but will hope to strike a compromise at around £18m for Musa in the coming weeks.
Musa can also add Champions League experience, something lacking in Ranieri's exciting squad ahead of next season.

Orkpekyandega: Alex Iwobi Voted Arsenal Third Best Player In April https://allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/88346Iwobi1.jpg Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has missed out on Arsenal’s Vitality Player of the Month award for the second straight month .
The attacking midfielder finished third in the voting behind Egypt international Mohamed Elneny, who picked up the accolade in March, and Chile star Alexis Sanchez.
Elneny got 40.2 percent of the combined votes, Alexis gained 32.3 percent while Iwobi was next with 16.3 percent of the votes.
In April, Iwobi made six straight starts for Arsenal in the Premier League, racked up 448 minutes of game time in the process, and was on target against Watford (April 2) and notched two helpers the following weekend against West Ham.
The 20-year-old has been called up to the Nigeria squad for the upcoming friendlies against Mali and Luxembourg.

Pavarotti: hmmmmm
Watford a good Choice in that it offers him more playing time than some bigger clubs
Wonder how he would fit in ?
Bench Ighalo ?
be his backup
Or be played out on the wings ? I think Watford are preparing for life without Ighalo. Besides, Clubs usually have at least 3 natural CF. So even if Ighalo remains there is still plenty of opportunities for Success to feature as Watford would be involved in so many competitions. Could be that Watford are increasing their attacking options by the inclusion of Isaac Success in their squad. Could also be that the long term plan for Success is for him to take over from Ighalo cos even if Ighalo doesn't leave this season and he repeats this kind of performance next season bigger clubs will surely swoop him away from Watford. No matter which way, it would be a good transfer move for the young lad. |
