I am not a big believer in disturbing somebody who has declared publicly that he doesn't wanna play for us (Lookman). Any team that snap him up would be happy with that transaction. And it's funny you'd say this because I made exactly the same remarks regarding the Barca scout team. This is a very good news for Etebo and for Nigeria Super Eagles, if it happens. Ralph Benitez has what it takes to bring the best out of Etebo and prepare him to explode at the World Cup. According to a report by Own Goal Nigeria, Newcastle United scouts were in attendance to watch Oghenekaro Etebo in action over the weekend.
Newcastle scouts watched on as Oghenekaro Etebo’s Feirense beat Pacos de Ferreira 1-0 in the Portuguese top division. Newcastle were running the rule over box to box midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo, according to this report, ahead of a potential summer move.
It is no secret that Benitez wants to add another central midfielder to his ranks to bolster his options alongside Jonjo Shelvey.
Etebo has emerged as a top target but the Magpies face competition from some of Europe’s finest clubs for his signature. Premier League side Leicester City are also keen on the 21-year-old with Champions League semi-finalists Monaco, Turkish giants Fenerbahce and La Liga heavyweights Sevilla weighing up a move as well.
The Nigerian international already has 8 senior caps and can also play as an attacking midfielder.

Crystal Palace have signified their interest in signing hot in demand Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru after receiving positive reports from scouts of the team about the 19 year old.
19 year old Onyekuru has 20 goals and nine assist for newly promoted Belgian side KAS Eupen, a form which has alerted top teams in Europe with Everton, Southampton, Bournemouth and Liverpool all linked with the forward.
However as exclusively reported by Owngoalnigeria.com, Everton are the only team to have submitted a bid for the Nigerian but there offer failed to match the valuation of Eupen.
Eupen want a fee of a little over 7 million pounds for their top scorer with several add ons which could see the fee rise to around 17 million pounds, Everton are yet to increase their initial offer of 5 million pounds.
A source close to the player confirmed representatives of Crystal Palace acting on the instructions of coach Sam Allardyce have contacted the representative of the forward in view of a move.
” For now Onyekuru has a new suitor in Crystal Palace, they registered their interest three days back but nothing official yet as they are yet to contact Eupen”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” He (Onyekuru) will choose the best option when it gets to that stage, for now we are weighing up offers before deciding on which is best from the angle of career progression and cash as well”.

The tie which is significant to his team chances of beating the drop saw Balogun making his first start in the league since the start of the year, and the 28 year old proved his manager right with a man of the match performance.
Balogun lasted the entire duration of the game, and was given a rating of 7.8 by respected website Whoscored.com, the highest rating among all the players on parade for Mainz 05.
Stefan Bell was the next player rated highly for Mainz 05, as he got a rating of 7.5, less than Balogun, who is expected to resume his partnership with William Troost-Ekong when Nigeria play Corsica in a friendly game.
The partnership with Troost-Ekong has been given the nickname “Oyibo Wall”, and it has emerged as the favourite of coach Gernot Rohr of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

O pari TheGoodJoe: Maybe Guardiola isn’t an outright success at Bayern Munich. But you have to look to Europe to make that case. Because in Germany, Guardiola has no equal. Count the trophies. Ten years from now, nobody is gonna remember how well Barca played but everyone is still gonna remember that Juventus won the 2017 UCL. OK, let me put it this way, he did a good job at Barca. But we can't discount the fact that he was also lucky to have some of the most talented players on the planet in his possession. And in addition, I would like to see him reproduce that magic with another team because we can declare him the greatest. Apples to apples, he couldn't crack Jupp Hyneckes achievement at Bayern. And so far, he hasn't really improved on Manuel Pellegrini's final year with ManCity - keep in mind that that final year was one of Pellegrini's worst records with City. O pari TheGoodJoe: Keep in mind Barcelona was in a steady decline towards the end of Rijkaard's reign. A team outplayed by Sevilla over and over again. Two seasons without a trophy.
Guardiola turning that Barcelona into one of the greatest sides in club football is nothing short of amazing.

He had the talents no doubt, but he could have been another Robinho if not for Pep. If you trace Xavi's rise and that of Iniesta too, you'd see Pep training them during their La Masia days(Iniesta I am sure but maybe not totally with Xavi). Did you know Busquets before? But he is easily the best DMF in the world. Or maybe you knew Pedro, or Bojan? I could go on and on. He achieved something there, end of |

The quotes below just got me lolling....because it's so true. That's why I started calling for Barca to fire Enrique ever before he announced his resignation. As per Abidal, Pep started scapegoating him even before his health scare. Trust me, I know this because I have sources at Barca. He had to play Abidal because he was the only natural left back they had at that time. Forget Iheanacho, just look at how he treated Yaya Toure at ManCity! Toure had been their best player (and the stand-in captain) over the past 5 years and the man came there to treat him like a nobody! With Porto, it was a combination of luck and bad officiating. He won the championship with the help of the Old Trafford scandal. And please don't mention that he doesn't have stars at Inter Milan. Let me list a few names for you from that squad for you: Julio Cesar - world's #1 goalkeeper that period Defenders: Ivan Cordoba, Javier Zanetti, Lucio, Maicon, Marco Materazzi, Walter Samuel, Cristian Chivu, Midfielders: Dejan Stankovic, Thiago Motta, Wesley Sneijder, Esteban Cambiasso; Strikers: Samuel Eto'o, Diego Milito, Goran Pandev, etc. And don't forget that Barca was actually denied two penalties (one in Milan and one at Nou Camp). So we can properly conclude that he won that championship with the help of Nou Camp scandal. O pari jamel9: Don't say that. Mourinho won the uefa cl with unknown players in porto. 1. From the point of view of the recession, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Inflation is slowing; government revenues are being boosted through fiscal discipline and tax reforms; fiscal, monetary, FX and trade policies are being aligned.
2. Through the CBN’s Anchor Borrowers Program the Federal Government has been able to provide financing for the production of about 5 million tons of rice so far. The goal is for Nigeria to produce all its rice locally by the end of 2018.
3. By improving fertilizer supply, and fertilizer application methods, farmers have seen crop yields double from 2 tons per hectare to 4.5 to 5 tons per hectare (up to 9 tons per hectare in some states).
4. Fertilizer is now N5,500 per bag, roughly half its usual price, thanks to the Presidential Fertilizer Initiative — which has also so far created 50,000 direct jobs and 120,000 indirect jobs.
5. The Federal Government has registered 60% of civil servants on the Integrated Personal Payroll Information System (IPPIS), and removed 58,350 ghost-workers from the payroll, resulting in savings of N92.47bn between January 2016 and April 2017.
6. Through the CBN’s Anchor Borrowers programme, the Federal Government is providing financing for hundreds of thousands of farmers. On the back of this, local rice production has almost tripled. In 2016, Nigeria imported only a tenth of the volume of rice it imported in 2015
7. One of the key ambitions of the Muhammadu Buhari Administration is to ensure that Nigerians grow what we eat and make what we use.
8. The Federal Government has set aside N50bn for improving existing Special Economic Zones and establishing new ones, to support industrialization.
9. Through the reform work of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) is implementing reforms that have made the process of business registration easier and faster.
10. To improve power supply, the Federal Government has approved N701bn as payment guarantee to Generation Companies and Gas Producers. |
