I agree. But the naija journos tend to take it to another level sha.
And by the way, you guys should slow down with these hype on Aribo. He played well on Tuesday but we need to see a few more solid performances from him before we crown him the second coming of Jay Jay Okocha or Sunday Oliseh. This reminds me the way some folks here hyped up Bryan Idowu after he scored against the Argies … until he got exposed at the World Cup

TheSuperNerd: Same way ANS and even Complete Sports have manufacturered nonsense in the past. Was it not Complete Sports reporting about Balogun being unhappy with Rohr and left the camp because he didn't start the Ukraine game? Look... all news outlets have their "fake news" times. But it doesn't mean they cannot drop legitimate news from time to time.
Bros, when did we start citing OGN as a legitimate news source? Those chaps sit back in their offices in Lagos (or where) and manufacture news/interviews from their behinds.

TheSuperNerd: It Was Like Watching Brazil Play – Ukrainian Journalist On Super Eagles First Half Display In Draw Against Ukraine
A lot of people who watched the Super Eagles of Nigeria against Ukraine were left surprised the way the Nigerian team took the game to the host team in the opening 45 minutes which ended with Nigeria leading 2-0.
The game ended in a 2-2 draw with Ukraine scoring twice in the second half but according to Ukrainian Journalist Stanislav Roman, the first half performance of the Super Eagles is similar to watching Brazil in full flow.
Roman said the way the Nigerians were confident on the ball and also the running off it left the backline of Ukraine confused and even coach of the team Andriy Shevchenko admitted after the game that his wards couldn’t keep up with the pace of the Nigerians.
He said the trio of Samuel Chukwueze, Samuel Kalu and Victor Osimhen can wreck any team in the world if they play with such neck breaking speed as seen in the first half of the draw against Ukraine two days ago.
”It was like watching Brazil play to be honest. That was the best 45 minutes any team can ever wish for. They were not just good on the ball but off it they kept making runs that left the defence of Ukraine confused. The front three can trouble any team with the pace with which they played the first 45 minutes “, Roman told Owngoalnigeria.com.
”They probably got tired in the second half but if not for the chances they fail to convert they would have rounded up the game before the first goal scored by Ukraine. Ukraine national team were taught a very good lesson by the Nigerians “.

Nigeria should just forget about this guy. He's never gonna play for us, for obvious reason. Now that Nigeria has started making noise again, Gareth Southgate would give him an invite for England's next official game and then give a 5 mins cameo and that would be that.
To me, it's time for Nigeria to move on from him but the young man is person I actually feel sorry for. England would just country tie him and then dump him as they did to the Nigerian born Brit players.
So you saw the beads but still went ahead, huh? And now you're coming back to ask questions after the facts? Talk about medicine after death
Anyway, most people wear those as a form of beauty accessory but some have feitish/occultic underpinning. If you know, you know!

Abadsheddy: A girl visited me on Sunday. As we are making love, I discovered that she had beads on waist. I asked her Why she wore those beads she refused to explain but by then I have had sex with her...
Since then I have been sacred. I don't know if those beads have effect on opposite sex. Please any body especially girls that know should explain better. Am just scared
I can understand Nigeria recalling their ambassador and demanding compensation, but what's the relevance of pulling out of the World Economic Summit? Is South Africa hosting the summit? But even if SA is hosting, it still doesn't make sense for us to pull out. I mean, it isn't like we're doing them a favor by pulling out. This is akin to cutting your nose to spite your face
Sorry, but I don't think that we have the infrastructure, plus the work ethics and the discipline it take to excel in sports like gymnastics and swimming.

Kakamorufu: I tell u bro, gymnastics and swimming are where we need to improve. those sports are where the medals are
I totally disagree, sir. Read my response to naptu2. My bottom line, we don't need the position of Chief of Staff in Nigeria because we already have the of the office of the SGF. But that doesn't surprise me sha .... this is Nigeria we're talking about.
How many cabinet secretaries/ministers do we have in Nigeria compared to the United States? gosh, we even have the "junior" and the "senior" ministers for each department sef
In the United States, we have two senator from each state but in Nigeria we have 3 senators from each state. And don't even get me started on their remunerations .... a society where the people in power pay themselves: hardship allowance, newspaper allowance, feeding allowance, car allowance etc etc. And you wonder what they use their salaries for!

seunmsg: The duties of the COS and the SGF are distinct. The SGF is the Secretary to the Federal Executive Council. He coordinates all FEC activities. In addition, he’s also in charge of policy coordination of the administration and ensuring smooth operation of all Fedeal agencies, parastatals, commissions and departments.
The COS is the political head of the office of the president (villa) the same way ministers are political heads of ministry. He’s also the overall head of all presidential aides. The COS coordinates the schedule of the president, receive and send correspondences on behalf of the president and runs the villa.
No sir, the Chief of Staff coordinates the Presidency. And when you use that term "Presidency, it implies the President and his/her cabinet. And that's exactly what's supposed to be the job of the Secretary of the Federal Government (in the Nigerian context). In a sane society, you won't have both positions..... they are redundant! Like I had previously stated, the so called Aso Rock Chief of Staff was created because they heard about the position of the White House Chief of Staff. No wonder the white folks refer to you guys are apes because y'all tend to ape everything you see/hear without taking the time to study and fully understand the process.
For example: John Kelly, the former White House Chief of Staff (and now Mick Mulvaney) coordinates every every cabinet meeting for the US govt.
The chief of staff coordinates the activities of the president, while the secretary to the government of the Federation coordinates the activities of the cabinet.
The SGF's office functions as the secretariat of the Federal Executive Council, which is why President Buhari also instructed the ministers to ensure that all memos and issues that require the attention of the FEC is routed through the SGF's office.
The chief of staff is a member of the personal staff of the president, while the SGF works for the government as a whole. It's kind of like the difference between the president's special assistant on media (who is a personal staff of the president) and the minister of information (who works for the government as a whole).
The problem with Nigeria and Nigerians is that we tend to copy everything we see overseas without asking for the owners manual.
If you have an Aso Rock Chief of Staff, why then do you need the SFG? Those two position, properly defined, are the same thing. In the United States, where Nigeria sheepishly copied the whole Chief of Staff to the Presidency thing, you don't have any position defined as the Secretary to the Federal Government. You do have a Staff Secretary, but that's not the same thing. The Staff Secretary actually works directly for the White House Chief of Staff.
Bottom line, Nigeria should learn to be original and quit sheepishly copying other people!
No wonder, Rochas Okoro-awusa fought tooth and nail to install his puppet/in-law as his successor. God has finally exposed him!
The only thing that man built in Imo state throughout his tenure were those useless and bizarre statutes
The day of reckoning is fast approaching for him.

silverbirdng: Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, has accused former Governor Rochas Okorocha, of stealing N1trillion while in power.
This was contained in a statement on Friday issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Steve Osuji.
“Available records show that in eight years, former Governor Okorocha mismanaged about One Trillion Naira belonging to Imo State”, he said.
“We are taking our time in unveiling the numerous atrocities of the last administration and certainly, he must answer for all the evil he did against the people of Imo State.
“It is very strange that a former Governor could sit and concoct lies. How could Governor Emeka Ihedioha spend N2.8b on sanitation? What was it used for? Okorocha’s problem is that he is so used to lies that he no longer knows the difference between lies and the truth.
“The state spends only about Twenty Five Million Naira on sanitation and the bulk of the funds come from support from corporate organizations as part of their corporate social responsibility.
“Okorocha also alleged that Governor Ihedioha has, within two months in office, built a Hotel in Abuja and new houses in Owerri and his village. This further shows that the man, Okorocha is sick.
“As at today, Governor Ihedioha operates from his private residence in Owerri, following the pillage and vandalisation of Government House by former Governor Okorocha and his cronies.
“How could he say the Governor is building new houses, when he owns a palatial residence in Owerri, where he operates from and mansions in his village, built many years ago? The question is – are houses built in two months?
“Only Okorocha can build a house in two months and it collapses after a short while. Imo people already know that Okorocha is a habitual liar and should not be taken seriously.
“The truth is that Okorocha wrecked Imo State. All he is doing is to attempt to divert the attention of Imo people. Unfortunately, Imo people are smarter than that.
“He also claimed that Governor Ihedioha did not win the last election. So who won? He cannot get over the fact that his puppet in-law failed; he is also in pains that he has not been able to extend his dynasty in Imo.
“But no amount of falsehood will deter the people’s governor, Ihedioha from fulfilling his electoral promise of rebuilding Imo State. The present administration shall remain on course in its efforts to recover Imo people’s funds and property looted by Rochas Okorocha and his cronies,” he said.'
Actually, the reason they should put the right people in the right positions - round pegs in the round hole. You need experience to get any job except being a cabinet minister in Nigeria. Put clueless people there and you still wonder why nothing would be achieved in 4 years
The reason they should have had portfolios some weeks ago or perhaps plug them to their specialty, maybe Aregbe for Culture! We have been making such mistakes since 1999.
Thank you, my dear! I am wondering what the uproar is. It is the job of the CoS to coordinate the presidency. Here in the United States, every meeting request with President Trump is channeled through the White House Chief of Staff.

iyatrustee: Is this not what the duties of a Chief of Staff entails? Most of them reacting do not even know how powerful the chief of Staff to their state gov's are
It's very difficult to judge players from different eras so these types of debates are often fruitless but, if I were to judge, I will go with this top 10 plus goalkeeper:
1. George Weah - the only African player to win Ballon d'Or 2. Samuel Eto'o - I can accept him as the #1 as well 3. Abedi Pele 4. Didier Drogba 5. Roger Milla 6. Rabah Madjer 7. Jay Jay Okocha 8. Yaya Toure 9. Sadio Mane 10. Kanu Nwankwo 11. Thomas N’kono
I don't think you understand how match fixing in football works. To fix a game, you don't need to pay off ALL the players, you just need to pay a few key players. Even though Messi didn't score, he created a few chances for team mates to score and he was, by far, Barca best players on the day. Hence, if you're looking into match fixing for that game, here are the players you can focus on:
Jordie Alba - I have never seem him performed as poorly as he did at Anfield. He literally gifted Liverpool the 1st and the 3rd goals. I find that suspicious. Sergio Busquets - He was missing in action all game. He literally disappeared. Clement Lenglet - Was useless all game. Ernesto Valverde - He's without a doubt the biggest culprit. His game plan and substitutes in that game were bizarre, to say the least. Letting Jordie Alba and Busquets to start the second half in that game is unjustifiable. And to cap it all, he substituted Arturo Vidal who was the only player putting some effort in Barca midfield that day deserves a proper investigation.
O pari
ReeLoaDead: I see, so according to your logic, the match was “fixed” or basically Messi and his talented cast of millionaires all collected money so that they can intentionally lose this game? To call your reasoning imbècilic would even be an understatement Like I told you before - Messi lost that game period, no match fixing, nothing! Why could Messi not score at Anfield?? Abi he does not know how to play outside of Camp Nou?? Let me next guess ... Messi and co also collected money for that 3-0 disaster at Rome too? Run away to your delusional Messi fan-girls club abeg.
