Serves us right, we shouldn't be using foreign based pros for the U-17 and U-20 tournaments. How do we discover (and encourage) home based talents if we start using foreign based pros for every single tournament O pari Humility017: it happened with manu garba and his team some years back.... since then I believe every reasonable coach ought to have a plan B... over reliance on some foreign based players and their failure to show up for the team camping early enough partly cost the team so much in that new zealand tourney |

Do you know the history and the family background of the girl in question? Are you aware that there are families that have covenant with Satan? So if someone decided to make satan his/her god, why then would God intervene in your situation? As you make your bed so should you lie on it. yes, God is the Almighty and He's all powerful but He has also given human beings their freewill. You have the right to chose whom you want to worship (either God or satan); and whomever you chose becomes your God. Hence, if someone decided to belong in the camp of satan, why would you blame God when satan decides to deal with the individual O pari 1Sharon: Can anything on this earth happen without gods permission?
Why wouldn't her situation have anything to do with god? Wasn't she created by him?
Isn't he aware she is intersex? |

Safari, don't mind them! In my book, once a player starts playing for the senior national team there's no need to keep using him on the cadet teams ... unless it's the Olympic games (if we qualify). The essence of the cadet team is to develop/discover players for the senior team. O pari safarigirl: hian
Only Chukwueze go play for senior team, play for U23, still play for U20 again. Why are the just transferring him left and right like this? Is there anybody in that nonsense U20 team playing at Chukwueze's level? Or because they heard he is 19, they think they can use him as they please?
This is highly disrespectful, they should stop insulting this boy's experience anyhow, he isn't meant to slave around and help them achieve feats they can't achieve with their mediocre players. Abi, was the coach blind when he was selecting players? |

OK. I will agree with you on Oliseh, Okocha, and Cele. But I definitely won't take Taribo over Chidi Nwanu. Taribo was a solid defender but he didn't really perform that much for the Super Eagles. Same with Ikpeba, I will definitely take Rashidi Yekini of '94 over Victor Ikpeba of '98. Ikpeba was one player who performed much better in Europe (Monaco) than he did for the Super Eagles. O pari edi287: We also had a better Sunday Oliseh. A better Jay Jay Okocha An upgrade in CB with Taribo West An Upgrade at LB with Cele Adepoju was still good Finidi was still good Oruma was a better bench option in MD Not forgetting Ikepba as well. |

Please do me a favor, do a player to player comparison of the two first teams. Keep these FACTS in mind: The Uche Okechukwu of 1994 was better than the Okechukwu of 1998. The Peter Rufia of 1994 was better than the Rufia of '98. And the following key players in '98 were carrying varying injuries: Emmanuel Amuneke Daniel Amokachie Kanu Nwankwo That's almost half your first team right there! O pari edi287: Like tbaba said - the defence of 94 is a bit overrated. Team of 94 lacked depth and the pool of talent to pick from wasn't as big as 98. I think team of 98 had more creativity as well. |

I don't blame them one bit. The cost of doing business in Nigeria is arguably the highest in the whole wide world. No power, no road network, rampant corrupt and totally inefficient system/service. To open a bank account takes less than 5 mins in the US, in Nigeria it's a whole day job.
Nigeria is a FAILED state, nothing more nothing less.

This man was a common cab driver here in the US, forged the University of Chicago degree cert, went back to Lagos and became the god of Yoruba people O pari oluchisimfred: Bola Tinubu, the former Governor of Lagos State who spoke during his 67th birthday celebration on 29 March, narrated how a naval officer slapped him. According to the APC Chieftain, it was an incident he will never forget and it all occurred when he over-charged a naval officer who was returning to the country.
Bola Tinubu who narrated how a naval officer slapped him when he was still a cab driver, said; “One experience I will not forget was when I over-charged a naval officer, who was returning to the country. It was not intentional. Apparently, I didn’t know the direction; there was no GPRS in those days to locate directions. So, he gave me the direction to his house in a Virginia suburb.“I gave him the price and the man responded with a slap to my face. He said I should know the correct fare to charge to the location he mentioned. He slapped me and gave me the money."

100% agree with that, exactly I usually agree with tbaba but I gotta differ with him on this one. Apples to apples, the 1994 team is better than the 1998 team. Don't get me wrong, the 1998 team was loaded with talent but they were missing some critical pieces, like in the goalkeeping department, and some important players were carrying injuries as well (Amuneke, Kanu, etc). The 1994 team was the most balanced Super Eagles team in recent memory. Unfortunately, inexperience cost them against Italy. O pari edi287: 100 percent agree. |

That's my boy! I was screaming his name throughout the game yesterday!! It only took me a few games to conclude that he's the real deal, and I promptly recommended him for Super Eagles. Most of y'all are coming late to the party O pari nelszx: One thing I'd commend Chukwueze for is his consistent hard work. He was tracking back and passing forward if he comes to the eagles, our white Onigbinde will bench. Such electric pace, he was a menace to the Barcelona defence. He did against Madrid and repeated again against Barça. Teams with good scout would key from his potential. |

KPOM! I hope we'll do well as well, but I am not holding my breath. Rohr is just too conservative to get the best out of our boys. We thrive in playing quick tempo game - the fast attacking football. Rohr's tactics is the direct opposite; hence, under Gernot Rohr we don't play to our strength. Rohr is detail oriented and very well organized, but his tactics simply doesn't suit our game. O pari darkelf: If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.
I agree with you on the opinion that the AFCON would expose us. My "wanting us yo win" wouldn't make us win. Rather, hardworking, good tactics, excellent man-management and the right player selection with luck on our aide should increase our chances of success.
It will be sad if we don't win or at least reach the semis because this team has received unprecedented support compared to the other teams (historically). |
