I studied as a foreign student and then immigrated as a skilled worker. Like I said, please read through the site as it has all the information on how to immigrate and will at the very least guide you as to the questions you need to be asking. |
osakajapan: please should i apply below....?I think that is the site for immigration specifically to the province of Quebec (french speaking province, by the way). Why not go to the cic.gc.ca website and read through the section on immigration from top to bottom? That will give you a good place to start from, in understanding the process. |
Demaejy: Thanks bro for your contribution. I'm not really in the shoe of the situation but i just want general thought of people on a particular country that you could say its for first time traveller as a student. It's really hard to say unless you provide more background information. Every individual is unique, and what worked for one might not work for the other. If you really want to study abroad, you should do some research (schools, programs, costs), narrow down the options and then maybe ask for input from people who've been in those countries, to get a fuller picture of what might be best for you. There could literally be almost as many options as there are countries in the world, so you need to do some groundwork, before asking other people's opinions. |
What is your budget for tuition? Bear in mind that the visa officers in most cases want to see evidence that you can afford both your tuition and living expenses without having to resort to work, for at least the first year. |
Have you considered applying to immigrate to Canada under the skilled worker program? Go to www.cic.gc.ca, the official Canadian government immigration site, for information. If your profession is included in the list of occupations eligible to apply this year, just follow the instructions for application. You can actually do the entire application process yourself, if you so wish, and since I assume you would be applying from Japan, you could most likely complete the process within a year, if you qualify and your application is appropriate. |
Congratulations!!! |
Billyonaire: No wahala, as far as there is approval from FGN, the banks will bankroll, leave financing to banks.Oh dear, if it does indeed go as far as approval from FGN, better call for 40 days prayer and fasting for the entire nation, for deliverance from those companies. |
Siga: ....U dont need to change ur study permit if u change school ...u can use same study permit with a different school as long as it is valid.....Noted. Thanks Siga. |
Billyonaire: You are not making any sense. If Dangote can invest $10b in just 2 sectors, How much more 3 companies from 3 continents. Nnah, na wa o. Self haters. If two of those three are Anita and APEC, however, then well and truly, wahala dey. |
Gooogle: Guy try and use your brain a little. Even in the world of serious research, such database you quoted is highly irrelevant.Hey Gooogle, if you're gonna play on #teamRossike, you might want to note that the 'database' I quoted from was actually a link to a Wall Street Journal blog post that he'd quoted to buttress a point (page 2 of this thread). It's not fair play to knock down a team mate, you know! |
Rossikk: I'm willing to bet you'll change your tune as the nation transforms over the next decade in an avalanche of millions of new jobs, advanced roads, solid power supply and high speed rail.We all want desperately to see the nation transform over the next decade. We know that such transformation is definitely within the realm of possibility. But it's not going to happen by means of ludicrousness such as claiming a negative net worth company with five thousand pounds in the bank is going to obtain $100 billion in funding from a 10 person Australian company and also link up with a giant like SINOPEC-- I mean, dude, come on. Let's stand up for what we know is right, and good and true. THAT's how we're going to see the nation transform over the next decade in an avalanche of millions of new jobs, advanced roads, solid power supply and high speed rail. |
eGuerrilla: On a more serious note, what is to say Anita Energy Ltd is not a front for some retired military general?Hmm, interesting to note that 6 years after it received a multi-million Euro contract, Anita Energy apparently only has five thousand pounds cash in the bank. What happened to the contract money? |
Rossikk: Sure. The Central Bank of Nigeria Deputy Governor just wanted a photo op with a couple of guys off the street. Makes perfect sense.Frankly, that would probably make more sense than this particular investment. |
Billyonaire: You lack basic Knowledge of how Joint Venture Partnership work, It is the truth. The Australian Firm is the Financier of the joint Venture. Why not look them up!Funny, I actually did look up the Australian firm, APEC logic, and here's what I found: About APEC LOGIC INVESTMENTS 1 Website http://www.apecgroup.org Industry Financial Services Type Privately Held Company Size 1-10 employees Source: http://www.linkedin.com/company/apec-logic-investments Not sure how a ten person company is going to come up with funding for a $100 billion investment. |
Rossikk: Who said all the money was coming from China?Em, not quite sure any money is coming from anywhere at the moment, to be frank. |
Rossikk: You're peddling 2005 dated news. Here's something more recent from the Wall St. Journal, showing a TRIPLING of Chinese investment in Africa every 3 years!Em, quote from the wsj blog linked above is as follows: "According to a forecast statement from South Africa’s Standard Bank, Africa’s largest bank, investment from China into Africa is likely to hit $50 billion by 2015, up 70% from 2009." Not quite sure how that forecast $50 billion investment for the whole of Africa by 2015 ties in with the proposed $100 billion investment in just one country currently being discussed. |
jikings: Folks I have a one question....my bros has received an admission for a Diploma program from University of WinepegUpdated: please see two posts down for appropriate response |
Billyonaire: Why Does that bother you ? That information may have been addressed in the fine-prints of their MoU structures. They are bringing in money and expertise. What concerns us is what they can offer and how beneficial it is to our economy. What should concern us is how a negative-net-worth, sole-shareholder, two-directorship company with five thousand pounds in the bank is going to bring something beneficial in money ($100 billion) and expertise to a country of over 150 million people. |
Billyonaire: Anita Energy and SINOPEC of China are technical partners while funding comes from APEC Logic Investment, Australia. That's how I understand it. May be you are understanding it differently.Even then, why would a company as large as SINOPEC consent to technically partner with a negative-net-worth, sole- shareholder, two man-directorship company? For that matter, why would APEC agree to fund a consortium led by a negative net worth company with five thousand pounds in cash at the bank? |
otunbaneyo09: So I mine going to apply for that when I get there or from here and what is the procces ?In your situation you'd need to find a job or be headhunted, be offered employment and have the company assist in filing the necessary paperwork in order for you to be legally authorized to work. Given the current climate, unless you've got some extraordinary skills that are in high demand and cannot be obtained from someone who is already authorized to work in the UK, such as a citizen, there is not much chance of that above scenario being actulaized. You cannot work legally on a visitor visa. |
Rossikk: Foreign Consortium Plans $100 BILLION Investment In NigeriaHmmm...raising that $100bn just might prove a bit of a challenge for Anita Energy...not sure why a company as large as SINOPEC would want to hook up with one with Anita's balance sheet, as below... Not sure if this will help, but here is information about a non profit that provides medical help to developing countries: http://www.imaworldhealth.org/who-we-are/about-us.html |
SLIDE waxie: u've been provided with an address, wot do u need the phone number for?The issue of women empowerment in Africa is a major one. For those of us outside the country who care about this issue, it's important to try to help when things like this happen. Regardless of why her workshop was shut down, Sandra was doing an amazing job to help empower women with valuable skills, so that they could care for themselves and others around them. Those of us outside the country can't do much with an address, however, when trying to reach her and offer help; hence the request for a number. I hope this helps clarify things. |
This is terrible...how can we get in touch with her to offer support (telephone # available?) |

bashtec9: Thanks for your reply @ifegy can the cooperative education and internship be counted as academic term or work permit periodI think you're asking if you need a work permit for that time period as you are a foreign student, right? If so, I'm really not sure, as I never did do an internship or co-op term. Why not try asking the school you're interested in? I know foreign students who've done co-ops/work terms, so it should be possible for you to do that as a foreign student, if it's part of your study program. |
