Also for those that cargoed their items, are there any disadvantages to doing so? Yam in itself is not a contraband item but on the banned list is '...anything containing soil...' So the only way to bring in your yam is to bring it peeled 5 Likes 7 Shares |

iaatmguy: goodlif.e2018 ifeo.ma77 like i said earlier to be on the safe side. if CIC digs deep they would most definitely know someone has misrepresented. how ? let me cite this example. there are five siblings , let's name the siblings A,B,C,D,E with NAIRALAND as their last name, two are Canada bound. D and E are the estranged siblings. D fills in 3 siblings A NAIRALAND D.O.B April1 2018, B NAIRALAND D.O.B April1 2017, C NAIRALAND April12015 leaving out E NAIRALAND April1 2013. (this is a pure case of misrepresentation). if and when E fills and doesn't add D NAIRALAND as his/her sibling, E is also misrpresenting. now fast forward to a couple of years, one of the siblings or the parents plan on visiting or immigrating (do not forget both of them have common siblings) and their name pops up as having two siblings D NAIRALAND and E NAIRALAND, but voila the siblings have no connection. this might raise a flag and it might not (i guess you don't want to leave your PR status to chance). if common microsoft excel can bring out characters appearing twice on a sheet, i doubt if their software would not do far better than MS EXCEL. However i might be wrong and i might be right. pros and cons: you come out clean and never have to look over your shoulders again, or you keep it discreet and leave your PR/citizenship status to chance of CIC not finding out. it's very dicey, if you declare now, you would be safe, but your sibling might be affected. if you don't declare now, both of you might have to look over your shoulders. or better still, have NONE of your family members apply to Canada again. THE LAW IS THE LAW, there are no exceptions, no matter how we try to circumvent it. my two cents I see your point. PS: your example gave me headache 7 Likes |

Upton: Good evening fam, I am in a bit of dilemma.
Please what are the consequences of quitting ones job before getting PR?
So I am seriously thinking about quitting my current job which I used to claim points; I actually accepted the appointment May last year because I needed to meet up to three years working experience, which I got a couple of months ago before entering the pool in March. At the time of filling my EE application, I decided to continue working at this place until April( this month) when I will clock one year at the job, so I used it as current job.
I have read instances where they ask for payslips/bank deposits ADR covering the entire period you are using to claim points, which would become a problem if someone quits and don't inform CIC and I have also read how quitting a job led to one brother going to Accra for interview because he resigned and informed CIC.
Someone advised me to hang in at my current place of work but the truth is the working condition is terrible and depressing. Getting up to three years work experience is what motivated me to stay on the job this long and considering there is no fixed duration of PR processing, I wouldn't really want to keep living like this.
I wouldn't want to complicate my application and that's why I am here to ask for advice. Thank you all. There's no consequence abeg. Please quit that toxic environment |

goodlife2018: Hello, respected seniors in the house. I need urgent response. My sibling is a Canadian Citizen and we don't get along in anyway humanely possible, because of this I did not declare him in our EE profile and he did same too before he became Canadian Citizen by not declaring me as sibling too, but went ahead to declare my other siblings. Now I want to understand would there be a misrepresentation for not declaring him in our EE profile as we have received ITA in the last draw without claiming sibling points. (My wife is the primary applicant) and I am non-accompanying spouse for now owing to a big project I am handling. Family of 4. All other documents are ready for submission and wait for upfront medical. He didn't declare you, you didn't declare him, QED! Just out of curiosity, why unaccompanied? You can apply as accompanying and still come back to finish your project 9 Likes |

My first attempt in this relocation dream was exactly 10 years ago, My mother had filed for me - she was in the US, I can remember going to the US embassy several times, did medicals, DNA and a whole bunch of other stuffs.. I was eventually denied, Oh God! Devastated was an understatement.
Please house. We submitted our passport yesterday, I thought it reflects on ones CIC account Wow what a triumph!! You definitely have an angel watching over you. Congratulations! No, passport submission doesn't reflect online. In about two weeks, it will reflect (after the approval) |

But to my surprise, their response came with a PPR message yesterday morning, while asking me to submit my baby’s birth certificate for her own application. Later last night I discovered that my profile has been opened and they have sent the details of what I need to upload for her own application to be added. Good for us, we have done her international passport, birth cert and medicals. All documents are reading for uploading. However, I am a lil bit confused, should we still go ahead to our passport including our new baby’s own as demanded by the PPR letter. The letter states that all passport must be submitted on or before May 1st. Happy people in the house, please kindly assist with evidence based information to guide us through this stage@ifeoma, joo20.18, newmum etc etc It came when I least expect it, I Pray that for those that are still on the waiting line, the LORD WILL SURPRISE YOU. las las, all of us go entry Cannyland in style. I submitted payslips (Aug,sept, oct 2018) to support the proof of my employment history. In the payslip my net pay is say 142 naira in all the 3 months collected, but in my bank account statement I have varying figures of 143 naira, 145 naira and 142 naira. Although the bank statement showing proof of funds at AOR does not show the months in question, I am worried that when a famous 5 ADR is requested by accra my salary account statements for the months in question might not tally with the payslips I submitted initially. Trying to avoid misrepresentation
Do I raise a cse to submit the corrected payslips or wait for the ADR and correct it then?
I hope you understand now
It's a non-issue. But if it makes you feel better, then raise CSE and submit the corrected payslip. If I was in your place, I'll do nothing Stop worrying abeg 3 Likes |

Do I get the corrected payslips and raise a cse?

temmythorpee: Good morning seniors in the house. I have actually been a silent reader and i thank everyone for the wealth of information and experience shared here. I have gotten ITA since March and i hope to submit my application soonest.
I will like your inputs on my choosen NOC ASAP before i finally submit this thing. I work in a school and i picked NOC 2121 because i studied Microbiology.... Here is my job description

Has over 5 years experience in WAEC marking
Thank you.
What I'm about to write is my opinion; You're a biology/practical biology teacher in a secondary school right? I think you should stick to the NOC for teachers. You've done a good job constructing your job duties and yet it doesn't look convincing enough that you fit into 2121. From your duties; I don't agree that you "...conduct basic and applied research to extend knowledge of living organisms, to manage natural resources, and to develop new practices and products related to medicine and agriculture". In my opinion, that NOC provides for people who are carrying out groundbreaking research, discovering new things about plants and animals and using that knowledge to innovate. This isn't what you're doing right now, and even though you carefully erased all mention of classroom teaching, I don't think you'll fool the VO. NOC 4031 provides for secondary school teachers and biology teacher is listed there plain as day. One of the duties is to "Teach students using a systematic plan of lectures, discussions, audio-visual presentations, and laboratory, shop and field studies". This is what you should be sticking with for your EE application. You can get creative with your CV when you get to Canada but right now, you're flirting with a refusal. Again, this is my opinion and in NOC matters, I'm not an expert so feel free to discard it if you're not convinced. 23 Likes |

You can look at the federal skilled trades section. "This trade is on the list of eligible trades for IRCC’s FSTP.
If you intend to immigrate to Canada under this program, one of the requirements is to have a confirmed employment offer or, particularly if you are already in Canada on a temporary basis, to obtain a certificate of qualification in that skilled trade issued by a provincial or territorial authority."https://www.cicic.ca/938/bakers.canada?id=274Basically, FSW is far easier 1 Like 1 Share |

Pls dont ignore this message biko This is a destiny decision for me o. I am ready to register for IELTS, so you guys are gonna be seeing me here often. I will not let you guys go until I get PPR o. I have only Bsc and a vocational certificate. Hubby has 2or more certificates in Engineering but has only worked in a religious organization as a clergy. What are our chances?
