Jarus, Ifyalways, OAM4J and r231 - great job and well done.

Well done also to everybody that has contributed.

The idea of the shop for the family is great. But I'd like to suggest that Mrs. Obuh be in charge of the shop while we work on getting Mr. Obuh a job (even if it's a handy man kind of job). That way the family will not be restricted to only one source of income.
We initially thought along the same line but paused cos. . .Mrs Obuh is "not too fit"(not pregnancy) to handle the shop. She alone cannot man or handle the shop.
The hubby said she has hearing issues, moreso she aint the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to counting or handling money.
So the husby mans the shop fully while mrs takes care of the homefront and assist too.We can however look into enrolling her as an apprentice to learn something else like cake making, tailoring, hair dressing . . .that is,if she would be interested.

Update. . .

We've got a carpenter to start work on the shop.We are getting them a :
Shelf/Counter
A big table
A smaller table with 2 steps
A bench
A flat board(for hanging of padlocks for sale)
Carpenter has been given part payment to get the materials so work starts tomorrow by 10am.Mr Obuh would be there full time while I and Olowotee wud pop in at different times to check on them.

Our initial plans(we and the Obuh's) was a 'provision store and small building materials' but having got the shop and studied the area(they were like 3 provision stores around already),the Obuhs suggested shifting to something else, which has low competition(in the area),high profit margin and turnover. . .raw foodstuffs ie amala flour, rice, beans, garri, ground nut etc, pure water(wholesale and retail),padlocks, exercise books, biscuits and co.

We hope to stock the shop on fridayand staurday.Carpenter, painting and washing takes morrow and thursday.Get a pastor to bless it(and the Obuhs) on sunday, declare it open on monday.

How old is your present relationship?

Have your present guy ever talked marriage with you, where is the relationship heading?

What led to the break-up with your ex?

How old are you and both guys?

To answer your question,IMO it's safer to marry the one who loves you more than you do.

@All,We have to buy every single thing as the Obuh's moved in with just a piece of clothing each.

You dont furnish a house in a day so we keep picking things gradually as we go.On monday,we'd be getting some clothes and a sandal for Mr Obuh,we already have clothes donation for the wife. . .more still welcome though.

Same Monday,we would be concentrating on getting a shop for them.

God bless all that have contributed money, time, moral support and prayers .

A very big thank you to everyone of us.We all made this happen.

OP,Please go back to ya Papa and go learn "Fatherhood 101 and model husband 202". You failed woefully! Financial insecurity, dishonesty, lost trust and vote of no confidence over what and how much ?Comot for road first.

How did you find out that she's been inflating the prices?and if you are in 9ja beware, prizes of goods vary per second according to location, demand and supply.

Go ask your momma if your dada ever gave her money for crayfish,peri-winkle,iru ati all the lil'but very important condiments. She improvised, over priced the fish and garri so she'd be able to buy her maggi ati iru.Real Men never pay attention to details, that is women affairs.

This would have been worth the noise if say you gave your wifey 1000 to pay into your acct, she paid in 700 and kept the rest for herself without informing you before or after.

OP,should go home and apologise with a massive 3r3ction to his wife.

@Nri,I have been to Nteje and its pretty much same . . .all the way to Anam.

Are we missing the shrines and messengers of chukwu okike?I think not! Our brothers pay and import preachers who claim that the shrines our fathers served are "direct links to generational curses and sources of failure" hence they should be burnt, wiped and cast out.

The few shrines left are either serving themselves or dashed out to churches(large expanse of land for Free,WOW).Little wonder God is white, satan is black.
