One more thing,that incident of 2 years ago. . .you need to forgive him wholly and move on.And please hope the reconcilation did not come cos you made all the sacrifices?It would only be temporal cos as human,theres but a limit to what u can take.If u guys meet each other half way,forgave each other and made sacrifices for each other then i forsee an endless happy home.

@Afam4ever and Radiant,I understand where you guys are coming from in regards to giving Mr Obuh every dime raised for him but i've got to say this:

As it is now,the Obuh's family is good to go and have everything they need to make a success out of their lives.What happens or would it amount to anything to hand them raw cash and watch them mis-manage it?We have not washed our hands off them,we'd be monitoring them and ready to offer them the big brother lending hands when needed in future.We can't baby feed the Obuhs forever,it won't even help them,now is the time for Monday to rise as a man and take care of his family,that way he'd learn to be responsible.

I still suggest that we look for another family/individual that we can help build.The challenge has been thrown open(not for NGO'S) to every nlder to bring forward any geniue case of someone/family that are in dire need.Rather than keeping money(the bal from the Obuh's) we can as well help uplift another family.

I also don't support donating to NGO's.Most of the funds don't get to the people its meant for.Even the most careful and honest of NGO's still report cases of fund misappropriation.Been working with littel saints Orphange for almost 7 years now,careful as the founder and exco are,we still have cases of nannies etc misbahving and little saints is one of the most credible Orphanges around this parts,existed for 13 years now with some of their children already graduates and working.

@OP,Speaking as a Nigerian,I'd say:
Your presence alone shows you care.

Stand solidly with ur husband,support him,ask him how you'd be of help.

If you have SIL's,MIL and you guys share a cordial relationship,stay close and tag along with them.ask them questions too,don't be too pushy,loud or try to show them that you know it all even when they say or do things u "think" does not make sense.

Lastly,don't forget to put on your aso-ebi.ask your husband abt that.

Odunnu has done justice to the topic.I married at 23 and have NO regrets whatsoever.

Some of the reasons why marriages fail IMO are:
People don't look well before saying "I do". So many important qualities are not sought for or taken for granted while superficial things and things bound to fade(beauty,booobs size) are made top priority.
People assume that just love is enough to make a marriage work while in reality love can take you through some years but other things like mutual and self respect for self and partner,communication and tolerance would take you all the way to the end.

We got the Obuh's more wares for their shop today and a little radio to keep him company,he says he loves listening to radio.

Monday Obuh can read and write very well and even speaks passable French.They are settled now,we got them more foodstuffs(for house) yesterday,paid the little boys 2 years(KG1 and KG 2) full school fees,took them to hospital where the wife was registered and they all got multivitamins and iron drugs and also got the boy school kit(shoes,sandal,socks,bag etc) and also gave cash to Mr Obuh(5,000) and Mrs Obuh(3000)

Many thanks to everyone that contributed in cash and kind,the Obuhs are very grateful.May God replenish our pockets and give the Obuhs grace and wisdom to manage their shop and lives.We'd keep checking on them from time to time.

First off "love" is NOT the most important quality for marriage.Anyone still waiting for the fairy tale love that would sweep him/her off is not yet ready to marry.There are lot more to successful marriage than love.
