PHijo:In which town in SE are these Bini speaking people found. ![]() |
SensetionalGoal:How will he leave Igbos alone when IPOB keep dragging them into Biafra? |
Ogbuu101:It doesn't work that way. Ikwerre has an apex sociopolitical body called Ogbako Ikwerre while. Ekpeye has Usama Ekpeye. Both bodies represent the aspirations of majority of all Ekpeye people/Ikwerre people and their decision is bidding on all Ekpeye people. Usama Ekpeye maintains that Ekpeye are independent ethnic group, likewise Ogbakor Ikwerre for Ikwerre. You have to represent their decision, which represents the decision of the majority of their people. The likes of Amaechi and Nwuche Chibudom are swimming in ocean all alone. |
Ogbuu101:She is from Ekpeye . Ahoada East LGA of Rivers state. They use to be proud Igbos before the war. But we all know the post civil war identity crisis that engulfed those parts. Though Chibudom Nwuche from Ekpeye like Francis Ellah from Ogba remained Igbo post civil war. Their people back home are mostly Igbophobic. Chibudom Nwuche in particular has always identified with Ohanaeze Ndiigbo. So yes! For all intents and purposes, Ekpeye is not Igbo today. The Ikwerre and Ogba have done a good job in making them to imbibe their Igbophobic sentiments. |
12. “That there should be modern streetlight in Onitsha, and not Calabar, was also quoted as example of discrimination; it proved however that Onitsha Urban District Council had financed this measure from their own resources.”The above was one of the many complaints the minorities brought to Willink commission as evidence of Igbos marginalizing them. Onitsha business community contributed money and taxed themselves to build a street light in the city. Then suddenly someone in Calabar, rather than tax themselves and build one for themselves, immediately starts feeling marginalized. Never mind that other Igbo towns couldn't afford such streetlights and didn't have it. The reasoning of a minority: Why should there be street light in Onitsha and non in Calabar. He isn't interested on how the street light in Onitsha came about, he is already feeling marginalized by Igbos, and is already full of bitterness. The only way you can appease him for a while before he jumps on another reason to justify his Igbophobia is to double tax Onitsha people and build a street light for him too. And oh! How long do you think it would be before the Ijaw start wondering why Yenegoa don't have street light? Is this the type of mundane draw backs you want in your new country? Can IPOB and their Oga KANU tell me one advantage of multiethnic Biafra with Minorities offers Ndiigbo? What's the point of leaving Nigeria if you are going to end up in a worst multi ethnic union with these groups? |
It is better for our Igbo brothers to learn humilityWhen you listen to minorities post civil war doctored histories and narratives about Biafra. You get the impression that Ndiigbo forced them into Biafra. All evidence of their willful involvement are usually erased and Ndiigbo are presented as the big bad wolf that forced them into Biafra. You hear obnoxious stories of Igbos not consulting them, and other slanderous statements. Even when we know that Ndiigbo did get all important political and traditional rulers in those places involved and indeed carried them along. Frank Opigo for instance was a high chief from Yenegoa and was involved in all deliberations, so much that it was he who suggested the name Biafra which other members of Eastern region consultative assembly accepted. It took Ijaws looking for Igbo support in 2011 for GEJ presidential ambitions for Asari Dokubo to open up on the above truth we had always known. He admitted the Amanyanabo of Buguma was carried along and was a Biafran until Biafra started losing and many minorities decamped, so the king came under intense pressure to switch loyalty which he refused and had to abdicate his throne. Yet it took wanting Igbo votes for an Ijaw man for Dokubo to say the Truth. If there was no GEJ, he would know the truth but keep it hidden while they raise their children with falsehoods towards Ndiigbo. When Nnamdi KANU out of his myopia started romancing with Dokubo and Aniko Briggs on Biafra. I raised alarm because I knew those people well, and his IPOB members declared me an Afonja. Today we know how IPOB and Ijaw(Dokubo and Briggs) romance built on folly ended with Ndiigbo left with eggs on our faces. Ndi IPOB, Ndi Eze onye agwanam, Ihe aga eme mmadu ugboro ole tupu omara ihe? I belong to Ijaw social media platforms and the kind of hate towards any thing Igbo I see from the people there, not even Yorubas can do such. This is why i get really furious when Nnamdi KANU and his hordes of supporters go about this their multiethnic Biafra, I feel like they are foolish and out of touch with reality. No sensible Igbo should want to share a country with minorities. Such a country will be a toxic one and would veer off into chaos and backwardness like Nigeria. It would even be worst than Nigeria, it's madness for any Igbo to be proposing a multiethnic Biafra with the wealth of info we have on our hands today. Such persons need a mental examination. They are mentally deranged and Ndiigbo would need to cage such persons for our survival as a group. |
The unprecedented mingling of all groups and settling of many minority people in the Ibo heartland during the course of the war was simply taken for granted. Nonetheless, the Biafran regime was unreservedly committed to plebiscites in any disputed areas within Biafra, or on borders, so that people involved could determine their allegiance. It was proposed that these plebiscites be conducted under international( UN or O.A.U)supervision, and with adequate safeguard against punitive retaliationAt no point were the minorities held in Biafra against their own wish. Ojukwu was always open to a UN supervised plebiscite in minority areas of Biafra, to prove to the world that the minorities were not being held against their own will. Gowon and Yoruba media propaganda knowing that the outcome of such plebiscite wouldn't favor Nigeria, rejected the offer. Biafra was a joint venture of all Eastern groups. Everyone was involved. Kogbara,an Ogoni man was Biafra foreign affair minister in UK, Opigo from Yenegoa was an Ijaw chief who suggested the name Biafra during Eastern region consultative assembly meetings, Opigo was also the Administrator of Yenegoa province of Biafra. We have the likes of Mbu, prof Bassey, etc, all playing prominent roles. Okonkon Ndem who MNK is mimicking today with his Radio Biafra, was from Akwa cross too and played vital role. Rex Lawson an Ijaw man helped too. It is true that Failure is an Orphan, so immediately Biafra started losing, many minorities jumped ship and left Ndiigbo to deal with the aftermath of Biafra, they also went about doctoring the history of their involvement in Biafra effort to present themselves as a people held hostage by Ndiigbo during Biafra and not as willing partners in the Biafra struggle in other to warm their way to the hearts of the Yoruba/Arewa led new Nigeria. This to me is a betrayal that no Igbo should ever forget. The above is also why I insist that Biafra must not have non Igbo clans in it ever again. In fact I hate any Igbo that suggest having minorities in future Biafra. It depicts lack of knowledge of our history and disregard of the injury multiethnic Biafra inflicted on Ndiigbo and is capable of inflicting in the future. A nation is only as strong as the loyalty and unalloyed patroitisn of its constituent groups, the minorities are a liability as far as building a strong impregnable Biafra is concerned. Those including them in Biafra don't mean well for Ndiigbo. |
..... Even with the fall of Enugu, there was no widespread uprising by the minorities against General Ojukwu, although he would hardly have had sufficient troops to fight the war and hold down five million people" . K.W.J Post. January 26 , international Affairs. |

It freed the Eastern smaller non Igbo groups from the Ijaw and Ibibio/Annang/Efik " domination" by giving them new provinces away from those two bigger non-Igbo groups. These arrangements were made by the people, the Eastern consultative assembly, not some greedy Odua-Arewa people licking their lips over the Eastern region oil wealth. Here is the Willink report for those that want to go through it again. http://scannewsnigeria.com/news/willink-report-1958-the-following-are-excerpts-from-a-the-report-of-the-commission-appointed-to-enquire-into-the-fears-of-minorities-and-the-means-of-allaying-them-otherwise-known-a/ [/b] |
"In an authoritative and detailed memorandum on the background, cause and consequences of the Nigerian civil war issued in November 1968 by more than sixty British subjects, including Sir Robert Stapleton, the last British governor of the Eastern region( 1959-60), it was concluded that of the 37 percent of the population which they estimated that minority group represented in Biafra, only 10% would favour continued association with the federal government". The. New York review of Books, Volume 14,Number 8. April 23, 1970 To clear the doubt about the propaganda of Yoruba led Nigerian press that Ndiigbo forced Minorities into Biafra. |

ijawcitizen:This Bayelsa man. As an Igbo I don't really care about you minorities. You are not important to me. I only stated my observation. You can't be talking of unity with Akwa/Cross when you are busy claiming their lands in Andoni, Eastern Obolo and Ibeno. It doesn't make sense to me,and I sincerely don't see how both of you can co exist in same country post Nigeria. And No. I don't want Ndiigbo to share country with any minority clan including those in Akwa Cross. I'm only interested in those few Igbo speaking Ndoki villages in Akwa Ibom and the Isobo clan in Cross River who are Igbo speaking. If you are not speaking Igbo as first language, you shouldn't be welcomed in Igbo republic, its that simple. Even Nnamdi KANU and IPOB know that Biafra should be an Igbo only country. You know this when you watch/listen to his broadcasts and see/hear him switch from English to Igbo language to pass across his message. He knows deep inside him that he is transmitting to Igbo audience and not to a multi ethnic audience. I have never seen him broadcast in Ogoni, Ibibio, Ijaw or any minority language he is lumping into Biafra. The claim of multi ethnic Biafra by IPOB and MNK to me, is a case of cognitive dissonance. Biafra is and WILL be an Igbo only country. Any attempt to make Biafra a tower of Babel by incorporating minorities into it, will result in many rational Igbos including myself dropping my support. After the hellish Nigerian experience, Ndiigbo deserve a true functional organic nation. Not another Babelian country with myriads of irreconcilable ethnicities. Chukwu aju! |
Logan23:iSlayer, Osagyefo, Bkayy(he cloned the moniker of the original Bkay), are all one and same person. |
iSlayer:It's not same when it becomes the lingual franca of an independent Igbo republic. |
iSlayer:It will, but people who use them will be considered not so polished. Like English people who don't speak Queen's English are considered in England or Germans not being able to use Hochdeutsch are considered in Germany. Ability to write and communicate in Igbo Izugbe will be seen as symbol of social class. |
iSlayer:What'd Utopic about an Igbo republic having Igbo language as its lingua franca? Maybe you suffer from inferiority complex. |
OP. Biafra will not break post Nigeria. Biafra is a country made up of Igbo only. If you mean IPOB multi ethnic Biafra where they delusionally include minorities, then I can assure you that such Biafra doesn't exist and therefore, cannot break since it doesn't exist. It only exists in the mind of Nnamdi KANU and his IPOB members. It doesn't exist in reality and no rational Igbo man wants such anomaly to exist. Niger Delta republic? Well that one doesn't exist too. The only Niger Delta republic that will exist is the same one Adaka Boro wanted. A Niger Delta republic that involves only Ijaw people. Anything else will be pipe dream. |
BKayy:Wike wife is from Ekpeye. Its Amaechi and Odili that married from Igbo land. |
htdot:Relocate as in how? The land belongs to them. South South and South West are all artificial creations. They will be dissolved and groups who don't want to remain there will have their land removed from the map and added to the map of the region they want to be part of. ![]() |
IDENNAA:All local speech form will be eased off for Igbo Izugbe in republic of Igbo land. It wouldn't be forced, but done subtly. For example, Igbo Izugbe will be the language of government business and deliberations in the senate. Olundi will not be accepted. Igbo Izugbe will also be language of all official business transactions, like banking, etc. It would also be Language of instruction in schools from nursery to University level. So yeah, no one will force you to drop your local dialect, but you would soon realize you need Igbo Izugbe like a human needs air to survive. Literacy and intelligence will be measured by ability to speak and write impeccable Izugbe, while illiterates will be those who can only speak Olundi. ![]() |
Ekealterego:I'm very much aware. I know all his monikers. ![]() Just toying with him. |
cheruv:Why do you want a multi ethnic Biafra? Of what advantage would a multi ethnic Biafra offer Ndiigbo? After Nigeria failed multi ethnic nation building , why would you want to do another with Minorities? Do you not know that you would be forced to keep making concessions to minorities in bid to keep them happy until you choke Ndiigbo to death? Zik did same with North. In bid to keep Nigeria united he kept making concessions to the North until Ndiigbo were in a cage. Snap out of it already. Only a monoethnic Igbo country will do. Let the minorities be. |
IDENNAA:There is harmonization towards "Anambra dialect" in entire Anambra state. I have a relation from Owelle-Ezukala in Orumba South . Ordinarily, Owelle Ezukalla use Okereke in the past, but recently, they have switched to bearing Okeke to key into the "Anambra harmonization" . I wouldn't be surprised if any Ora related name in Ekwulobia is but a new switch from Oha to Ora in the spirit of "Anambra dialect". I know a village in Ekwulobia called "IhuOkpala", why is not IruOkpala? |
Juliusmalema:Does Oliver really sing in his local dialect? I think he sang more with centralized Anambra dialect which is more or less a hybrid of Idemili-Onitsha-Dunukofia-Njikoka dialects. Its like using Ali Chukwuma songs to claim that he was singing in local Aboh dialect. When everyone knew he was singing in a diluted Aboh dialect with too many Izugbe words to make his music marketable to entire Igbo clans. Olundi only serves as tool of disunity. It would have to be deemphasized while Izugbe would be updated and enriched more and thereafter entrenched to replace Olundi in every part of Igbo land. ![]() |
IDENNAA:All dialects would have to be sacrificed for Igbo unity in republic of Igbo land. Ora in Ekwuluobia? I doubt. |
Juliusmalema:Yes! Nnewi North use Ora. But many towns in Nnewi South, Aguata, Orumba South, Orumba north, use Oha! The point is that Oha is Izugbe and more widespread, while Ora is Olundi and restricted to Enuani and Anambra. And yes! Your Igbo paternity is in question. ![]() |
Juliusmalema:If you were Igbo. You would have known that Ohanaeze is more balanced than Oraneze. Aguata, Orumba South and Orumba North in Anambra use Oha. The whole IMO and Abia, Enugu and Ebonyi use Oha. While Anambra central and North, as well as Enuani use Ora. Ndokwa/Ukwuani use Osa. Etche Ikwerre, Ndoki, ASA use Oha. The Ezza clan in Benue, Umuezekoha also use Oha. From the foregoing, it is obvious that at least 4/5 of Igbo speaking people use Oha. |
Ahamefuna0001:Anioma is already claimed by Delta North, many of who are suffering from Bini induced ethnic crisis. Someone already suggested "Ikenga Republic", I like the suggestion and think we should consider it. |
