XANDERO85 :

I’m with Rugaria on this!

What we see happening is the vocal and ‘empowered’ minority from these groups making the loudest noise and who presently are the ones holding the microphone as it were and claiming to speak for the entire group!
Nope. Igbo denials and Igbophobia in Ekpeye, Ikwerre, Etche, Ndokwa, Ika, Ogba are not vocal minorities as you put it. You are simply playing the ostrich here.
The reality on ground is that official bodies of these groups who have representatives from their traditional rulers and influential people, like Uzugbani Ekepeye,Onu Ika, Ogbakor Ikwerre, etc, all maintain they are not Igbos and are rather very hostile in pushing this their non Igbo agenda usually built around Bini migration story.
Any honest Igbo man who has been to places like Agbor, Omoku, Ahoada, and Rumu villages in Obio Akpor will tell you how standoffish these people become when you try to call them Igbo or refer to them as your brother as an Igbo man from SE.
You can also visit Facebook pages of these groups and type "Igbo" or Biafra, to see the forms of hateful negative opinions these people harbour for Ndiigbo.

People like you who are not interested in the bitter truth but more invested in spreading rosy falsehoods are not doing Ndiigbo any good.
The bitter truth remains that MAJORITY of the people from these places are Igbophobic.

I also understand the sentiments of Igbos that have the attitude of...’if you speak Igbo; have Igbo names; have Igbo culture and traditions; and your parents had no history pre-1967 of denying their Igboness, yet you stand up today to declare you’re not Igbo.....then you can fuc’k off!’ shocked I understand where they’re coming from!
No you don't understand us. If you do you wouldn't be here defending these Igbophobes.

We need to understand exactly what’s going on here! There is a script written in the late 60s by the main Igbo haters who fought us during the uncivil war and who still see us as a threat and a thorn in their flesh! This script is what is being played out here, and its stated aim is to reduce Igbo territory; as much as possible deny us the benefit of the hydrocarbons found within our territory by either slicing off these oil & gas rich parts and placing them in none homogeneously Igbo states, and then getting the likes of Ogba and Ikwerre to deny their Igboness....or by ignoring as much as possible the deposits they leave behind with crafty and wicked legislations like requirement of ‘commercial viability’, etc; and finally trying to deny us access to the sea! This script is driven by pure hate and envy; coveting of our resources; and the desire to keep ‘one Nigeria’ patched up together....even if it’s with just tape and bandages! Notice how the usual Igbo haters are getting a stiff boner hearing Wike deny being Igbo, even when just a few weeks ago they couldn’t stand the sight of him and would have gladly throttled him to death with their bare hands! shocked He’s now their darling and, as far as they’re concerned, the best thing since sliced bread! wink
Biko stop defending the indefensible.
These groups are responsible for their Igbophobia. No Hausa or Yoruba man forced them to be Igbophobic. They chose to be Igbophobic for whatever reasons best known to them and must be held responsible for their Igbophobia.
The very idea of blaming Ijaws, Yorubas, North, etc for these groups actions is very irrational.
They chose not to be Igbo and we must handle them as none Igbos ,including making sure we return their hate towards hundreds folds until we all learn to respect each other and ensuring no member from such groups be allowed into Igbo gatherings within or outside Nigeria.

A referendum would have settled this and many other intractable issues, but we know why ‘one Nigerianists’ and Igbo deniers like Wike don’t want one....because the unpopular position they hold which they claim is the majority sentiment amongst their people will be exposed for the lie it actually is!
Some of us seem not to understand the meaning of referendum. Referendum is not what you call for a people you are not part of.
These people never told you they need any referendum. The opinion of majority of Ikwerre people is well articulated by Ogbakor Ikwerre and Wike, if you are in doubt, visit Ikwerre villages and sample opinion by calling them Igbo and see if you come back alive.
Enough if this self delusions.

Unlike some of my kinfolk on here, i’m not angry with the Ikwerre as a group, but i’m all for the suggestion that Ohaneze should force their hand by asking the leadership of these groups to once and for ever take a definite stand on their ethnicity so we know who is who! This would be best for all parties involved! smiley[
Non of us are angry with Ikwerre. We are only angry at our failure as a people as represented by how thoughtless Ohanaeze Ndiigbo is as to allow people from Igbophobic groups to not only be member of our apex organization, but to defile our inner chambers by having persons from these groups handle top positions in the organization.
We are angry that Ohanaeze Ndiigbo has not been proactive in protecting the dignity of Igbo tag from vultures from these Igbophobic Bini Igboids, we are angry that the Igbo tag has been rendered worthless that IkwerreBinis like Amaechi can wake up one morning to start claiming Igbo and then going back to his default Igbohating Ikwerre mode the next day.

We are demanding that Ohanaeze Ndiigbo put some dignity on the Igbo tag by officially expelling the likes of Ikwerre from the group and barring members from such groups from claiming Igbo.

Read my post carefully and you’ll see that I’m only worried about this constant wailing. Your thread always aims at finding a solution in matter that concerns the Igbo nation and I like that. But let's say the truth, will it solve anything. Do Ohaneze-Ndigbo read comments on nairaland?

Assuming you form a front with a group of young pro-Igboist, and maybe wrote a communique to a national daily, then your voice will be heard. If you want us to form a staunch Igbo group, why not start from a Whatsapp group? There are a lot of reasonable Igbo youths, (not IPOB touts) who share your angst, let's parley together and use the newspaper platform to speak up to Ohaneze-Ndigbo. If you don't intend doing that, then it means you’re not serious about solving the problem. It's not about insulting Ohaneze, the SE Governors and other Igbo leaders, it goes beyond that. Make your voice heard through a reputable platform and if nothing is done, we march to Enugu seek the audience of the Igbo leaders and if possible contest elections into the Ime Obi.
Ohanaeze is not about the Ezes, it also include the Oha who actually comes first.
My target is the Igbo commoners.
I hope to through my posts open their minds to new perspectives that would trigger our people to ask critical questions and through such questions bring the Ezes to have a rethink.

Which Ohanaeze should I be sending letters to? The Ohanaeze with Ikwerre moles like Okwukwu uche and Igo Nwakamma and co sitting in their Imeobi?
How can a serious Jewish organization have Arabs who claim to be Israelis sitting in their inner chambers?
Does Ohanaeze as presently constituted strike you like a serious organization I should be wasting my Ink on?

Nnia Nwodo have Ikwerre moles sitting in their meetings in Enugu and they went to PH to see Wike, Ikwerre political leader who clearly spelt it out to them that he and his people are not Igbos. And Nwodo stood there shinning teeth.

Why do you guys always take your anger on Ohaneze? If you feel you can make your desired change then seek for election as President-General of the Igbo body. Stop this noise. If you continue with this noise, you’ll end up like a broken record.

It's complicated because you refuse to understand the underlying forces behind certain behavioral trends. It's not done like that! There are ikwerres and ikas who don't deny their roots but are led by federal imposed forces who determine their politics and who vehemently oppose igbo. You should allow them room to ventilate too. One shouldn't feel this frustrated because Wike is throwing tantrums or because some folks are acting strange. Things changed after the war, you can't get frustrated with that because some of these groups followed this route for survival when the Igbo couldn't do much for them.
People like you with the above thought process are part of the problem and have created the fertile ground for these groups to be ridiculing Ndiigbo.

Group politics is all about numbers. If a majority of a people chose an option. The entire members of such group must fall in line.

Just as few Igbos for whatever selfish reasons wanting One Nigeria, does not change the fact that the majority of Igbos want Biafra.

Ikwerre is not Igbo. If few of them who claim Igbo think otherwise, then its left for them to go home to convert the majority of their people to their side. Until they do so, we should classify them same as their people.

This isn't complex. Its simple. People like you are only making it appear complex. It isn't.
Politics › Re: Why Ohanaeze Ndiigbo Must Restructure Itself by Igboid(op):
EXPLANATION OF MEASURES

I have heard misguided Igbos especially IPOBS claim that because a few people from these Igbo speaking communities outside SE accept Igbo tag, we must therefore accept them and their majority Igbophobic people back home as Igbos. Such perons are quick to tell you that because Uche Okwukwu accepts his Igbo tag,the majority of his people back home who are Igbophobic must be regarded as Igbos.

That's a very ignorant view to have and not how group economics and politics work.

The very idea of forming an ethinic group or any group whatsoever is to consolidate advantages within the group and make sure those outside the group are deprived of such advantages.
You make a caricature of the Igbo Union if an Ikwerre man whose people are Igbophobic can easily claim Igbo and gain advantage reserved for real Igbos when you know he is but an opportunist who would in time have to fall in line with his Igbophobic people back home, because let's face it, a man will always belong to his people.

In group politics, the will of the majority must be applicable to all members of that group. The very idea that an Ikwerre individual can be Igbo while his official traditional leaders, Ogbakor Ikwerre, and majority of his people back home remain Binis is irrational and any Igbo who promote this illogicality is not a wise person and needs to do some deep retrospective thinking. Such thought process is harmful to Igbo general wellbeing in Nigeria and must be discarded.

For example. The British voted to leave EU not long ago. Despite the fact that up to 48% of the British voted to remain in EU, the Will of the more than 51% who voted to leave EU stands. And because of this, EU as led by France and Germany will not allow any British nationality regardless of whether such British voted against Brexit and still consider themselves part Europe, access to privileges allowed to bona fide members of EU.
Such pro EU British citizens will receive exactly same treatment from EU leaders as anti EU British citizens.
One must be for all and all must be for one. That's how you keep a group free from opportunists, maintain its integrity and keep it attractive to its members and outsiders.
Politics › Re: Why Ohanaeze Ndiigbo Must Restructure Itself by Igboid(op):
THE WAY FORWARD

1. Ohanaeze Ndiigbo must restrict the Igbo tag to just communities within SE and expel persons outside SE in their midst. This should be communicated to general public via a published notice on dailies.

2. Any Igbo speaking community/town outside SE that want to be a member the organization must submit a request letter through their traditional leader where they would clearly reaffirm their Igbo identity and belief in Igbo Unity project. A copy of this letter should be stamped with necessary signatories and printed in major news dailies.

3. Persons from outside SE whose community didn't submit interest to be a member of Ohanaeze Ndiigbo will forfeit rights to claim Igbo and must never be admitted in any Igbo organization within or outside Nigeria. Those of them already in Igbo organizations must be discarded or only enlisted as honorary members who must not be part of inner caucus or secret chambers of such organization and must not hold any executive post.

4. A new map and division of the organization into regions should be produced after taking cognizance of communities outside SE that indicated interest to join.
Politics › Why Ohanaeze Ndiigbo Must Restructure Itself by Igboid(op):
Its no longer news that Ohanaeze Ndiigbo is one the most vocal voices in calling for restructuring of Nigeria. While this is a good call, judgement however must start from home. Ohanaeze must first put It's house in order before it can start wading into national issues. Not doing so is akin to a man whose house is on fire chasing a rat.

Ohanaeze replaced Igbo Union after the civil war and simply continued from where the later stopped like nothing changed, when in truth the definition of who is Igbo and who wasn't had changed post 1970.
Ohanaeze currently recognize groups such as Ikwerre, Ogba,Ndokwa,Ika, Ekpeye who has since distanced themselves from the Igbo tag since post civil, as Igbo. What this means is that Ohanaeze Ndiigbo is an organization living in the past and who are not up to date with modern realties.

The fall out of this is that dubious persons from the above mentioned groups can claim Igbo and take slots reserved for Igbos in national politics while denying Igbo when doing so portends being left with a short end of the stick.

It also lead to national embarrassment and present Ndiigbo as a spoilt brand or land grabbers when members from the above mentioned groups go on to denounce their Igbo tag, leaving Ndiigbo with eggs on our faces and presenting us as a people desperate for forced association with these groups who in reality have nothing to offer us as a people.

It is now left with people Obio\Akpor LGA to dispute if they are not Igbo as Wike had publicly said. Rebisi people have already indicated they not Ikwerre and not part of the shenanigans some Ikwerre peeps tend to chase.
I wonder what other reply some of us are expecting from Ikwerres.
Obio/Akpor people have representatives in Ogbakor Ikwerre and we know the official position of Ogbakor Ikwerre on Ikwerre identity. Its a Biniphilic one.

I'm ashamed with some of our people on how we have handled this issue.

Normally Ohanaeze Ndiigbo should have since released official public message denouncing Ikwerre and follow it up with sacking all the Ikwerre leeches in Ohanaeze Ndiigbo, and then warning the Nigerian public that any Ikwerre claiming Igbo are committing impersonation.

Ikwerre not being Igbo all depends on the Ikwerre you meet. An Ikwerre man and former Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, will tell the whole world that he is an Igbo ma. Another Ikwerre Governor like Wike will say he not Igbo

Meanwhile, an Ikwerre msn called Uche Okwukwu is Ohanaeze Secretary general while another Ikwerre man called Elechi Amadi wrote s book to say Ikwerres are not Igbos

Its for Ikwerres to go and sort out whatever ethnic crisis that has engulfed them
Don't get it confused

Uche Okwukwu and other opportunistic Ikwerres are all part of Ohanaeze Ndiigbo because Ohanaeze is a useless organization that is obsolete and not in sync with modernity which exactly why the organization has no grassroot support in Igbo land.

Even as UK pulled out of EU, if the EU leaders are stupid enough to make an opportunistic English man claiming to be anti Brexit the Secretary general of EU with the pay package and power that comes with it,do you think such British will decline? The answer is No.
But does EU making an English man the Secretary general of EU change the fact that the British back home have no interest in being part of EU.

That Uche Okwukwu an Ikwerre man is even allowed to be part of Ohanaeze let alone rise to post of Secretary general is a testament to how useless Ohanaeze Ndiigbo is as an organization.
No Ikwerre or any one whose majority of his people are Igbophobic should be part of Ohanaeze Ndiigbo if the organization is a serious one.

So you IPOB should stop quoting this Uche Okwukwu, because you are only underlying the failure of Igbo leadership as epitomized by Ohanaeze when you use Uche Okwukwu as example of Ikwerre being Igbo.

Only species capable of adapting quickly by growing physical and behavioral features that is compatible to the new prevailing environmental conditions of their habitat will grow and thrive.
Those who can't will be weeded out by natural selection.

The environment of the Igbo changed post civil war.
It doesn't matter what the previous conditions were, what matters is the present conditions.
And if we want to no longer survive, but thrive as a people, we must adapt features that will enable us do this.

Ikwerres are not Igbos, they are Bini people whose ancestors suffered permanent brain damage on their way to their current location.

But for that bolded part I must tell you Pazienza you're very very stupid for making that statement. You have completely lost your way from the earlier times here. Whether they are ipob or not they are proud Igbo people. You're very stupid for that statement and you're a disgrace to the common folk. In reverse, you're not different from Wike, justifying such atrocities by calling them ipob. You're not different from the SE governors who are disconnected from the people. You're not different from the Ohanaeze who went mum because it is supposedly ipob being killed. You're a disgrace and I spit on your name.
It is easy for you to say "ipob are being killed" because it is not your family member murdered in cold blood. The young Igbo woman in Obigbo about to get married, who was murdered in cold blood in her business place, was she ipob? The women and innocent bystanders killed in Emene last time, were they ipob? Tweh!
Actually I am more incensed than you that a Bini Ikwerre man is killing Igbo people in Obiigbo. And I actually want a revenge deep inside me.

I am so raged that my anger turned to apoplexy when I see senseless Igbos calling Wike or his Ikwerre people Igbos, its like pouring salt on an open wound.

IPOB puts the entire Igbo at risk because even though the group claims to be multiethnic, everyone else see and know them as Igbo.
What this means means is that mischievous non Igbo minorities can hide behind IPOB and commit crimes, while Innocent Igbos who are not even IPOB members will pay the price.

Multiethnic IPOB is a risk Ndiigbo cannot afford.
IPOB has to go.

Which tribe is Stella Odili from?
Stella Odili is an Igbo woman from IMO state who married a "Rivers man abi na Ocean man" called Peter Odili.
This should be common sense. Igbo women have always been high in demand since antiquity by non Igbo men because of their quality as marriage materials who carry the much envied Igbo genes many of this Igbophobic groups hate externally but desire in secret and want incorporated in their progeny, hence why they target Igbo women for marriage, abandoning their own women

If I tell you how many youths that lost their lives in Wike first tenure and still dying in his second tenure as governor in my tribe, you will marvel.
That's their cup of tea. Wike and his Ikwerre people are not Igbos.
I will bash the hell out of any senseless Igbo man that calls them Igbos and I will disgrace any dubious Ikwerre man that calls himself Igbo.

Igbo is a tag that should come with some pride and dignity. Those of us with pride and dignity will not allow senseless IPOB people and dubious Ikwerre people spoil it for us.
