BKayy: The guy is trying to trigger a ripple into igbo unity so as to bring the fragmented Igbo that will result into the fake "Nigeria". While at it, he maintains the balance in Yoruba and Hausa part. This shows his hypocrisy and hate for Igboland. He prefers an Apocalypse of Igboland to herd into Nigeria. This man represents the Nigerian hate for the Igbo nation. Go through all his posts Of course, the unity of Nigeria requires Igbo disunity to continue. Every One NIGERIANIST whether Igbo or none Igbo will have to work hard on chipping away at the foundations of Igbo unity. It's the deal breaker. |

Olu Falae was the choice of Yorubas while Obasanjo was the choice of the North and as usual, the Igbos supporter a northern agenda like they did since 1950s. Nice post shifting. Point is that both OBJ and Olu Falae were Yorubas. So why didn't one drop for the other? Falae even went to court after OBJ won to challenge results. Imagine an Igbo doing same to fellow Igbos? Abohboy: You don't need a majority culture to build the nation upon and even if you did Nigeria already has one if you observe the religions of all of the ethnic groups in Nigeria and even up to Ghana they're basically identical between the Yoruba, Igbo, Edo, Urhobo, Nupe, Igala, Jukun, Ijaw and even groups in the hausa there's a clear link especially in the name of the divination systems Ifa, Afa, Efa, Fa, Epha, etc so there's already a sort of cultural and religious unity between different ethnic groups in Nigeria and what Nigeria needs is to develop a Nigerian identity that is key to the progress of our nation unfortunately that cannot be achieved if Nigerians keep on voting by ethnicity and not by merit or competency
Creating ethnic states won't magically give people the ability to vote good leaders You need a uniting ideology usually belonging to the most dominant (populated) group to build a stable nation on. India has myriads of ethnicities, but is build on dominant Hindi culture. China is built on Han culture. This is usually how it is. Even an anomaly like USA( built on a conquered territory of indigenous Ameridian tribes) was built on a strong Anglo-Saxon-Christiianity-Masonic foundation which everyone else coming there must fit into. There are millions of Muslims in USA, but when you think USA, you think Christianity/Masonic. Nigeria has none. Afa of Ndiigbo has nothing to do with Ifa of Yorubas. We are a distinct people from Yorubas both in our world outlook and even appearance. We are nationally extreme capitalists while Yorubas favour socialism. We are predominantly Christians, while Yorubas are ambivalent between Islam and Xtianity. The Igbo are a Yes or No people. Yorubas hold unto their "grey answers" tightly and rebrand it as "suffersticated". We are Democratic and egalitarian in nature, Yorubas are Monarchical and hierarchical in nature. None of those characteristics are bad as they serve groups who possesses them well, they are just not miscible. And I have not even started talking about the Hausa-Fulanis. These are extremities of social behaviors that can never be reconciled within same geographical expression. Not even Zik, Awo or Balewa could do that when it was still a bit less complex. Insanity is repeating same mistakes over and over and expecting different results |

Anyways I think habits are very powerful, people hate change even when that change might be good for them and they would reverse back first chance they get, if IPOB were serious they would know that it would take Igbos atleast 5years to switch to a proper for meat
But since when did IPOB have sense? we'll wait for their 6months drama We have no problem with the North. No one is an Island. It's not like the Northern farmers would supply the corn for free. It's also for their own benefit, as their income will soar. |

I'm not saying that Nigeria should stay for a thousand years before getting it right, I'm only saying a thousand years is possible if you don't use the right approach, if you want Biafra it is fine but only the majority would decide that and you and I knows that the day the conduct a free and fair referendum in Nigeria, Biafra would loose
You know why, that they Nigeria would be confident enough to conduct a referendum it means that Nigeria had become great and majority would not want to leave a great Nigeria for the unkown that's my logic let's unify AlaIgbo and let those who want to make Nigeria a failed state continue, Biafrans are not the problem here once Nigeria fails we consolidate our own Republic but get involved in the fight and some terror would be inherited. You are deluded if you think Nigeria will win a referendum in Igboland. You need help. As you are so out of touch with reality. NIGERIA is not and has never been a nation. Maybe you need to recheck Oxford dictionary for the meaning of a NATION. NIGERIA will not get it right even for 1 billion years, there is no solid base to build a Nigerian unity on,as the constituent units are divergent and there is no outright majority culture/group to build the unity on. |

Jimasun: 1999 election was not left for Yorubas, it was left for Southerners to contest. Igbos contested for it but lots at the primary election. Please stop trying to rewrite history. It was left for Yorubas when unknown broke OBJ was brought from the prison where he was languishing and installed the PDP flag bearer by the Hausa-Fulani power brokers, against Ekwueme who was part of the founding members of the party and actually put in a lot of work to win party votes all over the country. OBJ win in 1999 PDP primaries was not his own making, has nothing to do with Yorubas as Yorubas didn't like him. He was made the party flag bearer by Hausa-Fulani power brokers in the sentiments that A Yoruba president was needed to bury the Abiola history and to reintegrate Yorubas into the country. This is important, because today Yorubas who were beneficiaries of benevolent politics as OBJ was in no way positioned to win Ekwueme without the powers that be recognizing need for reintegration, are today singing different song. When OBJ emerged the flag bearer at the detriment of a more educated and more worthy Ekwueme, Ekwueme congratulated him and asked Ndiigbo to support him. Which we did. But Yorubas still didn't back OBJ and Olu Falae representing AD would not step down for OBJ in the main elections. So where is the Unity if Olu Falae couldn't step down for OBJ? |

By the way I'm not against banning Hausa cows. I'm just saying they mustn't be replaced by Efi-Igbo. We can actually adopt and raise the Fulani cows ourselves or go for more cost effective exotic breeds abroad to import. Either way, I'm just not convinced that Efi-Igbo can effectively replace FULANI cows, just as Okuko Igbo can't replace Agric fowls. |

You didn't answer my question. Does the Efi-Igbo reach adulthood faaster than Hausa cow? Does it require less food to bring it to adulthood? I made example of Okuko Igbo and Agric fowl and why commercial poultry Farmers would never choose Okuko Igbo for such venture. Reason being that it consumes more food than Agric fowl to reach adulthood, and even at adulthood, provides lesser meat. So it isn't cost effective. |

okeyglm: Efi Igbo is very cost effective . though smaller in size but abundant meat inside. in Nkanu at Enugu it is choice meat for burial . Its very strong and resistant to disease. How long does it take to grow, how much food does it need to eat to grow. If same time and food is given to a different breed, would we have more meat or not? Those are questions a business man would eat to know. My understanding is that Efi-Igbo is to Hausa cow, what Okuko Igbo is to Agric. You and I know that no one will leave Agric fowl to start commercially breeding Okuko Igbo, because it is not cost effective. |

You are almost reinventing the wheel. So because China existed for thousand of years before now, NIGERIA needs thousands of years to get to where China currently is at, by which time China would be light years ahead of Nigeria. How old is Singapore? And by the way. China is an almost homogeneous country. They are 92% ethnic Chinese Han by composition. You can't compare China with a tower of Babel like NIGERIA. There is no lesson to learn with Nigeria. Nigerian is like a Frankenstein monster, a Babelian entity made up of ideologically divergent ethnicities. It will never work, unless the Fulani manage to conquer everyone and convert all to Islam, then we can all unite in Islam and on Fulani terms. This is perhaps what Britain is hoping for, Yoruba Muslims desire that as well, but we both know that the Igbo would rather commit suicide than let that happen. |

BKayy: Nigeria never united Ndigbo. First of all what you call Nigeria is the southern part of the present day Nigeria. The North was not addressed as such until the amalgamation.
Second of all, I notice that you are very keen on stiring what you think will disunite Ndigbo but you lack the historical knowledge to do so. Before the establishment of Nigeria, Onitsha struck deals with Obosi, Ogbunike etc not as people from separate nations but related people.
Thirdly, the unification of Igbo Language is not as you people put it. Infact like the Catholic converted with Ubani dialect, Anglican did theirs with Onitsha dialect. So what are you saying? If the people from Mbaise or any example you use cannot understand or doesn't see them as related groups there won't be basis of using such dialect in another their town in the first place.
Of all the place the British colonised as Nigeria, Alaigbo was the only place with relative peace until they introduced slave trade.
As for your independent city state. Every town in Igboland is already an independent city state until Ndigbo bring out their own united constitution for the first time after Nigeria. Thank you I like the last part of your write up, about independence of every single Igbo town. That's how it is in reality. Every single Igbo town operated like a city state with its own democracy before the colonials arrived. |

Okhuadams: Very hard Truth to take, but very true to argue about . I remember the election of 1999 many igbos came out for presidency, including the first VP Ekweme. None of them step them for each other even when the north suggested it. All Tru 1999 they fought theirselves for senete President seat. Even an Nnewi lady can't just marry any Igbo man outside her town. Unless the guy has loads of cash. The Eboyins are treated as if they are not igbos. You are not okay. Even 1999 elections that was left for Yorubas, Olu Falae refused to step down for OBJ. Buhari refused to step down for Yaradua in 2007 and in the PDP primaries of 2011, many Northern candidates refused to step down for Atiku. Atiku a Fulanis refused to let Buhari have second tenure in 2019, he had to compete against him. Amaechi and Omehia were not only same Ikwerre people, but cousins. Yet Amaechi refused to submit his mandate to Omehia. He fought him standstill and won him in courts. Amaechi joined Yorubas and the North to oust a fellow SSner in GEJ from Government. Yorubas hate and discriminate against the Ijebus. It took the Ascension of Awolowo to reintegrate Ijebus into Yoruba mainstream. Yet the Yoruba stigma against Ijebus remains, as they are accused of being too cunning or stingy with Money. Common house of rep in 2007, Yorubas couldn't keep it. Etteh was soon replaced by Bankole. Awolowo was betrayed and forced to take his life by fellow Yorubas who ratted him out to Fulanis, Jakande was the ring leader. Abiola was betrayed by fellow Yorubas in NADECO who collected money from Abacha and sold him out. Yorubaland is sharply divided into Islam and Xtianity , we saw how the issue of Hijab in school played out. All of you will not face your local problems, but you want to die on top Igbo problem, nah die una dey so. This was how all of you were waxing lyrical in 2015 after Buhari victory, About how Igbos don't know how to play politics because we rejected a monumental failure called Buhari, now the whole country can see who are better at politics between us and those who imposed Buhari on the country out of hate (Igbophobic) driven politics, whereby GEJ became a villain for not being anti-Igbo. |

In short, from what I gathered, it’s really predominantly eastern Ndoki that have “uhu” prevalently in place names. For the rest of the area, “uhu” is known as a word, though “ulo/uro” is more commonly used. So Uhu jumped Ngwaland and appeared in far away Ndokiland. Wonderful! |

ChinenyeN: The sound shifts show a different etymological pattern in proto-Igbo reconstruction.
Ipu, ifu, iwhu, ipfu, ivu, etc points to a potentially older bilabial sound that might be reminiscent of “-pw-“.
Uhu, uru, etc points to an older, potentially “s”-type sound in linguistic reconstruction.
These words show vastly different reconstructions. The tone patterns are also different, suggesting different etymologies. Ok. Thanks. Do they have Uhu/Uru/Ufu named places in Ngwaland? |

Ekealterego: Nporo people are still stubborn and incredibly strong till today although a bit like the less successful in business and till today... They are part of the warrior clans like Abiriba, Ohafia, Edda, and Abam from around that area. Although the Abiriba and many Ohafia communities have had very very great people like Eni Njoku, Ebitu Ukiwe, Ojo Maduekwe, Kalu Idika Kalu, with loads of people in entertainment like uche Jumbo, Ruggedman, J. Martins etc. Nporo seems to be a little behind but their socialization and pride in their culture are just as strong as anywhere in that area. Nkporo people In Aba or even Lagos, usually live together in an area and I bet you other groups are afraid of them cos you better not mess with one of them but on the other hand, they are very very cool... The Nporo people will travel in chartered "Gwongworo", "911" lorries in those days, (I do not know about the last 10 years) with their mattress. bed frames and pillows and buckets, etc (I did find this hilarious). The Abiriba brothers do find these heavy logistics traveling a lil bit embarrassing since those ones are usually richer on average. LOL
Some of the Cross-Riverians definitely have some Akwa-Ibom or Cross-River mixing... In Ehugbo (Afikpo) some of their names are just unique to the place (Idu, Eleje, Ibiam, Igariwey, Otti, Ukpabi, Ukpai etc). Abirba people claim to be from somewhere from Bahumono and of course Aro, Abam and other Igbo mixing, (There are a lot of places called Ebiriba or Ebiribiri in Akwa and Cross)... They have the unique culture and dancing and pride in their autonomy but one thing that contrasts these people with the Igbos in Rivers for example is that they are some of the most passionate about the Igbo consciousness... They see their culture as a contribution., not only to themselves but to the Igbo Nation and they will tell you any opportunity they get. Thanks for this great contributions. You just enriched my knowledge of those parts of Igboland. |

This line of thought usually come from people who have little pride in their culture or liberal minded. As you know , I am a purist and want to preserve the Anambraic culture. However, that doesn't diminish my strong and unflinching loyalty and patriotism to Igbo land and her people.
I have noticed one thing about my fellow Igbo here , whenever I expresses my Anambra pride you guys mistake it for superior mentality or that I am dividing Igbo land. This is a very bad misconception. From Anioma -Anambra-Enugu-Imo-Rivers-Abia-Ebonyi Igbo culture varies and it is your duty to protect your own culture including dialects. You will never catch me dead writing Igbo Izugbe. My thinking is that language evolve naturally like what happened in Enugu where they literally speak Anambraic dialects and Southern Anambra who are fast changing into Anambraic speaking patterns. It's better than to sit in a room, manufacture language and force it down our throat, in the case of Izugbe.
If you want my support and continued alliance , please respect my culture. Daalu nu Sorry nwanne. I didn't say it in derogatory way. There is nothing wrong with being a little clannish. I just know that many of the "A"s you see in general Igbo or even existing in the spellings of their names, they pronounce it as "E".
"Arochukwu", becomes, "Enruchukwu", Abiriba = Ebiriba I know they will call, "Akoli" or "Ozuakoli" as "Ekoli or Ozuekoli"
Not all words though, I know "Abam" is still "Abam I'm looking at "Ipu". Like: mkpuru osisi na-epu. To sprout/germinate/grow. I'm interested in what they call it over there. Yes I Know about the A to E switch. They have it in most Enugu dialects to. Abuo is ebuo/ebuno in Nkanu(Enugu dialect) Ato is Eto Efele (plate) is "Afere" in Nkanu Efe (Cloth ) is "Afe" in Nkanu Aka( hand) is Eka. Akwu( Palm fruit) is Ekwu Many Igbo dialects have that A to E and vice versa switch. I know that in Bende area, they have this Gwe to Gwo switch.
