cheesy I have never opened a single thread about Igbos on Nairaland. I criticise everybody. Hausas call me IPOB, Igbos call me Yoruba, PDP call me APC etc.
I am Esan. I couldn't care less about ijaw nation. Even if my Edos secede and become an independent country I'd still be a minority compared to Urhobos and Binis.
We don't travel to the East, only Igbos travel to my region despite the fact that we share border with Anambra(well, some of our people do buy things in Onitsha market) I can bet that you can't count up to 1000 Esan people in Igbo land whereas your people are all over our region. What makes you feel we will suddenly start travelling to your tiny region that will be battling overpopulation and pollution?
The only place we travel to is Lagos.
I have and know many Esans in the East. One was even a classmate in the University and still currently in the East, married to an Igbo woman who was his girlfriend during his school days.
How is SE tiny compared to Esanland? grin
Which overpopulation and pollution?
You have obviously listened to too many Yoruba propaganda about the East.

I don't really care sometimes I read something extremely delusional and decide to respond.
Here's a little expo for you.
Even in 1967 when Ojukwu declared Biafra, nobody gave a fucck in the South, not even the South Westerns. Igbos migrated through Ondo, Edo, Kogi etc nobody batted an eyelid. Southerners only took interest in the conflict when Ojukwu sent Banjo to annex Benin and install an Igbo as the governor. If Igbos declare Biafra tonight I can assure you that no southerner will give a fucck
Stop smoking whatever you were smoking.
Enahoro from Edo was with Gowon and. Awolowo during the war and were issuing starvation policy from Lagos.
Many people from Edo, Kogi, Ondo were members of the Nigerian ARMY that invaded the East from Gakem in present Cross River State.
Ejoor was among the Nigerian delegation in Aburi, and Oba Akenzua it was who advised Gowon to renege on Aburi accord.
So the whole talk of Minorities being neutral during the war is hogwash. Everyone picked a side. No one was neutral.

You are also talking nonsense. Before the war, an Igbo from Anioma, Asaba to be precise was the democratically elected premier of the mid-west region and he sat in Benin from where he reigned over the whole minorities of the Midwest, the Government house of Edo State in Benin City is still named after this illustrious son of Igboland from Asaba, he was called Dennis Osadebey, he was ousted during Nzeogwu coup like the rest of the other premiers all over the country.
When Biafra marched through Midwest on our way to Lagos, Ojukwu appointed Doctor Okonkwo, another Igbo from Asaba to take the place of Osadebey.
He wasn't imposing Igbo rule, he was resetting things as they were before Nzeogwu coup.

Stop speaking for Southerners, focus on your small Esan. Every ethnic group in the South would decide their own fate individually once Igbos secede as Biafra.
Stop the gum body, stand on your Esan and speak for them.

Thanks.

And couple with the fact that every states(including northern states) that pipe line passes through is Now known as HOST COMMUNITY AND COLLECTING THE SAME REVENUE AS OIL PRODUCING COMMUNITY, what is now left for south south (the goose that lay all the eggs), for all the oil spillage, enviromental destruction, under development & resources theft?

South south leaders should stand up & demand for their independent natural resource control & also south south development commission ooo.

Niger delta is not south south region, niger delta comprises of all oil producing state including those from other region.

Nah!
You can't speak for all minorities.
You should restrict your rants to your Esan people.
This should be simple enough.
Get tired on behalf of your Esan people, don't drag others with you, answer your father's surname.
I mean, what does an Esan have in common with Legbo people in Cross River who are neighbors to Ebonyi Igbos?

One or two of my friends in SA were not happy about this... Although the guy was chosen or won convincingly and I guess he played that, "opportunity", "unity" and "marginalisation" game well...

You needed to see the huge event he threw in SA as his first programme in charge at the Sheraton Hotels in J'bourg and see men in attendance. Even Abaribe and Ekweremadu attended virtually and made some speech.

His people with the backing of Ikwerre People's Congress led by Livingstone Wechie are solidly behind him. SA happens to be one of the most active of these ohaneze outside of Nigeria.

I don't think this game is from Wike, I think and believe it is from Amaechi... I feel that Wechie's role in the whole game makes me think this...although I have not dug deeper yet.

Although Wechie is a strong Igbophile for long but you know with these people, they speak with both sides of their mouth.

On the other hand, I guess Wike could see that he lost a huge fanbase with his wicked shenanigans and reign of terror in Obigbo, he is walking around these days wearing Igbo attire up and down.

I must say however, Ikwerre people are not homogenous and neither their language. There are many on their side trying to sort the identity crisis over there.

Final note, you see all these people with identity crisis, once they step outside of their village or Nigeria eh, you won't believe they are the same people with such crisis. I have met many of them in Igbo functions outside of Nigeria.
We can't allow these people to continue playing us like this.

I swear, we are not trying as a people.

Constitution don't mean shiit if all your governors and politicians declare it's unfair and that they no longer recognise it.
You are the ones who know nothing. All you do is rant and beat chest online because it's safer.
I can assure you that majority of the people don't give shiiit about Igbos. At least majority of south south people
There is nothing like South South people.
As Ndiigbo are found in that same South South. And I don't mean IKa and Ikwerre people.
I mean real proud Igbos.
You could have easily said that Esan people (your people) don't give a shit about Igbos and I would agree with you, though I know that Esan men like to marry Igbo women alot, so you wouldn't still be right.
But the point is that you should learn to speak for just your own people.

You people are just like so determined to make Zik appear less important, even if you were the one you can't argue for East to be separate from Nigeria, during independence Zik was arguing with the British he needed support from the rest of Africa not just Nigeria and you saw his connections

It all these propaganda against him, yes Zik ran into some scandal like you noted but the head position was great, he had already been the premier of the East and he made a choice to work with the North when Awo ahould be leader of opposition

There was nothing no need whatsoever for Zik to anyone to even dream of Biafra during independence, then at the time of Biafra, Zik was only lucky to be alive and Ojukwu wouldn't even listen to him so what are you saying as for the University,

What's wrong with it being close to the North it was the university of Nigeria the first university in the country it ought to be close to the center, let's stop this propaganda,

The North could have arrested Zik, or you mean the British could have arrested Zik that all ended after independence so I don't know what you are saying what I can tell you is that if ybe North overstep they would put in their place
As far as modern Igbo nationalism is concerned, Zik is a persona non grata! He was a shortsighted fellow.
There was enough evidence to show that NIGERIA was never going to work. There was Igbo massacres in 1954 and 1945 in the North.
The leaders of India and Pakistan were wise enough to recognize that Islam is irreconcilable with any other major civilization and pulled out from British India as fast as possible.
Zik blinded by pan Africanism from his days in USA could not see beyond the skin color of the Northerners and their race.
Zik never saw any reason why Ndiigbo shouldn't co-exist with Islamists in North and Yorubaland. A wise leader with insight would have seen the problems we are having today forehand and worked for Eastern region independence vigorously.
Zik like you was blinded by desire to be part of a larger country where he thought he was going to rule, just like I listen to empty Igbos who support Nigeria together talk about how NIGERIA is a big market Igbo traders can conquer, when it takes only one FG law to render all of you useless.
You never learn.

Nothing can be substituted with being 100% in charge of your own destiny.
Not having to carry others or have their own interests decide your own progress.

This is what Republic of Igboland will give us.
Dissect it anyway you like. Freedom and Liberty remains the foundation upon which prosperous and powerful nations are built on.
Igbos will only have this in BIAFRA, aka Republic of Igboland.

Sometimes I get really tired of the ways you people approach issue, you are just focused that once we divide every problem is solved, Canada is an example of one country with two official languages of English and French,

Let me tell you one thing anyone that can't fix Nigeria can't Fix Biafra, Igbo Republic might be a lite different But Biafra is the one trending now it's almost the same problem and Biafra would end up having two official labguage of Igbo and English

We have to find solutions stop focusing all your arguments in destroying Nigeria or thinking Nigeria can't work, it is not that I love Nigeria more than Biafra but solution is solution
Canada has no Islam. A very big difference.
The Western Civilization is a fusion of Greek philosophy and Roman empire Christianity.
Both the English and French in Canada are United by that ideology.
Still you see how strong a centrifugal force language is, that despite the shared ideology, Quebec are still fighting albeit not with arms for independence from Canada.

By the way. When I say BIAFRA, I mean Igbo only speaking country.
Even IPOB themselves know at this point that multi ethnic BIAFRA is a pipe dream.

And Yes! Republic of Igboland will solve atleast 90% of our current problems.

I was the one that said Awo taking western education to the North was an attack on the caliphate, They wanted to Arrest Zik lol, I don't blame the North for seeming too powerful it is people like you that gives them so much imaginary power,

Stop your assumptions, let it come we are waiting in readiness, to send them back to Futa Jalon with the water of baptism

Who are they, people that was too down to rise when Nzeogwu struck, let's just forget this argument, you can chose to be a caward but like Zik I would always tell the caliphate that the East and indeed the Igbos had never been subjugated and unless they want to loose their throne they should count their blessings the Igbos are not like the Hausas and an Emir crown can look good on an Igbo

Having said that, the North would get education either by peace or by force, we would start from capturing their terrorists and forcefully educating them
You are not reasoning well.
You want to be in a country with a people you will eternally be dragging for power with. Wasting precious time that would have been spent on development and industrialization on power intrigues.
Are you listening to yourself?

No one is making North larger than they are. The fact is that the Islamic ideology of the North does not support infidels rulling the children of Allah, so whenever this happens, there will serious revolt like in the North like we saw in GEJ, derailing the Government.

Zik was a chicken, a coward. He was found guilty of using Eastern region funds to run party politics, so the British used it to blackmail him into either accepting to play second fiddle to their beloved North or go to jail.
We all know how the so called Zik of Africa became a powerless ceremonial president to a barely educated Balewa just to save his own skin.
Its the same Zik that some of you want to paint as someone more powerful? I laugh.

Zik is a shortsighted fellow. I don't blame him too much though for lacking foresight, there was no antecedents for him to learn from.
But I get irritated when I see adults like you who have seen the mistakes of Zik in opting for a United NIGERIA and yet voluntarily choose same path.
It is madness.

Zik lost out big time to the North.
He was beaten blue black from the word go when he was relegated to a mere figure head president.
And then was given a knock out punch after the much disputed 1963 Census result.

The only lesson to be learned from Zik misadventures in Nigeria politics and experience with the North is how to play second fiddle to the North( This is an area Zik know we'll which I want us to copy for 2023 to unseat the Yorubas who think they are wiser than they are) . And also why Ndiigbo must find a way to pull out from this shithole.

Imagine someone once asked me why do I think Zik built UNN In Nsukka.
I told him it's because of the serene environment. The guy laughed an evil laughter, after which he said: Is Nsukka a Northern Igbo land that is almost a Savannah region more serene than deeply rainforested Central and Southern Igbo with lush vegetations and much more abundant rainfall?
After which he went on to tell me that Zik wanted the University to be as close to the North as possible, and that was the single factor why he picked Nsukka.

I was dumbfounded. But the more I reexamine Zik life, the more it makes sense.

Zik is not an example we should emulate in Igboland. He is more like an "Ozoemena" as far as politics in Igboland is concerned in wider Nigerian context.
I only appreciate his role in improving Western education literacy in Igboland. And for finding a rare gem like Okpara Michael. Those are his only two legacies in Igboland that he would be remembered for when Republic of Igboland stands in the community of Nations in UN.

I support Arabic education for the North or something like that but they need our support not the Awolowo style when you realise he just want to launch a literacy warfare against the Caliphate/Fulanis

Education is great but if the intention is not genuine then it must be rejected, there is no way I personally will support a system of education that I know would destabilise the North, Awolowo's intention was covered in dangerous emancipation, which even the British did not instigate against the North

The Igbos and the North would always be better at respecting each other's space, if Nzeogwu did not lead the coup, I know that we could have been dealing with Northern terrorism from time to time

But it could have stayed in the North and once the Military could have stopped the terrorism if the system was not destroyed to this nepotistic one we have today the Igbos could have constituted the majority of the Military elite squad as it was

Nigeria's problem is quite simple but deeper than ordinary politicking can solve it first understanding our differences it is not even too late to stop the terrorism in the North,
Same country, different lingua Franca. Arabic for the North and English for the rest? Two irreconcilable civilizations, the Arabic-Islamic and Western Judeo-christian, coexisting in same country with Islamists accepting equality with infidels and not attempt to hoard power?
Someone is living in Fantasyland again. Can you give me just one example of a country in the whole world where this particular arrangement exists with peace and prosperity?!Just one

Lol!
Even your submission above has only proved why NIGERIA should not exist.

Islam does not allow infidels rulling children of Allah.
Before Nzeogwu stupid coup, Balewa and Saraduna were already raising Adaka Boro and his Ijaw boys with weapons to distabilize the East like they did to the West with Akintola and his supporters.
Zik would have ultimately ended up in Prison like Awolowo, it was only a matter of when and not if!

You lots are funny, someone even suggested that Awolowo trying to bring Western education to northern masses was a wrong move. Ihukwanum eshishi! Atajukwe, si buye unu!

Commentary: Prince Okparaeke, Eze Umuanumanu Of Eagle Farms – The Efi Igbo Master

https://www.absradiotv.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/efi-igbo-1024x575.jpg

Creativity drives the world. This is because creative minds are leaders. That sums up the man, Prince Dr Ugochukwu Ferdinand Okparaeke, Osimili Umuchu, Omelora, Eze Umuanumanu and the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Eagle Food Processing Industry Limited, Umuchu.

Born in 1953 to the family of late Obi Job Okpara Ukeje Okparaeke and late Lolo Ejiuro Okparaeke (Nee Obiako) of Okoro Obi family in Ozara Akukwa, Umuchu in Aguata, Ugoo was exceptionally intelligent. He obtained his FSLC at Saint Barnabas’ School Akokwa in 1973 in flying colours. However, due to paucity of fund, he could not continue his education.

He proceeded to Onitsha on apprenticeship under his uncle, Wilson Obiako. On gaining freedom, he started selling plates and accessories. Prince Dr Ugochukwu Okparaeke spent about seven years in Onitsha and in January, 1980, he left for his country home, Umuchu, where he started farming. He started poultry with 50 birds, stocked in a small room in his apartment.

The success achieved within four years was terrific, though there were some challenges such as death of birds and shortage of grain, which resulted in many poultry farms folding up. In a bid to avoid such in future, Omelora started a maize and cassava farm at Ibughubu Umuchu. Now, Eagle Food has over one hundred and fifty thousand birds, including layers, growers, broilers and chicks in over eight branches. 90 percent of raw materials used in feeds production are locally sourced.

Wastes from his farms/factories are converted into feeds for pigs, fishes, cattle and rams. Eagle Food Industry equally has a section where it is rearing cattle and ram for more than 15 years. Its breeds are both Efi Hausa and Efi Igbo. Gracefully, Governor Willie Obiano has supported the company immensely in developing Efi Igbo, thereby curtailing herders/farmers clashes in the state.

Eagle Food also has piggery, dog, fish, frozen food and cold room sections as well as feed section and plant and crop sections. There is also the snail and grass cutter section, palm kernel sections, vegetable oil refinery equipment, power/welding section and poultry litters section. All are available and affordable for sale in commercial quantity. There is price slash this Yuletide.

Prince Okparaeke also has feed mill that produces garri, known as Eagle Best Garri and Eagle Food Daily Vita. Other companies are: Osimiri United Modern Poultry Farm Limited, Osimiri Wonder Agro Farm Nigeria Limited and Adanna Farms. These companies deeply rooted in Umuchu have branches in Okigwe and Arondizuogu both in Imo state as well as in Umunze and Oko.

They produce and sale Palm kernel oil for vegetable oil; Palm kernel cake for animals feeds; Animal feeds/poultry droppings as manure for farming purposes; Birds such as broilers, layers and cockerels; Eggs; Cows; Horses for entertainment; Fishes; Live Pig, Pock Meat; Yam tubers; Maize; Cassava; Vegetables/Garden egg, water melon, among others. A visit to Eagle Farm Umuchu or any of the branches, especially this Yuletide, will make your celebrations memorable.

Prince Dr Ugochukwu Okparaeke, apart from building factories, provided his community, Umuchu, with electric transformers, helped the less privileged, including widows and orphans and rebuilt public schools, and roads. He has an Education Trust Fund Scheme called Osimiri Education Support Fund which he has floated for over 16 years, offering scholarship to thirteen students every year into primary, secondary and tertiary institutions.

Furthermore, Prince Okparaeke has been single handedly providing culverts and drainage facilities for erosion control in Umuchu. Osimiri bought security van for the vigilante group. The devoted Catholic equally constructed Ozara-Akukwa Civic Center and has been constructing and renovating classroom buildings for primary and secondary schools in Umuchu. Thus, Eze umuanumanu has bagged over 42 awards and honours. CBN recognized Eagle Food Processing Industry Nigeria Ltd as Best Farming Company among many others. Prince is a Pillar of the Catholic Men Organization. In August 2013, he bagged the National Productivity Order of Merit Award by the immediate past President, Goodluck Jonathan.

To crown it all, the European-American University, Panama, in 2019, gave Prince Ugochukwu Ferdinand Okparaeke an honorary Doctorate degree in Agro-Allied Business Management. Doc is the President of Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN). Eagle Food Processing Industry Nigeria Limited has, for over 39 years contributed immensely in feeding the nation. Visit any of our branches for affordable food.

A tree does not make a forest. Hence, kudos must also go to the man behind the mask, Chief Charles Okpalaeke, Ochudo one of Umuchu for his tenacity, humility, diligence and honesty in moving Eagle Food to greater heights.

To God be the glory.

If only we can have 100 plus farm like this scattered all over Igboland.
We will become food independent.

This can be achieved by having more of our people getting more interested in food security of Igboland and investing more on such other than the usual rush for real estate (which isn't bad on its on).

But an agricultural revolution can provide jobs for millions of unemployed Igbos and raise our disposable income and State revenues.

I'll try and find what is actually considered Ala in the Yoruba religion but I assure you there's a name for it

Ori has everything to do with Chi it is the spiritual self that resides in the body and they are stilll different languages so how exactly do you expect them to have the same name?

And it is impossible for the Kin and Kith of the Igbos to be in Central Africa because those in Central Africa belong to a completely different language group which the Igbos are not part of, Central Africa is Bantu meanwhile Yoruba are niger congo just like the Igbo so that statement alone tells me that you don't know shit about DNA, culture or even similarities in DNA and culture
Ori has nothing to do with Chi. This whole argument has become redundant.

We look phenotypically more like Central African tribes than Yorubas and west Africans.
And traditionally, we traded with Central Africans.
Fernando Po, Panya( Equitorial Guinea), Gabon, Cameroon (Ambazonia) were all our precolonial/colonial place of interactions, and not Ghana, Togo, Yorubaland and co in West Africa.

We are not even supposed to be in West Africa
That might be one of the first things we will do once we leave NIGERIA.
We will leave ECOWAS and join Central Africa equivalent organization.
We belong with the likes of Ambazonia, Gabon,Equitorial Guinea, etc.
That's our root and traditional trading routes.

I will answer you in one, two, three

1.) Easier trade is guaranteed where there is free movement of goods in and out of the country . Can that be said for Ndigbo in Nigeria where there own and nearest ports (Eastern ports) are blocked by Nigerian port policy?

2.)Ndigbo leaving Nigeria will make Igbo land the largest Economy in West Africa after the limits placed by us by Nigeria, eg the ports is relieved.
Secondly Nigeria is not a nation as they lack all the characteristics to be called one. Contraption is the name and right now with the death toll of 7 million since independent and 300,000 as of last year, how many do you think will be alive in the next 50 years to call themselves big?

3.) immediately Igboland leaves Nigeria, any bank or multinational that intends to deal with the new nation must establish a base in the new Country significantly increasing her chance for receiving investments. While many starts investing in the country immediately.

4.)the birth of Igboland will lead to the immediate regulation on the quality of agricultural products thereby increasing the health of the population not positioning it to a dumpster. The country in her own creates an arm to handle the agricultural needs of the country based on the country's taste.

Infact Nigeria is a Curse to Igboland.
I didn't even care to ask you if you might be confident to travel by road to the other parts of the so called Country right now.
Excellent come back.

They share all those terms you mentioned but simply under a different name Ala is similar to the Ogboni deity or essentially a deity of the earth and when it comes to the concept of Chi the Yoruba have the concept of Ori or the spiritual self i've talked to people who know more then 10 times what you know about Igbo religion and they all tell me there's massive similarities between the two you know Medicine Shell that Youtube Channel on Igbo history and religion i've talked to them severally and they agreed there's similarities not only in the divination process but also in the names of deities, shrine figures, spiritual self and even with masquerades you're the one who knows nothing how are the similarities between Yoruba and Igbo even similar to the wide diversity between Humans?

All groups in Southern Nigeria up to Togo share many similarities in Language, culture and religion that's an undoubted fact and in my opinion if Nigeria must split it should be a north south divide and not a south east, south central, south west etc divide as IPOB continously promote
Nope Ala is not same as Ogboni. grin
Ala is not an occultic group. It's a deity in charge of fertility and abundance, that must be cleansed once defiled by those who committed abomination.
Stop overreaching Biko.
Ori has nothing to do with "Chi" if it were, it would be part of Yoruba naming system like Chi.

Ndiigbo don't share much with west Africa. Our kin and kiths are more in Central Africa.

All the measures to replace biafrans with Nigerians not to hold them. Will you have biafra and still be working as Nigerians?
But we all left those jobs in 1966 and headed home to Biafra yet it never stopped the blood tasty demons who came chanting the incantation "To keep NIGERIA one is a job that must be done".

We are more than ready to give all those up, once we have Biafra.
We lost all of them in 1966 and still didn't get Biafra.
Imagine how fast we will give them up knowing we already have Biafra!

Afa of the Igbo and Ifa of the Yoruba are very similar although cultural and social views vary ultimately they're both part of the Niger-Congo family group, they both share common words and practices ( Yam festival, masquerades etc. ) and the forms of religion are very similar we both use divination processes and we both use cowrie shells or kola nuts in these divination processes we both believe that direct contact with the supreme God, Olodumare or Chukwu isn't possible we both have a range of intermediary spirits Orisha or Alusi we both use music, chant, song, dance, incantation and divinations to invoke said spirits to help us but essentially the fact of the matter is that both groups share similarities and the same applies for the Edo, Jukun, Igala, Urhobo, Itsekiri, Nupe and even the Hausa to a certain degree there is the possibility to build a base upon our traditional religion and cultures which are all similar in fashion to each other

All it needs is a uniting figure to bring all these cultures under a singular Nigerian cultural and religious theme to make as a base and for the most part the Yoruba aren't Muslim it is about 10-20% which still leaves the vast majority there as Christians and traditionalists but Igbos do still have a few muslims among them and that fact cannot be denied although not as large as the Yoruba population i'd estimate up to 1-3% of the Igbo population are muslims but you get the point there is a clear unifying cultural and religious theme across Nigeria and even if we are to divide it should be that we secede from the north as in north proper Kano, Bauchi, Sokoto those places but retain Taraba, Kogi, Benue, parts of Niger you know the middle belt because we're all similar and united in that sense
You are living in Fantasyland bro.
You can as well unite the whole world under one country, afterall we are all homo sapiens.

You obviously don't know anything about Igbo traditional religion.
Does the Yoruba Cosmos recognize Ofor na Ogu? Do they recognize Chi na eke? Do they know Ani/Ala/Ali/Ana?
Nwanne, you are far, nataba!

Yorubas are even like 60% Muslims and most Yoruba Christians have Muslim background. grin

Please, Ndiigbo are not similar to Yorubas and myriads of ethnicities in Nigeria.
We are not.
We share a thing with Ananng, Ibibio and Ekoid groups though and with the Igalanized Igbos now found in Kogi-Anambra/Enugu boundaries.
That's just all about it.
Either way, we want Republic of Igboland.

How do you pass exams?
I said a beacon. If you've bought land before, does the surveyor place beacons everywhere in the land?
Did I say that every town in Igboland must have Igbo attached to it?
I said toward the extreme of the Cardinal points.
For example, Igbo akiri is sharing borders with Bini

Umu-Igbo is in Ikwerre (Rivers state) further south of Arochukwu by the way.
Don't forget Igbo-Etche too.
