SlyDev: Self assurance but you got all your civilization from British, igbo that they had to teach them how to plant crops properly, getaway u Lol! E shock you right? The British themselves knew that Igbos never considered them as superiors, but rather as stepping Stones to a higher pedestal. But an African from a probably slavish group like yourself is here tearing your pants over Igbo matter. Lol! People learn from each other when they meet. The British learnt alot from the Romans and the Vikings. The Greeks learnt from Persians, Arab, and Egypt. The Chinese learnt alot from Americans. Everyone learns from each other. We saw the British as nothing but a people to learn their technology from and never as superiors. We had our own civilization. We had cloth making centres, we had Metallurgy centres with Iron ore minning sites at Lejja, you can look up Igbo ukwu artifacts and exploits of Awka blacksmiths. The Igbo had perfect understanding of astronomy. We had our days and weeks and years that were perfectly aligned with the movement of the Moon. We evolved our democracy before the Whites understood what it meant. Teach Igbo how to plant crops properly? Are you mad? Look at Igbo population pre colonial era, we were a heavily and densely populated people. You don't achieve that without first and foremost conquering food production and preservation science, as you need food to keep humans alive. |

SlyDev: Ibo equal of Britain? your master Israel no reach Britain level talk more about you a nonenity. Some minor tribes are even more civilised than Ibos, na population una get uno get anything The Igbo self-assurance frightened the British . "True democrats, no one was better than themselves but yet they were somehow better than anyone else. This self-assurance was sometimes a little frightening. The Ibo men and women are so continually in the right and so busy proving that everyone else is in the wrong. They want to learn from us but only such things as may be materially productive as soon as possible. They tolerate us because they need us. They do not look upon us resentfully as conquerors but complacently as stepping-stones. What will happen when they can, or think they can mount it alone and no further use of the stepping-stones, no one can tell." . oyatz: Had it been that this was done before 1923, it may succeed but nowadays, it's no longer acceptable in International laws to expand territories and/or exercise political authority over a territory through military invasions, disregarding the current boundaries.
The closest you can do to get those territories is to push for a POLITICAL solution (provided there is a problem of boundary disputes between the two new Republics) in which the two islands will vote in a referendum whether they want to join Igbo Republic or remain as parts of Ijaw Republic. A major drawback to this approach is 'do you share boundaries with these Islands'?
It's very difficult for one country to be laying claims to parts of another country that doesn't share boundaries with it.
For instance, if Nigeria is laying claims to Accra, because the early settlers of Accra, the Ga-Adangba people said they migrated from Ile-Ife, the world court will ask which part of Nigeria borders Accra? Re-read what you wrote above again and ask yourself sincerely, if you made any sense. |

Psoul: Many Nigerians have asked if there were parties from the southern and northern Protectorate that partook in the declaration of Nigeria, or did the British on their own sign the document in the absence of the people involved?
Southern and Northern Protectorate were joined to form Nigeria in 1914. By then the nationalist we know of now were still little to know what happened. Nnamdi Azikiwe was only 10 years old, Ahmadu Bello was 4 years, Awolowo was 5 years then. Which Nigerian signed the Amalgamation document?
There were only 28 individuals involved in the forceful Amalgamation of the South and the North Protectorate. Out of the 28, only 6 were Nigerians. The rest were all British citizens. Lord lugard the first governor general led the Amalgamation (he was one the one to propose it first) and the final signature was his. Sir Kitoyi Ajasa
The six Nigerians are;
1. HRH Maiturare Sarkin Mussulumi and Sultan of Sokoto
2. Usuman Dan Maje who later became Emir of Kano
3. Sir Kitoyi Ajasa a lawyer
4. HRH Oladugbolu Alaafin of Oyo
5. HRH R Henshaw (Obong of Calabar)
6. Abubakar Shehu of Borno
These are the Nigerians present at the amalgamation. They were there ceremoniously. From the names above, you would notice that no Igbo man was present in the amalgamation of Nigeria despite the Igbos having powerful Kings like the Obi Okosi of Onitsha, Eze Nri òbalíke etc The reason is not far-fetched. The Igbos fought strongly against the British rule and they were never in support of their systems. Lagos colony was also against the amalgamation as at then.
The British were more comfortable to deal with Fulani/Northerners. The reason there were more fulani/northerners during the amalgamation. So, the saying that Northerners wants to always rule Nigeria did not just start. It was positioned so by the British. Even the location of the amalgamation was also located in the North.
Nigeria was not formed by consensus but by Force.

Christistruth00: At the 1884 Berlin Conference The British held Bakassi and the Germans of Cameroon held the Cross River
The Germans used the Cross River of Eastern Nigeria to travel Back and Forth from their Colonies in Northern Cameroon
The British wanted the Cross River desperately so they agreed to give the Germans Bakassi as part of German Cameroon in exchange
for the Germans giving the British the Cross River
for the Cross River plus they would permit the Germans freedom of Travel on the Cross River to and from their Northern Cameroon Territory This was the agreement between the British and the Germans at the Berlin Conference
But after the Germans lost the 2nd World War the British treated Bakassi as Conquered Territory especially after the UN Split
Cameroon between the World War 2 Victors Britain and France to administer
The issue of the agreement between Britain and Germany over Bakassi being exchanged for Cross River is in Lord Lugards Book Dual Mandate
This was the agreement that Cameroon used to win its case at the Court NIGERIA is not under any obligation to obey the rulling of the world court, she probably did because of her gentleman agreement with Cameroon during the Biafran war. The world court recently ruled in favor of Somalia over control of sea coast both countries are dragging. But Kenya rejected the world court rulling and there is nothing anyone can do about that. |

The joke is on you.
The great Benin empire doesn't need the validation of your insignificant igbo tribe to know it is one of the greatest civilization to ever come out of Africa.
It is you that is trying so hard to prove a point that igbos had anything in its primitive history to talk about.
Even now you are limited to your 5 small states which Buhari has rightly called a dot and thats what you igbos are.
An insignificant dot.
You keep crying and crying of marginalization in present day Nigeria and thats because you igbos are cry babies.
You keep trying to grab other tribes in the Niger delta and they keep rejecting you.
Igbos simply lack selfworth hence they are trying to claim tribes in river state, delta state and everywhere.
And they keep shaming you. Lol! Bini of three LGA. A minority among Minorities. Hahaha! There is nothing about an empire built on Portuguese firearms used to invade fellow blacks and supply to Portuguese ships. A mushroom empire that was ransacked in a matter of 48hours, is that one an empire? Ndiigbo are a superior race. So superior that we have so called Bini decendants even in Edo state, Delta and Rivers dumping your backward Bini language for Igbo one. I mean even in your Edo State you have people walking around with surnames like Chukwuma! A mere interaction between Ndiigbo and their Bini ancestors was enough to convince them of the superiority of Igbo language, names and culture, so much that they dumped their Bini ones for Igbo one! Are you not ashamed to admit this? Igbos are crying to leave NIGERIA, not because an insignificant minority like Edo or indeed any other group is doing better than Ndiigbo in Nigeria. But because we know we should be competing with the world and not with laid back groups with no hope or desire for progress that are in Nigeria. |

Ask yourself why the might, ingenuity, intelligence of the great Benin emoure keeps making the news more than a hundred years after the british colonialists formed Nigeria.
Why is there no news of your igboness coming from around the world like the Benin Kingdom ?
You guys were not significant!
Look at the Benin bronzes all over the world! Everyone admits they came from a place of great civilization.
Igbos didn't have anything worthwhile so nobody cares of whatever you did or know. Inferior bronze works that were looted because your weak empire was ransacked in matter of 48hours. Is that something to be proud of? There are Igbo artifacts in foreign museums all over the world, the difference being that many of them were sold to colonial buyers by families who own them and not looted. So no talk of returning them. Igbo ukwu artifacts are in New York museum too, and they are recognized by all academia as the most sophisticated artifact in the entire NIGERIA! Bini and intelligence in same sentence is a great mismatch. I mean even right in Edo state, Igbo culture and civilization is so superior that we have Igbo speaking clans with Igbo names in your midst. Can you beat that? You are nothing but an insignificant minority group who had your hay days when you got superior firearms from Portuguese to procure slaves for them from inland. As soon as the firearms proliferated, the surrounding tribes pushed you shameless savages back, and ever since then, you are still living in nostalgia of your looting, invasion and pillaging days of neighboring groups for filthy Portuguese bronze coins that you melted for your inferior arts. The joke is on you. Below is an example of an Igbo artifact in a museum in Israel. It use to be in New York before Israel bought it.

saddler: All these things you put up there coming from your potopoto brain.
Igbos had no civilization.
You were all in the bush when the whiteman came . No form of intelligence, no organization. Just look back at history. Wherever you find greatness, you find organized leadership.
From Ancient Egypt to Ghana, India, Chinese, Germany, British, Portuguese, Spanish, Romans etc
They all had leaders that dictate how the people live their lives.
Igbos didn't have because you were unintelligent and primitive.
It was a yoruba man Ajayi Crowther that translated the English bible to Igbo so your ancestors can have some form of intelligence.
When the white came, they met a civilized Benin empire that was compared to what is obtainable in the Western world as at that time. If not for colonialism, you will be roaming in the bush by now. You are a primitive Bini man. Lol! Igbos had organized democracy, we were never without leaders. Power was decentralized between title holders, chief priests and priestesses of important deities, women leaders, Leaders of different age groups, market leaders and then the general assembly of the people. We were that organized and it was much better than a fat and probably intellectually challenged Oba dictating for everyone else. The evidence of superiority of a people organization lies in their productivity. Igbo arts (Igbo ukwu) were 1 million times better than Edo arts. Igbo blacksmiths (The Awka blacksmiths) where 1 trillion times better than Bini ones. In other words, we were and remain technologically more advanced than Binis. What's more, Igbos evolved a traditional cloth weaving centres with Akwete in Abia State as the most famous of them all, Bini had not a single one. I bet you were all wearing plant leaves before encounter with the Portuguese who you shamelessly collected weapons from, with which you used to terrorize neighbouring groups and sold to them to the Portuguese in exchange for coins and other materials which you melted to produce your bronze works, as Bini had no traditional iron ore minning sites, like we had in Lejja in Igboland. Igbos adapted and modified a writing style called Nsibidi before the whites came, your backward Bini had non. Ajayi crowther never wrote any Igbo Bible, how can he do so when he couldn't speak Igbo? Igbo missionaries of Sierra Leone origin wrote the first Igbo Bible, Ajayi crowther was the head of the church delegation to Nigeria so naturally supervised the work. Quit being retarded. Google about Simon Jonas! He was an Igbo slave of Sierra Leone origin who did most of the work in Igbo Bible production. Bini empire conquered nada! How can you claim to conquer when even in your Edo State, the superiority of Igbo civilization reigns supreme as groups like Igbanke, Owariuzo, etc, all speak an Igboid language? Look around you how many so called Bini decendants who dumped Bini language for a superior Igbo language and culture. Is there any better prove of cultural superiority than language imposition? I mean the sign of British dominance is seen in English language universality in today World, the Portuguese dominance of the word can be seen in Brazil, Angola and Mozambique. Spanish dominance can be seen in South America and Equitorial Guinea. Igbo superiority can be seen right in Edo state! You were bunch of Savages who couldn't evolve civilization until the Portuguese gave you weapons with which you shamelessly used to terrorize your fellow black neighbors. When the British came for you, you fell in a matter of days and the stench of your citiy where you used fellow blacks for human sacrifice was exposed. |

How do those rubbish you put up there serve as evidence that igbos influenced Edos?
One of the greatest igboman ever known Nnamdi Azikwe wrote his biography and traced his ancestry to the benin kingdom.
If not for the white men that came to teach igbos how to organize and govern themselves, you guys weren't different from gorillas and chimpanzees roaming the bush.
A tribe without organization isnt capable of influencing another tribe.
Should i give you an example of Benin influence on igbos? Do you know Obi of Onitsha?
His ancestors are from the Great Benin Kingdom . His royal apparel and his staff are from Benin kingdom.
Pls do not bring Igboid/Edoid sub groups in Delta state into this.
Those tribes have rejected your land grabbing antics openly on several occasions. They are not igbo. Your five landlocked states is what you should brag with.
Edo state as a whole is about 3 of those your southeastern states combined. Zik was playing politics with you Edoids. It's impossible for a Bini person to be named Eze Chima in 1770s, use your brain. Moreover even in Edo state, we still have Igboid speakers till today. The Obi of Onitsha who is the custodian of Onitsha culture had since come out to proclaim that Onitsha were ancient Igbos who were on reverse migration from Ife, had a brief stop at Bini before returning to Igboland. Bini is too small to influence Ndiigbo. There is nothing sophisticated about a bunch of people bowing down to a fat Oba who they are probably more intelligent than. Ndiigbo are too wise for such tomfoolery. We evolved s much more superior Democracy where everyone opinion matters and is weighed upon in community square before a decision that affects everyone was taken. If you think you are superior because your ancestors allowed a fat man dictate for them, then the joke is on you. Bini never evolved a superior civilization than Ndiigbo. Igbo-ukwu arts are much more superior to whatever Bini had to offer. Awka blacksmiths were much more advanced than Binis ever had. Bini land hard no pre colonial cloth making centres, Ndiigbo had many with Akwete being the most famous. When faced with a superior civilization like the British, the Igbos put up much more robust and sophisticated military resistance as shown in Anglo-Aro war, than the weak Binis who lived on hype but was ransacked by the British in a matter of 48hrs. |

They will be exposed in full broad day light, and will brace themselves well for the "Igbo treatment" SE have always served as a shield for them. Yeah, Enuani might have some confused people in Issele-uku with their mouths glued to Oba Bini anus. But the rest of Enu-ani ably led by Asaba will join SE, as far as we demonstrate capabilities to defend them from Nigerians hate, and not run to blow River Niger and leave them to their own fates like happened to communities like Isheagu and Asaba in 1967-1970. |
