The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, who spoke about the controversy surrounding the 2019 election has told disgruntled politicians to emulate Saraki. INEC who spoke through its National Commissioner, Alhaji Mohammed Haruna, told politicians across the country to emulate Saraki and his calmness in accepting defeat.

Alhaji Haruna who commended the people of Kwara state for holding peaceful elections, said this on Wednesday at the presentation of Certificate of Return to Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazak, Kwara state governor-elect and 24 elected members of the Kwara State House of Assembly.The INEC National Commissioner who urged the opposition to criticise constructively, appealed to the governor-elect not to see members of the opposition as his enemies. '

He said  “emulate the political maturity of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, who on behalf of all others that lost in the election, said that the winners are not his enemies.”

The Federal Capital Development Authority, FCDA, have been accused of demolishing a motherless babies home in Abuja which allegedly had over 150 kids inside at the time of the incident.

Five fake estate agents have been arrested by the Lagos State Police for defrauding a newly-wed couple and pastor of N3.9m. The fake estate agents who defrauded the newly-wed couple of  N900,000 being rent for a three-bedroom flat in the Ikeja area of the state, were identified as Elabor Aruoya, who allegedly posed as the landlord; Adeshina Abegunde, who provided the accounts used for perpetrating the fraud; Olamide Ojajinu, who took the victims to the house; Segun Adewale and Matthew Adeniyi.The suspects who became unreachable after the money was paid, were arrested after the state police command received a distress call from the newly-wed couple.

Parading the suspects, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police Zubairu Mu’azu said; 

“Five suspects, Mathew Adeniyi, 42; Olamide Ojaniju, 42; Elabor Aruoya, 61; Adeshina Abegunde, 54; and Segun Adewale, were arrested. Investigation revealed that the same gang of fraudsters, had on Saturday, December 15, 2018, collected the sum of N3m as rent for a duplex in Ikeja GRA, in the same manner from the a pastor in Lekki. They will be charged to court.”

The Nigerian police has arrested 2 of its officers, for allegedly killing an NSCDC officer yesterday in the presence of his family. Recall that we reported yesterday that Late Ogar Jombo, an Assistant Superintendent of the NSCDC was stopped by the policemen for an alleged violation of traffic rules. He was however beaten to death by the policemen in the presence of his wife and children. 


However the Commissioner of Police in the FCT, Mr Bala Ciroma who confirmed the arrest and detention of 2 officers allegedly responsible for killing the NSCDC officer, told News agency of Nigeria (NAN) that investigation was ongoing to unravel the cause of the incident.It was further gathered that the late Jombo was taking his children to school in the morning when the unfortunate incident occurred.

Femi Ogedengbe, the actor who left Nollywood to become a security guard in United States has narrated his ordeal on social media, after being kidnapped by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Edo State. In his lengthy post, Femi Ogedengbe who narrated his ordeal said he was kidnapped by suspected Fulani herdsmen while on his way to his younger sister’s traditional marriage billed to take place in Jattu.

A large number of vehicles were trapped in between.As I tried to open my door one of them came to my side pointing an AK47 at me. I quickly raised up my hands and pleaded with him not to shoot. I gave him my wallet which he collected and put in his pocket.As I was alighting from my car another Fulani man charged at me with his dagger. I begged him not to stab me. He pushed me to the side of the road and into the bush. They also took other people hostage.

Due to the challenge I have with my legs I was just falling and getting up and they were dragging and threatening to kill me if I did not move. Luckily for me I was wearing pressure stockings on my left leg. When one of our abductors saw it he asked what was wrong with me. I told him that my leg was broken, hence the difficulty in walking. He offered his shoulder for me to lean on while traversing the bush. The other abductees were taken by others in front and two of them were assisting me to walk while one gave a safe distance behind us. They were strategic!Whenever I tripped and fell they threatened to kill me. I was begging throughout.

At a point I asked one of them, that appeared a bit friendly, to please leave me as I was slowing them down, he said no that their oga said they must bring me and that if I refused to move they should kill me. When they realized that I truly had challenged with my legs another joined the one assisting me. I held them both on their shoulders while I struggled to move. They must have taken me for about three kilometers into that bush when suddenly they heard the sound of a motorcycle. One gave the order to seize the okada. They jumped on the road and ordered the farmer to stop, pushed him down and collected the motorcycle.We met the other abductees on the way lying face down. There were two women and five men. The men were being beaten with heavy sticks. They rode past them and took me to a tomatoes farm. I came down and was asked to sit down. I immediately obeyed. They warned me to stop looking at their faces or else they would kill me. I begged for my life like I have fever done before.

Deji Adeyanju who resigned his membership of 'Our Mumu Don Do' group, has released evidence of Charly Boy confessing to collecting money from Festus Keyamo.Deji Adeyanju released evidence of Charly Boy confessing to collecting money from Festus Keyamo, a day after he disclosed that the singer confessed to him that he collected money from President Muhammadu Buhari to attack Atiku before the presidential election.

In the audio obtained by SaharaReporters on Thursday, Charlyboy was allegedly heard, saying he met with Festus Keyamo and collected money from him. He however did not disclose the purpose of the money.

Alan Krueger, a famed economist and economic advisor to Barack Obama and Bill Clinton has reportedly committed suicide at 58. Alan Krueger who committed suicide, was a Princeton University economics professor who served as chief economist for the U.S. Department of Labor during the Clinton administration and chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisers during Obama's time in office.

"It is with tremendous sadness we share that Professor Alan B. Krueger, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and Princeton professor of economics took his own life over the weekend. Oladipupo Adebutu, a factional  governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2019 elections in Ogun State has disclosed why he worked against Dapo Abiodun, the Governor-elect of the state. It was gathered that Abiodun and Adebutu are natives of Remo in Ogun State, however the PDP Governorship candidate teamed up with the governorship candidate of the  Allied People’s Movement, Adekunle Akinlade, against Abiodun in the governorship election after his loss in court to governorship candidate of the PDP, Senator Buruji Kashamu. Adebutu who revealed why he worked against

Dapo Abiodun in a statement released by his media aide, Afolabi Orekoya,  said he was merely interested in making a government that works for the people. He also disclosed that he will not defect to the APC, but will support the governor-elect in the interest of the people.

A Nigerian student identified as Emelife Stella Chinelo, who enrolled for an M.Sc in Chemistry at the University of Mysore, has received 20 medals and five cash prizes over her 9.263% final grade point. 

The Nigerian student who received the 20 medals and five cash prizes from University of Mysore at the school's 99th annual convocation on Sunday, is said to be the first foreign student in  recent years to bag so many gold medals.  It was gathered that the University of Mysore has over 1,000 foreign students, pursuing under-graduate and post-graduate courses in colleges affiliated to it and in Manasagangotri.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation, JAMB, has fixed a new date for the mock exam which was previously scheduled for Saturday, March 23, 2019.JAMB in a new announcement made by its head of media, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, fixed Monday, April 1, 2019  as the new date for the 2019 mock exam.

The exam body which said the postponement was due to circumstances beyond the Board’s control, also told candidates who indicated interest in the mock examination at the point of registration and had since printed their mock examination notification slips not to print another one.The Exam body which stated that all details on the slips remain the same except the examination date which is now April 1, 2019, added that the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation examination (UTME) has been scheduled to begin from Thursday, April 11, 2019 while candidates are to begin the printing of the 2019 UTME notification slips from Tuesday, April 2, 2019.

The police have arrested an Oyo lawmaker over House of Representatives member, Honourable Temitope 'Sugar' Olatoye's death over the weekend. The arrested Oyo lawmaker who is the Chief Whip of Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Wasiu Olafisoye Akinmoyede, was arrested in connection to Olatoye's death during the governorship election in the state. Hon. Wasiu who represents Lagelu state constituency have been the political rival of the deceased, and it was gathered that the police have already written a letter to the state house of assembly that he is currently under investigation.

Daily Trust reported that the Oyo lawmaker who was arrested on Tuesday night and taken to Abuja for prosecution according to the law, was fingered in the death of Olatoye to his gang following unrepentant rivalry between the two figures in the constituency.The Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt Honourable Olagunju Ojo, in an interview with newsmen confirmed that the House was notified through a letter that Honourable Akinmoyede is under investigation.

Father Mbaka who spoke about President Buhari's victory during his Wednesday weekly prayer meeting, in his prayer ground Umuchigbo-Nike Enugu, warned politicians to stop ignoring him. Father Mbaka who stated that religious inclination was a gift that God bestowed on him to save the captives and preach the message of God to his people, warned politicians to stop ignoring him as he has never sold his gifts in the market. He said:

“The gift I have is not sold in the market, neither do you get it anywhere in the world. So, when I prophesy you are not in a position to criticize the prophecy I give because it is from the oracle of the Holy Spirit.“Those who are still plotting for the downfall of the adoration ministry should remember the present condition of Mr. Peter Obi, politically, and if they don’t desist from that, they will be failing in all their endeavours.“The victory of President Muhammadu Buhari is divine. Could anybody believe that after all the insults that were thrown at him, that at the end of the day Buhari will win the presidential election? So, his victory has spiritual connotation.

“Even in Enugu state, didn’t you see what happened? I told Senator Ayogu Eze the Governorship candidate of the APC that he will not win the Governorship election, that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi will finish his eight years in Office. Didn’t it happen? Out of over 400,000 votes that were cast, was it not 10,000 and something votes that he got? So my prophecy is not from man rather from God.“Those of you who are criticising Buhari that he is not doing well should be mindful of your utterances. I could recall in 2012 when there was oil boom in the country I told the Nigeria President then, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and his associates to save for the raining days and they did not heed my advice, rather they told me not to interfere in politics; that I should mind my pastoral work.“So, the present hunger and famine in the land was not caused by Buhari but by the Jonathan administration. We should even thank God for giving us a type like Buhari who knows how to spend prudently.”
