No idea.

But Sultaan was saying the other day that a failed or failing Caty can be washed with soda or some chemicals and it will be good again. I have forgotten the thread he posted it with video link of how to wash the caty provided. I think he is in a better position to explain better.

berem: Interesting!!

BTW, Politics Section is really making some of you go nutts! Why don't you take a break from that section and try to visit other sections? I have lost some nairaland friends of Yoruba origin due to the tribalism nonsense going on in politics section. Some people have taken their tribalism off nairaland. I don't wanna lose more friends. My ban on politics section has made me realize than tribalism starts and end on politics section. The section is virtually boring due to the bans most of the forumites are serving. politics section will never remain the same.

As i said before, take a break from politics section and see how wonderful nairaland can be. wink

You can try visiting romance section. it will soothe your body and soul. wink
Just like i lost you too in Politics section. Can we be friends again, please?

OAM4J: How low can you go in your pursuit of self-righteousness? Blaming everyone else for your failures with your lies and exaggeration of events to the extent of now putting Igbo against Yorubas, the very thing you claimed you were fighting against? Very pathetic!

What more is there to say as the reason you resigned that you have not said already in your epistles. You resigned because OAM4J and Mukina2 were against some of your actions. Abeg feel free to say more if there are more. I don't have the time to take you up on those, you can keep shouting it for as long as you like if it makes you feel better.

But for the new dangerous trend you are bringing in; I would have love to retain this thread here for it's comic relief, your plot of subtly renewing Igbo Vs Yoruba war in a bid to achieve whatever you are looking for is against our current stand for peace, harmony and oneness. I have to therefore move the thread to general section. Apology to PointB.

You can continue your campaign there.
Thanks for finally moving the thread out of the Politics section. To be honest, i wasnt comfortable when it was there. But then, am not the original poster, so i have no right to request for it to be moved.

Honestly, i dont have any issue with your above post. So i wasnt expecting less. Probably, i would have done the same.

The thing is, am not faceless on this forum. Members bring their cars to me on daily basis to scan, suggest and sometimes fix the issues with their vehicles, for those that stay in Abuja. Others call and mail me, seeking for solution for their vehicle issues. So, am not faceless and i want to keep that way. Because of that, there are certain accusations i cannot keep silent over. Even if they are right, i have to tell my side of the story. I dont knkw where i may find myself tomorrow and some of this accusations/issues will be raised and since i was silent on them when they were raised, that means am guilty as charged. Its something i learnt from a friend, a forum member in Politics section. Guess what? He is a Yoruba. He saw how i was ignoring some of the things i was been accused of and he contacted me offline and enlightened me on the implication of silence on those issues.

So sorry, even if what everybody is saying about me is right; even if my own story will prove them right, i have to say it for posterity.

A faceless member has the luxury to ignore or take blames for what he thinks he didnt do, but i dont have that luxury. A faceless member may say whatever he/she likes and get away with it, but i cant get away with it if i do so. Even if i actually failed in Politics section as a moderator, let the world judge by hearing my side of the story, not what the members assumed that happened. But of course, i didnt say everything because i dont need to.

Fortunately, the thread is about me while i was a mod in Politics section. So its an opportunaty to treat some issues i have been keeping quiet over with, since they brought them up here.

Like i said, i dont have that luxury like you to keep silent since am not faceless and the thread is about me. Thank God for the Public Holiday which gave me the time for this thread. Ordinally, am a very busy person. I hardly have time to reply posts on weekdays.

Sometimes I wonder if we really understand what we are doing.

Back then at Awka, i was rushing to a lecture and entered a bus. On our way to UNIZIK permanent site, along Ifite-road, our bus collided with another bus, face to face. I was sitting in the front. Of course, i wasnt wearing seat belt. The impact threw me up and hit my foreward on the windscreen. Luckily, i survived but suffered severe headache the whole week. Since then, i didnt need the road safety to police me about to wear my seat belt. I have become so use to wearing seat belt such that sometimes whenever i enter my car to pick or check something, i would put on the seat belt before i know it. Before i ever slot the key on the ignition, the seat belt would have been buckled around me. A friend of my brother drove out from his compound and the wife sitting on front passenger seat. A vehicle from nowhere came and crashed on them. He was wearing seat belt, but the wife wasnt. The impact threw the wife and she hit her head on the windscreen and it smashed into pieces. Luckily, she was not injured. She was pregnant at that time. All because Road saftey was not around to force her wear the belt. Since, i always insist that whoever that is sitting on the passengers seat in my car must wear the belt before i move the car, road safety or not road safety.

My point? You dont have to wait for a Moderator to ban you before you stop promoting hatred between two tribes. Moderator will not replace your loss if anything would happen tomorrow because of what you brought upon yourself. I could have died that day if the impact have threw me out of that car and the car climbed over me. I could have died that day if i was the one driving and hit my chest on the steering wheel since i wasnt wearing the seat belt. Road safety can be on every road to implement the seat belt rule. But knowing the consequences of not wearing the seat belt if accident happens should be enough to make one safeguard him/herself, whether the road officers are watching or not. Posting offensive comments against a tribe will only encourage hostility, which will someday result to physical. Your parents, siblings, relations, loved ones could be a victim, including you yourself. Nemesis will also catch up with us for whatever evil we commit in the name of catching fun with our keyboards in Nairaland. So, asking for moderators to allow you to continue with your fun, will at the end of day be your loss. Even those members here hailing you, supporting you in your inhuman course will not come and take the wrath you brought upon yourself from you. Each man to his problem. Forgot the moderators and save yourself and loved ones.

Ngwakwe: @Ikenna
Your intentions were noble but your regime had a wrong foundation in that you first destroyed your constituency in a bid to appear neutral and you were applauded by the S/Westerners and Nduchuks.

However, when you sat for the real business of the day and tried to shutdown S/W bigots as you did to people from Eastern Region, they fought back through their madam at the top and brother in the room and Ikenna having destroyed his base was easily overwhelmed.

The moral lessons are; don't be more Nigerian than your constituency and don't use your people to set example by sentencing them to death when community service should be the verdict.

I got this chip in my Laboratory, just researching on how best to synchronise its automated functions with human brain especially for those "I too know" Nairalanders.
You got it wrong.

From day 1, no username that insulted any tribe or member in Politics section was spared, when i was here. But i observed that while i was doing that, some members ban were been lifted, while others were serving their ban. You can ask the Admin to check my mod log and report to you with the list of all the members i banned in Politics section the first few weeks i assumed work and the list of the members in that list that were unbanned by people i work with. I complained in the mod section about it, but of course, i was wasting my time.

It got to a point, i decided to start following those members that would always be unbanned by a super mod each time i banned them. It was at that point that i realised that almost all of them were Yorubas, when they started complaining.

A member would insult a Yoruba tribe or a member who claimed to be a Yoruba, i would ban him/her and he/she would serve his/her ban. But when a member, who claimed to be a Yoruba, insulted other tribes other than Yoruba or non Yoruba member, i would ban the member and few mins or hours later, the member would be unbanned by someone else. In that case, my work was been seen by members as selective justice: would ban Igbos and other tribal bigots and would leave Yoruba bigots because they were untouchable and immune from my ban. It was that bad.

They said, "if you cant beat them, join them". I hate that phrase. To me, if you cant beat them, walk away. We all know about Lot vs Soddom & Gomorroh. Lot couldnt beat them, he couldnt stop the immoralities going on in that land, so he walked away from the land. Well, we know what happened to the land and the people while he was leaving. Noah & Ark is another example here. What happened to the rest of the people in the worl because of their immoralities when Noah left them and stayed in the Ark with his family, is what i believe we all i know.

Like i said in last post here as a co-mod (i do not remember the exact words), "I will never be part of certain things as long as I breath". Trust me, you do not want to know the remaining reasons behind that statement.

Funny enough, some of the so called "Ikenna's obnoxious rules" are been re-introduced here recently. Yes, i could see how absence of "Ikenna's rules" have helped in eradicating tribal bashing here all these while.

So Ngwakwe, there were so many things you do not know that happened which led to my resignation. I would suggest we leave the past. I would like your present leaders here to succeed in this fight against the virus here. Because i like reading some intelligent members posts/comments here, and may likely start contributing in discussions here, when it has become sane enough for me. Note that I have my Bsc in Psc.

It depends.

If you have been using water in the cooling system and you have started seeing rusty coloured water in the radiator when engine is running, its also likely that inside your radiator has clogged too. In that case, you may have to remove the radiator and do thorough cleaning, both inside and outside.

Tolexander: actually, you made some mistakes due to you being hyperactive short tempered.
Well, i remembered what i said to the Admin, Seun, what i took the appointment, that he should expect some mistakes from me while in the difficult task. I remembered few members i apologised to, like Desola, for wrongly banning her and the apology i tendered to OAM4J for wrongly accusing him of something. So, yes, i made some mistakes am not denying because am not some gods. But its about learning from the mistakes and not repeating them.

But inspite of my mistakes, at no point/time did i lose my focus. I knew what i was getting myself into when i accepted that appointment. I knew that to get the job done, i didnt need to seek for friends here because it could pull me down. Even some friends i had before i became co-mod here joined the bandwagon of "Ikenna must go". Berem is a case study. We used to be friends before i became co-mod here. I remembered when i had a power surge issue on my LCD TV. I was too lazy to take it out and fix it. I told her about and she was always on my neck to go and find out what the problem was, until i finaly gave in. Fortunate enough, it was just a re-soldering that fixed the problem and till date, the TV has been working well, thanks to her. I was even thinking of getting another when next i could afford it, since i was thinking fixing it might cost more the TV, considering complex nature of LCD technology. But she insulted a member someday. Of course, i had no option than to penalize her like others, because i despise selective justice with passion. Since then, i have become her enemy. But it was what i signed up for. I was ready to live with that. It was dirty job that needed to be done.

This morning, there was this news about a teen who committed suicide on CNN. All because of cyberbulling.

You may think its called freedom of expression. Well, as long as you have caused loss of live somewhere, you wil surely pay for it. See, irrespective of our spiritual beliefs, nature has away of taking care of things. Pollute the land with blood, and it will come back and haunt you, whether you believe in God or not. Nature was designed to take care of itself.

As a Catholic, not just a Catholic, but someone with Seminary background, grave sins are not just your deeds/actions or utterances, but also your inaction or things you fail to do. What have you done with the position you find yourself to prevent evil from spreading? What were you able do in your position to save lives? The position you find yourself, how did you use it to impact positively in people's lives? All these questions would tell you where i was coming from while i was here. And i would want each and everyone of us to ask and answer those questions to ourselves.

You are spreading hatred among tribes and you think you have nothing to lose? I dont think so. Like i said, nature has away of dealing with us, for every of our actions, utterances and inactions. The elders among in your family will that better. Consequences come in various forms or means: children, unborn children, businesses, health, etc. If you think you are rich enough not to become poor in life again, better think again. Ask some of our people in our villages and they will tell you better. You think you are too young to type whatever you like behind keyboard, all in the name of fun? Think again. Ask those who went out and never came back to their homes with full part of the body. You think accidents are made for some people and not you? You think when you cause loss of live with your keyboard, that your own body will remain intact? Like i said, nature has a way of taking care of itself. Pollute land with human blood and it will deal with you accodingly.

What can i say? Change when you still have the chance.

payless: Ikenna was a rude and know it all of a moderator. I knew Ikenna days were numbered when he was trying to be macho and started banning Yorubas. Ikenna came to politics section with an agenda. His agenda became crystal clear within few days he became a moderator in politics section. You heard it from me first, Sexkills (Bonfere Jo) is next to go Ikena's route.

For those of you who still think Ikenna resigned on his own volition, no he did not. He was pushed out like a thiefing houseboy.
Posts/comments like this makes me regret why i didnt state the reasons for my resignation as co-mod in Politics section back then. Believe me, you are not even close to what happened back then. But its all in the past now. But i stated my reasons in the moderators section. So if you really really want to know, you can ask the Admin to copy and paste those my reasons here, word by word.

Op,

I didnt suggest you pull out the radiator and A/C condenser for washing. I said, use pressure water to flush the fins via the front grille. Remove that plastic front grille to have access to the condenser/radiator. Leave the condenser and radiator where they are in the engine bay and blow the fins from the car front. I dont know how else to explain it.

Please, make sure you cover the Alternator and other electric components close to the radiator before doing the above.

kadbus: hello house,
I scanned my Fox and got a faulty pre-02 sensor. The bad o2 sensor part no is 1628 7r and i got 0258006027 in the market. Can i change it to 0258006027 or wait till i get 1628 7r?
1628 is the Peugeot Part number. I only saw one o2 sensor with that part number at Gudu market. Its difficult to find.

You can replace it with any Universal Bosch o2 sensor (4 wires: 2 whites, 1 grey & 1 black wires). Even the one you removed is Bosch as well, i believe. Only that they produced them for Peugeot and stamped Peugeot part number on it.

By pre-o2, i believe you mean the upstream sensor. It should have green connector, not blue. The blue connector o2 is the downstream sensor, one after the caty. Just make sure you put exactly Bosch o2 sensor with the same coloured connector.

Car TalkRe: What Is First Thing To Come Up When Starting Your Car, Radiator Fan Or Engine? by Ikenna351(m):
enquirydon: @ Ikenna351

any effect ,if fan come first or last
A lot.

1. If your radiator fan comes on first before engine starts or while starting the car at very cold outside temp expecially in the morning, the fans will place heavy load on the Alternator motor. That will make the Alternator motor to drag the Alternator pulley. Because the Alternator pulley is driven by Crankshaft pulley via Auxiallialy belt, the Alternator pulley will cause drag to the belt and the crankshaft will have to work a little bit harder to drive the dragging Alternator pulley, so that it doesnt stall. This will cause severe friction on the crankshaft journals or other lubricating parts in the engine, since the oil is cold and not warm enough to lubricate those parts well. Over labouring the engine when its cold will cause severe friction inside the engine, which with time will become prononced. Thats why cars with climate control system dont switch on the A/C compressor while cranking the engine, even though the A/C button is on. The compressor will start spinning few seconds after the engine has started running, depending on the outside temp. Those electric fans carries so much load. If you want to comfirm what am saying, if your fans are connected to spin constantly, disconnect them at night, start the car, switch on the headlight, go inside the car, have someone connect the fans back, as soon as they start spinning (especially at the speed 2 for Peugeots/highest speed for other brands), you will see the headlights and instrument cluster lights dim and would go brighter when you disconnect them, even with the engine running. Just like what your starter does to the battery while cranking the engine.

2. Another effect is the over cooling of your engine at cold temperature. When you start your car in the morning and wheather is very cold, the fans need to stay off for the engine to warm up faster, so that the engine oil will warmp up faster too and start its lubricating job properly. But with the fans on, the fans will be pushing or sucking the cold air from the radiator and spreading on already cold engine, making it difficult for the cold engine to warm up. Its like pouring very cold water on Ice. Thats why it takes ages for temp gauge of cars with constant spinning fans to rise to the middle of the gauge (normal operating temp for the engine), which make the engine suffer before the gauge finally indicates normal temp.

3. Antother effect is the fan lifespan is shotten. The radiator fan motor is not designed to spin constantly and on high speed or speed 2. Doing that makes them die sooner than expected. Even their bearings too. For example, yoir A/C blower. If you are laways leaving it at speed 4 or full speed, then the blower bearing or motor will give up soon. So doing such connection will make your fans die over and over, no matter how many times you replace them.

Etc.

Car TalkRe: Engine Gets So Hot Yet Temperature Meter Reads Normal: Rav4 by Ikenna351(m): 12:38pm On Aug 07, 2013
I dont know about Toyota, but I do know for Peugeots, Temperature switch/CTS are located on the inner side Thermostat housing, before the thermostat itself. So that the Temp switch or CTS will give the actual temp of coolant in the engine, not temp of coolant from the radaitor. What overboils the coolant is thr engine, not the radaiator, which is why coolant in the engine is been monitored via temp switch and/or CTS. Thats Peugeot cooling system for you.

Notwithstanding, i would want you to carryout these tests below, to determine how good your thermostat and water pump is, incase any of them is the culprit:

When next the overheating starts, stop the car, switch off the engine and open the bonnet. Locate the lower and upper radiator hoses, and touch each of the hoses with your palms/hands. If the upper hose is extremely hot and lower hose cold at such high engine temperature, then your water pump or thermostat must have failed. Usually, it should be the thermostat (if yours is still present in the engine), but if you have been using water in your cooling system, then it could be that your water pump blades has rusted and disintegrated, making the pump to stop pumping. Water is a main killer of water pump. Aside coolant preventing water pump blades from rusting, it also serves as a lubricant on the water pump.

To individually test water pump and thermostat, remove the upper hose from the thermostat housing, remove the themostat (if yours is still there), have someone start the car, while you stay and observe the thermostat housing in the engine bay. As soos as the car starts, coolant is suppose to start flowing/gushing out (coolant trapped in the engine behind thermostat). If that happens, your water pump is ok. Your thermostat is then the culprit. You maynot even bother to test the thermostat, just go aheadand replace it with new one (though, it wouldnt hurt to test it). Before you put in that new thermostat, test it in a pot of boiling water to be sure its opening anf closing as water gets hotter and cooler. You can use thermometer, if you have one, to confirm if it opens at temp engraved on the thermostat.

Test 2: If both upper and lower radiator hoses are hot, then your water pump is likely the suspect, not the thermostat. But a cooling system with air trapped in would give the same symptom, except that it would force coolant out from your expansion bottle or radiator cap,no matter how tight it is, depending on your system.

By the way, when was the last time you pressure wash your radiator fins through the front grille? I dont mean opening up your radiator, but the fins through which air passes from the front grille while car is in motion or when the fans push or sucks heat out of the radiator. If those fins get blocked with dirts, your fans wont be able to suck or push heat out of the radiator with hot coolant. Once in a while, take your car for such cleaning. Just remove your front grille and ask them to blow both the A/C condenser and radiator from that opening.

Goodluck.

I couldnt find 195/60 R15, so i bought the above at Coal Camp Enugu. But it messed up the handling, which i observed on my way back to Abuja. Note that the other 3 wheels have 195/60 R15 (Factory size). I got to Abuja, bought and replace it with the factory size: 195/60 R15. Since then, it has been in my house, forgotten that i have it.

So, you if you really need it, i mean, really need to replace your worn out tyre which is 195/65 R15, then contact me off the forum, so that i tell you when and where to come and pick the tyre. But i will need to see and be convinced that you really need the tyre on your car and not to pick it and sell. Because i also know i can resale, but decided to do give it out instead.

I also want to encourage us to do more of this among ourselves.

PointB: Hmm, where do one start addressing this topic?

Should I start by saying 'Kabiyesi o' to Ji-su-pac(r) aka Rhino.dm the self acclaimed leader of yoruba on NL?

Or perhaps I should check out what 'yorubas are' on google as been suggested by many posters?

Perhaps I should start by parting big brother yoruba for dragging Igbos back into Nigeria from Biafra - so that they can be grateful to them forever!

Maybe I should commend OAM4J for bringing up this overflogged issue over tribalism, nay, bigotry, to the fore for another season of short-lived sanity?

Maybe I should commend indignant posters here who as so 'sophiscated' that they dont know if their problem is caused by Seun, Afam, Sexkilz, OAM4J, sincere9gerian or Eze Ndi Igbo - anyone but themselves?

Perhaps I should... Perhaps I should just sit down with pop-corn and enjoy the whinning. It's just so funny to see adult spew venom for imaginary cause.

Perhaps I should just keep quite knowing fully well that bigotry does not pay for my internet connection.

I wish OAM4J all the best in his efforts and bid him to read the Chronicles of Ikenna Chapter 1 - 35

Desola: Threatening people with a lifetime ban like say na new tin.

You be God?

These boys just piss me right off! Most especially the Yoruba ones that would act f00lishly just to be seen as politically correct.

Effing hypocrites! You and Seun are doing the Yorubas a great disservice on this forum and I think it is high time Yoruba forumites starts to demand some respect or we boycott this nonsense!

Enough is enough!
My dear Desola,

Missed me? Lol!

On a serious note. I may not always agree with OAM4J, but dont you think you are being unfair to him, his co-mods and the Admin? What has he said here that is so wrong that would warrant name calling and condemning his intention to sanitize this section?

I would advice you cooperate with them.

ujchief: I miss you! You had this vision of a more healthy politics section. Don't know what finally transpired but if your blueprint was implemented, we would have had a better section; or, it may not have. gotten this bad.
I miss you guys too. It's well.

Car TalkRe: What Is First Thing To Come Up When Starting Your Car, Radiator Fan Or Engine? by Ikenna351(m): 4:55pm On Aug 03, 2013
Engine first, no matter the number of cylinders (including viscous fan coupling, except the mechanical locked fan like PAN XN1 engine in 504 & 505).

Electric and Viscous fan would spin 30 minutes later or so depending on the coolant temperature or with A/C on.

2mch: So the thread showing Obi did the same thing never made front page but other useless emotional thread by ibos did? Almost 3 right now. This is not balanced. We are watching mukinatu. Keep hiding the truth and fostering hatred then try to pretend that you want peace. Yoruba people don't need any big brother or sympathy rubbish. The two threads showing Peter obi's reunion must also make front page. At this point in time it is relevant.
smh!

So to you, Politcs section is all about Igbo vs Youruba tribes? Why not suggest to Admin to change the section name to Igbo vs Yoruba section? Again, smh!

eamodu: Good day house, oga ikenna.pls av not had time 2 follow up on d trend.but I av an issue with my lion.1st it was anti pollution faults,nw it brings out black smoke.ma mechanic says I need to change ma engine,n dts d final answer if I want 2 njoy d ride.pls is he right?พαт can I do 2 salavge d situation?Ŧђɑ̤̥̈̊п̥̥kƨ̇ n God bless.will be expecting 2 hear from you sir
Dont listen to him. Anti-pollution fault and black smoke means excessive fueling, which means one or two of sensors/components that determines the amount of fuel that goes into the combustion chambers is faulty. A failed CTS will give those symptoms (CTS cost 5k). Also a failed oxygen sensor, MAP, wrong connection or even clogged fuel filter would give you the Anti-pollution fault.

Solution? Simply scan the car to know which of the sensors that is causing the problems.
