Niyi53: Assalamu alaikum. I am an Ahmadi muslim and NOBODY is having the right to call a person who says he is a muslim, a kafir. All those answering the question have turned themselves to muftis. Welldone. They do not read the hadith of the holy prophet (saw) to know the person the holy prophet called a muslim. Most of this people who are answering your question do not know about ahmadiyya but they rely on heresy. The holy quran says in sura Hujurat vs 6 if a news comes to you, you should make investigation about it, ' i dont know why they go against the true teachings of the quran. The ahmadiyya community is NEVER SUPPORTED BY ANY GOVT BODY NOR BY THE BRITISH. Pls do investigate when a news comes to you. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad connot be supported by the british because he has destroyed the bases of their religion when he proclaimed that JESUS NEVER DIED ON THE CROSS. It is the support of Allah we are having. I dont know why we are been branded kafirs. There are some people who do not accept the authority of the hadith, some gives superiority to the hadith than the quran, some even believe that hazrat Ali is the one that supposed to be the prophet, etc. I dont know when belief in jesus became an article of faith. One other thing is that why do this people want us to pray behind them after declaring us to be kafirs. Why dont you call the christian to come and worship with you. I rest my case. Niyi53,I fully understand your passions, but you must understand all the comments about ahmadiyya are reflective of all of us as human beings including yourself. WE ALL BELIEVE WE ARE RIGHT & everyone else is in error. A cursory look at your own post underscores this fact i.e the christian is wrong,Ahmadiyya is correct. Why not just hold on to your faith, aspire for holiness & don't bother with people who do not agree with you. The christian too will come here & say muslims are worshipping the moon (I have heard this many times). So the criticism of Ahmadiyya by 'fellow muslims' is reflective of how we are all wired as human beings & it takes a really deep mind to break out of this standard reaction. Just food for thought. Eid Mubarak. |

IbrahimB: Please it should be noted that if you are to make a sacrifice, you should not shave your hair (or any bodily hair) or cut off nails, until after Eid.
Also not eating before Eid is only required from the person making the sacrifice; if you're not making sacrifice, then no harm to have breakfast before Eid.
Yes illusion2, it's a religious section and what's so irreligious about what she said? Cleanliness is next to Godliness 1. I don't think she needs to be so explicit (strictly my opinion) 2. I happen to like pubic hair a lot & don't think its 'unclean' |

Kobojunkie: Now I know for 90% sure you are just a child with access to a computer. My deduction was drawn by considering the following: a) The question about gender was not asked by you, so why are you the even bothered by the answer given in response? b) Still no answer on to any of the questions asked you, even the ones you claim to INSULT to wee little feelings there seriously, you do not need to post anything at all. We can forgive you for trying hard to make light the situation in a country with over 75% of the population considering POOR. It might be a joke to you but some of us do not take it lightly. So, no need continuing to respond at all if you have nothing substantial to add to your side of the debate( if any). Like I said, just state your point(s) ,allow others to hold their own opinions w/out been disagreeable. We can all pull together. I started the thread, but it took a turn for worse & I needed to put you on notice about personal insults. As per your 'questions',I suspect you know better . |

tensor777: @illusion I am not sure why you are twisting this thread to be a kobojunkie bashing one. Is it because she dismantled your spurious points and this is your way at getting even? You really need to grow up. In fact I would say that you need not have opened this thread in the first place. You had me cracking up there- 'you need to grow up' very funny indeed , all these teeny boppers get to travel on student visas & start insulting their seniors? I will address your posts despite my reservations. 1.This is a public forum,EVERYONE is entitled to his/her opinion. 2.The thread(like all threads) is meant to elicit responses,in agreement or otherwise. 3.I strongly suspect Kobojunkie is old enough to respond for herself, why not mind your own business? |

Tippy Top: The language spoken by more people is Mandarin, spoken by over 1,000,000,000, people. It will supersede English if you want to do business in future. Chinaman won't have to learn English considering they would be the sole super power. Mandarin am afraid is the future. Emphasis on WIDELY,in business,as a service provider or manufacturer you are expected to learn the language of your CUSTOMERS,its the Chinese that need to learn ENGLISH. However as the domestic consupmtion of China grows & they begin to do more IMPORTS,yes companies interested in doing business IN CHINA will need to understand MANDARIN or CANTONESE. A good example is the current 2nd largest economy in the world(japan) they have been producing most of our automobiles for many decades now,I don't understand Japanese, neither do many Nigerians, however they need to understand us ,cos they are selling TO YOU & I,same will apply to China. Same should hold hypothetically for Hausa,Igbo & Yoruba (& french cos of our neighbours)languages,if we can just get our acts together. |
Politics › Re: Okoya-thomas Wants Nigerians To Learn French by illusion2: 12:03pm On Nov 21, 2009 |
Tippy Top: We should be learning "Mandarin" the official Chinese language. Next few years belongs to China so says experts. Even America anticipate and recognise the future shift in power and is now busy teaching their kids "Mandarin" and "how to do business with Asians". Lets also pretend we love "chinks" by speaking to them in their own mother tongue. Our kids would thank us if we do this for them. Sadly the present government lack foresight so I can't see it happening. I personally do not agree that we all need to speak Mandarin. china exists because consumers all over the world require their goods, the domestic consumption in china is just being developed,as its a largely export driven economy. learning any language has its advantages, but i don't see the HUGE benefits of Mandarin in the future. English is popular because its widely spoken. donjon: @illusion, Outside multinational companies, embassies & foreign aid organizations, what other job offers does french bring? You have answered this yourself. . . . . . another reason is that NIGERIAN companies are expanding into the ECOWAS region & beyond & only trully bi-lingual peeps stand a chance,I rmber Glo was looking desperately for French speaking engineers sme time back while moving into Benin. This trend will continue. The list is endless. donjon: Thousands of students fail Waec/Neco/Jamb etc becuase of English & Maths! Yet, the obviously womanliness whipped mogul, wants Nigerians to learn french! I agree with you partially on the importance of learning foreign lingua, but lets set our priorities in the right order I agree we have a lot of problems with our current educational system, which is a general reflection of the complete failure of leadership in Nigeria, however that doesn't mean we should not have visionary ideas. The man Okoya-Thomas,actually puts his money where his mouth is & is probably the single largest private sponsor of French education in Nigeria at the moment. |

He's not foolish.
Its a very good idea & will help our future labour force.
The world is getting global and having multiple languages can only enhance one's chances.
We however need to start from early stages (Primary 1). |
