Rewind come back small. I quoted John 3v16 saying WHOSOEVER believes in him will not perish. I implied that anyone/everyone can have a go at salvation. I didn't say all will be saved, instead ANYONE/WHOSOEVER believes, not some 'chosen' sect.
Then came someone saying whosoever means 'not all' or as many as. That's why I put the two words in place of WHOSOEVER in John 3v16 to show how different they sound. They sure didn't look synonymous in that passage.

A religious zombie accusing others unlike him of not being able to reason is a good one, most especially coming from one to whom reasoning is devil's work, heresy and a blasphemy.
And what does a christian like image and his fellow zombies know about spirituality? Religiousity and spirituality are not one and the same thing.

Rubbish analogy. Perspectively speaking, your god, yahweh, is a frigging lying and genocidal lunatic. And that is the truth going by yahweh's very own perspective and the perspective of his own very word, the bible. No wonder Lucifer rebelled against him, because yahweh is the exact opposite of Lucifer. Lucifer is the light bringer(according to the meaning of the name) while yahweh is the bringer of darkness(from his very own perspective through his own very "word", the bible) And since light cannot stay with darkness, Lucifer the lightbringer had to rebel against yahweh the darkness spreader, perspectively speaking. grin
Is this objectivity or spirituality? You seem to be on a bewildered perspective, not all perspective are safe/right. Take note

Choose again.
Which would you prefer?
a-Not all that believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
b-As many as believe in him will not perish but have eternal life.
This are the strong meanings of 'whosoever', se? English, english.
You want a Bible study?pray hard, I may just find the time.

'Unable to reason'
That's just the description. And to think that we've 'come down' to reason with them, seeing they could never get it the spiritual way i.e knowing their state.
mazaje &cohorts
Perspective is what you're missing. Let me try your case again. A man hangs himself, another is sentenced to death by hanging. One is considered a lawful action, the other is unlawful.
A person is un be killed tomorrow by firing squad. An inmate snatches same gun and shoots him to death. Both are killings. One is by order, one is murder. Perspective, perspective.

English is what is disturbing you. So John 3v16 is not part of the Bible. Now whosoever means 'not all'. I laugh in nairaland. Your 'goal' has been ruled offside forever, probably through predestination.
Christianity Etc › Re: Can A Believer Lose Salvation? by Image123(m): 11:36pm On Apr 26, 2010
You're ignoring the fact that nobody has said that salvation is gotten by good works. Grace is what saves us, your question is AFTER this saving/salvation, can we lose it? The answer is yes, mr, yes. God will not warn us if there's no danger.take heed, beware, lest he fall, or be a castaway, or return to wallowing in the mire.
Christianity Etc › Re: Not Ordained To Life Eternal by Image123(m): 3:23pm On Apr 26, 2010
You're wrong because the Bible says WHOSOEVER believes will not perish but have eternal life(John 3). How 'specific' is that? The plan of salvation is clear, ordained from the foundation of the world, but everyone can have a go for it if you do not exclude yourself. Whosoever will, let me take of the water of life freely. How 'specific' can that get?
Christianity Etc › Re: Yahweh And His Lying Angels. by Image123(m): 2:44pm On Apr 26, 2010
@mazaje and cohorts
Having it in mind that the Bible regards God as Lord of heaven and earth, we see that He is also judge(law). The police/law court punishes crime. It could be by denial of rights like freedom, it could even be capital an execution.
Corporal punishment and firing squad is not a crime, this is law. Punishment will in most cases if not all, be considered a crime if it's not coming from the judge and his team. Perspective should be considered, not just action. Be men in understanding if you can be, not children.

You must be ignorant to think that everybody will get saved. Some people were needed by an oil company recently. It was already ordained that not everyone will be accepted, there was a limited number of positions to be filled. Right before applications, everything had been prepared. That's planning. Only a lazy bone will give up with the excuse that not everybody will be picked, the company already knows what/who they're looking for. Go figure if you can.

The guilty will usually feel himself a victim of the law. Someone killed his neighbour and the police killed him in return. One has legal backing(right), one is illegal(wrong).
Similar action, differing judgement, same jury.
Get used to it and stop being ilo gical.

What a privilege we have, to introduce Him to others (His creatures). When last did you, or have you ever introduced Him to anyone? Can you not recollect one?
Many people think that He needs no introduction. But thank God for the Psalmist, a man after God's heart. He introduced the Lord. The King of glory is the Lord of hosts. Jehovah God is the King. Satan is not the King, money is not the King, pastor is not, I am not, you are not the King, your job or career is not. Oh! Let your kingdom come, King of glory. My Father and your Father, the Alpha and Omega, the Almighty and Ancient of Days. He is the King of glory.

April 25 Psalm 24v10

10. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah

There are popular people in the world today. Men in vogue, needing no introduction. Some people's names are more popular than some countries. How intriguing then that the owner of heaven and earth is not that popular. Yet, He is the King of glory. He has dominion, lordship and possession over glory and praise.
Of His Son, it is said that He was in the world and the world knew Him not. Of His children, it is reported that the world does not know them. Of Him, it is asked 'who is this King of glory?' Definitely He needs an introduction.

You used to be like me! Serious? I'll personally forgive you for you know not what you say. What's all this koran, koran talk? You want to discuss the koran, I'm sure you know their section.
It's a fact that unbelievers cannot discern spiritual things. That's why I'm trying to come to a level where you might reason with.

Anyhow this analogy sounds, that's kinda how you sound.
God owns and created the earth, the angels(both the good and the now bad ones), Ahab, the prophets, the devil. He owns all things. He can do whatsoever He pleases. It is His. But to come again to the human level, to put myself in your shoe 'unfortunately'. Has He really been unfair? We'll look at the Bible a little bit again.
Later, I have to go for now.

Take for instance, you have a shirt that got torn or old, or you prepared food and it got burnt or spoilt. It's yours isn't it? You've got the right to trash it as you please. You could burn the shirt, you could mend it, you could give it out, you could convert it to a 'night wear', you could make it a rag in the room, or kitchen, or toilet.
It sounds ridiculous for someone or worse still a cloth to tell you that you're wrong on the shirt's use. It may have served you. You used it in your promotion interview, or to woo some girl or something cute. You bought it expensive, it's made in bla and customized ble. Now, someone challenges you that you said the cloth is bad and you're still using it, or that you gave it to a less privileged fellow human.

As you sit as judge to weigh God's actions, would you not be fair to consider all the evidence/exhibit tendered? Would you not be just enough to allow the accused to speak for Himself or be fully spoken for before passing judgement?
God's exhibit is His Word, the whole Bible. It needs to be considered in totality before sound judgement is rendered. You have ignored scripture parts whichsay God owns all things (heaven, earth, angel, devil, good, evil etc).
I know you consider it unfair that God will allow you live 'your own' life as you please. Yet you consider it fair to judge Him for using His own things as He pleases.

One thing you should bear in mind, as unbelievers, you have no capacity to receive spiritual things AND you do not know God. Why not allow those who know Him the privilege of trying to showing Him to you?

By the way, He has already drawn you. We are waiting for you. When you meet this conditions, there is a command issued from the highest throne. It is a command to bless. I have received commandment to bless. You are blessed in Jesus' name. I bless your life, I bless your family, I bless your future.
I'm in partnership with God for He has blessed. We are agreed, no witch can reverse your blessing. No relative can stop it, no enemy can halt it. It's all in your hands. You are blessed.

April 23 Numbers 23v20

20. Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed: and I cannot reverse it.

God bless you! What a prayer often thrown into the air. If you know what it means for God to bless a person, you will seek after it more than they seek after gold and crude oil. You will pursue after it more than naira and dollar.
Do you know it's not that hard to get the blessings of God? You need to be skilled, certified among other things to get gold and crude oil from the earth. You don't pluck money on the tree. All you need to get God's blessings is to meet the pre-requisite. Draw near to God. Don't wait for Him to draw you. You need Him more than He offer you.

My point is exactly that you have no point teaching since 'we believers are all not losing our salvation after all'. Pray, teach us why on earth will Jesus pray for the disciples if they can't lose their salvation. Why is he praying that they be kept from the evil and not lost? Why is he praying that they should make it to heaven at last, and behold his glory?
Why the bother my brother?

Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order. Let all things be done decently and in order. All things! There is prescribed ORDER for us to follow in ALL things, in the scriptures. You know what Abraham did next after all these? He bound the sacrifice. All your obedience and order/doctrine will amount to nothing if you do not bound the sacrifice.
Binding the sacrifice is consecration. Do something with your will, put your body under, submit your will. We thank God for the sacrifice and its quality, but you must bind this sacrifice. Consecration and commitment. I pray the Lord to open our eyes and hearts to this.

April 22 Genesis 22v9

9. And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

Today's passage is vital lesson to every member of the body of Christ. It re-echoes enduring to the end. Press forward for the mark. There is no relapsing, this world is not the believers' home. There is no looking/turning back, whatever good you might have achieved, keep on to the end. The end is the most important, may we realise this in Jesus' name.
Abraham and his team came to the place which God had told him of. They did not stop at that, may you not stop at that. You know, people build on past obedience and experience. Obedience is of God, continual, non-stop. It has an eternal quality. Don't stop obeying, move on. Abraham built an altar there. Let's not say 'I have tried'. Let's not obey partially but fully.
