LMAO! Took which tail? Bwahahahahaha!

You say you have an omniwhatever god then you want to compare him to a none omniwhatever being and you believe you are making sense? LMAO!
You are yet to establish any sane reason for making claims. On what basis do you claim that God cannot/should not do something that you do?
Christianity Etc › Re: Is God Wicked For Doing This? by Image123(m): 10:15am On Apr 22, 2021
LordReed:
One told me if I can hate my enemies why can't god do same, I wan laugh die. LMAO!

Always making the god sound like a lazy crazy wimp.
i guess that's me in this case. You are yet to give an example of God as a standard for God. If for example, you make a complaint about a thing or person or position, there should be a standard or gauge to measure by. If you say this not a real phone or device, it's likely because you have an idea of what a real phone is.
So when you say God is not God(Omniwhatever, Perfect, Eternal etc). It reasonably should be because you have a better definition or example. Till date, you are yet to give a better definition or example. Therefore it's absurd of you to question the fittings of godly attributes.
The other way we can help is to compare known to unknown, or visible to invisible. While humans are not animals or trees for instance, we sometimes compare or use for illustrative purposes. Like when you say the man is a lion, or she's a dog, or he's like a goat, or pig. You have an idea of the connection/connotation. We compare man and God because the Bible makes such comparisons/illustration several times. Also man is made in the image of God. When you say God should not hate His enemies, you should be able to justify it. If you are doing something, what justification do you have for another not to do same. This is the summary of what we discussed before you took your tail, only for you to come and tell your minion this nonsense months/weeks later.

Wow. OK o!
1Cor 4:9  For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.

2Co 11:25  Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;
2Co 11:26  In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

Yeah, these and more are what is in the Bible. The health and wealth false prosperity doctrine which you are probably hit by says stuff like be a christian and you have no sickness, many riches and all el dorado you need. It's more of deceptive sales. The Bible has clear terms and conditions for those who sincerely care to know more.

LordReed:
So every christian should expect to be killed?
Verily. Expect the worst in this world because the devil is the prince of this world and the christian's kingdom is not of this world.

John16:33  These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

2Ti_3:12  Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

While you expect that from the world, you have faith in God for ultimate salvation and judgement of the world. And that faith is IN GOD, which is a living faith, a faith with works, a proactive faith, a faith that watches, a faith that flees from danger as instructed by Jesus, a faith that grows and engages in warfare. It's a textbook on it's own but the above is a summary.

Where in it do I mention Jesus or heaven?
Here and there

You talked about going to heaven and laying treasures in Heaven so therefore no need to build here on earth.

Don't need to, she's not going to say anything different from you. You both are emotionally invested in the Jesus stories, it soothes you.
Exactly. It is impossible to be emotionally invested in Bunyan in the same way. They are worlds apart.

It may not be the primary purpose but it certainly features very prominently. Without a doubt she must have prayed for protection, even if she didn't I still find it quite telling that she gets attacked after a night vigil and doesn't live to tell the tale. Quite telling indeed.
i wonder what Jesus should say then, He just came out of a vigil into a gruesome death. Look at Jesus Christ and the Bible, not at the major joke that a lot of christainity is(became) to judge christianity. The God you pray to says WATCH and pray, not just pray. The church you pray in says watch and pray, not just pray. But you come up with the reasoning that prayer alone should be it. You are likely a victim of the health and wealth prosperity gospel. Check the Bible.

He was claiming shared heritage with respect to flood stories from various regions of the world. I introduced the Osiris myth as a way to underscore the fact that similarities in religious tales does not indicate a shared heritage. If you believe the flood stories are all linked then be necessity you have to accept that dying and rising gods are all linked. Disavowing one disavows the other likewise. The article makes it abundantly clear that you cannot assume links because of similarities, you have to prove they are linked.
Okay i see.

They'd oppose this particular one though. Even here on this thread your fellow believers have spoken against it.
It's okay for people to have different opinions and preferences. Like this colour, model, size, style, budget etc. Nothing wrong with that. Where it becomes wrong is "spiritualizing" it or claiming Holy or godly over it, or twisting Bible over it.

LordReed:
So you can't pray to your god for protection from your enemies? Or is that your god won't grant the request?
You can pray to God for anything. Protection is not the primary purpose of vigils like you insinuate, that's the point. There's no Bible reference or instruction or teaching stating so, it's your assumption. And like i showed you, even Jesus Christ Himself(Oga patapata) was "kidnapped", arrested and killed in a most gruesome manner immediately after a vigil.
There is a need to WATCH, if prayers were all that was required or the panacea for security, there will be no instruction to watch and pray. Most church vigils i know will inform the participants to be careful. Some will not even let people go out or come in at certain times due to security and safety. And they will tell them to walk in large groups/numbers. So i am wondering why you get the idea that going to vigil means you don't need to be security conscious.

Billions of people claim to encounter things you don't believe so that is not a point.
The point is that there's billions of difference between Bunyan and Jesus. If you can't see that, ask your spouse, may be able to explain better.

It's moot not mute.

My point is similarity is not an indication of shared heritage. The article keppler referenced made it even doubly clear.
Thanks for the spelling correction.

Is Keppler claiming a shared heritage between Jesus and Osiris? Whatever the answer though, always remember that thieves and counterfeiters can be very smart and fast in their dubious ways. The devil was in Heaven for a while, he knows how things work there.

Notice how you skipped answering my question: Which part of what I mentioned about the Osiris myth was written after Jesus?

BTW Jewish monotheism came from monolatry and before that polytheism, get your facts straight.
i must have had a similar line of discussion with you before. Authenticity is not based solely on first to appear, your point is mute. There are many fake versions and models that come out before the original. Remember your friend the devil is a thief and liar.

It's a costly assumption as you have seen. Jesus Christ didn't go to vigils for protection. And most church vigil organizers tell you to take necessary precautions as said.

I dunno, you guys are the ones who believe Jesus said to not lay treasures on earth but in heaven so you tell me.
Like i said, you don't understand God or spiritual things. Building a church is not the translation of laying treasures on earth. Jesus Christ said His followers should be occupied till He comes, not idle. Waiting for the coming of Jesus Christ doesn't stop a believer from living a good, profitable, productive and achieving life. Some with your understanding refuse to marry, have children, go to school, work but God never sent them such message. What He says is to set our affections above, make eternity your priority.

She was coming from a night vigil, that religious activity did not prevent her from being attacked and killed. If it was a panacea, she would not have been attacked and killed.
Jesus Christ was crucified after a night vigil of sorts in Gethsemane. Night vigils don't prevent people from being attacked and killed, who told you such? Even the church leadership will tell participants to be careful and not even go out until certain times perceived to be safe and in groups. The robbers and murderers are the ones who religious piety should stop from being murderous robbers.

What has her death got to do with religious piety? Were her murderers said to be religious?

Your claim that the flood stories have the same exact details is not correct. Even the chart you referenced shows there are several details that do not appear in other flood stories so I don't see why you are making a point of it.

The Osiris myth has no parallels with virgin birth (except with reference in a matter of speaking to his son Horus) so I can't possibly be talking about that. Osiris was a king and a descent of Ra or Atum the creator (Jesus is said to be the son of god the creator and a king). He was killed by his enemy (Jesus is said to have been crucified under the direction of Satan his enemy). He did resurrect long enough to copulate with Isis and then is said to have become the ruler of the realm of the dead (Jesus resurrected long enough to show himself to his disciples. Jesus isn't on earth right now is he? And the only humans able to get where he is now are dead people is it not?). These were well established before the advent of Christianity so it is funny you are trying very hard to deny the parallels. Very funny indeed. grin grin grin
Myths and history are parallels, interesting.
