AtheistD: All can be done outside of a church.
A church is a group of believers.

krall: Why do people go to church for no reason other than just to go to church? I have gone all my life and Its always the same message I hear all year round, irrespective of the denomination. Would it make a difference if I missed out today and perhaps bought a cd of the service?
1. To fellowship with others.
2. To worship God in the midst of the congregation.
3. To help solve some problems you may have, instead of alone.
4. To keep your mind fully on what you'd do in a service.

i liked the post, though i have a little question about the pre-ordained part.
Sepp Blatter loves football/soccer and he's FIFA president. If Sepp said in June that Germany would win the 2014 FIFA world cup in July, would you conclude that Sepp Blatter made that happen?

Use that £50 and preach salvation na...souls are wasting each day, and the best place to put ur £50 is anti tithing?

The other day I saw on LoveWorld news what Joagbaje's church is doing internationally...impacting 40 million folks in Sudan with the gospel of Jesus... yes, 40, 000, 000...sponsoring 20 TV stations with the Gospel of Christ... Note, sudan has less than 5% christians.

Dey there dey fight a loosing battle. In the end, on that great daya when we would all stand before that great white throne, Jesus will ask you what u did with the gospel, I hope u boldly scream u sponsored anti tithing track and was passionate in fighting tithing...
Blowing minds to pieces, literally. The beauty of grace.

DrummaBoy: Your friend on this forum, Image123, was the one who came to the new thread on WOF sermonizing about Jesus' parable on the wheat and tares. Telling us that we should not expose errors because Jesus said wheat and tares should grow together. I took pains to explain to him that that scriptures shows us that it is the duty of God's servants to distinguish wheats from tares, something that is well done on that thread. As for rooting out tares, that is the exclusive presrrve of God. We were not doing God's job on that thread.
Hold on exorcist. You should learn the meaning and use of words before typing them. i didn't sermonize nobody about that parable. i simply added that passage to the mix in response to Anony (i think) IN CONTEXT of the exchanges with Ihe. Lying is still a sin, i won't give it nice names or big grammar so we're clear here. Sorry for the pains you took, hope you're better now?

Christianity Etc › Re: Salient Points From the Epistle to the Romans by Image123(op): 10:33pm On Jul 18, 2014
Rom 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
Wow, blessed be God for His mercies. "Behold therefore". To behold is to look, to consider. Take note THEREFORE, because of the previous verses, the staring reality, take note, behold, consider the goodness and the severity of God. Many believers, preachers and christian writers are quick to behold the goodness of God. God is good and His mercies endure forever. He is good to you and me, good to the righteous and the unrighteous, good from ages past till eternity to come. He gives rain, and foos and all things good richly. But the writer says to also BEHOLD the severity of God. Don't ignore it, don't play it down, behold it, take note of it. There was a man who lost his destiny and purpose, not because of murder not because of adultery or fornication. He lost it because he ate from a tree. That man was Adam- the severity of God. There was a man referred to as a MAN OF GOD by the Bible. He was killed because he disobeyed God. He didn't r.ape, or do drugs. He didn't fight with anybody or have unforgiving spirit. He ate bread and drank water-the severity of God. There was a man, the meekest man on earth, with whom God was said to speak face to face. God punished him and did not allow him to fulfill what he was called to do since 80years ago. Can you imagine having a vision, a godly vision and desire, to enter the promised land, to take God's people to the promised land. And he tried in the flesh, after 40yrs, he was sent by God Himself. he was faithful in all his house. BUT He hit the Rock twice instead of once. He did not get to Canaan- the severity of God. There was a man, beloved of God, who pleased God, anointed by God with the Holy Ghost and power. He went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed. God was with Him. He Himself said "the Father has not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him." Not for four years, not for 30yrs, for all eternity, God was well pleased with Him. He did not sin, but He bore the sins of others, God forsook Him- the severity of God.
Behold therefore, consider, take note of the goodness and the severity of God. On them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness. God is not a respecter of persons. He will be good towards you IF you continue in His goodness. God's goodness is conditional, and so also is His severity. If you do not continue in God's goodness, you will be cut off. Remember, the writer is talking about a tree of which there are branches that are either natural or grafted. God is ABLE to cut off, and will cut off if any does not continue. He did cut off the natural Israel and warns the gentiles(the majority of you and me).

Rom 11:23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.
Rom 11:24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
God is able to save and able to cut off. he is mighty to do both. Faith is key determinant. If anyone abides in FAITH, he will be with Christ's body. If anyone abides in unbelief, he will not be a member of Christ's body. Nobody is doomed to hell or damnation(what many call predestined). Anyone can be grafted in. God IS ABLE. Yes, He is that able to graft in and to cut off. The key is faith, belief in God. Are you abiding in faith or in unbelief? Without faith, it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God. If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes. God is able to graft them in AGAIN. Talk about being born again again.

DrummaBoy: Like I told you before, I will tell you again, this thread is not a tithe discuss or debate, it is meant to draft a tract.

If despite all that what written in the discuss has not convinced you as to the real nature of the tithe, open a new thread for it and I hope those who have time to waste can meet you there. Stop detailing this one.
You're crying more than the bereaved bro. Find something to do.
Christianity Etc › Re: Design An Anti-Tithe Tract for £50 by Image123(m): 5:37pm On Jul 18, 2014
DrummaBoy: Yes, the choice to repeat those words "remember" was deliberate because of the tendency for people like you to forget. It is hoped if one mentions it enough, you won't forget this time.

What you call "a clear bible truth" should better be called "Image123 position on that discuss" and that is why I referred him there. Mark Miwerds and candour took the pain to thrash out every biblical reason why tithes can never be money, why should I repeat it all over again when an easy reference was available. If the guy you reference was not so lazy, he could have easily gone there to look up what was said. But here you are encouraging him not to when he would have also had the opportunity to see your own submission on the matter and then make an informed decision, rather than wallow in ignorance.
It is a clear Bible truth that bible time economy wasn't currency or naira driven.
Hope you meditate on that one line enough till you get it. The rest of what you wrote is not just worth it.

DrummaBoy: First I was hoping you would remember that you were part of that project - a major actor for that matter.

Secondly, I was hoping you would remember that we labored to ensure that that project was not another mere "argument" but a solid discuss on tithes meant to be a reference point for other discussions in the future, like this thread.

And lastly, I was hoping you would remember that it was the bible we used mostly as reference in the discussion and that the word "academic" is/was only employed to show the thoroughness the discussion was to assume.
Remember, remember. i remember God's Word above my necessary food. You called it "arguments" BTW. The fellow you were addressing was stating a clear Bible truth about the economy. You were not interested in going there AT ALL. Instead, you referred him to a thread. Remember that.
Christianity Etc › Re: Design An Anti-Tithe Tract for £50 by Image123(m): 11:10am On Jul 18, 2014
DrummaBoy: Now let's not go there ra ra at all.

Before I proceed, let me refer you to our 58 days academic discussion on tithes. M4 did a sound analysis on tithe not being money. Weigh the arguments for and against and see that tithe being money was never and can never be scriptural:

www.nairaland.com/1548047/theological-discuss-tithing-rhymeyjohn-image123/6#20318249
And your many days arguments for and against should not supersede the Word of God.

Kay17: Good.

Equally same goes to everyone expecting a miracle EVEN for the most trivial issue, just like Peter did especially when he was not in danger or found any necessity to walk on water; yet he did.

The thing today is that modern science and knowledge has washed off most of the faith in the world. And without faith, there is no God. God is dying out. People rely more in hospitals, universities. People prefer the Big Ban.g theory and evolution as against the Genesis account. People believe the Bible is more of an allegory than literal. Faith is dying out.
Peter walking on water trivial? Kindly state three to five contemporary trivial issues, we are about to agree i hope? The headlessness has hope.

On second paragraph, thanks for the info. i appreciate.

Absolutely ridiculous nonsense. Peter was with Jesus God. He saw Jesus do it successfully and received a clear go ahead from Jesus God before stepping out. Being with Jesus is a more sure sanctuary than any boat, He is the Author of life, remember.

jayriginal: James 5:14-16

14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Yes, the Pastor is irresponsible considering this undecided

2nd Tim 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

I fail to see any ambiguity.

I daresay you dont believe in God!
And how is this equal to a pastor telling a patient to stop medication? Help me to understand.
